Cardiff City’s record signing, Emiliano Sala, is feared to be on board the missing plane which disappeared from the radar above the English Channel on Monday night
A French media reported that Cardiff City’s new signing Emiliano Sala, who joined the Premier League outfit on a club-record £15million deal was on board the missing plane. This came after rescue teams were scrambled to waters north of Alderney after the light aircraft with two on board vanished on Monday evening.
It was gathered that the footballer was driven to the airport by Nantes defender Nicolas Pallois. Cardiff City chairman Mehmet Dalman told TalkSport:
“We are very concerned by the latest news that a light aircraft lost contact over the Channel last night. We are awaiting confirmation before we can say anything further. We are very concerned for the safety of Emiliano Sala.”
While the aircraft is still not found at the moment, it was learnt that the search was called off at 2am “due to strengthening winds, worsening sea conditions and reducing visibility”.
Sala was in Cardiff last week to sign a three-and-a-half-year deal, after scoring an impressing 12 goals in 19 games in the French top flight this season
