Uganda University to discipline two female students who wore revealing clothes to a school Event

Makekere University, Uganda is set to penalize two female students for parading themselves in very revealing clothes at the Finalist Education Dinner held on Saturday, May 26th. In the letter dated Tuesday, May 30th and signed by Dean of Students Affairs, the students have been requested to reply to the letter and show cause why they should not be presented to the University Students Disciplinary Committee for breach of school regulations.

Mr. Emmanuel Attah, the Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps in Osun State, has said that  49  corps members had been sent back to their parents from the orientation camp. The leadership of the NYSC has confirmed the premature exit of  the corp members due to some factors that would hamper their participation. According to reports, the Corps members were sent home based on health. 
 

The Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps in the state said this on Tuesday evening during the inspection of the permanent orientation camp in Ede by the Director-General of the NYSC, Brig-General Suleiman Kazaure.

He explained that the NYSC took that step in order to prevent serious health issues and even death in the camp. The coordinator said the NYSC placed priority on the health and welfare of corps members, saying that was why qualified medical personnel were stationed at the camp to attend to any health issue.

Attah said, “Two thousand three hundred corps members were deployed in Osun State and out of this we registered 2226 of this number 1023 are male while 1123 are female corps members.

“Out of this number we had instant relocation of 73 corps members, 49 corps members were on medical grounds while the rest are nursing mothers and marital issue.

“We never took a chance, we are serious on medical issue that is why we never had any issue right  from Sunday before the corps member entered the camp all medical team of the campus and myself were at the gate to check any corps member coming with any communicable diseases and we got some, registered them and relocated them to their parents.”

Suspects arrested so far for the grisly lynching of military officer in Ghana

A number of suspects have been arrested over the grisly murder of military officer in Denkyira Boase in the Central Region, Ghana on Monday, May 29.

The officer, Captain Maxwell Mahama was lynched by residents of the Denkyira Boase Township on suspicion of being an armed robber. He was a military officer with the 5th Infantry Batallion (5BN) at Burma Camp in Accra but on detachment duties there where he met his untimely death.

Capt. Mahama who is the commander of the area military detachment, according to his subordinates, was seen jogging along the main road and as he stopped by to ask some women for directions, the women saw a pistol on him.

Alarmed by the pistol on him, the women mistook him for an armed robber thereby alerting their assembly member who allegedly organised some men to lynch him and even burnt him in the process.

Their action is said to have been influenced by recent robbery attacks in the area with a recent one being a day before as the people in the mining town have been subjected to some serious robbery attacks. Capt. Mahama was not in uniform when the incident happened.

I Caught My Husband Making Love In Our Bedroom

                           

A 40-year -old trader, Mrs Folake Alimi, on Wednesday told an Igando Customary Court in Lagos that she caught her husband making love to a girl on their matrimonial bed.
The woman said this while responding to a divorce suit filed by her husband whom she accused of cheating on her. “I came home unannounced and I caught my husband making love to a girl; he jumped up when he noticed my presence.
“I also saw him with a woman in a hotel near our house when I went to buy food. “He begged me not to expose him because of his position in the church and I kept it a secret,” she said.
The respondent said her husband was always jealous and had often accused her of dating every man he saw her with. “My husband stopped me from working claiming men are dating me,” she said.

The mother of four said that what used to cause their frequent fights was his penchant for buying things for the children of his first wife and ignoring her own.
She begged the court not to grant her husband’s wish for the dissolution of the marriage, claiming that she was still in love with him.
Her husband, Joseph, had approached the court seeking to end his 11-year-old marriage over his wife’s alleged infidelity.
“My wife is cheating on me, she receives calls from men at odd hours,” he said.
The petitioner accused his wife of going out and returning at will.
“My wife abandoned me and the children for one year for an unknown destination; she came back and left for another seven months.
“She was always going to parties and spending days before coming back,” the estranged husband said.
The 47-year-old businessman said that his wife’s son from another father, in company with a gang, attacked him in his church with cutlass, rods and other dangerous weapons.
“My step-son that I trained came to my church with his gang in order to beat me up because I beat his mother,” he said.
He urged the court to terminate the marriage, saying he was no longer in love with his wife.
The President of the court, Mr Adegboyega Omilola, adjourned the case till June 28 for further hearing.

Nollywood actress Bewaji Folashade, is full of thanks to God as she saw her own life flash right before her eyes. It was yesterday evening around Akobo in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The actress had gone to a movie location and while returning, she took a bike not knowing they were kidnappers. As soon as she noticed something funny, they asked her to cooperate and the rode on. But a very smart her decided to fight back, knowing once they got to their destination she will be helpless. So as soon as they got somewhere where she noticed people might hear when she screams, she decided to fight them.They all fell from the machine and she kept screaming. House of Reps member, Garba Durbunde has been Kidnapped

A Kano State member of the Federal House of Representatives, Garba Durbunde, who represents the Sumaila/Takai federal constituency, has been kidnapped,.

According to Premium Times, Durbunde was kidnapped along Kaduna- Jere road on Tuesday while on his way to Kano from Abuja .

A lawmaker who pleaded anonymity reportedly confirmed the incident. He said the family of the kidnapped lawmaker are already in contact with the kidnappers.

The source also said the State Security Service are already investigating the kidnap.

Comedian Kathy Griffin may have been joking when she posed with what looked like the bloody head of Donald Trump, but the Secret Service isn’t laughing.
According to TMZ, Law enforcement sources say the Secret Service has launched an investigation into “the circumstances surrounding the photo shoot.”


The picture, featuring Griffin wearing a navy pussy-bow blouse and holding aloft a bloodied imitation of President Trump’s decapitated head.

Griffin herself shared the video from the shoot on her Twitter feed, while referencing Trump’s comments toward Megyn Kelly during the Republican presidential debates.
“I caption this ‘there was blood coming out of his eyes, blood coming out of his … wherever,'” Griffin wrote, quickly following it with a tweet that clarified that she didn’t condone violence toward the president and was only mocking him.

Internet reaction to the vivid photo was immediate, with many condemning Shields and Griffin for exacerbating an atmosphere of violence some believe has already been established by Trump.
Griffin later tweeted a video apology in which she asked that the image be taken down.

“I beg for your forgiveness,” Griffin says in a 30-second video posted on social media. “I went too far.”

Woman Parks Car To Use ATM In Lagos, Kidnapper Enters & Drives Off With Child & Grandma

This kidnapper was caught in Gbagada, Lagos, on Tuesday when he tried to kidnapped a baby and the baby's Grandma.

An eyewitness said, "The mother of the little baby just parked, left the Granny and baby in the car so she could use a nearby ATM.

"She left the car engine on and before she returned the kidnapper entered the car and drove off...

"Thank God for this soldier guy that just chased him down with a motorbike and it was really rough. The car somersaulted and the baby and grandma were both rescued with little injuries."
The kidnapper has been handed over to the Police.

Another whistle blower lands in prison for giving false information

 
The Nigeria Police Force on Tuesday arraigned a 50-year-old man, Ahmed Echodo, for allegedly misleading the police to conduct a raid at a building belonging to the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, on Friday.

According to the one-count charge, two defendants were accused of the offense, although only Mr. Echodo was arraigned at a magistrate court in Abuja.
Security operatives had ransacked Mr. Ekweremadu’s building on Friday morning following information accusing the occupants of criminal offenses. They found nothing incriminating during the search.According to the charge, the men, Mr. Echodo and Maiwada Adamu, are accused of conspiring to falsely inform the office of the IGP that the building, occupied by Oliver Ogenyi, is being maintained and used for criminal activities including storage of arms and ammunition.
The second accused, Mr. Adamu, was not in court while the first defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge. The prosecution counsel, Ismail Tawo, informed the court that Mr. Adamu was at large.
The magistrate, Umar Kagarko, asked the police to find and present him in court at the next sitting. The counsel to the defense, Peter Ngwoke, prayed the court to grant his client bail. Mr. Kagarko adjourned till June 5, for ruling on the bail application.

The woman pictured above, a midwife, has been arrested for allegedly stealing a newborn baby and replacing with a dead one in Ifo area of Ogun state.

According to an Instagram user, Adeyemi Abolore who shared the story, the woman absconded with the baby shortly after birth and returned with a dead one 12 hours later.

80 Die, 300 Wounded In Car Bomb Blast Near Embassies In Kabul

Atleast eighty people have been killed and 300 injured in a powerful car bomb explosion in the Afghan capital of Kabul.

Police said the blast, which was believed to have been triggered by a suicide bomber, was in an area close to the German embassy.

The explosion also shattered windows and blew doors off their hinges in houses hundreds of metres away.

Huge clouds of black smoke were seen spiralling over the area near the presidential palace and foreign embassies.

Kabul resident Fatima Faizi told Al Jazeera."The explosion was so loud that it shattered all my windows.

"(I have not heard) something this big before." This is so sad.

In reaction to the viral audio clip, the church has said that the voice in the recording does not belong to their pastor.
“The attention of the bishop and leadership of Our Daily Manna/Manna Prayer Mountain Ministry has been drawn to some voice messages being circulated via social media by some unscrupulous elements,” read the statement signed by Honesty Eguridu for pastoral council and board of deacons and deaconesses.
The statement further read: “The said audio voice recordings which have a semblance of the bishop’s voice are conveying adverse messages which are against the tenets and principles of the ODM vision.
“The most recent in the series of these cloned voice messages is the message asking the recipient to support the ODM vision with monetary donations by calling a certain number with a warning not to inform someone else about it.
“We want to state without any element of equivocation, that the voice message referred to above and others like it are not from Bishop (Dr.) Chris Kwakpovwe. The voice in these messages is not the Bishop’s voice.
“They are the handiwork of satanic agents who are employing the aid of technology to cause distraction and havoc in the body of Christ. We enjoin the Church and the general public to disregard it.”
