"No disrespect to any artist nominated or the organizers but somethings are just so wrong"-Solid Star Slam Headies Award Nomination list

Image result for solidstarImage result for headies
Last year, Solidstar complained about being nominated in only two categories at the 2015 headies – best music video and best reggae/dancehall single, saying he deserves more.

This year is even worse because his song 'Wait' ft Tiwa Savage and Patoranking was nominated in only ONE category: Best Collabo.
Not unlike last year, Solidstar has gone on a rant about the nomination list, the ineptitude and favouritism of the media, and accused African award organisers of causing problems by bringing together "some bunch of unqualified music critics and what not to set up the nomination list."

Read after the cut.

"Donald Trump won the US election against all odds, and we were all blinded by the lies, propaganda and hype of the media. The media even blinded themselves bringing out polls and predictions that The probability of Trump winning against Hillary with all his scandals was 30:70. But at the end he won and shamed everybody

This is the same issues we have in our entertainment industry in Africa, the media have succeeded in blinding the fans from what is real, pure and good, from what real talent and good music is about. They hype their family and friends and ignore the ones that don't text them good morning everyday and form fake friendship with them.

I am not about the life of faking or acting a friend in your face and do otherwise behind your back that is why I have little or no friends in the industry cos even the artists are jealous of each other and they don't support real talents because they don't want to be exposed.

This is not directed to anybody or media house. It is a general issue that we all have to look into. Imagine an AWARD ceremony that calls itself credible, giving one artist an award and even made him make a video which was broadcasted on the screen at the award thanking them and later withdrawing the award to give to someone else. This shows the irregularities, partiality and mediocrity in the whole system.

An award organizers recently released a list and even though I was nominated I wasn't satisfied because the main category that would have meant a bit to me was missing on my nomination which is best raggae/dance hall. I can only pick one song out of the whole bunch that did a bit better than Wait refix ft Patoranking and Tiwa Savage for their year in view. No disrespect to any artist nominated or the organizers but somethings are just so wrong.

A lot of talented artists have been ignored for so long that they even start doubting themselves. Even the Grammys which is also not 100 percent credible have their flaws but try as much as possible to recognize real talent

These African Award organizers bring together some bunch of unqualified music critics and whatnot to set up the nomination list and that's where the problem starts from and"

Actor Yomi Fabiyi's marriage to British wife crashes

After several months of denying before fans and the media that his 4 year marriage to Fran, his British wife was sinking, actor Yomi Fabiyi has come out to admit that indeed, his marriage has failed and he has been unhappy for a long time.

From the explanation he gave on his IG page, the major issue that rocked the boat was the long distance between the both of them. His wife refused to come to Nigeria to live with her husband, while Yomi on his own part refused to settle down in the UK because of his career.

I have a question, though, did they not hash out the issue of relocation and settlement before they got married?

Read his explanation below and make up your mind.

It's so sad that a lot of people never give me the benefit of the doubt. Only a handful think it is right to respect my freedom of choice. I have been unlucky in life, most of what I do normally have opposite impression irrespective of my positive mindset. I cannot help it and will rather prefer to continue to be real as possible, I am used to being misinterpreted my entire adult life. I never aim to hurt anybody in words or actions before them or behind them. I am never raised that way. They forget that some people no matter how horrible the situation, still has some dignity left in them.

I have also been raised to know that no matter how small the interactions I have with anybody, I should not let my manners slip. It cost nothing but could win a whole lot of goodwill. Moreso, I have been vigorously warned by my parents never to prove to know if what am ready to give out is a guess.

Hopefully Fran accepts my proposition to end this marriage now as I cannot continue this way, AM NOT HAPPY anymore as we edge close to the 4th year anniversary. Fran is such a beautiful woman, supportive and wish I come live in England, take up employmemt and study. I HAVE USED HER DOCUMENTS TO RENEW MY NORMAL VISA ONLY, so no question she is not willing, I NEVER said that. With all humility, if she never promised me she is coming to take up employment in Nigeria and live with me, maybe we may not have secured the dating. I have made it abundantly clear I am not prepared to live abroad as my career was just gathering shape then. I decor wedding hall Nigeria colour on purpose.

The outlook of my choice may look familiar to those marriages but I never thought people will think of me that way. I have to live with that but sometimes it can be so bruising.

I am focused on my career and keeping my fans and admirers entertained. I have an absolute right to do whatever makes me happy provided it is nothing criminal, illegal, immoral or anti-social. I am NOT interested with the reason two adult came together. It's crude and an uncivilized thing to do for me. I HOPE I FIND TRUE LOVE AGAIN WHILE I PUSH FOR A HITCH-FREE DIVORCE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I will be fine guys. Thank u - Yomi Fabiyi

These toe-curling snaps show a huge butchered pregnant snake that was reportedly killed by villagers in an unnamed Nigerian village

According to sources, the animal was slaughtered after accusations it had been feasting on farmers’ livestock.

But when villagers cut its swollen stomach open, they realised it was actually pregnant and it's still unclear what actually killed the calf.

Dozens of eggs fell out of the snake’s body and were quickly snatched by locals, as they are considered a delicacy in the area.

It isn’t known what species the snake is, but many are able to produce up to 100 eggs at a time.

Zimbabwe Drops Charges Against Cecil The Lion Hunter

A Zimbabwe court has dropped charges against a professional hunter alleged to have helped an American dentist to kill a famous lion named Cecil.

It ruled that the charges against Theo Bronkhorst "were too vague to enable to him to mount a proper defence".

His lawyer, Perpetua Dube, told the BBC the offence did not have the force of the law and was not criminal in nature.

American dentist Walter Palmer who killed the famed lion last year was not charged.

The lion - a favourite at Hwange National Park - was shot by Mr Palmer with a bow and arrow.

He is said to have paid about $50,000 (£32,000) to hunt the lion.

Cecil's killing sparked international outrage, and prompted a global campaign to end lion trophy hunting.

Controversial lesbian athlete Caster Semenya gets set to wed lover next month (pics)

Controversial South African athlete Caster Semenya has given her fans a unique glimpse into her life outside sport with an intimate series of images and videos as she plans a ‘white wedding’ with her partner.

South African Caster and Violet Raseboya, also an athlete who celebrated their union with a traditional ceremony last year, will make their marriage official over Christmas, a friend has revealed.

She was born with no womb or ovaries and instead, due to a chromosomal abnormality, internal testes.

The couple have been together for a decade and held a traditional ceremony in rural Limpopo province, three hours north of Johannesburg, last December following a 12-month engagement.

American judge rules against President-Elect Donald Trump

                     Image result for donald trump

U.S. federal judge Gonzalo Curiel has sided largely with plaintiffs in the class-action lawsuit against President-elect Donald Trump over the defunct Trump University.

The case is scheduled to go to trial later this month and Trump is expected to testify in his own defence against allegations that Trump University for-profit business seminars were a hoax and hundreds of individuals were charged large sums of money for courses that were worthless.

Judge Curiel ruled against Trump’s legal team seeking to ban testimony relating to Trump’s conduct during the presidential campaign.

The judge also ruled against Trump’s request to ban testimony about Trump University’s “F” rating by the Better Business Bureau and the fact that it has since gone bankrupt.

He also denied a request by Trump’s lawyers to ban discussion of the financial condition of students, many of whom described themselves as poor, and what impact the seminar fees had on their lives.

Mr. Trump’s lawyers argued testimony about the presidential campaign, and testimony about the other elements of the case are irrelevant and would serve to colour the jury’s opinion of Mr. Trump and his business venture.

Judge Curiel ruled in favour of allowing Trump’s defence team to call students who would tell “success stories” about how the courses improved their understanding of business and real estate.

Mr. Trump has steadfastly defended Trump University as a worthwhile investment for participants. The courses promised to offer students inside information on how he built his business.

In a technical ruling, Mr. Curiel found insufficient evidence or supporting case law to warrant granting Mr. Trump’s other requests, though he said Mr. Trump’s lawyers could object to individual pieces of testimony during the trial.

"They Call Us Sugar Mummies"Abuja Women Who Marry Younger Men Protest

                             Image result for home alone

The discrimination against women marrying younger men in the society has led some women in the  Federal Capital city of Abuja to protest.

Speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja, some women in the FCT, on Thursday, decried discrimination in Nigeria against women marrying younger men.

Some of the women alleged that they had been discriminated, judged and labelled “sugar mummy” for their marriage to men they are older than.

A businesswoman identified as Esther David, said she was five years older than her husband, who is also into the same provision business with her.

She said her decision to marry her husband was borne out of love, admiration and respect she had for him, and not because she was desperate to get married as alleged by some persons.

“Our society tends to judge women negatively for marrying younger men, even if that relationship was borne out of love and respect for each other.

“But the same society sees nothing wrong if a man marries someone that he is old enough to even be her grandfather," she lamented.

According to her, she faced a lot of challenges from her in-laws due to the age difference before she was accepted as his wife, despite performing the traditional, Christian and even the court wedding.

A mother of two, Bose Ade, said even though she was eight years older than her husband, whom she has been married to for over a decade, her being older had not affected the love, affection and respect they had for each other.

“At first, it was very difficult for me to accept his marriage proposal because I was far older than him with over eight years.

“But I was later convinced by his persistence and support from his family that he was not dissuaded by our age differences,” Mrs. Ade said.

However, she added that even though she was accepted by her in-laws, she still faces discrimination from some of his relatives and in the neighbourhood they reside in.

According to her, she ignores all the subtle attacks on her person, urging other women that are facing similar challenges to ignore gossip and concentrate on building their homes.

“I don’t have problem with in-laws, it is just some distant relatives of his and people in our area who still gossip and call me names like old woman, and all sorts because he looks younger than I do.

“I ignore them and make sure I exhibit love and affection for my husband just to spite them.”

However, Fatima Musa, an unemployed graduate said she cannot marry a younger man because the society would see her as “desperate’’ and she may not get the respect she deserves from him.

“Women naturally look older than men. So if you marry someone younger in age, one might end up looking like his mother or elder sister than his wife, especially when one starts bearing children.”

On his part, Idris Samaila said there was nothing wrong in a woman marrying a man she is older than, as long as mutual trust, respect and love exists between them.

“Age is just a figure that people put so much emphasis on. It does not matter if a woman is older than her husband or the husband is older than the wife as it is commonly practiced in our society.

“The main issue we should be concerned about is how to build our homes within the tenets of our religious believes, as well as sharing love and understanding," Mr. Samaila posited.

He said the fear of marrying a younger man by some women who feel the age difference might bring disrespect between them, was uncalled for, as respect was earned.

“The claim that marrying a younger man would make him disrespectful to one in the future is a flimsy excuse, because I have seen instances where a matured man marries a woman like his daughter’s age mate and she still does not have respect for him.’’

He said Nigerians should encourage the sanctity of marriage within the religious or traditional belief so as to reduce the rate of illegitimate children in the society.

Married Female Church Member Confesses How Choir Master Impregnated Her

Crisis is currently rocking a church after a married female congregant publicly revealed some dirty secret of how she was impregnated and forced to have an abortion by the church’s choir master.

A choir master, Tafadzwa Kingdom Nhamu, of End Time Message Ministry in Zimbabwe, is at odds with a woman for denying responsibility of the child he allegedly sired with her.

According to H-Metro, he impregnated the married woman, Mrs. Moreblessing Bore, and the latter wanted the pregnancy aborted forcing her to approach the church elders.

Police Nab 2 Suspects For Cloning Enugu Deputy Gov’s Facebook Account

The Enugu State Police Command, yesterday said it has arrested two suspected Internet fraudsters who created a fake Facebook account using the profile of the Enugu State Deputy Governor, Mrs Cecilia Ezeilo.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, a superintendent of police, who disclosed this in a statement gave the names of the suspects as  Richard Onyema, 36, a native of Amokohia in Imo State who resides at No 20 Mbano Camp, Obigbo Port Harcourt, Rivers State and Richard Odinaka Amadi, 40, a native of Mbaitoli in Imo State who also resides at Omagwa, Rivers State.

He said the suspects specialised in the use of prominent persons’ profile to open Facebook accounts with a view to defrauding unsuspecting members of the public.

Amaraizu disclosed that the suspects, who created the fake Facebook account of the deputy governor allegedly used it to dupe unsuspecting members of the public to the tune of N635,000, as they promised to help their victims get contract awards.

He said the two “have been in the business of creating fake Facebook accounts of any identified prominent /eminent persons and use same to lure unsuspecting members of the  public  into believing that they are the person that they are impersonating and present a contract scenario in which, through the process, their victims are duped.

Amaraizu disclosed that the suspects were nabbed on October 2 in Rivers State through intelligence by the operatives of the Anti-Kidnap Unit of the Enugu State Police Command.

He said the suspects who are now helping the operatives in their investigations have regretted their action, blaming it on their continual quest to get rich quick.

“They further revealed that what they do is to create a Facebook account of prominent government/eminent persons and pretend to be that person and use same to defraud people by asking them to pay some amount of money for jobs and contracts through  a certain bank account that they will provide,” the PPRO said.

Trump is endorsed by God to fight immorality in US; says CAN President Rev. Ayokunle

Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) President, Rev Samson Ayokunle says President-elect of the United States of America, Donald Trump, was positioned by God to fight immorality in the US.

Rev Ayokunle said this at the 29th General Assembly of the Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN) held at First Baptist Church, Garki, Abuja.

The three-day programme is tagged: “God of Life: Lead Nigeria to Justice, Peace and Dignity.’’
He called on Americans to watch very closely as the new administration would not tolerate the issues of immorality in the country any more.

According to him, “God has now positioned him to fight the immoral life in the American society; the nation that was once known as God’s own country is vastly becoming Sodom and Gomorrah.”
Ayokunle said that there was an extent to which a nation would emphasize secular and individual liberty to the neglect of God’s absolute reign in the affairs of men.

He called on Nigerians to be on guard as Boko Haram had not been fully defeated, following recent killing of Lt. Col. Abu Ali and some soldiers in Maiduguri.

“It is not over until it is over; the fact that a top army officer was killed is a signal to the fact that we have not defeated them. It was also an attestation to the commitment of the Federal Government to fight this demon called Boko Haram. So, everybody should be more committed so that the souls of those who died might not be in vain,” he said.

He called on Christians to be united and not to make their doctrinal beliefs to overwhelm them because Jesus Christ prayed for the church to be one.

“We are diverse because of our doctrinal beliefs but we must be one because Jesus says the church must be one; He prayed for the church. I think the problem with us is the placing of much emphasis on autonomy where it becomes its petals when we lack respect for one another. There should be collective recognition of leadership, desire to put up the things of the world and eternity-centered in such a way that occupying position does not matter to anybody,’’ he said.

He said that corruption in the country was endemic and called on the government to keep fighting it so that the country would not be crippled.

Opposition Leaders In Rivers & Akwa Ibom corrupted judiciary – Prof. Sagay

Eminent lawyer, Prof. Itse Sagay (SAN), has said opposition leaders in Rivers and Akwa Ibom states corrupted the judiciary after the 2015 elections.

He said this in a statement on Thursday while reacting to allegations by two Supreme Court justices, who are under probe, that the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi attempted to compromise their judgments on election petitions.

The judges, Justice Sylvester Ngwuta and Justice Inyang Okoro, were last month arrested by officials of the Department of State Services, when huge sums of money and incriminating documents were allegedly found in their houses.

Weeks after their arrest, the two judges accused Amaechi of being behind their predicament.

However, Sagay, who is the Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC), described the allegations of the judges as an afterthought.

Sagay, who spoke in his personal capacity on Thursday, said, “This sudden anti-Amaechi narrative is consistent with the objectives and interests of the chief promoters and funders of judicial corruption during election petitions. These powerful opposition politicians are well known. To be more specific, they are from Rivers and Akwa Ibom states.

“They are the ones who financed judicial corruption and brought that great institution, the judiciary, to its knees, after the 2015 elections.

“These allegations are intended to undermine and weaken the Buhari-led Federal Government by depriving it of the service, input, ideas and productivity of some of its brightest stars.

“This is intended to set the stage for charging the government with ineffectiveness and cluelessness. In other words, it is an attempt to reduce the image and perception of this Federal Government to the low level of their own late and unlamented government.”

The SAN said the judges had, by their utterances, reduced themselves to the level of politicians who made frivolous and baseless accusations.

He advised them to use their time to prepare for their trial instead of engaging in frivolities.
