Femi Falana, a senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN), says the government will be making a mistake if it files charges against Omoyele Sowore.
Sowore, who is the convener of #RevolutionNow movement, has been detained by the Department of State Services (DSS) since Saturday.
The DSS had accused him of threatening public peace and safety with his planned nationwide protest.
But speaking at an event organised by the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) on Tuesday, the senior lawyer said Sowore had briefed him from detention that in the case he would be charged, his first witness would be someone in government who in 2011 also called for a revolution.
Sowore, according to Falana, refused to write a statement, insisting the DSS allow him to speak with his lawyer.
“I do hope that the government will not be stupid to charge Sowore. In fairness to them (DSS), they gave him a telephone to phone me. Of course I knew they were monitoring the phone, and I told him I hope they won’t charge you, because if they do, some of the people in government will be our witnesses,” he said.
“You know why? One of them, I won’t mention his name. In 2011, he asked Nigerians to learn from the Egyptian revolution and be ready for a revolution in Nigeria. So, he will be my first witness.
“The late Chief Gani Fawehinmi and four other people were charged with treasonable felony by the Ibrahim Babangida junta. I was one of them. We were detained in Kuje prison for two months. We were taken to the court, and what was the offence? I think we went beyond Sowore. We posted thousands of posters across the country, that Babangida must go. That was the treasonable felony.”

Open letter questions Daddy Freeze’s mother for supporting baby mama
An open letter written to Daddy Freeze’s mother questioning her for her open support of her son’s relationship with his baby mama who is still married to her husband
The letter was shared by @andelasmith who has once been accused of being Daddy Freeze’s ex-wife.
Read below
AN OPEN LETTER TO DADDY FREEZE’S MOTHER PROF ELISABETA SMARANDA OLARINDEI would like to express my disappointment from your open show of support, encouragement, sponsorship and glorification of the Adulterous life style of your son Ifedayo Olorinde aka Daddy Freeze as evidenced on instagram Videos and Pictures posted by your son & his Baby Mama who is married to someone else. I had expected much more from a Nigerian professor of Law who is President of the Nigerian Association of Law and Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration, Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria. (ABUAD) and also a UNICEF’s Legal Researcher. Much is expected from a teacher who moulds the minds of young people. Unfortunately, I am not seeing this in your relationship with your son and therefore can’t help but submit this letter of complaint hoping you will change your ways.Your Son Daddy Freeze faces multiple court cases in the High court in Lagos and Port Harcourt for his messy separation from his wife and for impregnating his Baby Mama Benedicta aka @tastebudzng in her matrimonial home and giving birth to an illegitimate son , your so-called grandson named Abimbola Jessen. His baby mama admitted this in court. The divorce cases are in public domain in social media and Court documents, which are in our possession and available to the interested public.Instead of condemning such an act, you are making a public show of support. We understand you used your office and connections to provide legal advice to his legal team and have boasted on several occasions to save him from the Judiciary system using your office, capacity and connections, knowing full well what he did was wrong. This clearly shows that you support his amoral character and condone his actions . He insults people who are old enough to be his grandparents in the name of attacking pastors . This clearly affronts the well known Yoruba culture and heritage of respect for seniors. You ought to be mortified by the sort of adult your son becameAlthough your OAP son is an Adult and no one is against a mother in support of her son but as a Law teacher what sort of moral values do you teach your students? It is painful to the senses to see that a professor appointed in Nigeria to prepare young minds could show such open support for her son of such behavior. You must be aware that many children have been negatively affected by your son’s conduct.I am very convinced you understand the legal & moral implications of the things your son has done. I don’t know whether your son’s behavior is acceptable in your Romanian Country of origin or the culture of your husband Dr Olarinde, but in African culture it is reprehensible & totally unacceptable.I’m sure you are aware that your son and his baby mama acted irresponsibly and this reflects on their parentsI hope you agree with me that this is not acceptable under any circumstances. I trust you will deal with this issue in a better way. Please do not allow your reputation already muddied by Freeze or that of Afe Babalola University Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State(ABUAD) and Nigerian Association of Law Teachers be dragged further in the mud

Three Nigerian Men, One Brazilian Lady Arrested In Mumbai For Cocaine Offenses
Four foreign nationals, who were allegedly carrying 6.492kg of cocaine, worth ₹38.95 crore, concealed in the rings stitched on curtains for it to pass through the rod, were arrested from Andheri (West) on Saturday. They have been remanded in police custody for seven days.
Police had got a tip-off that three Nigerian men and a Brazilian woman were carrying narcotics in their bags, but on intercepting them, they only found curtains in the bags.
“Our team grew suspicious on finding so many curtains,” said Manoj Kumar Sharma, additional commissioner of police, west region.
The team, headed by police inspector Daya Nayak, then started to check the curtains. On opening the rings, they found thin tubes containing white powder fitted around it. Each of the 78 curtains had eight rings carrying cocaine.
The police seized the substance and arrested the four accused – Niras Okhovo, 35, Simon Agobata, 32, Michael Hope, 29, and Brazilian national Karle Iris, 41 – who were on their way to meet a fifth accused, after which they were to send it via courier.
Police have also retrieved the machine which the accused used to roll the tubes.
A raid at the Koparkhairane residence of the accused led the police to multiple passports, but none of them is in their names.
“The fifth accused is absconding. We will arrest him soon. We are also tracking the courier companies that sent the consignments in the international market. We are enquiring whether they have any role in it or not,” said Nayak.

Black Panther spotted in Kenya for the first time in 100 years
An African black leopard also known as ‘Black Panther’ has been spotted in Kenya for the first time in 100 years
Biologists captured the rare footage of a big cat walking majestically in Kenya, making it the first time the animal has been photographed in Africa since 1909.
Nick Pilfold, a San Diego Zoo global scientist, said they captured the footage after months of watching and waiting. His team of biologists had placed remote wildlife cameras to track the leopard population near Loisaba Conservancy in Laikipia County last year when they heard unconfirmed reports of a possible black leopard sighting.
“We intensified our camera placement in the area the reports were being made. Within a few months, we were rewarded with multiple observations on our cameras” he said
The female leopard’s coat color is pitch black as a result of melanism, a gene mutation that results in an over-production of pigment, Pilfold said. It’s the opposite of albinism — and although the leopard’s coat appears black during the day, its rosette patterns are visible in nighttime infrared imagery

Michael B. Jordan reveals why he went for therapy after Black Panther
Actor Michael B. Jordan has revealed why he went for therapy immediately after he finished shooting the hit movie Black Panther. According to him, he had to do so many things so as to assume the character Erik Killmonger which he played
Speaking with Oprah Winfrey, Michael B. Jordan said the character he played had a lonely childhood with no friends got all to about his dreams. In order to assume that role, he said he had to shut out his loved ones, a thing that led him to a dark place.
“I spent a lot of time alone. I figured Erik [Killmonger], his childhood growing up was pretty lonely. He didn’t have a lot of people he could talk to about this place called Wakanda that didn’t exist,” he said.
He went on to describe how he later got back to his real self after the movie.
“I went to therapy, I started talking to people, starting unpacking a little bit. [It] helped me out a lot…It was a little tough for me at first. Readjusting to people caring about me, getting that love that I shut out. I shut out love, I didn’t want love. I wanted to be in this lonely place as long as I could.”
He continued:
“Of course it’s an extreme, exaggerated version of the African diaspora from the African-American perspective, so to be able to take that kind of pain and rage and all those emotions that Erik kind of represents from being black and brown here in America … that was something I didn’t take lightly. When it was all over, I think just being in that kind of mind state … it caught up with me.”
Speaking on why he recommends therapy:
“Your mind is so powerful. Your mind will get your body past a threshold that it would have given up on way before. Honestly, therapy, just talking to somebody just helped me out a lot. As a man you get a lot of slack for it…I don’t really subscribe to that. Everyone needs to unpack and talk.“

Some of the men who tortured a slay queen over phone theft by having ground pepper inserted into her vagina, have been arrested
According to reports, the incident happened in Benin, Edo State. It was gathered that the lady had lodged in a hotel with a man who later claimed his phone went missing after their hot romp.
The man then dragged the accused to a native doctor around Ugbiyokho area of Ekehuan Road, Benin, where she was summarily declared guilty by a notorious “oracle.”
Her denial of the allegation prompted the native doctor and his apprentices to subject her to jungle justice by stripping her naked and inserting ground pepper into her vagina
According to Jefferson Uwoghiren, the man was arrested yesterday evening, along with the manager of a hotel he lodged briefly in Benin City, Edo state. A massive manhunt is on native “ doctor” and his apprentices.
Jay-Z hires an attorney to help 21 Savage
Jay-Z has hired an attorney to help 21 Savage, so he does not get deported to the UK, as he also slammed the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
21 Savage is currently detained by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), after they discovered he is a British citizen living in the US illegally
According to TMZ, Jay-Z said the arrest and detention of the rapper is “an absolute travesty” and points out that his US Visa application has been pending for years. He said;
“In addition to being a successful recording artist, 21 deserves to be reunited with his children immediately.”
It was also confirmed that Jay-Z’s company, Roc Nation has responded to what it calls a “matter of injustice” by hiring attorney Alex Spiro to assist with his case. Spiro told TMZ;
According to reports, 21 Savage actually had a visa permit pending for four years before he reapplied for his US Visa in 2017, which they claim must have led the authorities to do a background check that discovered his visa was expired before his arrest“We are not going to stop until he is released, bonded out or in front of a judge … What we have here is someone who overstayed their Visa with an application pending for 4 years – not a convicted criminal that needs to be detained and removed but, by all accounts a wonderful person, father, and entertainer who has a marijuana offense which was vacated and sealed.”
