Sex-Starved Housewife Gets Divorce

                         
A sex-starved housewife, Sherifat Asimiyu, on Friday approached an Ibadan Customary Court sitting in Agodi to dissolve her 10-year-old marriage with Mr Saheed Asimiyu.

Sherifat told the court that apart from starving her of sex, Saheed was also in the habit of beating and biting her whenever they have domestic quarrels.

The complainant said she could no longer cope without sex, as her husband had not slept with her in the last six months.

“There is no doubt about his ability to provide food, money and other material things for me and the two children of the union but I am not satisfied with all these without sex. He abandoned me deliberately, I cannot take it anymore because I am still young and I see no reason for his action.


“To make the issue worst, he was in the habit of beating and biting me whenever we have misunderstanding over minor issues,” she alleged.

The husband, who is a motor spare parts dealer, admitted that he had starved his wife of sex, as he was on “sex strike” in the last one month, to punish the woman for her bad character.

According to him, his action is to punish the complainant and make her to turn a new leaf.
The husband told the court that he had warned her several times to stop associating with bad friends, but had ignored him.

Saheed also told the court that he would not prevent his wife from getting the divorce she asked for, “if that is what will make her satisfied”.

Mukaila Balogun, the president of the court upheld the prayer of the woman and approved the dissolution of the marriage.

The judge ordered the defendant to be paying N6,000 to Sherifat as monthly allowance for the upkeep of their two children.

Kcee’s manager Soso Soberekon along with his boys on Thursday, December 1, reportedly blocked Harrysong’s manager Desmond Ike and another crew member, Bishop and beat them up.

Naij is reporting that Harrysong’s manager, Desmond, told them that while they were leaving the birthday party of the president of Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick which was held at Parkview estate, Ikoyi, Lagos, Soso followed him outside while he was trying to go drive the car and started assaulting him.

He added that, Soso accused him of making Harrysong quit the record label but before he could say 
anything, Soso and his boys pounced on him and the other crew member.

At that point, Harrysong who was waiting for Desmond to bring the car came towards the scene but it took the intervention of some comedians to stop Soso and his boys from assaulting Harrysong and his boys.

Desmond also revealed that, ever since Harrysong left the label he has been receiving death threats from Soso.

Court Orders MTN To Pay 63 Sacked Staff 4yrs Salary and Post-Disengagement Benefits

                  

The Lagos Division of the National Industrial Court has ordered MTN Nigeria to pay full four years post-disengagement salaries to 63 workers, who were laid off by the company in 2009.

The court presided over by Justice P.O. Lifu ordered MTN to pay judgment credit sum within 30 days from October 26, 2016 when the judgment was delivered, failing which the judgment credit would attract an annual interest of 10 percent. 

Punch reports that the court also awarded additional N10,000 against MTN in favour of each of the 63 workers to cover the cost of filing the suit.

The claimants in the suit are Harrison Ossai, Gabriel Ameh and Stephen Mahaja, who sued on behalf of themselves and 60 other workers laid off by MTN with the condition that they must never work with any other telecommunication company for four years after their disengagement. The claimants had, in their suit, claimed to have been subjected to financial hardship on account of the restraint of trade imposed on them by MTN.

Ossai, in his testimony before the court, said the trade restraint imposed by MTN bungled his chances of being employed by Globacom and Airtel, which were other telecommunication companies, adding that after being sacked by MTN, he was jobless for six years. Like other claimants, he urged the court to order MTN to pay him N10m and another N20m for filing the suit.

In his judgment, Justice Lifu said he was “satisfied that the claimants had proved their claims before the court as to the oppressive and unreasonableness of the restraint of trade covenant for four years for making and leaving the claimants hard and dry for four years.”

The judge held, “Terminating the employment of the claimants and at the same time restricting them from seeking any employment from the sector generally and preventing them to be acting as agents or adviser or to engage in any other concern directly or indirectly for four years is clearly unreasonable in the light of global economic challenges occasioned by recession, which has resulted in mass unemployment.”

The judge ruled that each of the workers was entitled to be paid his last gross salary for four years after being sacked and ordered MTN to pay.

Exclusive...President of Gambia defeated by opposition candidate

After ruling his country for 22 years, President Yahya Jammeh of Gambia suffered a shocking defeat in the Presidential election. He has conceded defeat to opposition leader Adama Barrow, the chairman of the electoral commission said on Friday, AFP reports.

“It’s really unique that someone who has been ruling this country for so long has accepted defeat,” Alieu Momar Njie Chairman of the Independent Electoral Commission told reporters.

This comes after the opposition candidate Adama Barrow took a massive lead after almost 75 per cent of votes had been counted in Gambian presidential voting, threatening President Yahya Jammeh’s 22-year-rule, the electoral commission said on Friday.

Mr. Barrow, who has the support of seven political parties, had won 22 out of 53 constituencies or 138,148 votes in Thursday’s presidential polls.

According to the commission, incumbent Jammeh won 14 out of 53 constituencies or 126,587 votes.

Mrs. Jill Iyuadoo Tor-Agbidye, wife of Mr Achia Tor Agbidye, the Zonal Manager of First City Monument Bank (FCMB), was kidnapped this morning, 2nd December, 2016, at their residence at New GRA along Abu King Shuluwa road in Makurdi, Benue State.

According to reports, the assailants were four in number and they seized Mrs Tor-Agbidye's SUV in the operation and they drove off with her.

Her abductors who were reported to be all males are yet to contact her family members as at the time of reporting. With the nature of their action, there is a possibility they must have discreetly placed her on surveillance for a long time.

The woman is a staff of Radio Benue, Makurdi.
