Brother-in-law Admits Slaughtering Entire Family Over Inheritance Row

The relative of a French family of four who have been missing since mid-February has allegedly admitted to killing them. The brother-in-law of a French advertising executive who has been missing along with his wife and two children for two weeks confessed today, local media has reported.

Identified as Hubert C, the 46-year-old said he slaughtered the Troadec family in their detached home in Nantes, western France, during an inheritance row over gold bars.He is believed to have battered them to death with a blunt object, and then tried to cover up the evidence.

Those killed were Pascal and Brigitte Troadec, both 50, their son Sebastien, 21, and daughter Charlotte, 18.

All were last seen on February 16, before their mobile phones went dead and all activity in their bank accounts stopped.

Hubert C was taken into custody on Sunday along with Lydie Troadec - Hubert C's ex-wife and Pascal’s sister.

"The male suspect has admitted killing the entire family in an argument over inheritance," said a source close to the case. "He remains in custody and faces trial for the murders."

An investigation into murder, abduction and illegal confinement was opened last Monday after the authorities were alerted to the disappearance.

Initial suspicion fell on the son, Sebastien, as he was suspected of "formulating a macabre plan aimed at snuffing out members of his family and maybe himself".

Sebastien had psychological problems, and in the past had been convicted of making death threats on his blog.

Bloodstains were found at the Troadec home in Orvault, including on Sebastien’s abandoned smart phone, and his abandoned car was later found more than 100 miles away.

Nantes prosecutor Pierre Sennes said toothbrushes and hairbrushes had all been removed from the house, and the beds had been stripped.

"Food was going off in the fridge and there were dishes in the sink," Mr Sennes said. "It was as if the life of the house had been frozen in time."

Speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Onofiok Luke, reacts to Kemen's disqualification

Onofiok Luke, Speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly has reacted to Kemen's disqualification via his official Facebook page.
He said when you are in the spotlight in his town, you need serious prayer to continue thriving. Read what he wrote below...

"I have never really watched the big brother Nigeria,I only follow it activities on the social media. Up until this evening Kemen our son was celebrated online by fans and followers of BBN from our very Akwa Ibom but suddenly,a breaking news of his disqualification from the house and the whole narrative changed and the social Media is now saturated with different stories and versions about Kemen and his disqualification.
Many who before now had celebrated Kemen are in a hurry to crucify him for his mistake(s).
My take here is not to hold brief for Kemen and whatever he might have done to merit his disqualification( which I am yet to know) but to reflect on how difficult it is to be in the spotlight in our clime --the fear of failing,--the fear of making mistakes,--the fear of mockery and the most dreaded of them all --the fear of inua Uyo. We are all humans and are all prone to mistakes but when we are not the affected we engage sanctimonious disposition that tends to confer sainthood.
For Kemen, take solace even in the biblical story of Jesus on His triumphant entry to Jerusalem on Palm Sunday where the song on the lips of everyone was hallelujah, but that song on those same lips changed the following period to a condemnation and shout of crucifixion.
All the same da yong di ke ikot " idiok owo" ibaha.
When you are on the spotlight in my town you need to pray heavily for the grace of God to preserve you and to lead you not into temptation because anything otherwise mbio usaak owo mkpo eyoyoho Isong. They can make you run and leave town."

filmmaker Slam actors who thank God during award speeches, says it's not God

Nigerian filmmaker,Niyi Akinolayan has called out Nigerian actors who give thanks to God during their award speeches, saying the votes are determined by human judges and not God. The AMVCA 2017 awards got lots of celebrities thanking God for their award, but he feels it's unnecessary. Read what he posted after the cut...
"Nigerians and their obsession with "thanking God" at award ceremonies. That's a great platform to reach a lot of people and say really important stuff. Why do you think thanking and giving glory to god is the most important thing you can say at an award show determined by votes and human judges. Sigh! Which one is "it can only be God". It's a company recognizing great talent and largely protecting their interests too. It's not god!!!"

Married Reverend who was found hanged is accused of having 7 mistresses, wife comes for them

A Reverend was found hanged after his wife accused him of having 7 affairs with churchgoers, it has been claimed. Dr Iain D Campbell, 53, had been a senior official in the Free Church of Scotland before he was found dead last month.
Today, allegations have emerged that his 54-year-old wife Anne has called on seven women to be kicked out of the church for adultery.

It’s after she allegedly discovered evidence that her husband had been leading a double life for years.

The Free Church of Scotland, also known as the Wee Frees, is believed to be investigating while the accused mistresses call in lawyers.

A source told the Daily Mail: “It is said Anne was suspicious about Iain’s activities, and confronted him at the manse [a Scottish vicarage] allegedly after finding compromising emails in his computer trash files.

“Anne is wanting all this to go in front of a church court and for them to throw them out of the church for adultery.

“It will cause havoc with their marriages and the entire Free Church.”

The source went on to claim that Dr Campbell first took an overdose but later hanged himself in hospital in Stornoway.

In an Obituary to the father-of-three, Rev James Maciver wrote on the church’s website: “The entire Free Church and many others worldwide are still trying to come to terms with the loss of one of our best-loved ministers, Rev Dr Iain D Campbell.

“We continue to pray for his family in their indescribable pain, as well as his congregation, friends and colleagues.

“At a time like this, there is only one source of strength and refuge, who we believe is ruling in unchangeable love over his people.

“The news of Rev. Dr Iain D. Campbell’s sudden death numbed the Western Isles Free Presbytery, and the tremors from the shock extended through the Free Church and well beyond.

“Such was his fitness, vigour and drive that none could have expected his demise at 53 years of age.”

He added: “Although gifted in so many fields Iain’s great love was preaching the gospel. It was a preaching of the highest calibre.

“His exposition of Scripture was educative, stimulating, thought-provoking, evangelistic and edifying, even for those most advanced in the Christian faith.

“We extend our sincere condolences to his widow Anne; to their sons Iain and Stephen, and daughter Emily; to his mother Lily and his sisters, Margaret and Alma.”

Allegations have emerged that Rev Dr Campbell had been cheating on his wife Anne with seven different women

Afghan Family Detained On Arrival In US

Lawyers in the US have filed a petition seeking the release of an Afghan family detained in the US, despite having valid entry visas.

A couple and their three young children were taken into custody shortly after their arrival at Los Angeles International Airport last week.

They had Special Immigrant Visas, granted for work done for the US military that put their lives at risk.

Afghanistan was not among the countries listed on a now blocked US travel ban. The original order prohibited the entry of immigrants from seven Muslim-majority countries, but has since been halted by US federal courts. The Trump administration is preparing a new executive order.

Henry Okah, others reportedly attacked in S’Africa prisons

The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta has called on the Nigerian parliamentary delegation to South Africa to extend its fact-finding mission to other Nigerians being kept in solitary confinement in various South Africa prisons.

MEND said secret xenophobic attacks take place in South Africa prisons.

It listed its former leader, Henry Okah, who is currently serving a jail term at Korkstad Prison in the Kwa-Zulu Natal Province of South Africa among those suffering xenophobic attacks in the country.

In a statement on Saturday by its spokesman, Jomo Gbomo, MEND said:

“There are hundreds of Nigerians in South Africa who are serving various prison sentences or awaiting trial. From the reports available to us, many of these Nigerians are subjected to xenophobic attacks as they are regularly singled out for harassment, on account of their nationality or arbitrarily isolated in solitary confinement, by South African prison officials.
“We, therefore, call on the Nigerian parliamentary delegation to find time to also visit various prison facilities in South Africa where they will, indeed, be confronted with the real victims of xenophobia in South Africa.”
While commiserating with thousands of Nigerians who had suffered from the recent attack, it added,
“We are constrained to draw the attention of the National Assembly delegation to other variants of xenophobic attacks which are not in the public domain.”

Apostle Suleiman Allegedly Impregnates Woman, Detains Her, As Lady Says, I Have Our N*Ked Photos

Apostle Johnson Suleiman, the founder of the Auchi-based Omega Fire Ministries, has been accused of dumping his pregnant lover, whom he promised marriage, and is using the police to silence her.

The lover, Miss Stephanie Otobo, is a musician based in Ontario, Canada, who goes by the stage name of Kimora.  Miss Otobo’s attorneys, Festus Keyamo Chambers, in a letter to the Inspector-General of Police, said she was arrested on March 3 at a United Bank of Africa branch by heavily armed policemen from Federal Criminal Investigations Department (FCID), Alagbon, at the Anthony Village area of Lagos. She has since been in detention, where she has been denied food and visitation by her lawyers.

Apostle Suleiman and Miss Otobo, according to her lawyers, met in September 2016, when she visited Nigeria from her base in Canada. They began a relationship, with Apostle Suleiman telling her that he had divorced his wife and wanted more male children. The affair grew stronger. Apostle Suleiman made a marriage proposal to Miss Otobo, which she accepted. This was followed by a formal introduction of Apostle Suleiman to her family. On the occasion, the preacher took along drinks and gifts and informed Miss Otobo’s family in Delta state of his desire to marry their daughter.

With the affair gaining in intensity, Miss Otobo abandoned her blossoming musical career in Canada to move over to Nigeria to the delight of Apostle Suleiman, who promised to buy her a house and provide her the standard of living to which she was used in Canada.

So strong was the relationship that Apostle Suleiman made a habit of licking Miss Otobo’s body from her toes to her private part any time they wanted to make love. Miss Otobo also became a member of the Apostle Suleiman’s church, following him around the world, selecting sermon topics for him and choosing songs for his church services.  Apostle Suleiman also sent Miss Otobo money on a regular basis.

The pastor’s desire to have more male children, according to Miss Otobo’s lawyers, made him demand that his lover should get pregnant. She subsequently got pregnant. Miss Otobo visited Nigeria and told the preacher that she was pregnant in a hotel she was lodged in Ikeja, Lagos.

The news of the pregnancy angered Apostle Suleiman, who apparently was afraid of the scandal such could bring. He wanted her to have an abortion and proceeded to give her a concoction, which made Miss Otobo bleed profusely and subsequently abandoned her, calling off the marriage proposal. Miss Otobo later went to Warri, where he met another pastor and told him her story. The pastor recorded her story and started using it to extort money from Apostle Suleiman.

After the disagreement over the pregnancy, Miss Otobo returned to Canada. But Apostle Suleiman got in touch with her and apologized for abandoning her. He subsequently started to persuade her to return to Nigeria. Last week, Miss Otobo returned to Nigeria. Apostle Suleiman, working on a scheme to silence her, paid money into her account and then got the account frozen. It was while Miss Otobo was trying to make a withdrawal from her account, having tried unsuccessfully to use an Automated Teller Machine, that she was arrested on the orders of Apostle Suleiman.

According to Miss Otobo, Apostle Suleiman is a spectacularly dissolute man. He once requested her, she said, to bring her friends along for group s*x, a request turned down given that there was a plan to get married.

Miss Otobo, through her lawyers, warned Apostle Suleiman that she has their naked pictures together, raunchy text messages, bank statements, and other implicating items.

The lawyers disclosed that Miss Otobo used to send nude pictures to Apostle Suleiman every Sunday, just before he went on the pulpit.

Despite these, Suleiman called off the marriage proposal.

However, Miss Otobo is not willing to take it lying down. She is demanding to be paid the sum of N500million as damages for not honoring the promise to marry her. Miss Otobo also wants Apostle Suleiman to stop harassing her and threatening her life.

Her lawyers have given the preacher a seven-day ultimatum to meet the demands or get reported to law enforcement agencies for the threat to her life and face trial for breaching the promise to marry her.

Youth kidnaps and kills his boss' mum, After his industrial training (IT) in his boss' company

The Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad (SAKS), Ebonyi State Police Command, who collaborated with the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) and other units of the Command, has arrested one Ogbujule Chukwu Mathew from Lokpanta, Isuochi in Ummunneochi Council of Abia State, for  abducting a 59-year-old woman Catherine Okorie Chukwu, at her residence and also killing her.
Mrs. Catherine who is the mother of an Abuja based industrialist, was killed after she identified one of her abductors,
who had done his internship at her son's company in Abuja.

On interrogation, the said Ezenwa confessed that the victim has been killed by the gang and was buried at Lokpanta, Isuochi in Abia State. He led a team of anti-kidnapping squad of this Command to the scene where the body was buried. The area has been identified, that was why the Command made adequate arrangements for the exhumation of the body. He took our men there and instead of showing the exact spot, he started taking the Police round that vast bush until the early morning of Sunday, when he said his time was up and he was then ready to talk. He then took our men to the exact spot where they buried the woman", Jude Madu the spokesman of the command said.

Guardian reports that Mathew and four other suspects that were arrested in connection with the kidnap/murder led a team of 50 policemen in 15 Hilux vans, an ambulance, morticians, Head of Pathology Department, Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki, on a 10 hour journey to the shallow grave.

Mathew who got emotional at the grave had this to say;

Na that Ampelo (from Ishiagu) say make we kill am. En say because mama (the victim) don see him face, make we kill am. I tell them say make them no kpai mama. The man come slap me for back. I come go up there go sit down (pointing to a hilly side of the shallow river). As I come sit down there, I come hear kpowai. I dey like this (pointing his head to the ground). Pilot come ask me whether I dey cry? I tell am say I dey cry. I tell am say this thing wey una do, before next week now, una go hear am. Na im I come carry my machine (motorcycle) go back”. According to Mathew, himself and his gang members had tried to escape Police search by hiding the woman at the backyard of his compound in Amaekwuru village, Isuochi in Lokpanta for several hours but had to escape into the forest when they got information that the Police were on their trail, where the victim was later shot dead on the orders of the said Ampelo, who told the gang that he did internship in Abuja through the help of the victim’s son and she had already seen his face; hence they should not spare her life or they would all be in danger"
After the exhumed body of   Mrs. Catherine from Ishiagu community in Ivo Council of Ebonyi State, was deposited at the Federal Teaching Hospital Mortuary, Abakaliki (FETHA) for autopsy, the command's spokesperson who spoke to newsmen said;

“We have taken the body for autopsy. The result of the autopsy will determine our next line of action. We want to find out if they killed the woman with bullet or poison or any other means, even though one of the suspects confessed at the scene that one of them shot the woman. After the autopsy, we shall also update the public. There are some other persons who are not among the six, but they also contributed in one way or the other to aid this crime. Though I may not give you the exact number for now, but others, such as their native doctor, is already in our net. One of the girlfriends of Umoru, who had helped him to escape the very first time, is also in our custody. Investigations are ongoing and the Police is assuring the family and the public that it will get to the end of it all.”

Speak With Me To Prove You Are Healthy, Fayose Tells Buhari

Gov. Ayo Fayose of Ekiti state has said that rather than shop for outsiders to speak with to prove to Nigerians that President Muhammadu Buhari is hale and hearty, the president should be encouraged instead to speak with him (Fayose)

”I advised the President to speak with me for the purpose of convincing Nigerians that he is hale and hearty instead of looking for people outside the country to convince Nigerians.”

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi, Fayose picked holes in statements that Buhari had spoken in one week, first with the king of Morocco and next with the president of the African Union. “If their problem is that they are looking for a credible person who can help them convince Nigerians that all is well with our President, Ayo Fayose is their best bet.

Let the president speak with me. If I tell Nigerians that the president spoke with me, Nigerians will believe”, he said. Nigerians, he added, are getting suspicious of all the purported visits to Buhari in London as well as his orchestrated telephone conversations with international figures who Nigerians cannot trust to give a true and unbiased report about the president’s state of health.”

Since they are eager for the president to speak to people; believing in this way to convince Nigerians that their President is hale and hearty, let President Buhari talk to me. I can be reached on 08035024994.

I am credible and Nigerians will believe me”, he said.

“They said he spoke to President Donald Trump; despite the hype, Nigerians were sceptical. Then they said he spoke to the king of Morocco; again, Nigerians were suspicious.

Before we recovered from that, it is now the AU president that they said President Buhari spoke to.

“A president that can speak with outsiders should be able to whisper or wave to his own people. The people gave him the very important platform of President on which he stands today and, therefore, Presidential aides should stop giving the unhelpful impression that Buhari has no respect for the Nigerian electorate.

12-year-old shoe shiner enrolled in school by a good Samaritan overshadows his classmates

Ibrahim Bukar, who lives in Borno state with his father, and earns a living by cleaning, is said to have outshined his classmates in Future Hope Private School in London Chiki area of Borno State, after being enrolled in the school by a good Samaritan, Ibrahim Yusuf.
Mr. Yusuf was moved with sympathy after he found the 12-year-old boy, said to be the
breadwinner of his family and found wandering the city looking for shoes to clean, told him his story.

According to Daily Nigerian, the boy's father was excited after he was told his son will be enrolled in a school.
"The boy took us to their house in London Chiki, but unfortunately the father was not at home. We were told the father is a trader around Custom area, so we decided to go and see him in his place of business.
"On reaching there, the father was not around also, but his goods were there on display and his business neighbours told us he went away, but will be back soon. We waited, and while waiting for him, I got to understand why he could not send his boy to school.
"We waited for about 45 minutes, and throughout the time, nobody came to buy the beans and the millet he was selling. When he eventually came back, we greeted him and informed him about our mission there.
"The man almost burst into tears, he told us that he had wanted his children to go to school, but unfortunately he can’t afford to. He told us that before the insurgency became worse, he had sent the boy to Almajiri school in Dikwa, but when boko Haram took over the place, the boy escaped and came back to Maiduguri.

"With the support of a philanthropist and my little effort, Ibrahim is now in Future Hope private school in London Chiki area of Maiduguri, and so far he is doing very well. I visited the school today (Friday) to see for myself how he is doing.
"His teacher informed me that Ibrahim is already performing beyond expectations. She told me that he said he wanted to be the best student in the class, and every evening receives extra lessons from one boy in his neighbourhood. Ibrahim can now recite the English alphabets from A to Z, just within one week. His is outshining his classmates," Mr Yusuf said.

The school's headteacher who spoke to newsmen, also disclosed that a decision to promote Ibrahim every year according to his level of comprehension, and receiving crash lessons to make up the skipped classes has been taken.

Fake Counsel For Suspected Thief Arrested In Court

Luck has run out on one Olayomi Adegbite, who allegedly paraded himself as a lawyer at a Lagos magistrate’s court in Ogba.

It was learnt that the 34-year-old had appeared as a counsel, applying for the bail of a defendant arraigned in court for stealing.

Punch Metro gathered that as Adegbite made the bail application, a presiding magistrate of Court 5 where the defendant was arraigned observed flaws in his presentation.

The magistrate, Mrs. Temitope Oladele, who is on induction under Chief Magistrate O.J. Awope, was said to have invited him to her office for questioning upon which it was discovered that he was never called to the bar.

A lawyer at the court, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said he had warned Adegbite on several occasions of the consequences of his action, but he refused.

“He started coming to the court in December. He would dress as a lawyer and walk around to assist defendants to perfect their bails. He was working with a lawyer. I approached him to stop parading himself as a lawyer, but he was furious with me.

“On February 24, 2017, he appeared at Court 5 to hold brief for the lawyer in a case of stealing. When the magistrate noticed that he could not apply for the defendant’s bail, she summoned him to her chambers,” he said.

He was subsequently arrested by policemen from the Ikeja division and brought to Court 4 on Thursday by a police prosecutor, Sergeant Raphael Donny, on one count of impersonation.

The charge read, “That you, Olayomi Adegbite, on February 24, 2017, at about 12pm, at Court 5, Ogba, in the Ikeja Magisterial District, did impersonate a member of the Nigerian Bar Association without having a certificate to prove yourself, thereby committing an offence punishable under Section 78 (b) of the Criminal Law, No 11, Vol. 44, Law of Lagos State, 2011.”

The defendant pleaded guilty to the charge.

The presiding magistrate, Mrs. Davies Abegunde, consequently sentenced him to 100 hours of community service across magistrates’ courts in Lagos, except Ikorodu, Epe and Badagry magistrates’ courts.

The magistrate added that he should place placards with inscriptions, ‘I am a fake lawyer,’ on his front and back while cleaning the courts.

As Adegbite was serving the punishment on Friday at Ogba Court, Punch Metro heard him telling some court officials that he knew those behind his “ordeal.”

When Punch correspondent approached him for comment on the incident, he said, “I have nothing to say now.”
