100-Year Old Woman Gets Robbed In Derby, UK


A man has been arrested after a 100-year-old woman's neck was broken as she was mugged in the street.

The victim was approached from behind, knocked over and robbed of her green handbag in Normanton, Derby.

Derbyshire Police said the woman, who also suffered bruising to her face, is recovering from her injuries.

A 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of robbery after the incident close to the junction of St Chads Road and Empress Road at 8.45am on May 28.

The force said they are still keen to speak to anyone who saw a beige Seat Leon which was found two days later close to where the attack took place.
         
Police are appealing for anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage that shows the vehicle with registration plate SL02 KVZ to come forward.

The woman's handbag, made of fake leather with gold clasps, was later found at the junction of Moore Street and Normanton Road.
