Pilot dies in NAF aircraft crash, see photo of pilot who survived

One of the pilot who was a victim of the NAF aircraft crash, has reportedly died. Director of Public Relations and Information of NAF, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, who confirmed the death of the pilot, said he died after he was successfully ejected from one of the F-7Ni aircraft.

Read the statement from Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola below;

“It is with a heavy heart that I regretfully announce that one of the pilots who successfully ejected from one of the F-7Ni aircraft that crashed earlier today has passed on. May his soul rest in peace. Additional details on the incident will be communicated, ”Daramola said.

A source who spoke to newsmen, said;

“Only one of the pilots was able to eject, the other one couldn’t (he is one of the best pilots in the Airforce) and he died on the spot.”

According to him, the pilot that ejected did not land well and has sustained a serious head injury which requires urgent surgery. Meanwhile here are photos of the pilot who survived the NAF aircraft crash, which occurred during rehearsal for Nigeria’s Independence Day celebrations.

Timaya who disclosed that he doesn’t like being called a legend, said that some Nigerian singers address themselves as legends after being in the industry for 10 years.

“In this part of the world, many artistes when they get to 10 years, they start shouting ‘I’m a legend’, ‘legendary’. To me, in this industry, the only person that can call himself a legend is 2face. The others shouldn’t. Even if people call me a legend, I don’t like to be seen like that.”

The singer who also maintained that he is still the king of commercial music, added in the interview;

“The crown never leaves. I am Timaya anytime any day, 13 years is not three years. People don’t understand that making a hit song doesn’t mean you are a star. Stars always shine, some people can make a hit song and you will never hear of them again. There’s no year I’ve never dropped a hit song. I don’t want to be number one. I just want to be a musician. A lot of people have come and gone but I’m still here.”

Also revealing his stand on marriage, Timaya said;

“I don’t really go for weddings like that. I like the private marriage. If I want to get married, I will not do a big gathering. One thing is to get married, the other thing is to stay married. Staying married is the hardest part. Do you know what it means for two people with different upbringings to come and start staying together? That’s not a joke.”

Lil Wayne releases long awaited Tha Carter V album

Lil Wayne has released his long awaited album Tha Carter V, and many can’t wait to listen to it.

Tha Carter V features rapping from Kendrick Lamar, Travis Scott and Snoop Dogg, singing from Nicki Minaj, Ashanti and Nivea, and vocals from XXXTentacion, who was shot and killed earlier this year.

Lil Wayne first announced Tha Carter V in 2012, following the 2011 release of Tha Carter IV. But the fifth installment of Wayne’s series, which began in 2004 when he was just 22, was mired in label delays for over five years.

The album was first supposed to come out in 2014; Drake joined Wayne on “Believe Me,” which was going to be the lead single. Days before a possible December release date, however, Wayne took to Twitter to announce that his mentor and Cash Money label head Brian “Birdman” Williams “refuse[d] to release” the album

In January of 2015, Wayne sued Cash Money, demanding $51 million and the right to sever his ties with the label. Later that year, when the rapper attempted to release another project, the Free Weezy Album, through Jay-Z’s streaming service Tidal, Cash Money reportedly hit back by suing Tidal for $50 million, though this suit was allegedly filed improperly and eventually dropped.

According to a recent Billboard cover story, the legal disputes between Wayne and Birdman have now been settled for an undisclosed sum, clearing the way for the release of Tha Carter V. As part of the deal, Wayne is now the sole owner of Young Money Records, his imprint, which was previously a subsidiary of Cash Money. He also maintains his own relationship with Universal Music Group, which has distributed Cash Money releases for two decades.

DJ Khaled bought himself a magnificent and massive mansion in Miami, and you are surely going to love the photos.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Khaled, 42 (real name Khaled Mohamed Khaled) has plunked down $26.9 million for a 13,000 square foot home on the Miami Beach waterfront.

The father of one reportedly purchased the home from Michael Lerner, who created the popular ‘Baby on Board’ signs in the 1980s.

Among the home’s many features are nine bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, an 80-foot swimming pool and even an elevator. The house also includes a safe room, a four-bedroom guest house and a private dock on Indian Creek.

The home, which was designed by Cesar Molina with furnishings from Holly Hunt and Christian Liagre also has expansive courtyard,two level gazebo with a full kitchen, bathroom, outdoor shower & fireplace among others

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has described the N20b released by the Federal Government for the revitalisation of public universities as “too little, too late.”

The union insisted that what the government has done was to merely scratch the problems confronting tertiary education on the surface.

National president of the union, Prof Biodun Ogunyemi, Chairman University of Ibadan chapter, Prof Deji Omole and a national leader of the union, Prof Abiodun Aremu insisted that the N20b payment was unacceptable.


They recalled an earlier agreement and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with the government in 2013 where it promised to massively inject funds into public universities in the country to the tune of N1.3 trillion over a period of six years.

Ogunyemi said government had over the years succeeded in merely scratching on the surface, the problems confronting tertiary education in the country.

He said, “What government is trying to do is to go back to tokenism and this has always scratch the problems on the surface, tokenism is not acceptable to our members as a lasting solution to addressing the problems in our institutions.

What our members want to see is that now that government has shown commitment that it is ready to implement the MoU of 2013, it should go ahead and pay what is due for at least one year, which is N220b for revitalisation.

The demonstration of willingness would have ended in October last year, which was why I said the N20b is coming too late.

By our calculation and going by the MoU, government owes over 800b, how can it be paying N20b and there is fanfare about it?

Its something we expected government to have done quietly and not to make noise about it. That’s why I said too little, too late.”

100-Year-Old Woman Set To Wed The Love Of Her Life

A 100-year-old woman is set to marry her lover who is 26 years younger than her, proving it's never too late to tie the knot. Norah Witkiss was whisked off her feet by Malcolm Yates, 74, when they met at modern sequence dancing.

The couple have been together for more than 30 years and will tie the knot next month.

The centenarian from Prestatyn, who turns 101 in December, says she wants to get hitched "before it's too late".

She and Mr Yates are set to say "I do" at a ceremony at The Beaches Hotel in the town on October 16.


Ms Witkiss, who has been married twice before, said: "Malcolm and I have been together for 30 odd years but have never spoken about getting married.

"We just thought we'd get married now before it's too late.

"I was worried about me getting older and I didn't want to lose the opportunity.

"I'm sure we'll be happy.

"We're really looking forward to it."

The retired school cook who ran the kitchen at Ysgol Penmorfa, has got her dress and hat sorted for the ceremony and the couple's wedding rings are on order.

They will be joined by close friends and family for a meal after they take their vows.

Former bus driver, Mr Yates, 74, recalled how they got together.

"We met at modern sequence dancing in Meliden.

"I couldn't dance, but Norah was very good at it. She more or less taught me and helped bring me on.

"We went travelling a lot and would dance on holidays to Torquay.

"We liked the Cha-cha-cha the best.

"We're always out and about together."

The mum-of-one was born in Wrexham in 1917 and married her first husband, Fred Thomas, when she was 18.

They met after she was given a green card by the Labour Exchange and was sent to work at the Prestatyn Golf House Hotel as a maid and cook, where he was a golf caddy.

After he died in 1970, she met Bert Witkiss and they were married for 16 years. He died in the late 1980s.

The UK Mirror has reported that Mourinho has told the club to get rid of Paul Pogba in the January transfer window.

Mourinho and Pogba clashed again during training on Wednesday and it was captured by TV cameras.

The France midfielder is desperate to join Barcelona, just two years after returning to United for a then world-record £89million. And Mourinho is as keen on getting rid of him as soon as possible.

United believe their best chance of receiving a new world-record £200m transfer fee is to wait until next summer, but their manager wants a deal done earlier.

Chelsea not for sale despite reports Roman Abramovich sets £3bn asking price

Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich, is reportedly willing to sell the West London club if his £3billion valuation is met.

According to Bloomberg, the Russian billionaire remains ‘frustrated by his British visa problems’ and is open to bids to finally sell the Blues once the right offer is met.

Abramovich encountered problems renewing his existing visa in June amid rising political tensions between Russia and Britain.

The Stamford Bridge club were forced to deny reports last month that the 51-year-old is looking to cash-in after 15 years in West London.

An offer of £2billion was said to have been tabled by Britain’s richest man Sir Jim Ratcliffe, but it will take a far bigger bid for Abramovich to sell Chelsea.

Recall that Roman Abramovich rejected an approach from Ratcliffe to buy Chelsea Football Club.

Initially, it was claimed that the club’s owner  Roman Abramovich,had put the club up for sale with a price tag of more than £2billion following his dispute with British Government over his visa status.

However his associates dismissed reports he was considering giving up his 15-year ownership of the club but indicated he may have brought in the same specialists who helped Manchester City’s Abu Dhabi ownership sell a 13 per cent stake to Chinese investors in 2015.
