“My brother, Musiliu Obanikoro’s decision to join the APC saddens me-Fani Kayode Condemn Obanikoro Defection to APC

A former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has described as saddening the defection of a former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, to the All Progressives Congress.

Obanikoro and Fani-Kayode spent about a month together in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in October last year.

While Obanikoro was under investigation for allegedly receiving N4.7bn from the Office of the National Security Adviser, Fani-Kayode is being prosecuted for allegedly receiving over N800m when he was the spokesman for the Goodluck Jonathan Campaign Organisation.

However, Fani-Kayode said it was unfortunate that Obanikoro would agree to join the camp of those who had been persecuting him.

He said, “My brother, Musiliu Obanikoro’s decision to join the APC irks and saddens me. I say this because I have always loved him and I care.

You cannot fight evil by joining it. You cannot bring light by entering the darkness. You cannot find joy by partaking in the bread of sorrows.

“You cannot run away in the heat of battle. You must have the courage of your convictions. Where is your honour? Where is your strength? Where is your dignity? Where is your self-respect? Where is your sense of self-worth?

“You and I are royalty. We are princes and kings and children of the living God. We were taught and brought up to fight to the end and never to bow to the enemy.”

North Korea Detains Another American Over Alleged Hostile Acts

North Korea on Sunday said it detained another American citizen over unspecified hostile acts against the country.

North Korea's official Korean Central News Agency said Kim Hak Song, an employee of the Pyongyang University of Science and Technology, was detained Saturday.

North Korea on Wednesday announced the detention of an accounting instructor at the same university, Kim Sang Dok, for "acts of hostility aimed to overturn" the country. The KCNA didn't say whether the two cases are connected.

"A relevant institution is now conducting detailed investigation into his crimes," the KCNA said about Kim Hak Song.

Kim Hak Song is among at least four Americans being detained in North Korea. The others are Otto Warmbier, serving a 15-year prison term with hard labor for alleged anti-state acts, and Kim Dong Chul, serving a 10-year term with hard labor for alleged espionage.

Kim Sang Dok, the former accounting instructor at the Pyongyang university, was arrested at the Pyongyang International Airport on April 22, the KCNA said.

It said he was "intercepted for committing criminal acts" to overthrow the North's government, but didn't elaborate.

The Pyongyang University of Science and Technology is the only privately funded university in North Korea and is unique for having a large number of foreign staff.

Washington, Seoul and others often accuse North Korea of using foreign detainees to wrest diplomatic concessions, which in recent years have involved high-profile American missions sent to secure the release of the Americans.

North Korea's announcement of the detainments comes amid tensions over fears that Pyongyang is preparing another round of nuclear or missile tests and comments.

U.S. President Donald Trump has further spiked animosity by saying he isn't ruling out military action against the North, although Trump has also said he would be willing to talk with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un under the right circumstances.

North Korea on Friday accused the U.S. and South Korean spy agencies of an unsuccessful assassination attempt on leader Kim Jong Un involving biochemical weapons.

Nude photos of Rwanda's female presidential candidate leaked (18 )

Nude photos of Diane Shima Rwigara, could be breaking the internet, but possibly, not her spirit.

The Rwandan presidential candidate on Friday morning was shocked to learn about her private naked photographs were making rounds around the world.

The move to humiliate the woman, who has recently boldly come out to attack President Paul Kagame’s bad governance, is likely to attract criticism from women rights activists.

The 35-year-old tough talking woman is a daughter of the late Assinapol Rwigara. He died in a motor accident in 2015...Continue after the cut

It is hardly a week since she announced her presidential ambitions and a photo bomb has fallen on her.

In the conservative Rwandan society, Ms Rwigara is likely to get shunned by moralists, while the youth might warm up to her candidature but for only excitement.

However, analysts ask, “who will take seriously a woman who finds idle time to take nude photos?”

Nudes are not new in Uganda, but no high profile woman has been rudely exposed to this extent. This has been a territory for musicians, socialites and corporate prostitutes.

How Rwigara will respond to this photo bomb will tell a lot about the substance she is made of. For now, an innocent act such as this is a little set back to the fire she had infused into her campaign

Adeleke’s Family Rejects Aregbesola’s Inquest Into Senator’s Death

The family of Senator Isiaka Adeleke, has rejected the coroner inquest instituted by Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola into the death of the first civilian governor of the state.

The immediate younger brother of the deceased, Deji Adeleke, who read the family’s address at a press briefing in his residence in Ede on Sunday, said the outcome of the inquest had been predetermined.

The briefing also has Ademola; Dupe Adeleke-Sani and other members of the family in attendance.

Deji Adeleke said, ” The family hereby denounces in its entirety the ill advised and self serving coroner’s inquest ordered by the Osun State Government purportedly set up to determine the cause of death of our dearly beloved Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke.

“We condemn in strictest terms the continuous politicization attempts by the state of this great loss to our family, particularly the ordering of this inquest at a time we are still coming to terms with the harsh reality of his sudden departure and the pain and grief therefrom.

“We have been reliably informed by credible sources that the outcome of the kangaroo inquest is already predetermined by the state and designed to serve its own interest with distorted facts and misinformation which will clearly not be in the interest of the good people of Osun in general and the Adeleke family in particular.”

Adeleke died in early of Sunday April 23 after he was said to have attended to guests till around 2:am the same day.

Prisoner Want S3X DOLLS Allowed In Jails So Convicts Can Enjoy A Bit Of Passion

A prisoner is campaigning for sex dolls to be allowed in jails so inmates can enjoy 'a bit of passion' behind bars.

Convict Jack Swarez, who is in HMP Lowdham Grange in Nottinghamshire, believes sex dolls could improve behavior by helping pent-up men release testosterone.

He even claims the idea won't cost the government a penny because convicts would be willing to pay from their own pockets.

Swarez wrote in prison website Inside Time: 'The trouble is, our prisons are full of young men filled with testosterone who would give their right arm for a bit of passion.

The frustration of this situation inevitably makes these young men restless and wanting to cause mischief.

'I have a proposal that should be given careful consideration. It might help to alleviate this ongoing problem and, in turn, help to de-stress the wings of every establishment the length and breadth of our nation.

It came about when I was watching a documentary on Channel 4 that showed grown men who live with rubber, blow-up dolls. I noticed that all of these men looked very happy and stress-free.

'Furthermore, as these doll women would have to be manually blown-up, all of the inmates who have been forced to pack-in smoking due to the ban, will automatically exercise their lungs, which could help repair the damage that smoking has caused. It's a win-win situation!

'Inmates could spend their bang-up time together with their rubberised partner. They could enjoy date nights, watch the soaps together, listen to music – everything that you would normally do with your partner.'

“After months of patient negotiations, our security agencies have taken back these abducted girls in exchange for some Boko Haram suspects held by the authorities.

“The Girls are due tomorrow in Abuja to be received by the President.

Gospel Artistes Protest Exclusion From Lagos @ 50 Celebration

That Lagos State is the entertainment capital of Nigeria would not attract any debate.

So when it was announced that the state would be celebrating its 50th anniversary, many were not surprised that entertainers were the most featured group in its activities, especially the billboards that adorn many parts of the state.

Some of the showbiz personalities that have been celebrated are Joke Silva, Olamide, Adewale Ayuba, K1 de Ultimate, KSA, Desmond Elliot, among others.

However, gospel musicians in the state are not particularly pleased with the state government for excluding them from the celebrations.

In a chat with Sunday Scoop, the governor of the Lagos State chapter of the Gospel Musicians Association of Nigeria, Raphael Babalola, said, “We are usually sidelined in events like this so we are used to it. But it’s not proper; we should have been involved fully.

Lagos State is home to all, so where are the people that have been praying for the peace of this state and praising God? Why is it that when it’s time to celebrate, we are now kept aside?”
Opelope Annointing singer, Dunni Olanrewaju also expressed displeasure at the non-invitation of gospel singers.

“I feel that gospel artistes should be given a day out of the programme to praise and thank God for sustaining Lagos since inception.

God has really been good to this state and that’s why we said even if the state does not include us in its program, we, gospel musicians resident in Lagos, would organise our own event and give praises to God.

This event would come up in May and we will invite Lagos State representatives as well. However, I hope that the government can still make amends and accommodate Lagos-based gospel musicians,” she said.

Popular musician and cleric, Timi Orokoya aka Telemi, who is the immediate past president of GOMAN also lent his voice to the issue.

“When we talk about celebrating Lagos at 50, then praise should take centre stage. We know that there are different religions in the state and all should have been carried along.

I think the people tasked with organizing the celebration didn’t go about it the right way because even the governor may not be aware of this sidelining of gospel singers and pastors.

Lagos is not all about the Eyo masquerade; the state belongs to us all. Whatever we do that does not involve God lacks a good foundation.”

Also expressing his view, talented gospel singer, Abel Dosunmu aka Mega 99 said, “It doesn’t make one happy considering the contributions of gospel music to the upliftment of this great state.

I would like to implore the committee in charge of this programme to make it all encompassing; it is not too late.

Gospel music ought to be promoted so that young ones out there won’t think that there’s no value in it.”

“That is to tell you that when the government of Nigeria makes a promise she fulfills it.

Mercy Aigbe & Her Husband Fight Often – Ex-Staff Speaks

One of the worst places to look for the truth is social media. That’s because even before the advent of filters and other photo editing apps, the Internet has always been a theatre of absurd lies.

Prior to last week, anyone looking through actress Mercy Aigbe’s page would have concluded that she had a perfect marriage with her husband, Lanre Gentry.

But the truth showed its face last week and pictures of Mercy’s badly beaten face which circulated on the Internet became the fodder for jokes, indignation and angst.

In the course of digging for information on what went down in the marriage, Sunday Scoop spoke with a source who once worked with Mercy at her Boutique, located in Omole, Lagos. According to the former employee, the actress and her husband often had quarrels in the boutique.

“Their marriage has always been a ‘strange’ one. On some days, they could come in laughing together and act all lovey-dovey and on some other days, they’d enter the shop arguing and cursing each other at the top of their voices.

“There have been several times that aunty Mercy and her husband came into the shop arguing at the top of their voices. There was a particular day that the argument was so heated that we thought the situation was going to degenerate badly. They continued shouting even as they went into Mercy’s office. However, they emerged some time later full of smiles and kissing each other. We, the staff, were really surprised and the incident strengthened our resolve not to interfere in their squabbles as they could be unpredictable,” the former staff said.

Recalling another incident of intense anger between the couple, our source said, “The last scene I witnessed of them was when her husband came into the shop shouting. He accused Mercy of not giving him enough attention. He also complained that she doesn’t always cook for him and their children but prefers going to parties.”

Meanwhile, when Sunday Scoop got in touch with Lanre during the week, he maintained that his estranged wife has some type of mental illness.

“I don’t want to say anything more about my marriage for now. When it is the right time, everyone will know the truth. Mercy has mental illness and I have taken her to several places all in a bid to get a cure. Right now, I have been prevailed on not to say anything again,” he said.

Lanre also claimed that the pictures of Mercy’s bruised face were taken on a movie set and she was only playing a game.

In a swift reaction, Mercy stated that her team had advised her to remain silent but she may be ‘forced’ to spill the beans on what actually happened in their seven years’ marriage. The actress asserted that Lanre was only trying to twist the narrative to suit himself but that she would speak at the appropriate time.

Pastor Caught With Human Skull Says He Wanted To Use It To Scare Robbers

As we reported earlier, the Oyo State Police Command paraded a self-proclaimed evangelist, Isaiah Alimi, who was caught in possession of a human skull.

The state Police Commissioner, Abiodun Odude, who paraded him at the command headquarters in Eleyele, said Alimi would be charged to court for the crime.

Explaining how he came about the decayed human skull, Alimi said
he was a church founder in Alagbado, Lagos and that he found the head in a building that is going through refurbishment in the Pakoto area of Ogun State.

He claimed that he planned to use the skull to prepare charm to scare robbers away from a land.

He said, “I did not exhume any dead body. I was going to bury it (the skull) on my site around Ijaye in order to scare away robbers who have sacked seven towns in the area. I planned to have another church on the site where I wanted to bury the human skull. I had yet to reach my site when police stopped me and found the skull in my possession.

“I was also caught with other charms. My father was a herbalist and he taught me how to prepare some charms. I did not plan to harm anyone with it or prepare money ritual.”

NDLEA Arrests Two Grannies At MMIA for Drug Trafficking

Officers of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have foiled attempts by two grandmothers to unlawfully export narcotic drugs to New York, United States and Medina, Saudi Arabia.

The suspects allegedly ingested one hundred and eight (108) wraps of substances that tested positive for heroin and cocaine during outward screening of passengers at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos.

The grandmothers blamed their involvement in drug trafficking on financial hardship.

According to the NDLEA, the preliminary investigation revealed that this was the first time a grandmother of 60 years will ingest a whopping eighty-three wraps of narcotics.

In addition, the second suspect was going to Saudi Arabia where drug trafficking attracts capital punishment.

Her timely arrest at the Lagos airport by the Nigerian anti-narcotics officers have saved her from the ordeals of painful and ignoble death in a foreign country.

NDLEA commander at the Lagos airport, Ahmadu Garba gave the names of the suspected drug traffickers as Adebayo Ebunoluwa Mercy, 60, found to have ingested eighty-three wraps of heroin weighing 1.105kg on her way to the United States and Amodu Ayisat Grace, 59, that ingested twenty-five (25) wraps of cocaine weighing 275 grammes on her way to Saudi Arabia.

According to Ahmadu, “Adebayo Ebunoluwa Mercy was arrested while boarding a Virgin Atlantic flight to New York while Amodu Ayisat Grace was caught trying to board an Ethiopian airline flight on her way to Medina, Saudi Arabia. The cases are under investigation”.

Adebayo Ebunoluwa who sells provision at Ikorodu, Lagos but hails from Kogi State, said that drug trafficking was an afterthought saying: “I am a divorcee selling provisions for survival. Things became rough and tough for me when I lost my capital due to family problems. It has been my dream to travel to the United States in search of greener pastures. My involvement in drug trafficking was an afterthought. My intention when I got my visa last year was to go and work to take care of my needs without being a burden to anyone. Everything changed suddenly when I met an old friend at a party. They took care of my travel expenses and gave me three thousand dollars with a promise to assist me secure a job in the United States. It was few hours to my journey that they brought the drugs for me to swallow. They said that it was my contribution for the kindness and money spent on my trip but it turned out to be my biggest mistake”.

Amodu Ayisat Grace, born in Lagos State, told investigators that as a Muslim she was glad to travel to Saudi Arabia but her journey terminated at the NDLEA office saying: “I was happy when they offered to sponsor my trip to Saudi Arabia but I never knew it will end in my detention. I sell fufu (staple food from cassava) to take care of my four children as a widow and this has been very challenging. They enticed me with a visit to Saudi Arabia and a handsome reward and I fell for the trick. I only swallowed 25 wraps of the drug. Unfortunately I could not get to Saudi Arabia because of my arrest”.

Reacting, the NDLEA Chairman/Chief Executive, Colonel Muhammad Mustapha Abdallah (retd) said it was shocking and shameful for grandmothers to be involved in drug trafficking.

“This move by drug cartels to recruit grandmothers as mules is very disturbing, shocking and shameful. The moral emptiness exhibited by the suspects must be condemned by all. A situation where grandmothers have become a bad influence on their children and grandchildren is highly regrettable” Abdallah declared.
