Biafra is a spirit that can’t be killed with guns or other weapons – Pastor Chris Okafor

The General Overseer of Mountain of Liberation and miracle ministry, Pastor Chris Okafor, has opined that Biafra is a spirit and cannot be killed with guns, arrows, and not even with a nuclear bomb.

The pastor made this known while felicitating with Nigeria on her Independence Day celebration.
While Speaking on the Operation “Egwu Eke 2” in the South East of Nigeria, the acclaimed man of God stated that it’s unfair for the Nigerian government to deploy the full weight of the military in the manner they did to quell the secessionist agitations by the IPOB members and in fact the people of that region.
According to him,
“Our Government needs to learn how to resolve issues with dialogue. No amount of time or resources expended towards dialogue is a waste. ‘’
‘’This is not 1967. Anybody who thinks that they can kill an agitation like Biafra with force is truly living in fools’ paradise. It can never happen! Biafra is a spirit. Wasn’t it Ojukwu who started it? He’s gone but Biafra is still here.’’

‘’You can’t kill a spirit with guns and arrows, not even with a nuclear bomb. If Ojukwu’s exit did not kill the agitation, how can any human being think or believe that Nnamdi Kanu’s exit will kill the agitation.’’
”As a matter of fact, more people have now joined the agitation and mark my words, worst people than Nnamdi Kanu will soon emerge-they are already there and nobody knows how peaceful those ones will be.”
”We should behave like a 21st century constitutional entity and stop using force to do everything. Dialogue is the only way out and the Government of the day must take advantage now.”
He, however, said he was not advocating for the split of Nigeria but that, if Nigeria does not put its acts together, things might get out of hands and no amount of force can stop the outcome.
He urged worshipers to pray for Nigeria’s peace and unity.

Checkout Davido Reaction To Caroline Danjuma’s accusation of his involvement in his friend Tagbo’s death

Yesterday, a news went viral involving the death of a young man, Tagbo and Davido’s unknown involvement in it.
He was called out by Caroline Danjuma is a now-deleted post on the gram.

She wrote;

“Davido, where is Tagbo? He was with you and your crew last niht… You all wore face cap to hide you identities after he died in your car… You dumped him at general hospital and ran away.
The law must play it’s role this time…. You all better provide tabgbo alive… @Davidooficial
After you all abandoned him at general hospital, you continued grooving at DNA and had the nerves to promote your show. This ain’t no ordinary boy you can intimidate his family. We need you to tell us how he died in your car and why you ran away. The police and hospital have confirmed you all ran away. If you think your money can save you, you just met your match. Promise…”
Well Davido has reacted to the news, he wrote;
“People are just wicked. This is what I get for treating everyone like my brother.
I was deeply saddened to hear of the death of my friend Tagbo. 1st and foremost, my sincere condolences and prayers are with his family at this time.
I have been in the same position before and multiple times and also of recent. But it is also dissapinting that false information and complete lies have been put out there using my name, as usual.
Out of total respect for Tagbo and his family, I will not discuss this matter further for now.
Rest in peace, Tabgo
David Adeleke.”

Check out the 1000 year old Chinese bowl that has been sold for $37m

A small but highly important ceramic dish from Imperial China sold for a world record £28 million ($37.7 million) in Hong Kong yesterday.
The ‘virtually unobtainable’ brush washer is around 1,000 years old and was commissioned by the imperial court during the Song dynasty.
It was made by Ru guanyao, which is one of the most revered of the Five Great Kilns used during this period.
The dish, which has a diameter of just 13cm and would have been used to clean brushes, has a glowing, intense blue-green glaze and ‘ice crackle’ pattern.
It was offered by Sotheby’s with a guide price of £10 million ($13.24 million), but there was a fierce 20-minute bidding war and the dish eventually sold to an anonymous bidder for £28 million ($37.7 million).
The auction house said the person behind the winning proposition wishes to remain anonymous, it’s unknown whether the buyer is from China mainland or elsewhere.
The price paid for the dish in Hong Kong is a world record for a Chinese ceramics piece, beating the £27 million ($35.7) paid in April 2014 for a Meiyintang Chenghua ‘Chicken Cup’.
A statement from the auction house said:
‘Today at Sotheby’s in Hong Kong, a new world auction record for Chinese Ceramics was set when a highly important and extremely rare Ru guanyao brush washer sold for £28.2 million after a 20 minute bidding battle’.
‘While seemingly small and unobtrusive, these understated aesthetics reflect the calibre and meticulousness of its craftsmanship, a quiet metaphor of Chinese philosophy celebrated by erudite connoisseurs and scholars throughout time.’
It is most likely the dish was made between 1086 and 1106 and it is extraordinarily rare for a Ru vessel to be sold at auction.

Ex-Policeman, Friend Arrested For Robbing Two Brothers

An ex-policeman, Kenneth Chikwe, and one Livingstone Uzohu, have been arrested in Awka, Anambra State, for allegedly robbing two brothers of their cars.

The state Commissioner of Police, Garba Umar, disclosed this at the police headquarters in Amawbia, in the Awka South Local Government Area of the state while parading some suspected criminals.

He said following a distress call that the two brothers were robbed of their cars, the police launched an investigation, which led to the arrest of the dismissed policeman.

Umar said the ex-policeman had bullet injuries when he was arrested, adding that his confession led to the arrest of his alleged accomplice, Uzohu Livingstone, 51, in Owerri, Imo State.

The CP said the two cars were recovered from the suspects.

“Both suspects have provided useful information that can lead to the arrest of other gang members and possible recovery of other stolen vehicles,” he added.

Umar said a Range Rover, Toyota Hilux, one AK-47 rifle and 20 rounds of live ammunition were recovered from the suspects.

Other items recovered from them, he said, include one K-2 rifle with 15 rounds of live ammunition, one pump-action gun with five cartridges and one locally-made pistol.

How ex-Airforce boss Amosu diverted N2.7b, bought houses in UK – EFCC

The EFCC said it had discovered two properties which a former Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshall Adesola Amosu (rtd.), illegally acquired in the United Kingdom with funds that he allegedly diverted from the coffers of the Nigerian Air Force.

EFCC told the Federal High Court in Lagos on Tuesday that investigation by its operatives revealed that Amosu bought the houses with the help of a Bureau De Change firm, Right Option Oil and Gas.

The ex-NAF helmsman, according to the EFCC, removed over N600m from NAF’s account and sent it to the firm, which in turn converted it to $3m to purchase two properties for Amosu in the UK.

The EFCC said this was apart from the N2.1bn, which Amosu allegedly stole from NAF and used to purchase diagnostic equipment for a hospital, Solomon Health Care Ltd., personally owned by him.

An operative of the EFCC, Tosin Owobo, stated this at the resumed trial of Amosu and 10 others for an alleged fraud of N22.8bn perpetrated within NAF between March 2014 and April 2015.

The defendants are being tried before Justice Mohammed Idris, where they were arraigned on June 29, 2016 on 26 charges bordering on theft and money laundering.

Those standing trial alongside Amosu are a former Chief of Accounts and Budgeting at the Nigerian Air Force, Air Vice Marshal Jacob Adigun; and a former Director of Finance and Budget, Air Commodore Olugbenga Gbadebo.

The EFCC alleged that the defendants diverted N22.8bn, belonging to the NAF, using a number of companies.

The said companies were also joined as defendants in the charge.

The Trial
While being led in evidence by the prosecuting counsel for the EFCC, Mr. Rotimi Oyedepo, Owobo, who was the second prosecution witness, narrated to Justice Idris how the trio of Amosu, Adigun and Gbadebo, allegedly moved funds from NAF’s operations accounts for their personal use.

Owobo said investigation by his team revealed that N5.9bn was transferred from NAF accounts to a BDC company, Delfina Oil and Gas, which was owned by Adigun.

He said N6.1bn and N3.6bn were traced to Mcallan Oil and Gas Trapezites BDC respectively, whose accounts were managed by Adigun.

He said N800m was traced to each of Deegee Oil and Gas and Timsegg, stressing that the companies neither had any Memorandum of Understanding nor rendered any services to NAF to warrant the transfer of the funds to them from NAF’s operations accounts.

He added, “These companies were not into oil and gas. N21bn was moved from various NAF accounts without appropriation.”

Owobo, however, said the EFCC had recovered some of the properties which the defendants allegedly purchased fraudulently while some funds were also recovered.

He said, “Members of our team visited properties in Nigeria upon which markings were placed and most of the properties have officers of the EFCC stationed there. They were handed over to the Asset Management Department of the EFCC.

“The properties have been attached by the legal department of the EFCC which obtained interim forfeiture orders of those properties,” the witness said.

Owobo told Justice Idris that Amosu had returned up to N2bn to the Federal Government.

Further proceedings in the case were adjourned till Thursday, October 5.

23 Years Old Boy caught robbing a family in his own neighborhood

Adeshina Adeyemi, a 23-year-old fashion designer, who was arrested while fleeing from a robbery scene, yesterday said he only accompanied his friend to the operation.

According to The Guardian, the suspect, identified as Adeshina Adeyemi, confessed to have accompanied his friend whom he identified simply as Chibuzo, to operate at a building behind his, in Adeniran Ajao Estate, Maryland, at the weekend.

The choice of their victim, according to him, was given by Chibuzo because he (victim) was considered rich. The duo set out for the operation around 11:30p.m. and scaled through the fence of the building.

He said: “When we got to the building that night, I wore a hood to cover my face in order not to be identified because it is my territory. We entered through the kitchen window and made straight for the sitting room. My friend collected an iPad he saw in the sitting room.

“As we were contemplating on which of the bedrooms to go into, a lady came out and raised the alarm on sighting us. This was followed by an alarm bell, which vibrated in the vicinity. At that point we fled in different directions.

“I jumped through the fence into our building, forgetting to remove my hood. Our gateman, who sighted me, ran after me and caught me. He collected the axe I went with and held me until other guards came around. By the time they removed the hood, they discovered that I was the one.

“I have brought shame to my family members. This is the first time I would be involved in a mess like this. I went with my friend, who was in dire need of money. He has been complaining bitterly about the need, that at a point he said the only solution would be to go and rob. He begged me to go with him and also promised to share whatever we get there.

“The plan was to tie occupants of the building down and collect all their cash, phones and other valuables. I was with an axe while Chibuzo was with a cutlass. We went with weapons to defend ourselves. But fear made us take to our heels when the alarm was raised because we are not professionals. The most painful aspect of it is that Chibuzo whom I followed out of pity, escaped while I am left to pay the price.”

The Lagos state police have arrested some masquerades for robbing and exhorting residents at the Elere area of Agege, Lagos.

According to the police officials, the masquerades were apprehended alongside other hoodlums for robbing members of the community and also causing breach of the peace in the area.

Residents of the area were very happy when the police officials came to arrest them.
A resident who pleaded anonymity, said the masqueraders have tormented the area for a while now and nothing was done about it.
The police officials added the masquerades who were not backed by the traditional ruler in the area tried to attack the policemen during their arrest.

Lagos Hoodlums Clash Over Girlfriend, Vandalise 150 Vehicles

Uneasiness has pervaded Idi Araba and Olorunishola communities in the Mushin Local Government Area of Lagos State after bloody clashes between two factional gangs in the neighbourhoods.

No fewer than 150 vehicles parked in compounds and by the roadsides were reportedly vandalised during the clashes, while some members of the factions were injured.

Punch Metro learnt that the rift was the climax of a supremacy battle between Idi Araba boys and Olorunnishola boys which started about four years ago.

Punch correspondent learnt that the rival gangs had maintained peace for some months before the battle was rekindled penultimate Saturday during a party organised by a lady on Olanrewaju Street, off Itire Road.

The unnamed lady was reportedly in a relationship with two men, each from the two factions.
It was said that members of both gangs had attended the party that day and as it progressed, a fight broke out between gang members.

A resident, who did not want his name in print for security reason, said one Faruk of Olorunnishola boys escalated the fight after he smashed a bottle on Abbey, a “strong member of Idi Araba boys.”

He said Abbey’s gang members regrouped and went on a reprisal to Olorunishola community to unleash mayhem.

He said, “Olorunishola boys also came to Idi Araba, Folarin Street and other neighouring streets around 12.30am on Sunday, September 10. They destroyed about 150 vehicles.

“Idi Araba boys comprised thugs from Daniyan, Sea Side, Lawanson, Odutan and Adekunle areas; and they are led by Emo, Sule Jagaban and Bere.

“Olorunishola boys also comprised hoodlums from Daniel, Morgan, Shittu, Igbeyin Adun streets and Ojuwoye in Mushin. They were led by Mopol and Bobo. Some of them are cult members.

“The lady that organised the party was dating members of both factions. The lady was given a post in her church and she celebrated it on that day. The party could not contain the two rival gangs.”

Another resident, who gave his name only as Samuel, said the hoodlums cashed in on the clashes to rob residents of their valuables.

He added that the gangs clashed again last Friday during which two persons were hit with cutlasses in the head and hand respectively.

“Apart from destroying property, they entered into houses to steal laptops, generators, televisions and other items. Everybody here is afraid. We need more security and we want the police to stop the gangs from causing more havoc,” Samuel said.

A car dealer, Lukman Ninalowo, said his car and that of his wife, parked on Folarin Street, were destroyed during the midnight mayhem.

He said, “They damaged the two cars – Mitsubishi and Sienna – and I have reported the vandalism at the Itire Police Division. They broke the glass on the driver’s side of the Mitsubishi and smashed the windscreens of the Sienna. They came at night armed with cutlasses.

“Over 40 vehicles were vandalised on Folarin Street alone. They also entered premises and destroyed vehicles, including a car that a mechanic repaired for his customer.

“We urge the Lagos State Police Command to deploy more operatives in this area to support the Itire division. We learnt that four of the suspects were arrested and taken to court.”

Another victim, Mr.  Taiwo Adeneike, a civil servant said, he had no idea of how to raise fund to repair his vandalised car.

“They broke the windscreen and the driver’s side glass of my BMW E36. The fight has been on for a long time, but that of Sunday assumed another dimension. I had slept off. I suddenly started hearing noises. By the time I came out, a lot of vehicles had been destroyed. The DPO of the Itire Police Division came that night,” he added.

The Chairman, Ifetedo Community Development Association, Ishaga Close, Idi Araba, Mr. Rasheed Bakare, called on the state government to intervene, noting that the gangs had created panic in the affected communities.

He said, “The cause of their fight is always baseless. Whenever they clash, it is innocent residents who bear the brunt. Vehicles parked on Itire Road, Morgan, Olorunishola, Durojola streets and Lawanson were damaged Over 100 vehicles were vandalised. I personally counted over 50 damaged vehicles on Folarin Street.

“Whenever there is any misunderstanding, they start destroying property and robbing people. We want the state government to intervene because it is getting out of hands.”

He added that the suspects have admitted participating in three different robbery operations in the past.
“On one occasion the suspects collected the sum of N86,000 from their victim using her Access Bank ATM. They have both confessed to the crime,”‎ he said.

The Lagos police boss said he had directed all Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers to maintain police visibility in major roads and neighbourhood across the metropolis.
“I have also directed them to carry out constant raids of back spots. We hope to sustain the current low crime rate in the state”, he said.
In his statement, Franklin denied robbing anybody, saying it was his friend, Fosta who dragged him into the problem.
He said he was the one who introduced Fosta into the Uber cab business.
According to him: “I met Fosta while working with UBA as a driver. I met him again sometime this year. I helped him to register as an Uber driver. It was him who collected the phones that were found on us from some ladies.”
