Lagos Suspends NURTW Activities Indefinitely Following Hamburger’s Death
The affected branches are LOB A, LOB D, LOB J, Oshodi A, Oshodi B, Oshodi C and Oshodi D.

Oluomo, who has been in the United States of America since May 21 in a press statement, said those peddling the rumour were bent on tarnishing his image, saying that the allegations were malicious and far from the truth.

My attention has been drawn to a video making round and purported prepared by one Adedigba Adepegba a.k.a Talo alleging that I am after his life and some other people.
This is very far from the truth. I want to categorically state here that I am not after anybody. As we speak, I am not even in Nigeria at the moment.
I had traveled to the United States of America for my daughter’s graduation ceremony on May 21, 2017 (You can see from my passport), got to Atlanta, USA on the 22 and attended my daughter’s graduation on the 25th and it was while I was there that I learnt of the sad demise of Rasak Bello popularly called Hamburger.
But I became more worried and hence the need for my reaction when someone alerted me over the weekend that one Adedigba Adepegba a.k.a Taloskibo was saying that I was after his life.
Let it be known to everyone that I am a peace loving Nigeria and a good citizen of Lagos State.
But some persons are hell bent peddling all sorts of lies against me for interest best know to them
They are the ones fuelling all these rumours of me being after them to tarnish my image. There are people trying to trigger trouble where there is none.
I want to say emphatically again that Adedigba Adepegba aka Talo and his cohorts and sponsors should caution himself from peddling my name as being after his life. I am not after him or anybody.
I have a reputation to protect, I am a peace loving person and I remain loyal to the ideals, policies and programmes of the present administration of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode who is doing very well for every Lagosian as well as our party leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu who has been a father to everyone.
I am Oluomo not because I am a fighter or trouble maker, but because of my generosity. I am Oluomo because of my peaceful nature and accommodating attribute to both young and old, male and female in all spheres of life.
All we want is peace in Oshodi and nothing more but above all my loyalty is to where I stand and obviously my stand is to the progress of Lagos state government, His Excellency Mr. Akinwumi Ambode and Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu whom has been a good exemplary leader to us all in Lagos and beyond.

Woman sues hospital after she was wrongly diagnosed of HIV 15 years ago
A woman who was wrongly diagnosed as HIV-positive as a child is now suing the Thai Ministry of Public Health for an alleged ruined childhood.
Suthida Sangsumart, was
diagnosed with AIDS when she was 8 years old by a doctor from the
Suvarnabhumi Hospital in Roi Et province after her father passed away
from the same disease..
Now, 15 years later, she is suing the Suvarnabhumi Hospital because as it turns out — she’s not HIV positive.
Earlier this week, Suthida and her lawyer Songkran Achariyasab allowed members of the media to watch her latest blood test at the Thai Red Cross Society’s Anonymous Clinic.
She said;
“I
started taking the medicine on HIV disease since then. I had to move to
Samut Prakarn province after people in my hometown disliked me because
of my father’s cause of death and the doctor’s diagnosis that I had
Aids,”
‘I cried alone every night at home. No money could repay what I lost and I would like to tell the doctor.’
Suthida
had to take anti-retroviral drugs every day since her diagnosis at
eight-years-old, but stopped five years ago when she was first pregnant.
Following
blood tests from other hospitals at the time and from this year,
Suthida was told she doesn’t actually have HIV at all and that neither
her husband and children are infected with it.
Man Busted While Stealing Wine At Shoprite Worth N65,200
A 26-year-old man, Tajudeen Balogun, was brought before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing two bottles of wine valued at N65, 200.
Mr. Balogun, a residing in Ikorodu, near Lagos, allegedly stole the wine at the Shoprite in the Ikeja Shopping Mall at Alausa.
The prosecutor, Clement Okuoimose, said the accused committed the offence on May 28. “The accused came into the mall under the pretext of buying some goods and stole two bottles of Laurent wine and hid them inside his shirt.
“When he got to the entrance, the security men stopped him for checking and they discovered the items under his shirt. “He was handed over to the police,” the prosecutor said.
The offence contravened Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Section 287 prescribes three-year jail term for stealing.
Mr. Balogun, however, pleaded not guilty to the offence and was granted bail in the sum of N50, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
The Magistrate, Y.O. Ekogbulu, adjourned the case until June 28 for mention.
Toyin Lawani’s baby daddy arrested for debt and alleged fraud in Lagos
Serial entrepreneur, Toyin lawani’s baby daddy, Lordtrigg has been arrested by the Lagos State police.According to the reports, the 25-year-old is currently at the Jakande police station, Lekki, Lagos, for not paying his hotel bills at the Golden Bird Hotel in Ilasan, Lekki.
After much persuasion to pay up and they refused, the owner of the hotel this morning called in the police to arrest them.
While two of them are on the run, Lordtrigg and one of his friends were arrested. He is currently in police detention at the Ilasan Police station in Jakande in the Ajah axis of Lagos. It was gathered that they have been staying at the hotel for six months without paying.
Ex Newcastle Mildfielder Cheick Tiote Died During Training
Former Newcastle midfielder Cheick Tiote has died aged just 30 after collapsing during a training session for Chinese Super League side Beijing Enterprises Group FC.
His agent Emanuele Palladino said: "It is with deep sadness that I confirm that my client Cheick Tiote sadly passed away earlier today after collapsing in training with his club Beijing Enterprises.
"We cannot say any more at the moment and we request that his family's privacy be respected at this difficult time.
"We ask for all your prayers."
Tiote moved to the second-tier China team from St James' Park last February after six years on Tyneside, having only featured three times for Toon in the season just gone.
He had played 11 times for Beijing since the move. The club have yet to make a statement on Tiote’s health.

AIT’s Raymond Dokpesi and former Labor party chairman, Dan Iwuanyanwu Open New Party
Raymond Dokpesi, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), joined some notable politicians to unveil a new party – the Advanced Peoples Democratic Alliance (APDA) on Monday.
Dan Nwanyanwu, former chairman of the Labour Party, is also at the occasion which is ongoing at Reiz Continental Hotels in Abuja.
The slogan of the new party is ‘Stronger Together’, and one Shitu Kabiru is its interim national chairman. The national executive committee of the party is yet to be constituted.
Dokpesi is the founder of DAAR Communications, owner of African Independent Television (AIT).
Before Monday’s event, there had been speculations that “disgruntled” members of the PDP were planning to establish a new party.

Man Murders Lover And Her 5-Year Old Son
An Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Lagos on Friday ordered the remand of 30-year-old Elvis Aihuaen, who allegedly murdered his lover and her five-year-old son.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Oluyemisi Adelaja, ordered that Aihuaen should be kept at the Ikoyi Prisons pending the advice of the state Director of Prosecutions.
Consequently, the court did not take the plea of the accused.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria the accused, who resides on Omolaja Street, Obadore, Igando, a Lagos suburb, was charged with killing 28-year-old Blessing Ajayi and her son, Ogomide.
According to the prosecutor, Insp. Chinalu Nwadione, the accused committed the murder on Aug. 21, 2016, at about 11p.m., at his residence.
Nwadione said that Aihuaen beat Ajayi to death and dumped her lifeless body inside a septic tank, adding that he straggled her son and hit his head with a big stone on the same day.
He submitted that the accused dumped the lifeless body of the child in a bush near Iba Bridge on LASU-Iba Road.
He noted that the offences contravene Sections 221 and 163 (B) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2011.
The case has been adjourned till March 1.
Apprentice Connives With Herbalist To Kidnap Boss' Son
A middle-aged man, identified as Obinna Stephen, has been arrested by the Ondo State Police Command for his alleged involvement in the kidnap of an eight-year-old boy in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
The victim is a child of Stephen’s boss, Mr. Ezechiefor Chuks, who is a trader in electrical materials in Arakale Market, Akure, while the suspect is an apprentice.
The suspect was paraded on Friday at the police headquarters in Akure along with three other suspects, among whom is a herbalist, identified as Eze Ifeanyi.
Other two suspects are Joel Carol and Christopher Anthony.
After the abduction of the boy, the suspects reportedly demanded N50m ransom before they were arrested by operatives of the state police command on Omoniyi Estate in Akure.
The state Commissioner of Police, Mrs. Hilda Harrison, said Stephen planned with other suspects to kidnap his boss’ son at Don Bosco Catholic Church, Akure.
She said, “On receipt of the kidnap report, we swung into action and got the suspect (Stephen) arrested.
“Upon interrogation, he confessed to the complicity in the crime. Further enquiries led to the arrest of other suspects.”
According to the commissioner, the kidnap victim was rescued unhurt and united with his family.
She said some “dangerous items” were recovered from the suspects, including one locally-made pistol, one berretta pistol, some live ammunition, and two live cartridges.
She also said the suspects would be arraigned in court at the conclusion of investigation.
Police Arrest Robbers As They Tried To Strangle Victim Over N60K
Four suspected armed robbers have been arrested and charged before a Lagos court for allegedly attempting to strangle a victim over N60,000.
The suspects are Hamed Sanni, 33, Ifeanyi Sunday,32, Owolabi Kolawole,
29 and Muyideen Alimi 21. P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened
at the hoodlums’ base at Five Star bus stop along Apapa-Oshodi
Expressway in Lagos.
It was gathered that the victim, Adegunwa Taiwo was driving his SUV
along the expressway when the vehicle developed mechanical faults. He
parked and came down to check what was wrong with the vehicle, the
suspects came out from their hiding places and pounced on him.
As they attacked and searched him, there was an attempt to take the
money he had with him in his pocket but he struggled with them and they
decided to strangle him.
However, before they could achieve their plot, a Police patrol team
arrived and the robbers were arrested and detained at Aswani police
division.
They were charged before Isolo Magistrates with attempted to strangle
the victim and stealing under the Criminal Code. They pleaded not
guilty.
The prosecutor, Mr Oje Uagbale presented facts before the court and
asked the court to sentenced him accordingly. The presiding Magistrate,
Mrs O.N. Ogbe ordered their remand in prison custody and adjourned for
sentence.

Suspected Baddo group member burnt to death this morning in Ikorodu
A suspected Badoo member was lynched and burnt to death this morning in Oni-Ogunsanya Street, Olomomeje Mosque Area, Aga in Ikorodu, Lagos State.
According to Ikorodu Ambassadors Group on Facebook, he was first arrested by the Vigilante Group of the area, and the mob prevented the Police, SARS and the Vigilante from taking the suspect away.
Two people from the crowd were also reportedly hit by a stray bullet that was shot to disperse the crowd, one was hit on the hand and the other on the head.
