30 people killed in Adamawa Mosque by teenage suicide bomber (photos)

suicide attack which took place around 5:20am local time and carried out by a teenage suicide bomber, at Kunu Araha, a suburb in Mubi North area of Adamawa state, claimed the lives of 30 worshippers during the morning prayers.

It was gathered that the Tuesday suicide attack was allegedly triggered by a yet to be identified teenage boy, who set off the suicide vest he was wearing.
Confirming the incident, Adamawa police spokesman, Othman Abubakar, said more than 30 persons lost their lives in the dawn mosque attack. He noted that several other persons wounded in the attacks are receiving medical attention at various medical hospitals in Mubi Town.
“We were made to understand that there was a bomb blast at a mosque in Mubi and over 30 lives were lost. A boy about 17-year-old wearing a suicide vest entered the mosque along with other worshippers. Immediately after the prayers, he detonated the bomb. Many of the wounded are receiving treatment at various hospitals in Mubi North where the attacks occurred around Kunu Araha area” he said.

NDLEA Arrests Mother, 50 With 40kg Of Cannabis



The Edo Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has apprehended a 50-year-old mother of seven, who allegedly hid 40kg of cannabis in a consignment of vegetables.

The state Commander of the agency, Mr. Buba Wakawa, confirmed the arrest to the News Agency of Nigeria in Benin on Tuesday.

Wakawa said that the suspect, who lives in Ibadan, was arrested on the Uzebba-Ifon Road on her way to Oyo State with the substance.

He said that the agency recovered four bags of dried weeds which tested positive to cannabis from her consignment of vegetables which included bitter leaves and pumpkin leaves.


According to him, the command has commenced a strategic motorised patrol across the state to intercept cannabis shipment.

“Drug barons usually target end of the year.

“This arrest is a product of motorised patrol embarked upon by the state command as a counter strategy to intercept illegal movement of narcotics.

“The target is to promptly cut off supply and prevent drugs from getting to the end users,” Wakawa said.

According to the commander, the suspect claimed that she was a divorcee and needed money to register some of her children for West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination.

The commander told NAN that the suspect would soon be charged to court while her accomplice would be arrested.

His impeachment process which began on Tuesday when Zimbabwe’s Parliamentopened could have taken days to complete, with a defiant Mugabe initially refusing to step down.
