Seven Hospitalized at Ohio State After Shooting Attack

                    

The fire department says seven people have been sent to the hospital after a shooting at Ohio State University.

The Columbus Fire Department says two of those people are in stable condition. It had no information on the other five people.

Ohio State University warned students in a series of tweets Monday morning that there was an active shooter on campus and that they should run, hide or fight.

One tweet says: "Buckeye Alert: Active Shooter on campus. Run Hide Fight. Watts Hall. 19th and College." Watts Hall is a materials science and engineering building.

It is not immediately clear if the shooting is still in progress.

Policemen Protest Over Non-Payment Of Election Allowance In Ondo

Some men of the Nigeria Police Force on Monday went hay wire in Ondo town, protesting over the non-payment of their last Saturday governorship election duty allowance.

The policemen trooped out to Fagun street in Ondo town ‎chanting various war songs to kick against the way they were treated by their 'ogas' after the governorship election.

The development caused traffic logjam in the area. 

All efforts to speak with the protesters were not successful as they ‎were beating journalists who were trying to speak with them and residents who wanted to take photographs of the protest.

One-year-old baby wakes from coma as doctors were about to turn off life-support machine

A miracle baby came out of a coma the moment doctors were ready to turn off her life support machine.
According to MirrorUK, one-year-old Marwa was hospitalized in September, in an induced coma after suffering from a virus that caused severe neurological disorders.

Against parent's wishes, the doctors, citing "aggressive therapy", wanted to disconnect the device that was keeping her alive.

The parents, from Algeria, started a petition on Facebook , "Not without my Marwa", to help raise 
funds to challenge their decision.

With over 70,000 signatures, the court ruled in favour of an "extension of care" at La Timone hopsital, Marseille, for two months.

But doctors were insistent that they would fight to turn off the respirator sooner - terminating her life - arguing that she will never walk, eat, or breathe independently.

Just ten days later, Marwa woke.

The footage, shared by her dad on Facebook , shows the baby react to his voice and even smile.

"Her treatment continues, but we see daily progress, and it gives us great hope.
"When I talk to her, she hears my voice, she reacts, sometimes she smiles," he told a local news site .

Philippine Police Defuse a Bomb Found Outside the U.S. Embassy in Manila

                    

Philippine police safely detonated an improvised explosive device (IED) found in a trash can meters away from the U.S. Embassy in Manila Monday.

Police said the bomb was similar to the device that killed at least 14 people when it exploded at a teaming night market in the southern city of Davao on Sept. 2, the Philippine Daily Inquirer reports.

National Capital Region Police Office chief Superintendent Oscar Albayalde told the Inquirer that the 81-millimeter mortar inside the package “was the same found in Davao.” If it had exploded, he added, it could have affected everything within a 100-meter radius.

The device was discovered by a street sweeper early morning local time who contacted local authorities.

Nobody immediately claimed responsibility for the attempted bombing.

“We are thankful that the municipal employee and the PNP took quick and appropriate action to ensure the safety of all,” said U.S. Embassy Press Attache Molly Koscina in a statement on Monday.
