"But he is my guy,he is a great guy and I love him to death,if you come after me I will come after you" Freeze To BasketMouth

Outspoken Cool FM OAP, Freeze, real names Ifedayo Lucian, has spoken about his feud with comedian Basketmouth.

In a chat with Pulse, he revealed the reasons behind the beef, but went on to state that he still loves the comedian because Basketmouth encouraged him when nobody else would.

He said:
You see there’s a point in the conversation that I cannot have for legal reasons, but there was an alliance that was broken and Basketmouth took the other side or it appeared to me that he did, and he never gave me a call. This is my guy, he never gave me a call to say why did you do this or why did you not do this and I felt slightly slighted.

I remember when he was driving a Jetta and I was driving a golf. I am talking about 20-year-old cars basically.

He is an amazing talent I must say and I watched that talent grow from a seed into a forest that it is right now

Also, I have to give it to him he was part of my story. He encouraged when there wasn’t much encouragement. So I hate to hear all the stories that I am hearing about me and him.

Unfortunately, if you come after me I will come after you. I am reactive, with him, I am reactive, with most things too I am reactive. I am not pro-active but just know that for every action, there is an opposite and equal reaction. As long as he keeps…I mean you saw the shade the other day. Like really? But he is my guy, he is a great guy and I love him to death.

Ray J Support Chris Brown Over 'Gun Threat' Arrest As He Gets Bailed

Ray J has defended pal Chris Brown after he allegedly pulled a gun out on a model at his mansion in Tarzana, Los Angeles.

Kim Kardashian's ex was partying at the star's bachelor pad on Tuesday before the row kicked off and the singer ended up in an 11-hour stand-off with police.

Beauty queen Baylee Curran claimed he pointed the weapon at her head after she admired a flashy necklace belonging to his friend.

In a video, Ray J said: "People can take a false story and blow it up into something way more than what it should be."

According to records from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Brown was released on £250,000 bail today.

The full transcript from Ray J's video reads: "I'm real upset about today … I'm not happy with how things are handled and how people can take a false story and blow it up into something way more than what it should be.

"We got, just positive people around and you look outside and it's like a war zone for no reason, for something some stranger said about something that don’t got nothing to do with nothing.

"And to react like that, so fast without really knowing the facts … It’s just not right. It shouldn't be like this. I support the homie Chris [Brown] and I support the whole movement…

"This sh-t gotta change. It can’t be like this every time somebody yippin' and yappin' trying to get an extra buck. It turns around and it’s all bad on us. It ain't cool."

A 55-year-old man, Yekini Ogunjobi, who allegedly abducted a teenage girl for several days and assaulted her sexually, was on Wednesday in Lagos released on a N100, 000 bail.

Police have pressed abduction and sexual assault charges at an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court against the security man, who lives at 12, Esuola St., Oko-Oba, Agege, a suburb of Lagos.

Prosecutor Rafael Donny told the court that the offences were committed between July 25 and July 28 at the residence of the accused.

Donny said the accused lured the 14-year-old girl, who was sent on an errand, into his house and shut the door before assaulting her sexually.

“The accused abducted the girl for four days and assaulted her sexually. “It was one of her relations who sighted her in front of the accused’s house that reported to the police,” Sgt. Donny said.

According to the prosecutor, the offences contravene Sections 141(a) and 259 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011. The accused, who entered a `not-guilty’ plea, risks 18 years or life imprisonment on conviction.

Chief Magistrate Tajudeen Elias admitted the accused to a bail of N100, 000 in addition to two sureties in like sum. The case has been adjourned to Oct. 6 for mention.

Richest man in Africa and Chairman, Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote has lost $5.4 billlion in its fortune since this year, according to data obtained, Wednesday, from Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

Using an average exchange rate of N250 to a dollar, Dangote’s $5.4 billion loss translates to about N1.35 trillion.

The Bloomberg Billionaires Index blamed the sharp drop in dangote’s networth on the slump in commodities prices and the devaluation of the naira in June by the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.

The report put Dangote’s net worth at $9.9 billion, a 62 per cent drop since January 2014, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

However, the report stated that Africa’s second-wealthiest person, South African Christo Wiese, trails Dangote by $2.8 billion with his fortune climbing 12 per cent this year on the index.

Continuous Clash: Oyo State Govt. Plans To Establish Cattle Ranches For Herdsmen

The Oyo State Government says it plans to establish cattle ranches for herdsmen to stem the increasing waves of clashes between farmers and herdsmen in the state.

The Commissioner for Special Duties, Mudashiru Abdulganiyu said this in Ibadan at a workshop on Conflict Prevention and Peaceful Coexistence for Traditional Rulers.

Abdulganiyu explained that all stakeholders were being carried along in the plan as violent conflicts between herdsmen and farmers were not healthy for peaceful coexistence in the state.

“The state government is considering the issue of ranches so that the herdsmen will not just be going out uncontrolled and destroying people’s farms. Establishing ranches is part of the agreed policy that the government is trying to bring up so that it ill minimise the conflict between the herdsmen and the farmers. Continue...

“Government has some agencies that are looking into the issue of ranches, which normally mediate in conflicts between the herdsmen and the farmers alongside traditional rulers of the various areas.”

The commissioner also said that the menace of violent conflicts in the state had been minimised since Gov. Abiola Ajimobi became governor.

“When Gov. Abiola Ajimobi came in as the governor in 2011, there were lots of problems in Oyo state, particularly in Ibadan, especially with the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).

“The NURTW members were always causing crisis and killing innocent people.

“When Ajimobi came, he said the menace will not be allowed to go on and that it has to stop,” he said.

Abdulganiyu said that the governor exercised the political will to stop acts of lawlessness in the state and empowered the security agencies to do their work.

“He (Ajimobi) called in the security agencies, which rounded up all the troublemakers.

“In fact, just about two months ago, one of them was jailed for six years after a long time of trial.

“Since then, a new election was held and there has been peace all over the state because they know that the governor will not tolerate any brigandage in the state.”

The commissioner commended the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR) and the UN Development Programme (UNDP) for organising a workshop on Conflict Prevention, Tolerance and Peaceful Coexistence.

“I believe it is a very good move and impressive that I saw all the traditional rulers who are present because they are key stakeholders in the society.

“When anything happens in any community, the first person that the people will contact is the traditional ruler.

“Traditional rulers are the ones who contact state and local government authorities; they are very important stakeholders in the resolution of conflicts and peace-building in the society,” he said.

What Really Happened in Kuje Prison On Monday…

Sporadic gunfire caused pandemonium at Kuje Prison, Abuja, on Monday, following a riot by some inmates, who resisted the attempt by prison officials to search their cells for banned items.

It was gathered that security operatives fired gunshots and tear gas canisters to restore law and order and control the rioters.

This happened 11 days after a similar incident in Abakaliki Prison, Ebonyi State,  that led to the death of six inmates and injuries to four prison warders.

The Monday riot occurred two months after two inmates, standing trial for culpable homicide, escaped from the Kuje Prison on June 25. The fleeing inmates have yet to be re-arrested.

Sources in the prison said the violent protest was brought under control by the armed squad of the Nigerian Prisons Service supported by soldiers providing additional security cover for the formation.

The incident, it was learnt, caused panic among residents of Kuje community, who believed that the prison was under attack by terrorists.

The Controller of Prisons, FCT Command, Daniel Odharo, in a statement, confirmed the crisis at the prison but said there was no injury or escape by inmates.

Odharo said, “At about 1000hrs on Monday, staff of Kuje Prison carried out a routine cell-search which is a part of the prisons operational guidelines to prevent the breach of security within and around the prisons.

“Some inmates tried to resist the exercise, which led to an altercation between the search party and the inmates. This was quickly put under effective control. No prisoner was injured, no property damaged and the yard is calm and peaceful.”

Investigations by one of Punch correspondents indicated that the violence was instigated by convicts, who refused to allow warders to carry out a search on their cells for prohibited items.

It was gathered from a reliable source in the prison that during the search, 25 mobile sets were recovered from a suspected Boko Haram inmate.

The source stated, “The incident happened this morning. The warders, who were acting on instructions from the prison authorities, decided to search the cells and seize prohibited items.

“During the search, they found 25 handsets with a Boko Haram suspect. After a search of the convicts’ cells, they moved to the awaiting-trial cells.

“But those men, who saw the warders approaching with some ‘already’ seized items, decided to resist them.  They attacked the warders with stones and every object they could lay their hands on, and in the process, many of the warders were injured.”

It was gathered that after a search, some substances, suspected to be cannabis, were also uncovered in some cells and confiscated.

Another prison source told The Punch that the warders, who were overwhelmed, retreated for reinforcement.

They were said to have opened fire on some of the inmates, during which some of them were injured, though it could not be ascertained if any of the inmates died as some suspected.

“I can’t say the total number of casualties among the inmates, but I can confirm to you that many of the warders were injured,” he added.

The source explained that the inmates resisted the warders because the prohibited items were brought in by warders after being tipped.

He said, “The rot in the Nigerian Prisons Service is serious. The prohibited items that the warders wanted to seize were brought into the yard by the same warders.

“The inmates had been enjoying this privilege through trafficking by the warders. It is only natural that they will fight back, and it is a bad trend for the prisons service.”

VIP inmates resist search

It was gathered that the convicts, who were kept in a block called ‘VIP’, were allowed to enjoy certain privileges not permitted by the prison rules and regulations.

Sources stated that against prison rules, awaiting trial inmates were allowed to stay in the VIP block as it was more comfortable.

It was learnt that the dormitory-like block, where the awaiting trial inmates were kept, was congested with poor ventilation while the convicts’ cells were more pleasant to stay.

A source said, “What happened on Monday was that as the officers moved to carry out a search of their cells, the inmates refused and before you know it the situation had degenerated into an altercation between the inmates and the officers with some convicts trying to physically attack the warders.

“The armed squad had to fire into the air and they also released some tear gas canisters to bring the situation under control.”

In June, the prisons service dismissed a female prison officer for smuggling alcoholic drinks into the Kirikiri prison in Lagos.

About two weeks ago, the Federal Government dismissed 23 prison officers for alleged complicity in jailbreaks at the Kuje Medium Security Prison, Abuja, and the Koton-Karfe Prisons, Kogi State.

The Civil Defence, Fire, Immigration and Prison Services Board, at its emergency meeting held on August 11, 2016, approved the dismissal of three senior prison officers serving in Kuje Prison and three other senior officers serving in Koton-Karfe Prison for their complicity in the escape of prisoners from the respective prisons.

In addition, the Controller-General of Prisons, Ahmed Ja’afaru, had also approved the dismissal of seven junior prison officers serving in Kuje Prison and 10 other junior staff serving in Koton Karfe prison, who were also implicated in the jailbreaks.

The officer in charge of Nsukka Prison, Okonkwo Lawrence, and 10 others were also suspended following the escape of 15 inmates from the prison.#

Jonathan & Niger Delta Governors Used Crude Oil Money Like Pocket Money – Masari

The Governor of Katsina State, Aminu Masari, has said Niger Delta leaders must come clean on how they spent the oil money allocated to the region over the years.

“For six years,” Masari said, “we had a Niger Delta president. Let us see what difference he made in six years when he was president. When the excess crude account became pocket money, how much of the money went to the Niger Delta?”

In an interview published in the current edition of The Interview, Governor Masari called out Niger Delta leaders, challenging them to “come clean” on how they managed the region’s resources.

According to a statement by the Managing Director/Editor-In-Chief of the mag, Azu Ishiekwene, “the interview features Masari firing on all cylinders. He took on Senate President Saraki, explained why Obasanjo’s third term bid failed, and spoke, at length for the first time, on ‘budget padding.’ And then, he removed his gloves on his predecessor, Ibrahim Shema, and the Niger Delta.”

Although Mr. Masari did not name names, the reference to a Niger Delta president was apparently pointing to Goodluck Jonathan, under whose presidency oil price averaged $100 per barrel.

Asked what he did to ensure accountability of oil money when he was Speaker of the House of Reps and also a ranking member of the PDP at the time, Masari said, “The House of Representatives has been friendly to the people of the Niger Delta than any other institution in the country.”

He asked the Federal Government to publish how much the region has got since the 13% derivation started for everyone to see that Trillions of Naira has gone to Niger Delta without much to show.
