South Africa will face the biggest natural disaster for arresting Pastor Omotosho

Coming after reports of the arrest of the South Africa based Nigerian Pastor, Tim Omotosho, for molesting more than 30 girls in his church went viral, one of his church members has taken to social media to warn South Africa of the "biggest natural disaster" that awaits them, for arresting the 58-year-old flamboyant evangelist.
it should be recalled that Pastor Tim, who has churches in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Bloemfontein, among others, was arrested at the Port Elizabeth Airport on Thursday, for allegedly trafficking more than 30 girls and women, who were from various branches of his church to a house in Umhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal where he allegedly sexually exploited them. The Pastor who went into hiding and destroying the 3 lines linked to him before his arrest, appeared in court on Friday but was denied bail.

EXCLUSIVE-Nnamdi Kanu Granted Bail

A federal high court in Abuja has granted bail to Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). Justice Binta Nyako granted Kanu bail on “health grounds”.

Kanu, alongside other three pro-Biafra agitators, has been facing trial for treason. The other Biafran agitators are Chidiebere Onwudiwe, Benjamin Madubugwu and David Nwawuisi.

Nyako had earlier quashed six of the charges against them, but she sustained that of treason.

Ayo Fayose, governor of Ekiti state, had earlier joined Kanu at the court. Journalists were barred from witnessing the proceedings by the operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS).

Femi Fani-Kayode was also barred from entering the court room where the case was held.

Man Trapped Inside A 160ft Well In Lagos Rescued

Tragedy was averted on Tuesday morning when a 45-year-old man was evacuated from a well. The incident occurred around 6.35 a.m. at No. 38 Kujore Street Ojota, Lagos.

Sources said the man, whose name is still unknown as at press time, was found inside the 160ft well, but the process leading to the event could not be ascertained.

Officials of the Lagos State Fire Service, LASEMA Response Team and other emergency responders, however, responded to the situation and rescued the man alive from the well.

However, the man sustained a right femoral fracture and left knee joint dislocation, sources said.

He has been moved to hospital for treatment by the officials of the Lagos Ambulance Service.

The General Manager LASEMA, Adesina Tiamiyu, who noted that proper investigation would be conducted on the incident, also advised Lagosian to report any strange activities around their environment to the relevant agencies or call the 767/112 emergency toll free number.

Doctor who prescribed drugs for Davido's late uncle, arrested

Yesterday we brought you a report, that Davido's late uncle, Isiaka Adeleke, who is also a serving Senator, died of an overdose of painkillers.

However, latest gist is that the one Dr. Ade, who prescribed the drug to him after he complained of leg pain, has been arrested. Daily Post also reported that the family of the deceased, will not make the
case against the Doctor public due to the sensitive nature of the situation. Recall that Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, on Monday, prevented a crowd of sympathisers at the Ede, Osun State, country home of late Adeleke, from lynching Ms Idia Babalola, Special Adviser to Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, during the burial ceremony of the late Senator at his country home.

Lagos big lady declared wanted by NDLEA for drug trafficking

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has declared a Lagos big lady, Fumilola Ogbuaya, aka Arike Fumilola Ogundipe, wanted in connection with drug trafficking.

She's implicated in a case of botched exportation of 1.6 kilogrammes of cocaine to Saudi Arabia in February 2017 through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

The woman was also accused of allegedly using proceeds of drugs to acquire property.

The NDLEA Commander at Lagos airport, Ahmadu Garba, said one Odeyemi Morayo, aka Ariyo Monsurat Olabisi, arrested by the agency implicated Madam Funmilola during investigation.

He said, “Mrs. Fumilola Ogbuaya, aka Arike Fumilola Ogundipe, a Lagos socialite has ignored an invitation by the NDLEA. Her Lagos residence was traced by a team of investigators, but she was not at home. Since the visit to her Lagos residence, she had not been to that house and had also not reported to the NDLEA office.

“The agency is investigating several landed properties worth several billions of naira traced to Mrs. Ogbuaya in Lagos, Ogun and Osun states. The assets include Arike Plaza, some plots of land and buildings in strategic locations. The Lagos socialite, who is a distributor of alcoholic drinks, is needed by the NDLEA in an ongoing investigation. She hails from Ilesa, Osun State.”

The NDLEA Chairman, Col. Muhammad Abdallah (retd.), urged members of the public with information on her whereabouts to report to the nearest NDLEA office, adding that the case would be pursued to a logical conclusion.

Lagos Landlord Beats Wife To Death

Residents of Solar Power Drive, Igbo Olomu, in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State are in shock after a landlord in the community, Omolaja Sodipo, allegedly stabbed his wife, Titilayo, killing her.

Sympathisers, friends and family members of the mother of four, trooped to their bungalow on Monday, where Titilayo laid in a pool of blood. The husband was said to have fled the scene.

Community leaders reportedly alerted policemen from the Owutu division, who removed the corpse and deposited it in a mortuary.


A Punch correspondent, who visited the scene, observed residents discussing the incident. The police had locked up the building.

Although most of the neighbours refused to comment on the tragedy, Punch Metro gathered that the couple had been married for over seven years.

The relationship was said to be fraught with disagreements, which usually resulted in domestic violence.

A resident, who did not want to be identified, said the disagreements always bordered on the welfare of their four children.

He said, “They came into this community some years ago after building their house. The man, who was formerly dealing in telephone accessories, had been jobless for some time. His wife worked with a private school after giving birth to their fourth child two years ago.

“But they were always at loggerheads, which led to the man beating up the wife. The man is short-tempered and it appeared the frustration of his joblessness also got into him. We always heard their voices anytime they were quarrelling.

“Last night, we heard them fighting again. In the morning, we discovered that the woman had been stabbed in different parts of her body. She was lying lifeless in a pool of blood.”

A community leader, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the victim’s mother lamented that her daughter had been complaining  that her husband was always beating her.

A female resident, who did not want to be identified, told Punch Metro that she sighted the suspect walking away from the house around 8am.

Punch Metro learnt that the eldest of the couple’s four children is only five years old.

A member of the Women Arise for Change Initiative, Obatungashe Adebayo, who spoke for the President, Dr Joe Oke-Odumakin, called for justice for the deceased, urging women in violent relationship to quit before it was too late.

He said, “This is the reason we have been campaigning against gender-based violence. It is becoming rampant. Marriage is not by force. It is certain that before this incident happened, the woman must have been seeing signs that the man could take her life. If you are engaged in a relationship that threatens your life, you should quit.”

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Olarinde Famous-Cole,  said, “We are still searching for the man.  The woman’s corpse has been deposited in a morgue for autopsy.”

Lady who attempted committing suicide by jumping off 3rd Mainland Bridge, arraigned in court

              

Mrs Taiwo Titilayo Momoh, who was saved by officers of the Lagos State Police Command, after she attempted to commit suicide by jumping off the Third Mainland Bridge, she has been arraigned before Magistrate T. A. Elias, of  Ebute Metta Magistrate Court in Lagos today, by the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (CIID), Yaba, on a one-count charge of attempted suicide.

Her charge reads;
 
"That you Titilayo Momoh ‘f’ on the 24th day of March, 2017 at about 10:00 hours at Third Mainland Bridge, Lagos did attempt to commit suicide by jumping into the lagoon and thereby committed an offence under Section 235 Cap C17, Volume 3 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015."
The 51-year-old textile trader, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge of attempted suicide, and was granted N500, 000 bail. The presiding Magistrate, further ordered that the defendant be made to undergo psychiatric evaluation,  before her next court appearance.

A Nigerian man has taken to Facebook, Mike Anders, to lash out at those who died in Calabar after a high tension wire fell on a football viewing center. According to Mike, those who died paid the price for being unpatriotic, as they choose foreign football over national football. He further disclosed that it's either you are a patriotic Nigerian ready to uphold her honour and glory, or a saboteur committing felony.

Court Seizes Senator’s House Over Alleged N1.5bn Contract Scam

The Federal High Court in Lagos on Monday ordered the temporary seizure of a 12-storeyed building belonging to the senator representing Delta North Senatorial District, Peter Nwaoboshi, over an alleged contract scam of N1.5bn.

The said building which the court ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to seize from Nwaoboshi, a Peoples Democratic Party member, is located at 27, Marine Road, Apapa.

Justice Abdulaziz Anka made the seizure order after entertaining an ex parte application brought before him on Monday by the anti-graft agency.

Joined with Nwaoboshi in the application were his two companies, Golden Touch Construction Project Limited, and Bilderberg Enterprises Limited.


The EFCC told the judge that Nwaoboshi, through his company, Bilderberg Enterprises Limited, got a N1.580bn contract to supply some construction equipment to the Delta State Direct Labour Agency sometime in 2010.

The anti-graft agency, however, claimed that Nwaoboshi’s company supplied second-hand equipment to the agency while he actually collected money to supply new equipment, thereby short-changing the agency.

The EFCC claimed that Nwaoboshi later used the proceeds of the alleged scam to bid for and purchase the 12-storeyed building, formerly known as Guinea House, for the sum of N805m in the name of his company, Golden Touch Construction Project Limited.

Arguing the ex parte application on Monday, the EFCC’s lawyer, George Chia-Yakua, said it was in the interest of justice to order the temporary seizure of the building pending the outcome of investigation and criminal trial of Nwaoboshi and his companies.

He said the seizure order being sought was compliant with Section 44(2)(k) of the constitution and sections 28 and 29 of the EFCC (Establishment) Act 2004.

After listening to the lawyer, the judge ordered the temporary forfeiture of Nwaoboshi’s building.
