The Nigerian national who was assaulted in Greater Noida has said
that no one helped them while they were being beaten up and claimed that
he had no clue why he was assaulted.
“We don’t know why we were assaulted, the mob hit us with rods, bricks and knives.
We asked people around for help, but not one called the police. Even our
colleagues did not help,” said the Nigerian national as quoted by ANI.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has assured
thorough investigation and action over the incident. The UP government
has said that a report will be provided to the Centre on the incident
soon.
“Attack on Nigerian students is a serious issue. Proper probe will be
done. Report will be provided to Centre at earliest,” said UP Minister
Siddharth Nath Singh.
The police have filed an FIR and five people have been arrested in
connection with the assault on the Nigerian nationals in Greater Noida
on Monday.
It all began when Manish Khari, a Class 12 student in Greater Noida,
died, reportedly of drug overdose on Friday. It was reported that the
boy was last been seen with five Nigerian students who lived in the
neighbourhood.
Soon after the rumours spread, the locals raided their home and also
accused them of being cannibals. The five Nigerian students were booked
for killing Khari and were later released after the questioning.
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj intervened into the matter on
Monday night and sought a report from the Uttar Pradesh government over
the attack on the Nigerian national. She also spoke to Uttar Pradesh
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath over the incident.
Meanwhile, Khari’s family insists that the police file murder charges
against the Nigerian students. Nigerian students have been protesting
against murder chargers and have held mass demonstrations. “Black lives
matter,” “We demand justice,” and “Skin tone is not a crime” were some
slogans that were heard outside the Kasna police station in Greater
Noida during a protest on Sunday.
With the pre-wedding photo shoot craze that has spread across Nigeria, a

Ex-Big Brother Africa housemates, Pokello and Beverly Osu are going after eachother ,
and their fight was sparked by a comment Beverly made on Tboss. Beverly
who talked about the gossip behind Tboss by fellow housemates, was
slammed by Pokello who reminded her that she was a gossip too, when they
were housemates at the Big Brother Africa house.
Beverly Osu, wrote; "Tboss don suffer oo u go fear gossip......this is so sad". She then got
an epic comment from Pokello. Beverly response was
just an counter-epic clapback. However, Beverly's fans told her to
ignore Pokello, as she's just looking for an opportunity to trend.

The plan of a Togolese lady, Idowu Dado, and a Chadian, Abdullahi
Mohammed, to start business ventures through proceeds of kidnapping has
landed them in detention.
The suspects were arrested by
operatives of the Zone 2 Police Command, Onikan, Lagos, while plotting
to kidnap a 15-year-old girl in the Ilasamaja area of Lagos.
26-year-old
Dado, who was married with two children, contacted Mohammed, 26, who
worked in a sachet water factory owned by the girl’s father, Mike
Ogbuachara.
The duo then co-opted Ogbuachara’s security guard, Peter Okechukwu, into the plot.
The gang reportedly planned to demand N10m as ransom for their victim.
However, Okechukwu was said to have leaked the secret to his boss, who then alerted the police.
The two suspects, who were arrested by detectives, were paraded before journalists at the Zone 2 Command headquarters, Onikan.
Okechukwu said Dado promised to give him N2m if the plan succeeded.
He
said, “Dado came to meet me on March 8, 2017 and asked if I was close
to my boss’ daughter and I said yes. She said she had a business for me
and asked if I was ready for it. She said she would come back the
following day so we could discuss the business.
“The following
day, she said she wanted us to kidnap my boss’ daughter. She said she
planned to demand N10m as ransom and if my boss refused to pay the
money, we would kill the girl and sell her body parts.
“Because I was not comfortable with the idea, I went to tell my boss and he asked me to play along and videotape the discussion.
“I
went back to meet her and agreed to the idea. When I asked what my
share would be, she said she had a gang and we would be five. She said
we would share the money N2m each. I told her to introduce me to other
members. She said one of them was working with my boss in the factory.
She didn’t tell me his name. She promised to call me later so we could
all meet in a hotel to perfect the plan.”
He explained that he continued to update his boss every time he spoke with Dado.
Okechuwkwu said he was surprised when the suspect suddenly cut off communication with him.
“I
went to see her and asked about the meeting. She began to threaten me,
saying if I ever leaked the secret, she would kill me. I was scared,” he
added.
The guard said he started monitoring the moves of Dado,
who lived beside the factory, adding that he advised his boss to report
to the police before it was too late.
The factory worker, Mohammed, said he was deceived by Dado because they both were of Togolese descent.
He
said, “My mother is a Togolese, while my father is a Chadian. I met
Dado after joining the factory three months ago. We only talk once in a
while. She called me sometime in March and said she wanted us to kidnap
my boss’ daughter.
“She said I should not bother myself much
because she would arrange two other boys to join us and after doing the
business, we could return to Togo to enjoy our loot. She said each of us
would get N2.5m. She promised to involve the factory’s security man. I
did not see her again until I was arrested.”
Dado, however, denied the allegations, saying Mohammed was the leader of the gang.
She
said, “Mohammed came to meet me and said they delivered over N800,000
to his boss every day and asked if the man would feel any pain if we
removed N10m from his account. I said I did not know.
“He
suggested that we should kidnap the man’s daughter and I agreed. He
promised to arrange boys to do the job. I went to meet the security man
to seek his opinion and he agreed to join us. When Mohammed learnt that I
had informed the security man, he became angry and said the man didn’t
know how to keep secrets.”
The mother of two children, who claimed to be a hair dresser, said she planned to start a business with her share of the ransom.
The spokesperson for Zone 2 Police Command, SP Dolapo Badmos, said investigations revealed that Dado was the leader of the gang.
She
said, “It is a case of attempted kidnap. While Mohammed is a Chadian,
Dado, the brains behind the kidnap, is from Togo. Mohammed lied that he
was a Nigerian and used fake names, until his real identity was
uncovered.
“The AIG Zone 2, Kayode Aderanti has ordered that
discreet investigation be done. We are working on getting their sponsors
and we will bring them to justice.”

Rohey Hydara's comments come 24 hours after Masood's mother, Janet Ajao, said she had 'shed many tears' for her son's victims.
In a statement released through the Metropolitan Police, Ms Hydara said:

His attack took a mere 82 seconds but left four people dead and more than 50 injured.
The British-born jihadi, 52, was on Whatsapp at 2.37pm, approximately

Colombians were outraged by rapper Wiz Khalifa, who posted photos of
himself visiting Pablo Escobar's grave after a concert in the drug
lord's home city of Medellin.
Wiz Khalifa shared photographs of himself smoking at the Cemetario
Jardins Montesacro, where fresh flowers - and a joint- were left beside
the drug lord's grave .
Medellin Mayor Federico Gutierrez called the rapper a 'scoundrel' and
commenters tore him apart for his 'disrespect' while equating Escobar to
a dictator and terrorist.
Escobar, the ruthless kingpin of the Medellin Cartel who killed
thousands of people, was responsible for importing 80per cent of the
cocaine in America during the 1980s.
Wiz Khalifa, who is known for being an avid marijuana user, posted
several images of himself smoking at the cemetery in ItagüÃ, where
Escobar is buried alongside his family.
Another photograph showed a close up of Escobar's gravestone, with a
joint prominently positioned next to the fresh flowers laid at his
burial site.
The rapper gave a concert in Medellin on Friday, and shared the photographs on his Instagram account this weekend.
Gutierrez criticized the rapper for 'advocating crime' and said he
should have paid his respects to Escobar's victims instead, according to
the BBC.
'It shows that this guy has never had to suffer from the violence inflicted by these drug traffickers,' Gutierrez said.

Justice Ibrahim Buba of a Federal High Court in Lagos has issued an
Anton Piller order, directing the seizure of a film titled “Okafor’s
Law” directed by Nollywood Producer, Omoni Oboli.
The court also issued an interim order, suspending the release and
launch of the film, in any movie theatre or cinema house on March 31,
pending the determination of a motion on notice before the court.

The judge ordered the seizure of all copies, materials, projections or
infringing materials, relating to the subject matter. The orders
followed an ex parte application filed by a company, Rancoteur
Productions Ltd, on behalf of a Canada based script writer, Jude Idada.
Idada lays claim to the film “Okafor’s Law” as his intellectual
property. The plaintiff had filed the suit through Anthony Idigbe,
seeking an order, halting the premiere and release of the said “Okafor’s
Law”, pending the determination of a copyright infringement suit filed
against Oboli.
The court thereafter, fixed March 29 for hearing of the motion on
notice. Idada had accused Oboli of copyright infringement on the
“Okafor’s Law” movie, adding that she had stolen his story idea for the
movie in September 2016.
He alleged that Oboli took the work he had done regarding “Okafor’s Law”, and developed it without giving him due credit.
