Lady Narrates How She Was Mugged On Eko Bridge
The ceo of TasalaHQ salon, Dupe Talabi expressed her ordeal with robbers on Instagram. She was robbed on Eko Bridge yesterday night by six men. Read what she wrote after the cut..
"The most traumatising thing that has EVER happened in my life happened this evening. After an amazing day at @tfdseries , I was stuck in traffic on eko bridge, literally 5 mins away from home. Next thing I know both the front and back windows of my car were smashed in by armed robbers. My driver was driving and I was in the back. There were 2 on each side and 2 on standby literally just grabbing everything they could from the car. My handbag and another bag. One even grabbed my wrist as my phone was in my hand. @bsrasaki@fifidilly this was while I was chatting with you guys. It happened so fast I could not even comprehend what was going on. My driver immediately got out of the car and told me to get in the drivers seat and drive home immediately. I was so shaken I couldn't move at first but had to snap out of it. The saddest part is that no one tried to help as my driver attempted to hold one of them down. There were so many cars and people on the road but everyone just looked on. I thank God that we are both safe, alive and well. Everything that was lost was material and the car can be fixed. I've heard these stories before but in my 4 years of living in Nigeria, this was a first for me. Apparently these things happen more during the festive season. Please let us all be extra careful and vigilant. These are hard times in Nigeria and people are desperate. Keep safe!! I'm just super grateful to God that we were not physically harmed. The thieves can enjoy rocking my handbag and my possessions for all I care 😔 #staysafe#Nigeria"

Woman Slaps Female Police Officer Inside Police Station
Yinka reportedly slapped Josephine, who is attached to the Onipanu Police Division, while she was being interrogated in respect of a case of stealing and burglary reported by one Bidemi Balogun.
It was said that Bidemi, a resident of Mother Joy College Road, Ewupe, Ota, had reported to the police that some miscreants burgled her warehouse in the Fowobi area of Ota on Tuesday and made away with jerrycans of vegetable oil and bags of rice worth N469,000.
According to Punch, detectives, who visited the warehouse, recovered a mobile phone. Investigation was said to have indicted Yinka the slapper, and she was invited to the station.
“The complainant said 10 jerrycans of 25 litres vegetable oil valued at N140,000 and 21 bags of rice worth N329,000 were stolen from the warehouse. She shares the warehouse with other traders in the community,” a police source said.
According to the police, the suspect reportedly admitted entering the warehouse around 4.30am on the day to pack some goods she bought and kept therein the previous day from one Tinuke, but insisted that she met it burgled.
“During the interrogation, the suspect said the warehouse was already broken into when she got there. The Investigating Police Officer (Makinde), asked her why she came at that time to convey the goods when she knew the owners of the warehouse would not be around. She became angry and slapped the IPO,” the source added.
The suspect was subsequently arraigned in Ota Magistrate’s Court on one count of assault.
Yinka pleaded not guilty and elected summary trial.
The presiding magistrate, Mrs. Adeola Adelaja, granted her bail in the sum of N100,000.
Adjourning the case till February 6, 2017, the magistrate held that Yinka should be kept in prison pending when her bail conditions would be perfected.

MMM top guider Chuddy Ugorji finally reacts to alleged MMM crash
Chuddy Ugorji, according to his wife, brought MMM to Nigeria. 3 days after the website froze participants' accounts sparking reports that MMM has crashed, Chuddy has finally addressed his members.
According to him, he woke up on Tuesday and saw the news that accounts have been frozen for a month just like every other person. Chuddy explained that he has always encouraged members to provide help only with their SPARE MONEY and also get help at the end of 30 days.
He is hoping MMM comes back healthier and stronger in 2017. Read his statement below.
Meanwhile, his wife has deleted the open letter she wrote to Nigerians from her Facebook page.
Goodday great mavrodians,
This week has not been easy for all of us due to the news update on our POs
As we all know ,the media has been a tool used by anti-MMMites and pessimists to fight against the growth of MMM Nigeria. Unfortunately some ignorant Nigerians who don't understand what MMM is all about have been brainwashed by the information broadcasted by the media and social networks
Regarding the frozen mavro.
It is clearly stated on the news section on the website
Confirmed Mavro will be frozen for A MONTH .
The reason for this measure is evident. The system needs to prevent any problems that might arise during this festive season and this measure will be cancelled once the festive season comes to an end.
Frozen of mavros does not mean MMM has stopped operations or crashed rather the system has adopted this measure to avoid any mishaps. The support system are working on issues to enhance the effectiveness of the community.
Also let's note that contrary to what has been published by cheap bloggers, Am not the Admin of MMM but one of the top guiders of this great community. And non of us has access to the site, I woke up on Tuesday and saw the News on my PO like every other person.
The MMM website is been managed in Russia by their control and supervisory team. They are responsible for every decision made, like pairing of participants to provide help and get help, resolving issues on the platform etc.
I have always been passionate about tutoring members and guiders about the ideology of MMM , the rules and the risk; I have encouraged members to provide help only with their SPARE MONEY and also get help at the end of 30 days.
The reason members have to continue in this pattern of provide help and get help process is to ensure the sustainability of the system, because the platform is a peer to peer system, members knows that they own the system and pay only to themselves, There is no CENTRAL ACCOUNT.
.
Regarding getting help, every guider in the MMM community has a limit to withdrawal and I have never made withdrawals above my limit ,rather have always helped to ensure the growth of MMM Nigeria community.
Instead I have given more to the community through charity works and teaching of the ideology of MMM.
Bloggers who get paid for promoting rumour, when ignorant Nigerians click on their blogs , Google Ad sense pays them per click. Hence they seized this opportunity to enrich themselves even when most of them are participants and have taken more from the community, many of them are involved in uploading Fake Pop's and multiple accounts all in the bid to frustrate the programme of the community and that is part of what is been looked into and it would be stop so that we have a healthy and stronger MMM NIGERIA in 2017.
MMM founder is a Russian Sergey Mavrodi not a Philippines. I have never been to Philippines ,the stories about going to the Philippines are untrue.
I stand for the true ideology of MMM which is anchored on providing and getting help willingly.
Let's hope the best and STOP the PANIC! We shall overcome by God's grace .
We’re not responsible for economic meltdown, FG tells Nigerians
The Federal Government, yesterday, told Nigerians that the current administration under President Muhammadu Buhari was not to be blamed for the current economic woes of the country.
It said that it was on a rescue mission to right the wrongs of the past governments. This came as the 36 state governors have agreed to cut down the size of their convoys, excessive travels amongst others to fight recession.
These were the highlights of the meeting of the National Economic Council, NEC chaired by Vice
President Yemi Osinbajo at the presidential Villa, Abuja.
The Federal Government’s self exoneration is coming barely one week after the National Chairman of the ruling party, All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief John Oyegun, admitted that some first missteps of the government upon assumption of office May 2015 affected the country’s economy negatively.
Similarly, Imo State governor, Mr. Rocahs Okoroacha, who is also an APC governor, it will be recalled, recently accepted blames for the economic downturn on behalf of APC.
But briefing State House Correspondents at the end of Wednesday meeting of the National Economic Council, NEC, Minister of Budget and National Planning, Mr. Udo Udoma alongside Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State and Anambra State Deputy Governor, Mr. Nkem Okeke absolved the Federal Government from blames, saying the APC government was on a rescue mission.
He said:
“We did not and are not responsible for the current economic situation we find ourselves. We are actually a rescue team, a team working to rescue Nigeria from the position we find ourselves in.
Under President Buhari, we are determined to take Nigeria out of the situation. The situation started long before we came. As you know, oil price started falling from 2014 when it was about $110 and by January this year, it was below $30. Unfortunately, they did not save.
We are determined to take Nigeria from a consuming nation to a producing nation. That is why we are developing an economy recovery plan and that is our focus. We are committed to success.”

In Apapa, Top LASTMA Officer Was Killed by Mob
There was confusion in the Liverpool, Apapa area of Lagos on Thursday after an irate mob lynched a commander of the Lagos State Transport Management Agency (LASTMA), Mr. Bakare Olatunji.
It was learnt that Olatunji, who was the zonal head of the agency in the Apapa area, had led a team of officials to the area in a patrol van to arrest erring motorists at about 11am.
It was that tanker drivers, who parked vehicles on the road fled on sighting the enforcement agents.
Unfortunately, the LASTMA van was said to have ran into an assistant driver (motor boy) while he struggled to escape arrest. The boy, whose name had yet to be ascertained, was reportedly sleeping by the roadside.
He died on the spot.
Angered by the boy’s death, his friends were said to have regrouped and went on the rampage, killing Officer Olatunji in the process.
A mechanic in the area, Uthman Salau, told Punch that another LASTMA official was injured, while others fled the scene.
He said, “The drivers were relaxing around 10.30am when they saw a LASTMA van approaching. They felt the officials had come to arrest them for parking vehicles indiscriminately. So, they ran away. A motor boy, who was sleeping beside a tanker, was woken up by the commotion. Before he could escape from the spot, the LASTMA van hit him and he died instantly.
“One of the drivers, who saw the boy lying in a pool of blood, called his colleagues and they stormed the scene with cutlasses, bottles and all sorts of weapons. The officials fled with the van except their team leader (Olatunji). They stabbed him to death.”
However, an eyewitness, who gave his name only as Issa, said the operatives had flagged down a motorist, who refused to stop, adding that the agency’s van knocked down the boy as they gave the driver a chase.
“LASTMA agents are fond of extorting money from motorists on roads around here. Their leader waited behind after his men had fled, thinking that he could pacify the angry youth. But he was not lucky. They killed him,” he said.
A driver, who did not disclose his name, said he got to the scene after Olatunji had been killed.
“I am not sure whether the LASTMA officials were chasing somebody or not. What I learnt was that the boy was killed by their van, which sparked off the protest and the eventual killing of one of the officials,” he added.
A LASTMA official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said his colleagues had been under fire for lax enforcement which made them to intensify operations in the area.
He said, “Ordinarily, they would not have gone for operations in that area. However, two weeks ago, the management was angry that we have not performed to expectation in terms of enforcement. Each zone was asked to generate N12m by December 19. So, we are under pressure to deliver. That is the reality we are battling with.”
LASTMA spokesperson, Mahmud Hassan, said investigation had commenced to ascertain the cause of the incident. He, however, refuted the claim that the agency was mandated to generate revenue.
He said, “I can confirm his (Olatunji’s) death. We are still investigating and I will get back to you. The Lagos State Government did not set up LASTMA as a revenue generation agency. We are there to provide services to the good people of the state. So, we are not after generating revenue. What we are after is safety on Lagos roads and our men are professional. That is our primary duty and responsibility and that is what we have been doing day and night.
“No target is given to anybody. We are not compelled under any circumstance to meet certain target at a particular time of the month or year.”
The Lagos Police PRO, SP Dolapo Badmos, said the case was under investigation.

See photos from the world's most overcrowded jail
In the world's most overcrowded jail, cells built for 30 people are crammed with up to 130 criminals.
With barely any space to move, convicts can be seen glumly staring from behind bars as every inch of space is used.
These shocking images show how a bloody drugs war in the Philippines is forcing jails to breaking point with dozens of criminals packed into tiny cells.
An investigation by Sky News reveals that Quezon City Jail currently has more than 3,000 inmates within its walls - despite being built to only house 800.
President Rodrigo Duterte has pledged to beat drugs in the nation by any means necessary.
His crackdown has seen more than 40,000 drug-related arrests since July but the impact on jails has meant many inmates are forced to sleep in recreation areas as there is no room whatsoever in cells.
Crammed in like battery cage hens, more than 130 people sleep in cells built for no more than 30.
Lying side by side, the criminals do not even have enough room to stretch out.
As many as 10 people will also share a single bunk.
