Ladies Contesting for A Pageant Disqualified for Being Beauties Without Brains

All the contestants of the 2016 Most Beautiful Girl in Nnewi pageant held on December 30, 2016 were disqualified by the sponsor of the pageant, business mogul Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah for failing to meet up to expectations – and that’s putting it mildly.
The show which took place in Nnewi, was all glitz and glamour as the beautiful ladies representing the various communities in the industrial town paraded the catwalk in their finest attires.

Things however took a sour and embarrassing turn when it was time for them to showcase their intelligence (or in this case, lack of it) during the questions session...
The audience and organisers were left in shock when none of the girls could answer any of the questions they were asked.

Speaking to The Star, Princewill Atasie, one of the organisers of the pageant explained that the questions were surprisingly, very easy questions like ‘What is the name of the Nigerian president?’, ‘who is the traditional ruler of Nnewi?‘ and so on but the girls all had ‘no idea’ what to say.

He went on to say that "the only girl who got close enough to getting an answer right said the name of the Nigerian president is Dr. Mohammed Buhari.”

Feeling disappointed and embarrassed by their display of dumbness, Dr. Ubah took back the brand new car which he had promised to give to the winner and advised the girls to go back to school.

And to aid their quick return to school (maybe), he shared the cash value of the car prize to the wannabe-beauty queens.

50 year-old man finally admits raping 5-year-old girl in Abuja

A 50-year-old man, Teacher Senior, of Area 11, Garki, has been remanded for raping a five-year-old girl.
NAN reports a Gudu Upper Area Court in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, on Wednesday ordered his remand in prison custody after he admitted to the crime in the following words: “Okay, I did it.”

The prosecuting counsel, Joshua Ayanna, had told the court that one Hauwa Hamin of Kubwa Phase IV, reported the matter at Garki police station on January 1, 2017.

Mr. Ayanna said that on the day in question, the complainant and her five-year-old daughter visited her sister at Area 11, Garki.

He said that when they were about to leave, her daughter went outside and it was then that the Teacher Senior deceived her and took her inside his room where he forcefully had carnal knowledge
of her.

“During police investigation, it was revealed that he removed her trouser and inserted his penis inside her vagina,” Mr. Ayanna said.
The prosecutor said that the offence was contrary to Section 283 of the Penal Code.

The trial judge, Umar Kagarko, after citing relevant sections of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015, said that rape was a capital offence which attracted a minimum of 25 years in prison.

He thereby rejected the defendant’s plea of guilt, ordering his remand in prison till March 1, for the commencement of the trial.

A bank customer identified as Raymond Agada has been shot dead by armed robbers around the Swali market area, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
It was gathered that the robbers also stole N120,000 from the victim before killing him.
Agada was said to be on his way to deposit the money in an undisclosed commercial bank in Yenagoa when the hoodlums rounded him up and attacked him.

A source, who spoke in confidence to the TheNation, said the victim’s sister, a known trader in the market instructed him to pay the money into the account number of her creditors.

“The late Agada has been running similar errands for his sister. He does it on daily basis. His sister receives goods on credit from her customers and after selling them, she pays the money into the account of her customers, most times through her brother.
“It is like persons who attacked him had monitored the transactional process for sometimes. It is a pity”.
It was learnt that the victim was attacked at about 11 am, by a four-man gang shortly after he left the market. He was reportedly shot in the neck by his assailants.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr Asinim Butswat, who confirmed the incident said the deceased was 20-year-old adding that Agada was killed on Tuesday.
