He smells my pant anytime I come back from a journey - Wife seeking divorce tells court

A woman, Dasola Adeosun, has pleaded with Ile Tuntun Customary Court, Mapo Hall, Ibadan, Oyo State, to put an end to her union with her husband, Taiwo, whom she alleged on several occasions had attempted to use their only two-year-old child for money rituals and that he used to smell her pants and fingers her each time she travelled to check whether she had slept with another man.

According to Nigeria Tribune, Dasola said:
“My husband married me about three and a half years ago as a virgin and we gave birth to a child who is two-year-old, Emmanuel. We’ve separated for about one and a half years and he has not been responsible for our welfare. Whenever he beats me, he either
takes me to the hospital for treatment by himself or calls a nurse to come and set a drip for me in the house. I’ve tried to endure his excesses but it seems my patience does not pay any longer.
“After delivering my baby, he insisted on taking the child to his family house where unfortunately, my things were set on fire when a stick of matches was lit and thrown into my room through a window. It was after that incident that he told me he was taking the child to Lagos for money rituals. He took this step twice but he returned to me with the baby that he was told the child was not useful.
“Each time I asked him to give me money to take care of our child, he would say: “the child is not useful for me,” and since then I’ve been doing what I could for the child. I can’t dispute the fact that his sisters brought golden morn and milk for the child every month since he started feeding on them but it’s not enough.
“He paid no dowry on me before we became husband and wife because I was the one who ran,” Dasola told the court.
The defendant, Taiwo, denied the allegations. He said that his wife is promiscuous and stubborn.
“I observed that each time I go to my shop, my wife calls other men. She even uses my phone sometimes to make calls. I’ve tried to stop her but she’s been adamant.
“She’s stubborn, disobedient and wayward. Shortly after our marriage, we had a quarrel and she slapped me.”
The court, however, asked Taiwo if he ever beat his wife and what step his parents took.  He replied ‘I never beat her once.’

Dasola, however, opened up to the court that although Taiwo’s father has been intervening in their affairs since they got married, he withdrew at the point of provocation from his son. She said that Taiwo takes advantage of his father’s old age and opposes him each time he tries to make peace between them and that his mother is dead.

Not satisfied with his wife’s submissions, Taiwo said: “I’ve made a mistake getting married to you.”

President of the court, Chief Agbaje Henry Olasunkanmi, after listening to the couple, told them to bring their family members and the child, Emmanuel to the court on November 11 for judgement

Toke Benson reacts to accusations linking her to NNPC MD's stolen $6m cash and jewelry

Ms Toke Benson, alleged close friend to the NNPC Managing Director who was recently robbed by her cook of $6million has reacted to claims she introduced the alleged thief to the NNPC boss.
According to SaharaReporters, Gabel Segbedji, a national of Benin Republic, had taken off with Mrs Esther Nnadi-Ogbue's $6m in a Toyota Camry car which also belonged to her last Wednesday.

Sahara Reporters had said they gathered that Mrs. Nnamdi-Ogbue did not report the burglary to the
police, in the hope of avoiding further attention, as she was already under investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

And that Segbedji was said to have been recommended for employment to Mrs. Nnamdi-Ogbue by a close friend of hers, Toke Benson.

Toke has however denied that claim and says she does not know any of the persons/individuals mentioned above - Mrs Esther Nnadi-Ogbue and Gabel Segbedji.

Read the statement she just released below:

I write in respect of a publication by “Sahara Reporters” of 2nd November 2016  available online at http://saharareporters.com/2016/11/02/chef-nnpc-managing-director-esther-ogbue-absconds-6m-cash-and-jewelry with the caption; Chef of NNPC Managing Director Esther Ogbue absconds with $6m In Cash And Jewelry.
In the above referred publication, Sahara Reporters falsely reported as follows:
“Segbedji is said to have been recommended for employment to Mrs. Nnamdi-Ogbue by a close friend of hers, Toke Benson.”
I do not know any of the persons/individuals mentioned in the publication. I also did not recommend the said Mr. Gabel Segbedji or any other person(s) to Mrs. Esther Nnamdi – Ogbue or any other person(s) for employment. All of these show that the publication suggesting a relationship between her and the parties involved is indeed patently false.
By the words quoted above in their natural and ordinary meaning, Sahara Reporters meant and were understood by the public to mean that:
  • i. I am a close friend of a public officer whose lifestyle is inconsistent with her legitimate earnings;
  • ii. I recommended an alleged thief for employment hence my judgment is unreliable and cannot be trusted.
This report is substantially unfounded, very untrue and I want the public to totally disregard it.

Jayz & Beyonce Endorse Hilary Clinton

Jay Z and Beyonce just endorsed Hillary Clinton in the biggest way possible. On Friday, the get-out-the-vote campaign concert took place in Cleveland with star performances from the power pair, Chance The Rapper, J Cole and Big Sean.

The string of concerts have been designed to drive up the turnout among younger voters.
Speaking to the crowd, Beyonce - whose dancers all wore 'I'm with her' T-shirts - shared an impassioneed speech, saying she would like to see daughter Blue grow up seeing a "woman lead our country and know that her possibilities are limitless".

"Less than 100 years ago women did not have the right to vote," the mum-of-one said. "Look how far we've come from having no voice to being on the brink of making history - again - by electing the first woman president. But we have to vote.

"The world looks to us as a progressive country that leads change. Eight years ago I was so inspired to know that my nephew, a young black child, could grow up knowing his dreams could be realised by witnessing a black president in office.

"And now we have the opportunity to create more change. I want my daughter to grow up seeing a woman lead our country and know that her possibilities are limitless.

"We have to think about the future of our daughters, our sons, and vote for someone who cares for them as much as we do. And that is why I'm with her."

In response, Hillary said: "When I see them, hear this passion and energy and intensity, I don't even know where to begin. Because this is what America is, my fiends."

EFCC grills APC legal adviser, seizes his passport for allegedly giving a judge N500k

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, quizzed the National Legal Adviser of the All Progressives Congress, Dr. Muiz Banire (SAN), for about seven hours on Thursday.

The EFCC also seized his passport before releasing him on administrative bail.

It was learnt that Banire, who is a former Lagos State Commissioner for Transport, was quizzed for the alleged bribery of a judge.

The senior advocate was said to have transferred about N500,000 to Justice Terseer Agbadu-Fishim of the National Industrial Court.

A source told Punch that, “While detectives were probing Justice Fishim’s account, they discovered that Banire deposited money into the judge’s account. So, we invited him and he did not deny it. He only said the money was not a bribe.

“Banire was quizzed by the EFCC for several hours and his passport was seized from him. He will return for more questioning as investigations continue.”
In a text message he sent before he was invited by the EFCC, he admitted giving the judge money.

He, however, maintained that the money was not a bribe but he was merely helping the judge who was broke at the time.

Banire wrote, “Thank you for clarification sought. I have no official relationship with the said judge. I have never appeared before him in any matter and in fact, in my entire professional career, I have only recently a month ago appeared at the industrial court before a separate judge.

“He was an old friend in the 90s, who only called me up some years back to seek financial assistance due to his mother’s death. Beyond that, I have not seen him in the last 17 years.
