Another Kenya Citizen spotted Carrying Placard seeking for Job
According to reports, efforts of the 28-year-old graduate from Chuka University, Kenya, seems to have paid off barely as he has received countless calls from potential employers who have promised to give him a job.
In an interview with eDaily, Muthoni, who graduated in 2014 said he married his girlfriend hoping she would get a job and provide for the family.
"I am married. My wife and I are blessed with a 2-year-old daughter. When I got into a relationship with my partner – back then, I was banking on her to get a job and provide for the family. I wasn’t sure who – between her and I – would get employed first. But things did not go as we had expected. She, just like me, did not get employment,” recounts Mr Muthomi.
Muthomi further narrated to eDaily how immediately after graduation, he got a job as a business teacher at Mwiga SDA Secondary School in Nyeri where he worked for five month.
He left his teaching job, hoping to find a well-paying job as an accountant in the capital Nairobi, where he’d relocated together with his wife and toddler.More than a year later, his dream has not materialized yet. The competitive nature of city occupants has locked him out of employment despite sending nearly 200 resumes to different organisations, all of which he has never gotten a call back.
"I left Nyeri to come to Nairobi with big dreams of getting a well-paying job. Little did I know that getting employment in Nairobi is never easy compared to other cities. I have sent more than 200 of my CV’s with no responses," he says.

Ecobank Manager Arrested for Allegedly Diverting Customers’ N14 million
Ikechukwu Aghanenu, the former manager of Ecobank, Ejigbo branch, has been arrested and arraigned in court for allegedly diverting customers’ N14million in connivance with suspected fraudster, Anthony Okpala.
According to Punch, the customers are the late Mrs. Oluremi Egunjobi (now late) whose N4.014m was stolen from her account number 5323007058, and UK-based Rabiu Lawal, whose N10m was withdrawn from his account number 2741128259.
Newsmen gathered that Okpala and another suspect currently on the run forged documents claiming to be the deceased relatives. The fraudulent deal was perfected between September and November, 2015, and the said sum was withdrawn from Egunjobi’s account.
Also, within same period, Okpala reportedly claimed he was the business partner of the UK-based customer Lawal, and he colluded with the bank manager to withdraw N10m from the customer’s account in tranches.
Punch says the investigation into the fraud started after a lawyer of the deceased’s relatives and also the lawyer of Mr Lawal, lodged complaints. A source revealed this to the press:
“The bank reported the fraud to the police and in the course of investigation, it was discovered that the fraudulent transactions were carried out by Okpala with the knowledge of the ex-manager and others at large.
“Okpala presented himself and another suspect at the Ecobank’s branch in Ejigbo as relatives of the late Oluremi (Egunjobi) and instructed the bank to liquidate her account, which was done through the help of the ex-manager. But he (Aghanenu) denied knowing Okpala.
“The other victim, Lawal, works in UK and saves money at the bank with the hope of using the money to invest when he relocates to Nigeria. It was when he checked his account balance that he discovered the withdrawals and complained to the bank.”
Following the investigations, police officers arrested Aghanenu and Okpala on Wednesday and the duo were arraigned yesterday at an Igbosere Magistrate’s Court on five counts bordering on fraud and forgery.
The counts read in part:
“That you, Ikechukwu Aghanenu, Anthony Okpala and others now at large, between September 2015 and November 2015, at the Ecobank Nigeria Plc, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit: forgery and stealing.
“That you did forge the instruction of one Oluremi Egunjobi, a deceased and an account holder of Ecobank Nigeria Plc, fraudulently liquidated the customer’s investment in account number 5323007058 of the sum of N4.014m property of Ecobank Nigeria Plc.
“That you, and others at large, did fraudulently convert the sum of N10m in tranches from Ecobank account number 2741128259 belonging to Rabiu Lawal to account number 53220002455 with the name Okeneme Samuel.”
The defendants pleaded not guilty and were granted bail in the sum of N3m with two sureties.
The case was adjourned till September 6, 2016.
Popular Edo pastor, Kingsley Amayo arrested over wife's controversial death
Welder Tells Court He Fondled Lady's Buttocks Because He Wanted Her To Like Him
A Gudu Upper Area Court in Abuja, yesterday, sentenced a 26-year-old Wilfred Inacho to six strokes of the cane for fondling a lady’s buttocks.
Inacho, a welder, pleaded guilty to one-count charge of mischief. The judge, Mr. Umar Kagarko, passed the sentence with no option of fine.
The convict, who showed remorse, said it was not intentional as he only wanted the lady to like him.
Kagarko, while admonishing the convict to desist from indecency, asked him to find a decent method of approaching women.
Mr. Kagarko said: “You don’t go about touching a woman’s buttocks simply because you want her to like you. Find a decent approach.”
The police prosecutor, Mr. Augustine Urom, told the court that one Miss Alice Adejo reported the matter at Apo Police Station on August 10. He said the convict had formed a habit of leaving his work to follow the complainant every time she passed by his workshop. Urom said the complainant had warned the convict many times but he kept repeating the act.
“She even reported him to his master,” he said.
Urom said the complainant could no longer endure the act when he crossed the line by touching her buttocks. He said the act contravened Section 327 of the Penal Code.
Popular Edo pastor, Kingsley Amayo arrested over wife's controversial death
Pastor Kingsley Amayo, the pastor of a popular pentecostal church in Edo state has been arrested over the questionable death of his wife, Mrs Faith Amayo.
Detectives at Zone 5 Police headquarters in Benin, Edo State also arrested three other pastors of his church in connection with the death of the 38 year old woman in Uromi town, Esan North-East area.
They were arrested after the woman’s family wrote a petition, alleging questionable circumstances surrounding the death of their daughter.
Elder brother of the deceased, Engineer Fidelis Evbuomwan, who spoke with journalists in Benin, said the wife who was yet to have a child was properly married to Pastor Kingsley Amayo in 2011.
He said his bereaved family had to instruct their lawyer to initiate a petition when their in-law, Pastor Kingsley Amayo gave conflicting accounts of how his wife died in an accident he was also involved.
Engr. Evbuomwan explained that on Tuesday, July 26, 2016:
Pastor Kingsley Amayo had through his elder brother, one Chief Iso, informed the family that their daughter, Mrs Faith Amayo, had died in a motor accident at Ujogba while her husband Pastor Kingsley Amayo was driving her to Benin City.
According to Engineer Evbuomwan, their findings revealed that no case of accident was recorded at Ujogba nor reported at Ekpoma Police Division in charge of the area that fateful day. They appealed to the concerned authorities to ensure that justice prevailed.
The family want police to unravel the location of the accident, the other vehicle allegedly involved in the head-on collision with Pastor Amayo’s Sienna car, who rescued them and the hospital where the late wife was pronounced dead, who embalmed her corpse before she was taken to mortuary in Uromi and why was it not reported to the police or wait for her family members to see her?
The Zonal Public Relations Officer (ZPRO) DSP Emeka Iheanacho, explained that the discrepancies in the report made to the police on the death of the woman informed the investigation.
He said a case of accident was reported at Ekpoma Police Division by the pastor while the family of the woman wrote a petition, alleging murder to the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in the zone.
“,,,the petition before AIG is from the family of the deceased where they suspected that the husband must have used the woman for ritual.
“So, that is the matter we are investigating presently”, Iheanacho said, expressing confidence in the ability of the investigating team to unravel the TRUE circumstances of the woman’s death.

Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan detained at US airport
The last time Khan, 50, was detained by immigration officials in New York in 2012, it sparked uproar among his Indian fans who accused the US of racial profiling, and led Washington to apologise.
“I fully understand & respect security with the way the world is, but to be detained at US immigration every damn time really really sucks,” Khan tweeted after he was pulled aside at Los Angeles airport.
“The brighter side is while waiting caught some really nice Pokemons”.
As news of Khan’s detention broke on Indian television channels, US Assistant Secretary of State Nisha Biswal quickly expressed regret.
“Sorry for the hassle at the airport, @iamsrk – even American diplomats get pulled for extra screening!” Biswal tweeted.
Washington had previously denied allegations that Khan was singled out because his name denotes him as a Muslim.
Someone with the same name is reportedly on a US no-fly list of 80,000.
After the 2012 incident, Khan joked in a speech to Yale University that he was accustomed to such hassles.
“Yes, it always happens… Whenever I start feeling arrogant about myself, I always take a trip to America,” he told students. “The immigration guys kick the star out of stardom.”
Khan was also detained for more than two hours in 2009 at Newark airport outside New York, prompting a similar Indian outcry and a US apology.

Bank Employees Panic Over CBN's Order To Declare Assets
The Central Bank of Nigeria issued a directive ordering bank workers in all the 19 Deposit Money Banks operating in the country to declare their assets.
The order handed down by the CBN according to analysts points that the Federal Government is branching out into financial institutions and private bodies in its heightened fight against corruption and corrupt practices in the country.
The directive is contained in a letter issued by the Apex bank through the Banking Supervision Department of the CBN.
According to Punch, the directive issued about four weeks ago has been met by all staff members of Ecobank Nigeria, First City Monument Bank Limited and Fidelity Bank Plc.
A top official of one of the tier-1 banks who spoke on condition of anonymity while narrating his experience said, “All our staff members, from the most junior to the most senior, were asked to declare their assets through a court affidavit. It was handled by the company’s lawyer.
“We were asked to declare all our assets, including developed and undeveloped parcels of land, properties, houses in Nigeria and outside Nigeria etc. We were asked to also declare everything, including power generators at home. We complied within one week.”
Speaking on the directive which has reportedly caused panic among top executives of financial institutions living beyond their means and its connection to the anti-corruption crusade in the country, an executive director in one of the top three banks said: “It is part of the ongoing anti-corruption crusade in the country. The Federal Government is trying to deepen the anti-corruption war in the private sector, and it is believed that the banking sector is a very critical sector. This is why the CBN has been mandated to do this.”
A top official of the CBN who spoke on condition of anonymity revealed that the CBN’s move was in line with a letter issued to it by the Code of Conduct Bureau, CCB.
“The directive is from the Code of Conduct Bureau. It is an extant rule. Before now, most people have not been complying. So the CCB wrote a letter to the CBN reminding it about it. This is why the CBN had to write the banks to comply”.
58 Yrs Old Ghanaian,Thomas Aboagye Acheampong Arrested At Canadian Airport For Child Porn.
Crown attorney Perry Borden told Dartmouth provincial court the six children in the videos appeared to range in age from five to 13.
Acheampong pleaded guilty to a Criminal Code charge of possessing electronic media depicting the s*xual exploitation of children and a Customs Act charge of smuggling prohibited goods.
Judge Timothy Gabriel accepted a joint recommendation from lawyers and sentenced the Ghanaian national to eight months in jail on each count, with the time to be served concurrently.
Acheampong will almost certainly be deported after he gets out of the Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility in Dartmouth, the judge said.
“If it wasn’t for people like you, sir, who possess this kind of material, there would be no incentive for the monsters doing this to the children,” Gabriel told the offender. “And you’re bringing it into Canada!
“Let me be very direct. If you’re the type of person who doesn’t care that children are treated this way, that is prepared to contribute to the perpetualization of an industry that treats children this way, you’re not the type of person we want in Canada in any event.”
The judge said the aggravating features were “too many to mention” and deserved strong condemnation.
“No society in the world accepts this kind of conduct,” Gabriel said. “I don’t purport to speak for all of them, but I speak for Canadian society. We don’t tolerate it and we punish it severely.
“We express society’s revulsion and contempt for individuals who participate in that kind of activity, and the sentence must reflect that.”
He said the only mitigating feature was the early guilty plea, which saved the court some time.
Borden said he asked for more than the minimum sentence of six months for possession of child p*rnography because Acheampong had a previous conviction in Maryland in 2004 for conspiracy to traffic heroin.
“So he’s not coming to court with clean hands,” the prosecutor said.
The judge also ordered Acheampong to provide a DNA sample for a national databank and register as a s*x offender for 10 years.

“At the same time, Fred, as ‘Benson’ also rang her up and informed her that if she pay the taxes as told, the customs officer would release his money and jewellery which they would spend in their future life,” the police Inspector added.

Man caught and murdered his wife’s lover on their matrimonial bed (photo)
Igbokwe was said to have killed Olatundun after he caught him having sex with his wife at their matrimonial home.
The suspect allegedly committed the offence at about 12am at Peace Lodge on Itura Street, Awa Ijebu, Ijebu-North Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The suspect, who committed the crime on Wednesday, July 27, was arrested by the police the following day.
Igbokwe and his 28-year-old wife were among the 23 suspects paraded at the Ogun State Police Command headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, on Thursday, for various offences ranging from murder to illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
Igbokwe, who said he was a businessman, explained that he had returned from his trip to Onitsha and met Victor on top of his wife on their matrimonial bed.
He said he picked a machete in the toilet and cut the victim in the neck and hand.
Olatundun reportedly died on the way to the hospital.
Igbokwe, who deals in electronics, said he was born in Ago Iwoye, Ogun State.
He said, “I travelled to Onitsha on July 25, and when I came back on July 27, I met a man inside my room making love to my wife. Then we started fighting. The man was stronger than me. When I saw he could overpower me, I got a cutlass in my toilet and dealt him blows in the hand and neck. On the way to the hospital, the fuel in the car finished and he died.”
Igbokwe said he committed the crime due to anger, adding that he never meant to kill the victim.
He claimed that he had never met Olatundun before, saying he also never suspected that his wife was having an extra-marital affair with anyone.
It was also gathered that Igbokwe and his wife, Juliet, have three children aged nine, seven and five.
Juliet, who sobbed intermittently, said her alleged lover had been pressurising her for a relationship for some time.
She explained that she had always told him she was married, but the victim never gave up until he ended up at their matrimonial home on that night.
Juliet, who said she sold snuff, said Victor was her supplier and he pestered her for six months before she finally gave in.
She said she suspected that the deceased used a charm on her, as she could not explain how it all happened.
She said, “He had been disturbing me that he wanted to marry me, but I said I was married.
“On the day of the incident, I really can’t say if he used a charm on me. All I know is that he called me that he wanted to see me and I told him not to come; he knew my house and when he came, I didn’t know what happened.
“He used to come and deliver snuff to me in the house. On the day of the incident, he told me he was coming from somewhere and that it was already late. He wanted to sleep in our place till the next day. He didn’t know that my husband was away. He tried to sleep with me, but later he didn’t.”
Juliet, who claimed that she got married to her husband in 2005, said the husband did not take good care of her and the children.
She said their marriage had been turbulent and fraught with fights and quarrels.
The mother of three said each time there was a fight, her husband would leave the house for months.
