Plane crash into Melbourne shopping center, leaves 5 dead

A Beechcraft plane, crashed  into a shopping centre near the Australian city of Melbourne, killing 5 people on board.The incident which has been described as the state's worst air accident in three decades, happened
after a private charter from Essendon, north of Melbourne on its way to King Island, smashed into
the shopping center just 55 minutes to the south.

It came down on a major motorway, packed with the heavy traffic of early morning commuters.

Investigators have already been sent to the crash site by the Australian Safety Transport Bureau, while Essendon Fields had been closed, and all traffic diverted to Melbourne's two larger airports Tullamarine and Avalon.
