A speeding Benue Links bus has left many seriously injured, after somersaulting 3 times, along Enugu road.
According to one of the passengers who shared the story, the speeding driver lost control of
the bus which led to the somersault and subsequent halting in a nearby bush.

The same transport company were involved in an accident that claimed the lives of two corp members, who were returning home from orientation camp along Taraba-Benue road.

IBB University Lecturer caught and stripped naked while trying to sleep with a student for grade

A lecturer of the Department of English at the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, Niger State, Hajji Yusuf, was caught and stripped naked after the female student he wanted to sleep with set him up.
According to the report, he threatened to fail the student if she refuse to get down with him, so he came around to have sex with her as agreed, not knowing the student had planned with her boyfriend to disgrace him.

Seun Egbegbe finally gets bailed

After his bail hearing was adjourned to today, Friday 24, due to the failure of the police to file a counter affidavit, Seun has been granted 5Million bail from Federal High Court, Ikoyi.
Justice Oluremi Oguntoyinbo who presided over the case ruled Mr. Seun should be granted bail once he meets bail requirements.

"Both accused should be granted bail of N5million with two sureties each in a sum of N2.5million. That is four sureties altogether. One of the sureties must be a civil servant who has attained level 16 while the other surety must be a land owner in any part of Lagos metropolis.". 

"The landowner must submit Certificate of Ownership of the landed property and while the civil servant must submit his international passport to the court. The four sureties must swear to an affidavit while the house and office addresses and telephone number will be verified by the court," she added.

Bloody Commotion As Modu-Sheriff Pulls Down PDP National Secretariat Building, Escapes With All Important Documents

                        
                           

The Ahmed Markafi Faction of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has accused the Senator Ali Modu-Sheriff of illegally and forcefully gaining entry into the National Secretariat building of the party, on Thursday night, with the intention to steal vital documents.

Recall, that the Police on Thursday, had reopened the National Secretariat for the embattled National Chairman Ali Modu-Sheriff, for his victory at the Court of Appeal.

Sheriff, accompanied by some members of his National Working Committee, NWC, and a retinue of Aides and supporters, arrived at the Secretariat at 6 pm.

The Port Harcourt Division of the Court of Appeal, last Friday, pronounced Sheriff as the authentic Chairman of the party.

                    

Consequently, the Makarfi camp has approached the Supreme Court to challenge the ruling of the Appellate Court.

Reacting, a statement by the Spokesman of the Makarfi Faction, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, said:

“As far as we are concerned, the forcible entry of Ali Modu-Sheriff and his team into the party Secretariat is illegal and most unwelcomed.

“We say this because the keys to the Secretariat are with the Board of Trustees (BoT), and we have checked with them, and can confirm that the keys were not handed over to Sheriff or any of his followers.

“The implication of this was that he broke into the Secretariat, which is a criminal offence.

“We also expected that Modu-Sheriff should have waited for the conclusion of the appeal we filed at the Supreme Court, before he forced himself in, just like we held on when we got court judgement favouring us last year.

“We are condemning his action in totality, and we view it as an affront on the rule of law.

“Given his act of illegality, we stated clearly that he should be held responsible for any loss of documents or damage to the property within the party secretariat.

“The administrative staff as accounting officers was not around to see the event happen, and as the custodians of the property of the party, they refused to participate in the illegal entry made by Ali Modu-Sheriff.

“His action is provocative and is capable of causing another round of crisis in the party.

“We advise him in his own interest, to vacate the Secretariat immediately.

“We also call on authorities of the Nigerian Police, to prevent chaos by flushing Ali Modu-Sheriff and his team out of the PDP Secretariat and let all parties wait for the judgement of the Supreme Court, which is the highest court in the land.”

Woman Gives Birth In Lagos Commercial Bus

It was jubilation at Sabo area of Ikorodu, a suburb of Lagos, when a woman gave birth to baby girl inside a commercial bus.

The woman, who reportedly boarded the bus at Ijede, could not alight at the Sabo Bus Stop, as other passengers did, making the bus driver and his conductor suspicious.

An eyewitness said in the usual manner in Lagos, the conductor started yelling at the woman to get down from the bus, but she could not utter a word as she had fallen into labour.


It was said that the conductor, seeing that the woman was in labour, raised the alarm. But those around took to their heels, thinking a fight had started between the conductor and miscreants.

The eyewitness added that when the shout for help persisted, some officials of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, and other sympathisers moved closer, only to discover that the woman was in labour.

 They rendered necessary assistance and the woman delivered a baby girl few minutes after. Both the woman and her newborn were taken to the Health Centre, Ita-Elewa for medical attention, while her personal effects were kept in the custody of one of the sympathisers.

Fortunately for the woman, one of the good Samaritans was able to identify her and a message was sent to her husband, who also rushed to the scene.

 LASTMA officials and other sympathizers, who visited the health centre to catch a glimpse of the baby, were to said to have provided the items used for the deliveries.

A volunteer Traffic Mayor, popularly called Baba Isale Eko, who was also at the scene, said the delivery was easier compared with that of some women.

Redeemed Church Pastor In A N9m Fraud Scandal

A minister with Redeemed Christian Church of God, Ikosi-Ketu, Pastor Jamiu Ishola Kolawole has been arrested and charged before a Lagos court for allegedly defrauded one of his tenants, Dr Emeka Ugwunze to the tune of N9 million in Lagos.

The incident happened at 2 Gbagada Road, Gbagada, Lagos where Ugwunze rented an apartment on a two-storey building owned by Kolawole.

The defendant is now facing Criminal charge of obtaining money under false pretence and stealing before Isolo Magistrate’s court presided by Mrs O.A. Adedayo.

57-year old Pastor Kolawole, who was once deported from abroad, approached his tenant, Dr Ugwunze and asked him to pay seven years rent arrears because he was facing financial challenges due to his deportation.

According to PM Express, about one month later, he approached Ugwunze again and informed him that he had hectares of land in his Ikorodu hometown and he needed money to perfect the land documentation so that he would sell part of the land and use the rest to build houses on the remaining.

Kolawole then told his tenant that he wanted to sell his two-storey building, and use the money to process the Ikorodu land document at the Lagos State Land Bureau .

He explained to the victim that he did not want to sell the house to another person because he had assisted him in the past.

And to prove how serious and commited, Pastor Kolawole handed over to Ugwunze all the house documents to prove to him he actually wanted to sell the house.

During the court proceedings, Kolawole admitted that Ugwunze paid him the total sum of N9 million out of the N20 million they agreed with further agreement that he would pay the balance at a further date.

After obtaining the initial money, he disappeared and refused to sign deed of transfer to Ugwunze.

When it was time to balance him the remaining N11 million, Pastor Kolawole said he had changed his mind as his family advised him against selling the house.

When Ugwunze requested that the suspect should refund the initial N9 million paid to him, it was then he allegedly started dribbling Ugwunze for almost seven years now.

The scam was reported to the Special Fraud Unit and Kolawole was arrested and charged to court.

He pleaded not guilty and was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect the bail condition.

During the trial, Kolawole admitted that he actually obtained the money and wanted to sell the house but reneged when Ugwunze defaulted by not paying the balance.

He also told the court that he actually handed the house documents and was unable to return the litigant’s money because he took him to court.

The matter was adjourned till April 11, for cross examination and continuation of trial.

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has asked Christians to continue praying for President Muhammadu Buhari until he returns to the country hale and hearty.

The Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, Femi Adesina, on Tuesday in Abuja said the results of President’s medical tests suggested further rest.
The CAN President, Rev Samson Olasupo Ayokunle, urged Nigerians especially Christians not to cease praying for the President, the acting President and the country until he returns in good health and sound mind.

Ayokunle reminded Christians that it is their responsibility to pray for the country and her leaders in season and out of season.

“I call on all well meaning Nigerians, especially Christians not to cease praying for President Muhammadu Buhari as he takes further rest as advised by his doctors.

“It is needless reminding you that as Christians, our responsibilities include but not limited to making supplications, prayers, and intercessions, for all that are in the position of authority.

”That we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour…’” (1 Timothy 2:1-2)>

He also allayed fears being expressed in some quarters that the prolonged absence of Buhari has created a vacuum in the Presidency and cited the transfer of power to the Vice President.

“We don’t see the need for any hue and cry being made by some people that his unprecedented absence could create a vacuum in the Presidency.

“President Buhari has done what is needful by transferring power to the Vice-President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo who is up to the task.

“The Church should also continue praying for him for divine wisdom, knowledge and understanding as he discharges his constitutional responsibilities.”

Ayokunle called on the security agencies to rise up to the security challenges in the Southern Kaduna by flushing out the hoodlums who are still killing innocent people.

“We call on the security agencies in the country to stop the killings in Kafanchan despite the presence of policemen and soldiers in the area.

“We heard of recent attacks in Atakar and Kaninkon villages of Kaura and Jema’a Local Government Areas in the state.

“All hands should be on deck to flush out those criminals from their hideouts in order to restore a permanent peace to the Southern Kaduna communities once and for all,’’ Ayokunle said.

She Accepted Random Facebook Friend Request From Stranger - Now They're In Love

Random Facebook friend requests can be annoying - but for one teenager it turned her whole life upside down.

Rebecca Luff, 18, didn't know Michael Young when he added her by chance on the social network two years ago.

Just one tiny significant detail mattered - the 25-year-old lived in Adelaide, Australia.

Casually accepting the fateful friend request two years ago, and starting off with friendly conversation - before the pair fell in love .

The pair had been speaking online for months via Facebook and Skype and eventually made things official in December 2015.

After endless conversations, Michael came to Rebecca's home town of Plymouth in September 2016 where they spent three weeks in each other's company and travelled for a mini-break to Amsterdam.

Rebecca said: "When we first met it was like I had known him my whole life, it wasn't awkward at all. We just clicked.

"When we first started talking, I never thought it would be this serious.

"Nobody took us seriously for a long time; I think everyone thought it was all a bit bizarre."

Rebecca explained how leaving each other at the airport, "your stereotypical, movie-style, upsetting goodbye" as they didn't know when they would next see each other.

The couple, who have not seen each other since October 3, have now been dating for a year and a half.

After almost five months apart, Rebecca, who works for insurance company TH March, is taking a three-month sabbatical from her full time job to travel and spend three months with Michael in Australia.

She said: "I'm so excited to finally be able to go and visit the places he regularly tells me about, and of course finally get to meet his family and friends properly.

"It's strange because I already feel like I know them, we're Facebook friends and I regularly speak to them when we're on Skype to each other.

"His Nan is letting me borrow her car whilst I'm there so I can travel around whilst Michael is at work, which is lovely.

"The best part is, everyone is so supportive, and my Dad always tells me to do these crazy things whilst I'm young."

The couple plan on travelling around Australia as Rebecca really wants to visit Bondi Beach.

"It would be rude not to, since as I've gone all the way there," she said. "I need to tick it off my bucket list".

As for their future, they both know the day is going to come when one of them is going to have to take the plunge and move half way across the world so they can be together for everyday life.

Rebecca added: "It sounds incredibly cheesy, but if it's meant to be we will find a way to make it work".

Beyonce Cancels Coachella Performance On Doctor's Orders

                               

Beyonce has pulled out of her upcoming performance at Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival after being told by doctors to reduce her schedule during her pregnancy.

In a statement posted on the event's Facebook page, it was confirmed that she follow the advice and as such won't be headlining this year - but she will return for 2018.
"Following the advice of her doctors to keep a less rigorous schedule in the coming months, Beyonce has made the decision to forgo performing at the 2017 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival," the message read.
It comes just weeks after the star revealed she is expecting twins with her husband Jay Z.

There was hope she would be able to appear at Coachella after she performed live at the Grammys earlier this month.

CBN reintroduces charges on cash deposits, withdrawals

                       
                       
The Central Bank of Nigeria on Thursday announced that they have reintroduced bank charges on certain categories of cash deposits and withdrawals.
This came about three years after the apex bank stopped the charges.

In a circular to all Deposit Money Banks posted on its website, the regulator said the decision to reintroduce the charges on cash deposits was part of the review of charges on deposits and withdrawals under the cashless policy.

It said the decision was taken at the Bankers’ Committee meeting, which held in Abuja two weeks
ago.

The circular, signed by the Director, Banking and Payments System Department, CBN, Mr. Dipo Fatokun, stated that the committee decided that the cashless policy should be extended to the remaining 30 states of the federation.

It also directed that with effect from April 1, 2017:

• Banks in the states where the cashless policy was already operating, Lagos, Ogun, Anambra, Abia, Kano, Rivers and the Federal Capital Territory, would begin to impose charges on deposits and withdrawals above N500,000.

• Banks will from that date begin to charge individuals 1.5% and 2% for deposits and withdrawals between N500,000 and N1m.

•  Individuals depositing or withdrawing between N1m and N5m will be charged 2% and 3%, respectively.

• For amounts above N5m, banks will charge such individuals 3% and 7.5% for deposits and withdrawals, respectively.

This means any cash withdrawal or deposit by an individual under N500,000 would not attract any charge.

With regard to corporate customers, the CBN stated:

•  that deposits and withdrawals under N3m would not attract any charge, 
• but that customers depositing or withdrawing between N3m and N10m would be charged two per cent and five per cent, respectively.
• Also for deposits and withdrawals between N10m and N40m, customers will be charged three per cent and 7.5 per cent, respectively. 
• Deposits or withdrawals above N40m by corporate customers will attract a charge of five per cent and 10 per cent, respectively.

According to the CBN, the new policy on charges will be implemented in selected states on May 1 and August 1, this year; while the total implementation will be concluded on October 1.

The regulator noted that the committee agreed that income generated from the processing fees above the allowable cash limits would be shared between it and the banks in the ratio of 40:60.

However, the CBN said that existing exemptions to the policy such as revenue generating agencies of the federal, state and local governments (for lodgements) will be sustained. Also exempt from the processing fees are embassies, diplomatic missions, multilateral and aid agencies.

The CBN directed lenders to train their employees to enlighten customers on the new policy.

Future slams former label boss

Future has taken a swipe at his former label boss, Rocko, who is suing him for "neglecting him after helping him (Future) secure a deal with Epic and also promoting his career."
The U.S rapper, took to his Instagram page to blast Rocko, who signed him to A1 label in
2011, saying he's a "conman, a fake ni*ga and will die".

Rocko who denied reports of Future forfeiting  all royalties from his next two albums and 50% of money from his tour to him, saying he will always support Future while sharing the cover photo of Future's album, Hndrxx, slammed by Future, who said he "embraced him at his worse as a brother and tried to play him."

Italy, Germany, Belgium Deport 43 Nigerians

The deportees arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMlA), Lagos at about 8.40 p.m.

The deportees, who are all male, were brought back with a chartered Hifly aircraft with registration number CS-TQW, amidst tight security.

Alhaji Muhammad Sani Sidi, the Director-General, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), confirmed the development.

He said 33 of the deportees were from Italy, while the other seven and another three were deported from Germany and Italy, respectively.


Sidi, represented by Dr Onimode Bandele, the Deputy Director, Search and Rescue, NEMA, said NEMA and other sister agencies were at the airport to receive the deportees.

“They were deported for committing various offences in their host countries and as you can see, our agencies are here to do the needful.

“As a responsible government, we cannot just leave our citizens to enter the country without giving them a good welcome and assisting them to get back to their families,” he said.

Sidi advised Nigerians to stay in the country and develop it together.

He said some stipends would be given to the deportees to facilitate their transportation to their various destinations.

Other agencies whose officials were at the airport to receive the deportees included the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, the Nigerian Police Force and the Nigeria Immigration Service.
