Queen Elizabeth II reported to police for not using seat belt

The Queen in the car 21 June 2017
The Queen of England, Queen Elizabeth II has been reported to West Yorkshire Police for not wearing a seat belt in the official car for the State Opening of Parliament. A 999 call was said to have been made by someone saying the monarch was not strapped in while being driven through London.

The phone call was confirmed in a tweet by the West Yorkshire force, which added the hashtags #not999 #notevenwestyorkshire.

Civil and criminal proceedings cannot be taken against the Queen in UK law.

The Queen travelled to Westminster alongside Prince Charles for the formal start of the Parliamentary year.

Her press office said it would not comment on the tweet.

Tom Donohoe, of West Yorkshire Police, said too often 999 calls were made for non emergencies.
"I cannot stress enough that the 999 number is for emergencies only," he said, adding that the force typically received more than 1,000 emergency calls a day.

It has previously published a list of inappropriate 999 calls that have taken up police time, including a fly being in a bedroom and a mouse on the loose.

As for the law regarding seat belts, the government website says: "You must wear a seat belt if one is fitted in the seat you are using."

It adds you can be fined £500 for not doing so, but there are some exceptions such as drivers reversing or a vehicle being used by police, fire or rescue services.

The Royal Family website says "the Queen is careful to ensure that all her activities in her personal capacity are carried out in strict accordance with the law".

Young father dies after police used arrested him over alleged robbery (photos)

A dad who died after police used ‘force’ and CS spray during his arrest had a broken neck, his family claim. Edir Frederico Da Costa, known as Edson, was in a car with two others when it was stopped by officers from the Metropolitan Police in Newham, East London.

His father claims police suspected the car had been involved in a robbery.
Ginario da Costa told a Portuguese news agency his son, 25, insisted he had done nothing and resisted.
Mr Da Costa said friends had told him: “He fell to the ground and a policeman put a knee on his throat.” According to the police watchdog the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) which is investigating, Edson became “unwell” during his arrest.
Paramedics were called and witnesses said CPR was performed at the scene.
Edson was taken to hospital where he remained in a coma on a life support machine until he died six days later.
The IPCC is appealing for witnesses to come forward.
A post-mortem exam was carried out on Thursday and the IPCC said: “The pathologist concluded there were no injuries to suggest severe force was used. “Further investigations will be undertaken by the pathologist to establish the cause of death.”

A 400 level student of the University of Calabar (UNICAL), Emmanuel Dominic, has been arrested by the police in Calabar Cross River State for allegedly N300, 000 from a fruit seller.

According to the fruit seller who prefers anonymity, the suspect identified as Emmanuel Dominic has been coming around her business place.

It all started with his frequent patronage and friendliness, sometimes he will be in possession of my phone in the name of collecting music at times movies, at times I do ask him to help charge my phone for me in that barbing salon (pointing at the barbers shop adjacent to her fruit stand) where we all do" she said.
“I saved that money for my school issues because I have finished since two years ago, I did my project and all that is left to do my clearance which includes my outstanding fees and is the major reason I am doing this business and saving that money in my UBA account. Recently my partner went to the bank to use the ATM to withdraw some money to solve an urgent issue and upon reaching there the machine kept telling him insufficient funds”.
Continuing her account, she said:
“We went to the bank (UBA Calabar road branch, the one opposite Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company, PHEDC) for enquiry and discovered that severally recharge cards ranging from 5000 plus and at times transfer have been done from my account to another using my phone. They advised us to keep cool not to scare the person and think carefully. When the records were shown to me and I thought over it and then discovered that Dominic is the one behind it, some days he usually pass and would pretend not to notice us one day I ran after him and held his shirt asking him why he did what he did to me, he denied but because of the drama people came and at the end to prove his innocence he went to the bank with us and eventually it was his number that appeared in the many recharge card purchase and his friend’s account number that he does transfer my money to. At the end he opened up and told us that he used the money to solve some problems”
CrossRiverWatch findings reveal that the several transactions Dominic allegedly did from the fruit sellers account were within the period of 16th May, 2017 and 15th June, 2017.
"While still at the bank, upon Dominic’s confession, his mother fainted. The account Dominic usually transfer the money to belongs to one of his course mate, Otu whom our sources disclosed that the suspect, who is the only son of his mother, usually tells that his uncle is sending money through his account and when it drops, Otu does the withdrawal and hands over but when Dominic was caught, he sent Otu a text saying he shouldn’t go to his bank that all the money he’s been withdrawing for him is stolen."

Cheating doesn't make your husband a bad person, it only validates him as a man - Actress Funke Adesiyan

Nollywood actress, Funke Adesiyan is dishing out some advise to women. According to her, cheating doesn't make ones husband a bad person, it only validates him as a man!

She wrote:
Good morning guys. I read many comments from my last post and I couldn't stop laughing. It's funny that it's women who are answering for their men that the men don't cheat on them. My sisters, let the men answer for themselves. The truth is a bitter pill to swallow. You cannot answer for people. I stand by my position 100%. I know that as a modern woman, we aim to break away from the norm and be as westernised as possible but believe me, it happens everywhere. It's only those who got caught that are referred to as offenders. Not many men can sincerely say they have been with only their partner for 10yrs without "playing". It doesn't make them bad people, it just makes them men.

Ali Baba blasts those calling for the release of Billionaire kidnapper, Evans

Ace comedian and actor, Ali Baba, has angrily reacted to the calls for arrested billionaire kidnapper, Chikwudubem Onwuamadike aka  Evans' to be freed from detention.

In the post, which he shared on Instagram, the comedian also spoke on some of the societal issues facing the nation

He wrote:

'I said it before, that we got here, where our country now stagnates, as a consequence of what we failed to do, what we allowed and a combination of all we did individually and collectively.
But most assuredly, as a result of letting evils in our society go unpunished. Someone goes into government, owning only a bungalow, comes out after a term in office with several properties, serious balances in their domiciliary accounts, several cars yet there is no way, that official's salaries and allowances can fund all those. And when questions are asked, it's witch hunting.
How much was your paid tax since you are the owner of all these wealth indicators? How did you make the money? Can you imagine some idiots are asking that a confessed kidnapper be freed? We are not talking petty thieves, who steal food to feed his family. Someone who caused families pain. Made the lives of their victims hell. And even got some killed. How do you people sleep at night?
I have a friend, a commissioner in Ogun State, whose father-in-law was kidnapped, the ransom was demanded and paid. Yet, over 5 or 6 years on, the body of the man has not been found. Did you see the robbers in the Zenith bank video that went viral? How can you listen to such heartless criminals and say it's ok to forgive.
How would the family of the police officer take it? Now you know why corruption is fighting back. All those who have survived through lawlessness and illicit businesses are the ones fighting back on behalf of corruption. Same goes for so-called unknown soldiers.
There is a disagreement, next thing a bunch of soldiers will hop on a vehicle raze down a police station, burn down a BRT bus, shoot and maim... And this happens every now and then. Yet no heads roll. That's why they will do it again. Herdsmen enter someone's farmland. Trample on planted crops, an on going business concern. Even schools. No consequences.
A legislator opens a colleague's head with a mace. No punishment. Someone kidnaps a sitting governor and brags about it. Nothing happens to him. You embezzle pensions of elders who served Nigeria. And walk free. You burst pipelines. And get Amnesty of 1.3m monthly. What do I know...
