Native Doctor Charged With Raping Woman For Days

 

A 30-year-old native doctor, Lucky Okon, who allegedly raped a woman for days and defrauded her of N800,000, on Thursday appeared before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court.
The accused was arraigned before Magistrate J.A Adigun on a two-count charge. Okon, who resides on Ajasa Command Road, Ipaja, Lagos, however, pleaded not guilty, and was admitted to bail of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
According to the prosecutor, Sgt. Godwin Awazie, the accused committed the offences on March 14 on Abesan Housing Estate, Ipaja.
Awazie said that the accused raped a 25-year-old woman and defrauded her of N800,000. “The accused accosted the complainant on her way from work.

“He hypnotised her with a substance suspected to be charm, and asked her to give him her N800,000, which she did,” he said
Awazie said that the accused also took the complainant home and raped her for days.
“It was when the complainant regained her senses that she reported the case to the police, and the accused was arrested,” he said
Awazie said that the offences contravened Sections 260 and 314 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (revised).
The accused may be jailed for life if found guilty of rape, according to the provisions of Section 260.
The case has been adjourned until June 29 for mention.

Canadian Sniper Beats Record For Longest Confirmed Kill In Military History

A Canadian sniper has beat the record for the longest confirmed kill in military history by picking off an ISIS fighter from a staggering 11,319 feet.

The bullet was fired from a McMillan TAC-50 rifle set on a high-rise tower and took 10 seconds to travel the 2.14 miles towards the fighter, who was attacking Iraqi soldiers.

This smashed the last record set by a Briton Craig Harrison, who killed a Taliban soldier with a 338 Lapua Magnum rifle at a range of 8,120 feet(1.54 miles) in 2009.

A military source told The Globe and Mail the kill was verified by video, adding: 'This is an incredible feat. It is a world record that might never be equalled.'

The third longest kill was by Canadian Corporal Rob Furlong, who shot down an Afghan insurgent from 7,972 feet(1.51 miles) in 2002 during Operation Anaconda. 

And prior to that, Master Corporal Arron Perry hit a terrorist from 7579 feet. He was also Canadian and serving in the same operation. 

The longest kill from a US sniper was done by sergeant Bryan Kremer, who hit an Iraqi insurgent at 7,546 feet(1.42 miles) with his Barrett M82A1 rifle in 2004. 

The Canadian who achieved the longest kill was operating with Joint Task Force 2, which is training Kurdish forces to fight IS. 

Few details are available about their operation, but their last reported location was in the north of Iraq, where a major operation is underway to recapture Mosul. 

The sniper has not been named for security reasons and the exact location of the kill has not been confirmed. 

Canada's special forces are known for the high skill of their snipers, who are considered among the best in the world.

26-year-old woman kidnaps 17-year-old boy for sex in Lagos,Claim she is pregnant for him

                                 

A 26- year -old woman, Oluchi Paul, was on Wednesday brought before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court over the alleged abduction of a teenage boy.
The accused, a trader, who resides at No 6, Yanusa Lane, Water Works, Iju, a suburb of Lagos, is facing a three -count charge bordering on abduction.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Clifford Ogu, told the court that the offences were committed between March and May at the residence of the accused.
“The accused abducted a 17- year -old boy in order to be having sex with her.

“The boy’s parents were looking for him and they were informed that their son was staying with a woman.
“The victim’s parents reported the incident at the police station.
“The police went to the residence of the accused where they found the victim and the accused,’’ he said.
Ogu said that the boy and the accused were taken to the police station, for further interrogation.
“The accused told the police that she and the boy are lovers and that she is already pregnant,’’ he said.
The offences contravened Sections 141 and 166 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Taiwo Akanni, admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N 200, 000 with one surety in like sum.
Akanni adjourned the case until July 19, for mention.

Mother of four dupes Facebook lover N5million

 

 

A single mother of four, Aishat Akintunde, 33, has been arrested in Lagos for allegedly defrauding her Facebook lover of money and properties valued at about N5 million. PM news reports.

Police alleged that Akintunde,  a resident of Egbado road, Dalemo, Alakuko, Alagbada, Lagos and hailed from Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria allegedly succeeded in defrauding her France-based victim, Ayobami Adeniyi after she promised to marry him and also helped him purchase a filling station in Nigeria.

Trouble started for the suspect when the DCP in charge of Federal SARS, Lagos, Ibrahim Kaoje dispatched a team led by DSP Olaniyi Festus to Sango Ota area of Ogun State to arrest a suspected female smuggler and bring her to the station following the tip off that she sold out an unregistered Renault bus with properties inside value at about N2.5 million for just N1 million.

During investigation, Akintunde allegedly told the police that she was not a smuggler and that her France-based Facebook lover shipped the bus for her to sell.


And to confirm the veracity of her claims, the police contacted the shipper of the bus who later turned out to be Ayobami Adeniyi.

Adeniyi reportedly told the police on the phone to arrest the woman and keep her in detention that he was on his way to Nigeria.

Within two days, Adeniyi arrived Nigeria and went straight to the FSARS office, Lagos to narrate what happened between him and the suspect.

Adeniyi allegedly stated: “I am a Nigerian from Oyo State and based in France. I met the suspect Akintude on Facebook in November 2016. And in the cause of our discussion, the suspect told me that she was a divorcee and that if I was ready for a relationship I should send her money to rent an accommodation and I sent the sum of N100, 000 to her because I was desperately in need of a wife from Yoruba land.

“In February 2017, the suspect told me that her mother was a big time oil dealer in Nigeria managing three filing stations. She later told me that her mother was about to sell off one of the filing stations for N4 million and she advised me to purchase the station so that any time I returned to Nigeria to settle down with her, I would have investment to fall back on. She sent three pictures of the three filing station to me to convince me.

“I accepted her advice thinking that she was a honest woman who would be a good house wife. Before I started investing in the filing station, I requested to speak with her mother to confirm her claims and her mother equally confirmed through phone call that she was an oil dealer operating three filing stations in Nigeria and that she was about to sell one of the station for N4 million.

“Following her mother’s confirmation, I told the suspect to open an account in her name for me to be transferring money into it till the N4 million was completed to pay for the filing station. I transferred the sum of N750,000, N650,000, 250,000 and N200, 000 into her account. I equally sold my Peugeot car in Nigeria for N1 million and remitted the money into her account.

“I also shipped a Renault bus with properties inside valued about N2.5 million to her to sell and pay for the filing station. But I was surprised to hear that she did not buy any filing station, but instead converted all my money to her personal use and plunged me into dept.

“I am now appealing to the Nigerian Police to help me recover my money from the suspects,” Adeniyi appealed.

In her defence, Akintude allegedly admitted receiving only the sum of N1.5 million cash from the complainant and not N5 million which he was claiming and a bus which she sold for N1 million and used the process to buy an uncompleted building at Ijoko area of Sango Ota, Ogun State.

A police source said the suspect would be charge to court after the conclusion of investigation.

An Indian woman who claims she was raped at gunpoint by two men says the investigating officer refused to arrest the pair until she had sex with him.
The 37-year-old woman, from northern Uttar Pradesh province, said she was left in fear of her life after police failed to detain Ameer Ahmad, 55, and Sattar Ahmad, 45, after she reported them for rape back in February.
She says her requests were repeatedly ignored by officer Jai Prakash Singh who instead questioned her on the lurid details of the alleged attack, before suggesting she ‘fulfill my desires’.
The disturbing case was reported by Times of India, which says it has recordings of Singh making his advances.
The case began back in February when the woman said Ameer and Satar offered her a lift home from a relative’s house, only to return and rape her later when they discovered she was home alone.
She reported the case to police, but says officers failed to file charges until she went to a local court to complain.

Even then, she said her attackers – who live in the same village – were left free to roam the streets, leaving her in fear of her life.
Despite making desperate pleas to Singh to jail the pair, he instead began messaging her phone asking to meet in private and propositioning her, she says.
When she complained about his behaviour, she claims he closed the case.
But Singh kept on harassing her, at which point she made secret recordings and took them to the police chief.
Speaking about the tapes, police superintendent Vipin Tada said: The voice in the audio clip doesn’t match with that of the [investigator]. But we will investigate her charges thoroughly.’
In 2015 alone, there were 34,000 reported cases of rape in India, though that number is likely to be far higher since many do not go to the police for fear they will not be believed, or will be shunned by their community.
Marital rape is also not considered a crime, further adding to the number of unreported cases. In 2014 there were around 14,000 reported cases of child rape.
The most infamous rape case in modern Indian history took place in New Delhi in 2012, when intern Jyoti Singh was brutally attacked on a bus by six men who – among other things – violated her with a steel pole.
She was taken to hospital but died almost two weeks later from internal injuries, sparking nationwide protests.

Veteran Nollywood actress, Iretiola Doyle recently opened up on little known facts about her childhood and teenage age!

 

According to her, her family members, including her mother, were harsh on her when she got pregnant at the age of 17. Speaking recently at Harvesters International Christian Centre in Lagos, she said:

'You have to surround yourself with people who love and support you. I was blessed to have people around me; unfortunately these people are not family members. My mother didn’t take it lightly with me. I wouldn’t have handled it the way she did because I belong to a different generation. I was nurtured by people I met and they constantly reminded me that my life didn’t end with that bad situation.”

To overcome the stigma of early teenage pregnancy, she had to do certain things. While admitting that the situation affected her hugely, she said that she chose her friends very carefully; friends who were young ladies who had done well and had vision for themselves. “I felt I still remained who I was.
I came from a very good home, not by wealth but value. Education was not negotiable in my family. I didn’t want that one mistake to define who I was. But it was quite difficult for me because it was the talk of the town for quite a number of years,” she said.
She urged young girls who have experienced similar situations to remember to keep their dreams alive and go back to school after having their babies. For her, it is not about how many mistakes you make or times you fell; it is about how many times you get up.

Suspected Herdsmen Rape, Behead Woman In Edo

The University town of Ekpoma, the administrative headquarters of Esan West Local Government Area, Edo State was Wednesday thrown into confusion as women took to the streets to protest the murder of a woman identified as Mrs. Margaret Udiamehi, by suspected Fulani herdsmen, who allegedly beheaded her.
It was gathered that the headless body of the deceased was found in the bush in the early hours of the day, while the head was later discovered by police operatives at a different location.
The angry women chanted solidarity sounds as they marched through major streets​ of the town as they chant solidarity songs over the gruesome murdered of the deceased in her farm on Tuesday by the suspected herdsmen.

They later took their protest to the palace of the traditional ruler of Ekpoma and​ the Divisional Police Headquarters to register their grievance over the incident.
Citing the example of a woman who narrowly escaped death from the hands of the herdsmen couple of days ago, the protesters said they could no longer fold their arms and watch foreigners come into their land and destroy their crops, rape and kill them.
They therefore urged all concerned authorities to give them adequate protection, noting that necessary steps​ should be taken to curb the excesses of the hoodlums to enable them have peace.
Speaking on the incident, daughter of the deceased who was still in shock, said when her mother left for farm in the early morning and did not return home, the youths and other women became apprehensive as they embarked on a thorough search throughout​ the night before her body was discovered at about 2:00 am, with her head severed off.
The Divisional Police Officer of Ekpoma Division, SP Franklin Akanonu, who confirmed the killing of the woman, said they were almost giving up in the search of her head before it was finally discovered at a different location from where the body was discovered.
He appealed to the protesters to collaborate with the Division to fish out those behind the evil act through provision of useful information.
Meanwhile, policemen were seen giving protection to some members of Fulani who gathered in their camp in Ujuelen as the Divisional Police Officer, DPO explained that the action was necessary to prevent further destruction of lives and properties.

NEWS Customs seize and destroy 4118 cartons of frozen chickens (Photos)

The Nigeria Customs Service Federal Operations Unit Zone C Owerri destroyed 4118 cartons of frozen poultry with duty paid value of N83,389,500 yesterday at the Abia/Command in Owerri.
 
Comptroller Amajam Bukar, the Controller Federal Operations Unit Zone C Owerri said the seizure of the poultry products which was transported in a 1X40ft container, was achieved through a tip off from an informant to operatives of the Nigeria Customs Service Federal Operations Unit Zone C Owerri. The Unit with the aid of partner security agencies including the National Agency for Food Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) and the Nigeria Police Force, was able to secure the container and its contents and destroy it in line with government directives.


Comptroller Amajam who stressed that frozen poultry products is illegal and an import prohibition called on the public not to patronize such products which he said are harmful to human health. He also called on intending frozen poultry importers to desist and instead channel their resources to legal imports will be of benefit to the nation and to avoid loss.
He reiterated the commitment of the Service to work tirelessly to protect the economy as well as the local agriculture industry from unhealthy competition.
On hand to witness the destruction were representatives of the Nigeria Police Force, the National Agency for Food Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC), the Department of State Security, National Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), amongst others.

Lagos APC Councillorship Candidate’s Daughter Kidnapped

Kidnappers, Tuesday night, abducted the 19-year-old daughter of All Progressives Congress, APC, councillorship candidate of Odi Olowo Local Council Development Area, Mr. Bode Adeosun, at Ilepeju area of Lagos.

The incident occurred four days to her 20th birthday.

Vanguard gathered that the victim, identified simply as Bukola, who was in the company of her younger sister, went on an errand for her mother. While her younger sister went to collect the item from a trader, Bukola waited outside.

But apprehension set in after the younger sister came out of the apartment, only to discover that Bukola had disappeared.


Vanguard gathered that while Bukola was waiting for her younger sister, a Black Toyota pulled up to her and ordered her to enter the car, pointing a gun at her. They later zoomed off.

Confirming the abduction of his daughter, the politician stated that he was informed about news of Bukola’s abduction by his wife. He said: “While expecting her return, I received a call at about 1.39a.m. The caller told me that my daughter was in their custody. He said I would hear from them again and hung up before I could say anything. “That was when I knew that my daughter had been abducted. Since then, I have not heard from them. I do not know what my daughter is going through where she is. My fear is for her not to be raped.”

When contacted, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Olarinde Famous-Cole, said that the victim was reported to have been missing to the Police, adding that investigation had begun.

Mob beat policemen at hospital where teenage girl was ‘raped in intensive care unit’

An angry mob stormed a hospital after a teenage girl was allegedly raped in an intensive care unit. Rioting protesters clashed with police officers outside the Jagriti Hospital in the city of Kanpur in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh state.
They blamed the officers for not protecting the girl.

One police officer was kicked and punched unconscious after he found himself isolated and surrounded by demonstrators. Violence broke out after news spread that a student named Akansha, believed to be 17 or 18 years old, had been raped in the hospital’s intensive care unit.
She had been rushed to the hospital after falling ill and losing consciousness at a party in the city, Daily Mirror reports. Akansha claimed that she was drugged and raped by a ward boy, or nursing assistant, later that same night.
She said: “After I was brought to the ICU, my mother changed my clothes. Late at night, the ward boy showed up and said since your clothes are wet, they will need to be changed. I asked him to call a nurse or my mother but he refused.
He said that there is no nurse available and my mother had gone back to the party and my father had gone to take medicine. Then he took me to the washroom and said not to feel shy in front of him. I had to change clothes in front of the ward boy.
He then asked me to change my top as well and started unbuttoning my top himself. I ran away to my bed. He then ran away. The ward boy came again and injected me, which caused me to fall sleep. He took advantage of the situation and raped me.

I could feel something wrong was happening but I couldn’t do anything as I was under the influence of the drug.” Akansha’s father said that he had been prevented from seeing his daughter that night.
He added:

“In the morning I forcibly entered the ICU, where seeing the condition of my daughter’s clothes, I suspected that something was wrongs. I shook her awake and she started crying and told me about the whole incident.”
