Manchester United star Matteo Darmian gets married in wedding ceremony in Italy (Photos)

Matteo Darmian
Manchester United star Matteo Darmian has married fiancee Francesca Cormanni in a grand ceremony in Italy.
Darmian has enjoyed a memorable few weeks after helping his side win the Europa League and was part of the Italy team that beat Uruguay in a friendly and then recorded an emphatic 5-0 victory over Liechtenstein in a World Cup qualifier, Mirror reports.

The 27-year has now topped off his summer by tying the knot with his long-term partner who have been together since they were teenagers.
The Italy international got married at a church just minutes away from his home town of Legnano, near to Milan, and was thrilled to have a number of family and friends at the ceremony including ex-United team-mate Morgan Schneiderlin.
Alessio Cerci, who played alongside Darmian at Torino, was also in attendance as Darmian enjoyed an unforgettable day.
Reports have suggested that Darmian could be heading out of the exit door at Old Trafford and with the arrival of new signing Victor Lindelof, those rumours will only intensify over the summer.
The United defender only made 15 stars last season and has been linked with a return to AC Milan.

Elected Lesotho Prime Minister Wife Shot Dead

The wife of incoming Lesotho Prime Minister Tom Thabane was shot dead late yesterday, two days before her husband's inauguration, raising fears of another wave of political violence in the southern African mountain kingdom.

Police spokesperson Clifford Molefe said Lipolelo Thabane, 58, was traveling home with a friend when both women where shot by an unknown assailant in the town of Masana, just outside the capital, Maseru.

Molefe said Lipolelo died on the scene while her friend was taken to a nearby hospital. Molefe said the motive of the shooting was unknown and that investigations were ongoing.

Lesotho, which has been on a political knife-edge since an attempted coup in 2014, held elections last week, the third in five years, after then-prime minister Pakalitha Mosisili lost a no-confidence vote in March.

Thabane and Lipolelo had been living separately since 2012 after Thabane filed for a divorce which had yet to be granted by the courts.

CNN features Nathaniel Bassey's praise and worship movement

CNN has featured Nigeria's Nathaniel Bassey's Halleluyah Challenge! It is perhaps an unlikely setting for a praise and worship session. But every day at midnight, thousands of worshippers around the world have logged on to Instagram to lift their voices in praise and prayer, united by one hashtag: #HalleluyahChallenge.

More than 60,000 people have joined in the Instagram praise and worship in an hour long midnight gathering, which is the brainchild of Nigerian gospel singer Nathaniel Bassey.

It all started with a simple post on his Instagram page on the 31st of May, where Bassey signaled his intention to start a 30-day midnight praise challenge throughout the month of June.

Even Nigeria's expensive internet data costs have seemingly not deterred eager worshipers who have flocked to the livestream on his Instagram and Facebook pages.

At it's peak, around 68,000 people have joined the Instagram livestream, while over 50,000 joined the Facebook livestream.

Statistics from Evolve Press reveal 10,000 posts with the hashtag "#HallelujahChallenge" and over 18,000 with the hashtag "#olowogbogboro" making it the number one trend in Nigeria.

Bassey said he did not imagine the movement would become so popular on Facebook and Instagram.

"I had a sense which is the leading of the spirit to praise God the whole of this month," Bassey told CNN

"Against the backdrop of the challenges in the world today especially in our nation, with the scourge of terrorism and the recession ... it has brought a sense of hope and respite. It is a reflection of the desire and hunger for answers and for hope," he said.

Bassey frequently shares testimonies of participants who say taking part in the challenge has yielded results and a change in their circumstances.

"I didn’t know what he was into if not I would have been the one to stop him" Father Of Billionaire kidnapper Evans React To His Arrest

Notorious billionaire kidnap kingpin, Chukwumeme Onwuamadike aka Evans, said in a recent interview that he would never have been caught, except that his charms failed at the last minute. He made this known yesterday during an interview with newsmen.
He disclosed that he has a native doctor resident in Nnewi, Anambra State who prepares charms for him and gives him so much courage in its efficacy.

According to reports by New Telegraph, Evans revealed that the native doctor is a traditional ruler and is the power behind his criminal activities. He said he had promised him that no policeman born of a woman could ever arrest him. Evans got anxious when policemen stormed the Igando residence where he keeps his victims so he ran to the native doctor for help and the man assured him that he had nothing to fear.

He said:
“The native doctor resides in Nnewi, Anambra State. He is a traditional ruler. After police busted our Igando hideout, he told me to have no fear. He said nothing would happen. He told me that nobody would be able to catch or arrest me. I believed him. I don’t know what went wrong.”
This new revelation comes on the heels of the news that Evans' mother, Mrs Chinwe aka Lady Nwosu, has gone into hiding. New Telegraph spoke with Evans' uncle,  Daniel Nwosu, who stands in as the head of the Nwosu family in Akamili village, Umudim, Nnewi. The uncle, who has been bed-ridden for a while, was asked about the whereabouts of his sister, the suspect's mother, but he said he has not heard from her for a very long time. He said that it was only Chinwe’s husband, Stephen Onwuamadike, who would be able to give account of her whereabouts.

Nwosu told New Telegraph:
“I don’t have anything to say because I don’t know anything about the boy (Evans). If I see him now, I may not even recognise him. It’s been a very long time I saw him last. He doesn’t come home or visit his maternal home. So, what can I say about him? You know children have a way with their mothers. It’s possible she knows what Chidumeme (Evans) is into or not. It is the father or mother that can talk about their child. I don’t have anything to say, but I appeal to the authorities to have mercy on him and forgive him. Children of this generation do not listen to advice; if not, why would he delve into such bad business, knowing the implications. It is because of money? See where it has got him.”
Nwosu further disclosed that when he heard the news of Evans’ arrest, he called the suspect’s mother but she neither picked nor called back. Nwosu said that he had not been communicating with Chinwe for a long time because the woman did not reach out to them.

He said:
“I have not spoken with Chidumeme’s mother for a very long time and I don’t know where she is and what is happening around her. She should be up there in her husband’s house, but now I’m hearing she is not there. I don’t understand what is happening. It’s unfortunate and sad. She is just who she is. I have been sick and bed-ridden for a long time. I don’t go out at all hence; I don’t know what is happening around here.”
Evans' father denied the rumours that he divorced Evans' mother and said he could never do that because they took an oath that only death can do them part. He had earlier said that his estranged wife left her matrimonial home without telling anybody where she was going to.
He said:
“I cannot divorce her because we took an oath on our wedding. The oath is that we will be together for better or worse, till death do us part. Death is the only thing that can separate us. I did not also disown Evans as is being circulated. He remains my son. If he is given a second chance and he returns home, I will welcome and accept him. It was sad I didn’t know what he was into; if not, I would have been the one to stop him, by bringing my friends in the force to arrest and torture him to stop.”
A house allegedly built by Evans’ mother for one of her brothers who lives in Port Harcourt was discovered in Nnewi. The maternal home of the kidnap kingpin was discovered to be a quiet middle-class home with a Toyota Rav 4 vehicle parked in a garage

26-Years Marriage Dissolved Over Wife’s Stealing Habit

An Ibadan Customary Court today dissolved the 26- year-old marriage between Wasiu Adebisi and Idowu Adebisi, based on the husband’s complaint that he could no longer cope with his wife’s stealing habit.
The couple has four children. The President of the court, Chief Mukaila Balogun, granted Adebisi’s prayer considering that Idowu had failed to honour series of summonses to defend herself.

Balogun ordered that the two older children be in the custody of the plaintiff, while the younger children remain with the defendant.

He also ordered the plaintiff to pay N6,000 monthly allowance for the maintenance of the two children in the care of the defendant.

Adebisi, a transporter, had told the court that he could no longer continue with the marriage because of the embarrassment his wife’s shameful act had caused him.

“”She is in the habit of stealing my money but has extended the stealing to the neighborhood and is causing embarrassment for me.

“”Though I reported to her parents who tried all possible means to curb the shameful act but my wife refused to turn a new leaf and has rendered me broke.

“I dare not keep money or other valuable items in the house because she would locate wherever I kept it and steal it.

“”Therefore, I want this court to end the marriage so that I will be able to have savings and recover from this poor living standard,”“ Adebisi pleaded.

However, Idowu was not in court.

Moji Olaiya Family Reveals The Real Cause Of Her Death

The family of the late Nollywood actress, Moji Olaiya, on Monday, released a statement indicating that the autopsy conducted on her remains showed that she died of a ‘natural medical cause’.
In a statement by Moji’s brother , Femi Olaiya, the family dismissed rumours that the late actress was poisoned in Canada where she was delivered of a baby girl in Feburary.
However, doctors, who spoke with PUNCH’s correspondent on Monday, said that the autopsy report suggested that the late mother of two must have died of a traceable and demonstrable medical cause.
A medical consultant with the Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso, Oyo State, Dr. Adeoye Oyewole said, “Someone is said to have died of a ‘ medical cause’ when there is a traceable and demonstrable medical pathology that is related to the death. The term ‘natural medical cause’ is not medical.
“For instance, if the person had suffered a heart or cardiovascular event just before he/she died, that is a traceable medical cause. If the person also had an underlying medical condition like an enlarged heart but an event triggered a shock to the system to have caused the death, it is also a medical cause.”
A cardiologist with the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba, Dr. Afolabi Akinkunmi, corroborated Oyewole’s views, saying there was always a medical cause to every death; and an autopsy was usually carried out to establish the exact or underlying cause of the individual’s death.
Akinkunmi said, “There is always a medical cause for every natural death. If you have any doubt, then the autopsy report is conducted and the coroner will state it on the death certificate.”
Another expert. Dr. Babajide Saheed, noted that a person who suffered a sudden cardiac arrest or a condition that shuts down the brain or nervous system in a short time is said to have died of a natural cause.
Saheed said, “There is always a medical pathology to every natural death. So a natural death means that there is nothing you could have done to help the individual, such as if the person experienced a sudden cardiac arrest and died even before getting to the hospital.
“If a person that has a terminal disease such as leukemia dies, it is a natural death because there is nothing you could have done for the patient. These are natural deaths with a traceable medical pathology.”
The actress died on May 18 in Canada and her remains were interred at the Ebony Vaults, Ikoyi Cemetery, on Wednesday.

At Least 19 Killed In Somali Hotel Attack

At least 19 people were killed when Islamist militants launched a car bomb and gun attack on a busy hotel and adjacent restaurant in the Somali capital, a police officer said on Thursday.

A car driven by a suicide bomber rammed into the Posh Hotel in south Mogadishu on Wednesday evening before gunmen rushed into Pizza House, an adjacent restaurant, and took 20 people hostage. Posh Hotel is the only venue with a discotheque in the capital.

District police chief Abdi Bashir told Reuters Somali security forces took back control of the restaurant at midnight after the gunmen had held hostages inside for several hours. Five of the gunmen were killed, Bashir said.

"We are in control of the hotel but it was mostly destroyed by the suicide bomber," he told Reuters by phone.

Witnesses said there were bodies lying at the scene on Thursday morning as ambulances came to take them away.

Another 27 civilians were taken to hospital with various injuries, ambulance services said. Witnesses said the attack was launched after the Iftar dinner for customers who are fasting for Ramadan. Most of them were still inside relaxing.

The wreckage of three-wheeled scooters caught up in the blast at the hotel, which also housed a massage parlor, lay overturned around the scene.

Al Shabaab, the Islamist militant group, claimed responsibility for the attack. The group claimed on Thursday morning it killed more than 20 people including soldiers and government workers.

Al Shabaab usually provides a higher death toll from its attacks than the government's figures. Just sad!
