Man who stabbed wife to death after one month of court marriage have been arrsested by the Police
The Bayelsa State Police Command, has arrested an Australian returnee, Stephen Ogho-Oghene Akpata, who reportedly stabbed his wife an employee of Glo, Onyinye, to death following suspicion of infidelity, after making love to her for about an hour.
According to the State’s Commissioner of Police, Mr. Amba Asuquo, he was arrested in Lagos following his failed attempt to flee to Ghana. It was also gathered that the incident was first reported to the police on August 16, when one Moses Awo complained that Onyinye, 33, failed to report to her place of work.
As a team of Police Officers stormed her apartment, the deceased who is from Abia State, was found in the pool of her blood.
He said: “We recovered three quarter knickers from the scene.” On how the deceased was killed, Asuquo said: “Marks of violence on the deceased’s head, face, neck and body revealed that the deceased was strangled with the pressing iron and its coil tied round her neck and stabbed with a knife to her death”.Here are photos;
On how the police cracked the crime, he said: “The three quarter knickers had blood stains. We tried to find out who was with the girl because we know that she had just contracted a registry marriage with Akpata.
We got in touch with him and he gave us the impression that he was out of town. But he was plotting his own escape. We found out that prior to the incident, he had expended much money on the girl. They were moving from one hotel to the other.
So, we got in touch to some of the hotels that he had lodged. We observed he didn’t own a car since he came in from Australia. We identified the taxis that were extending services to him.
We got one of the taxi drivers and he confirmed that he had seen the man wearing the same knickers. Some of the hotels confirmed they had seen the man wearing the same knickers. Since he said he was in Lagos, we suspected that Ghana or Republic of Benin was the likely destinations for him..
We got in touch with the embassies. He actually slept in Ghanaian Embassy but he later escaped back to Badagry where he was arrested.”

Man stabbed to death in Lagos night club over woman
A 24-year old man, Charles Okoro has been arrested and charged before a Lagos court for allegedly stabbing his rival, Emeka Ojukwu to death at a popular night club over lover.
The incident happened at Tanza nite club located at Bayo Oyewole Street, Ago area of Okota, Lagos.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the suspect had disagreement with the victim over a woman during clubbing activities.
The disagreement resulted in exchange of words and fighting between the duo.
It was gathered that during the squabble, Okoro went to the club kitchen, brought out a knife and stabbed Ojukwu severally.
The victim bled profusely and was rushed to a hospital where he eventually died.
The corpse was deposited at the morgue for autopsy report.
The club management held and handed Ojukwu over to the police at Ago Division who detained him at the cell after interrogation.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that when the report came to the police that Ojukwu died eventually at the hospital, the matter was transferred to SCIID Panti, Yaba for further investigation.
Okoro however admitted that he stabbed him but it was not his intention to kill him.
He was charged before Ebute Meta Magistrates court for murder under the Criminal Code.
His plea was not taken, rather the presiding Magistrate, Mrs O.A. Fowowe-Erusiafe ordered him to be remanded in prison.
The court also ordered that his file should duplicated and sent to DPP for advice.

Professor Itse Sagay left some Nigerians in slight shock when he revealed that every senator in Nigeria collects N29 million as monthly salary and N3 billion per annum.
According to the Nation, The Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption disclosed this when he spoke at the Nigerian Society of International Law (NSIL) Public Lecture titled

The long nails belong to Ayanna Williams, a nail artist from Houston, Texas. Her nails, each of which is just under two foot long, have earned her a place in the Guinness World Records 2018 Edition.
Having spent most of her adult life growing her nails, more than 23 years, she was first inspired by a friend and plans to continue growing them.
She has also revealed that the most challenging thing about having extremely long fingernails, which can take up to one week to paint, is pulling up her trousers.
While she's constantly getting lots of attention for her nails, and knows she is rather unique, her friends and family think it's quite normal.
In order to take care of her nails, Ayanna uses anti-bacterial soap and a nail brush to clean them daily.

Virgin boss Richard Branson has survived Hurricane Irma after choosing to stay on his private island.
The billionaire refused to leave his retreat on Necker Island despite the threat of the incoming storm packing winds of 185mph.
He said he would be bunkering down with his team in a concrete wine cellar.
Now his son Sam Branson has confirmed no one was hurt on Necker.
Posting on Instagram he said: "Glad to say that all humans on Necker are ok although a lot of buildings destroyed."
Sam went on to say that his thoughts are with other Caribbean islands who have not fared as well.
"Very concerned for our friends and everyone on the neighbouring islands and people in its path," he added.
"Please don't take this hurricane lightly if it is heading your way.
"If your building is not very solid, do find somewhere safe! Homes can be rebuilt but lives can't."
Earlier, Richard Branson described his preparations for Irma.

Doctors Remove 8cm Glass Cup Inside Man Who Refused To Tell How It Got There
The patient only revealed his painful predicament after suffering with the blockage for two days, doctors in China said.
And even then he would not confess as to how or why the glass came to be lodged in his back passage.
The Shanghaiist in China reports doctors were able to finally remove the glass cup stuck up without it shattering.
The recent case in Guangzhou apparently involved a married man who came in complaining of unbearable pain.
The patient was screaming for help when he was brought in at 2am.
He was sent for X-ray and the cause of his discomfort immediately became apparent.
Medics feared the glass cup was under so much pressure from the man's rectum muscles that there was a real danger it would break causing a serious and potentially deadly injury.
It was said to be eight centimetres tall and seven centimetres in diameter.
According to a local news report, doctors at first tried to take out the object the same way that it came in.
Using drugs to relax the man's anus, they were able to reach the cup, but found it too slippery to pull out.
Worried that the glass might shatter at any moment, the decision was then taken to carry out surgery and the cup was successfully removed.

Nigerian Who Attempted To Jump Into Lagoon In Suicide Bid Charged
Olojo was brought before Magistrate O.O.A. Fowowe-Erusiafe on a charge of attempted suicide.
He, however, pleaded ‘not guilty’ to the charge.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Kehinde Olatunde, told the court that Olojo committed the offence on August 27 at about noon on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos.
Olatunde said the accused was apprehended while attempting to jump into the lagoon and was quickly restrained.
He said the offence contravened Section 235 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Fowowe-Erusiafe, however, advised the accused that suicide was not the way out and that he should look at the brighter side of life.
The magistrate admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case till November 16 for mention.
