Fans Give Respect To Rio Ferdinand After His Brutally Honest Documentary

Rio Ferdinand broke down as he opened up on coming to terms with losing his wife Rebecca to breast cancer in his documentary last night.

But after Being Mum and Dad aired, the whole nation was right behind the former England football player. Viewers rushed to Twitter to tell Rio they had "major respect" for him after his brutally honest programme about dealing with grief and mental health issues.

The 38-year-old England football player confessed his three children saved him from killing himself, after she suddenly died. Major respect goes out to @rioferdy5 keep up the good work of being a great dad Rebecca will always be with you all," one viewer tweeted.


"This is a must see, a beautiful and powerful documentary," another added.

"Biggest respect to @rioferdy5 for the documentary about his wife. Truly opens your eyes on life, appreciate everything you have," a third fan wrote.

Speaking in his documentary Rio Ferdinand: Being Mum and Dad, Rio explained how he put his sadness "into a box".
