Nigerian Gospel artiste, Tim Godfrey has put a smile on faces of his crew members, as it was gathered that he bought 5 cars for his crew members.

Singer Nikki Laoye, who took to Instagram to share photos, wrote;

Woman dies suddenly during their honeymoon

                        

A groom has been left heartbroken after his new wife died suddenly during their honeymoon in Fiji.

Kelly Clarke, 24, fell ill on Wednesday but dismissed it as a stomach bug and went to bed to sleep it off.

When she rapidly declined the next day she was rushed to hospital.

After initially being diagnosed with typhoid fever, Kelly went into septic shock and died in hospital on Friday night while waiting for a medevac team to arrive.

Her heartbroken husband Chase says he was able to speak to her one last time before she died.

He was at the couple’s hotel collecting their belongings when doctors placed her in an induced coma.

“I spoke to her and she told me she was scared she was going to die,” Chase told Nine News .

“I just told her I love her, ‘we’re going to get out of here, everything’s going to be ok’.

“She’d gone into septic shock, she was panting heavily, she could barely speak to me.”

Chase said the family have been told Kelly, a post-operative nurse at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, died from severe bilateral pneumonia.

Experts suspect Kelly, who had contracted the chronic immune disorder lupus earlier this year, would most likely have been treated with steroids which damages the immune system further and increases the risk of infection.

Infectious diseases expert at Sydney University Robert Booy said: “Lupus can weaken the lungs directly, so they may have already been damaged, increasing the risk of pneumonia and infections.”

Chase and Kelly, from New South Wales, Australia, married in April this year and were planning their honeymoon for later in the year.

Usher Accuser Earlier Told A Friend They Had Protected S3x... But Changes Story In Lawsuit

Usher's herpes accuser in Georgia, Laura Helm, insisted she ONLY had protected sex with him -- even though she claimed otherwise in her $20 million lawsuit ... but she had a good reason for lying, according to her attorney.

TMZ obtained a recording of Helm on the phone telling a male friend she had no plans to sue Usher after finding out he allegedly has herpes. She said Usher had always worn a condom when they had sex ... so she wasn't concerned about being exposed to the virus. As she put it ... "That's why they make protection, for people who have STDs."

The conversation went down July 19 ... just 2 days before Helm filed the lawsuit and changed her story. In the docs she said Usher did NOT use a condom when they had sex in New Orleans. The two different stories seem to create a huge credibility problem for Helm.


However, her attorney Lisa West says Helm only lied because she thought her publicist, Dennis Byron -- the guy on the phone -- was trying to shop a story to the media about Usher having an affair.

West says Helm "didn't want to be exploited and, in her attempt to deter Byron from doing so, she told him (inaccurately) that she never had protected sex with Usher and that she did not have herpes." West adds she's gone to law enforcement because Helm thinks Byron was extorting her.

Note:  Helm also accused Byron of stalking her, but on Friday a judge dismissed the matter for lack of evidence.

Man nabbed while trying to plant marijuana in someone’s car in Port-Harcourt (Photos)

                                         

An unidentified young man, was nabbed while trying to plant marijuana in someone’s car in Elelenwo road, Port Harcourt. According to the victim, Victor Odili, the incident happened after he parked his car in front of a school in the area to talk to a friend.

Here’s what he wrote;

“Friends please I have an advice for each and everyone of us,,,my experience today at elelenwo road ,,,whenever you park your car and you are not inside make sure you look the doors properly,,,,, today I parked my car in front of the boys school ,,,to talk with a friend suddenly I saw somebody who was trying to force the doors open ,,,when we got hold of him he was holding a big rap of marijuana,,(Igbo) that he wanted to put inside my car but God disappointed him,,,,,,,I thank God for his mercy upon me today. It can happen to anybody friends please be security conscious.”

Tagbo Umeike's Autopsy Report - Alcohol and Drugs found in his system

                
According to CBS Lagos, a Medical Examiner’s Office autopsy revealed that Alcohol was a substantial factor in the 35-year-old’s Tagboautopsy report. 
He was also found to have alcohol and drugs in his system capable of better easing him into the early stages of hypothermia, later leading to his death.

Toxicology tests detected alcohol(Bacardi 151, 75.5% Alcohol) and topiramate, a medication for epilepsy and/or migraines in a man’s system, in Tagbo Umeike’. His blood-alcohol concentration (BAC) was at 0.112, higher than the 0.08 legal limit for normal human being state, the coroner’s office stated.

Tagbo Umeike’ didn’t have a prescription for any type of topiramate medication, according to his family. The coroner’s office claims the amount of drug in Tagbos’ system was in the “therapeutic range.”, Gistb4u.com according to Tagbo autopsy report “Alcohol and topiramate are synergistic. When combined, the effect of either or both drugs is enhanced. Topiramate, like alcohol, can cause dizziness, impaired memory, impaired concentration, poor coordination, confusion and impaired judgment,” a news release said. “Central nervous system depression, or impairment, combined with cold exposure can hasten the onset of hypothermia and death.” The circumstances Tagbo Umeikes’ death sparked controversy Throught the Internet and The Physical World. Now they don’t want to tell us how he got to the hospital. That is the question. How did he get to the hospital? Because the police met his car and his body in the hospital with no one” – the eyewitness added.

Kidnapping suspect Chukwudubem Onwuamadike, alias Evans, plotted to escape from police custody before his arraignment in court, it was learnt at the weekend.

But police detectives, especially those in the Intelligence Unit, aborted his plot, TheNation reports.

The Nigerian Prison Service (NPS) has formed a heavy security ring around the suspect.

After months of hide and seek, the police arrested ‘Evans’ on June 10 at No. 3, Fred Shoboyede, Magodo, Lagos. He is standing trial before an Ikeja High Court for alleged conspiracy and kidnapping alongside five others.

The other accused persons are Uche Amadi, Ogechi Uchechukwu, Okwuchukwu Nwachukwu, Chilaka Ifeanyi and Victor Aduba.

All the suspects were on August 29 remanded in Kirikiri Maximum Security Prisons.

Unknown to many Nigerians, the kidnapping kingpin had allegedly tried to escape from his cell in Abuja after he was transferred from Lagos.

A source spoke of Evans’ plan to give between $50,000  and $100,000 to one of the guards manning his cell to facilitate his escape.

The source said Evans was allegedly coordinating his escape bid with some members of his gang by telephone which he obtained through “suspicious” means.

It was learnt that intelligence officers and IGP’s Special Tactical Squad detected his plot.

The source said: “When Evans was in our custody, he tried to escape but we were able to abort all his plans. We discovered that he had access to phones which were hidden in the middle of loaves of bread, eba, semovita and so on.

“He was making calls from these smuggled phones in the middle of the night, making arrangements with some yet to be identified members of his gang to arrange for his escape.

“We intercepted how he was luring one of the guards with about  $50,000 to $100,000. He wanted an insider to serve as informant to him and members of his gang.”

The last may not have been heard of the death of Tagbo Umeike. Tagbo DIED on his birthday. On the 2nd of October, 2017, according to Asa Asika, who is Davido’s manager and owner of Shisha lounge, Tagbo came to the bar.

According to friends of Tagbo, he went to Shisha Lounge to meet up with Davido and the rest of the crew who arrived some time later. Available is the footage of Tagbo partying with Davido, Dammy Krane, Elejo and others. It was Tagbo’s birthday on the 3rd of October 2017.

After a round of drinks, the group decided to go with Davido to Oniru beach where an event was happening. There is CCTV footage of the group at the car park of the Shisha lounge around 12:18am. Tagbo could be seen staggering and to be amongst those leaving with Davido.

At some point in the car park, Davido and some other men were attempting to get Tagbo into Davido’s vehicle, Tagbo seemed to be resisting. According to Asa Asika, two men took Tagbo to his car (Tagbo’s own car) – there is however, no evidence of this.

The footage shows two cars (a Mercedes Benz and a Lexus) allegedly belonging to Davido driving out of the car park at 12:29a.m. According to Staff at General Hospital, Broad Street, Lagos Island and hospital CCTV footage which has been recovered by the police, two men with face caps came into the hospital reception at about 5:40 a.m. to seek medical attention for someone they had in the car.

They were told to register the person. They were told to provide a means of identification for the person, which they went back to the vehicle to produce. The identification produced was that of Tagbo Umeike. During the period, a nurse went with the boys to the car to get Tagbo.

On getting to the vehicle where he was laid on the back seat, the nurse suspected he was already dead and called for a doctor who confirmed this. Following the declaration, the two men were obviously distraught. In a bid to get contact details from the men, they made excuses and disappeared.

It is unclear who Tagbo eventually left the lounge with. It is unclear who these men who dropped Tagbo at the hospital are.

 It is yet to be determined what happened between the hours of 12:28a.m when they left Shisha Lounge and 5:40a.m on the 3rd of October, 2017 when they brought him in his car to the hospital.
The IGP and the Lagos State Commissioner of Police are fully involved in the case. Davido and some other men including Asa have been interrogated by the Police. An autopsy has been scheduled for the 9th of October, 2017 while investigations are still on-going but the question remains: What happened to Tagbo Umeike? Ado Poly Students Burn Down Health Centre Over Students Death As Authorities Shut Down School

The Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti was today shut indefinitely following a violent protest by students over the death of two of them.

Trouble began on the institution’s campus late Friday when two of the students reportedly complained of malaria.

They were said to have been rushed to the Polytechnic Health Centre for treatment, but their condition later became worse. They died in the early hours of Saturday.

The Registrar of the institution, Mrs. Sade Adediran, announced the immediate and indefinite closure of the school.


Adediran did not, however, confirm whether any student actually died at the Polytechnic Health Centre.

The statement warned that any student found on campus after the closure would be apprehended and made to face the consequences.

It was gathered from campus sources that the students on learning that their colleagues had died, quickly mobilised themselves, marched to the Health Centre and burnt it down.

Apart from also destroying some other property, the students blocked all roads leading to the institution preventing free movement of vehicles.

One of the students, who asked not to be mentioned, condemned the attitude of the polytechnic authorities over their welfare and well-being.

He alleged that the only drug available at the health centre was paracetamol.

According to him, paracetamol was also given the two students who were taken to the centre, instead of being given effective malaria drugs or injection.

The untimely death of a young man, Tagbo Umeike, early in the week has continued to generate ripples through the Internet and the physical world.

Tagbo, who was popstar, Davido’s friend, is alleged to have died after drinking several shots of tequila during a night out with friends in Lagos.

In the wake of several conflicting reports on the incident, Sunday Scoop spoke exclusively with Tagbo’s immediate elder sister, Equi Arakada, who is based in the United Kingdom. She was badly shaken and it was clear to see that the sad incident was causing her great grief. “I am a year older than he was, and October 3 was supposed to be his 35th birthday. They’re trying to portray him as a drunk or useless person, and that’s not true. There’s more to social media than what we see on the screen. He was not married and he didn’t have any kids. He was an engineer but he was trying to diversify into the music business. Not as a musician, but maybe as a record label owner,” she said.


Continuing, she said, “He could upload some pictures of himself hanging out with his friends, but that does not mean that he doesn’t have anything else he does with his life. He was a very caring and outgoing person, and he had a great future ahead of him. I would definitely not wish what we, his loved ones, are going through right now on anybody. Nobody deserves to die the way he did; abandoned at a time he needed help the most. Nobody deserves the nonchalance that the parties involved are displaying. It’s really unfair. Our dad is late, and my mum is taking this one day at a time. Davido has not reached out to anyone in my family; not me, my mum, or Tagbo’s brother. I only knew about my brother’s friendship with Davido through social media; I had never met him. But they’ve been friends for some time now because I often see pictures of them together. I’m not really familiar with many of the artistes in Nigeria, but I know that on the night of the incident, Tagbo was with Davido and Dammy Krane. Right now, we’re trying to gather as much information as possible to aid the investigation. All we need is justice; we don’t need any financial gain from this sad incident. We would dig to the root of the matter and find out if it was the negligence of anybody that led to this, or there was any sort of tampering involved. The autopsy would be conducted on Monday; any contrary news is false.”

However, Davido and his team have refused to make any comment on the matter. When Sunday Scoop put a call through to Davido’s manager, Asa Asika, he said, “We don’t have any comment on this matter; there is nothing to say.”

Meanwhile, the police have also confirmed that the autopsy would be carried out on Monday

5 Feared Dead, Many Injured As Super Eagles Defeat Zambia Yesterday In Uyo

Five people were feared dead while scores sustained serious injuries on Saturday following a stampede at the entrance of Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.

The incident occurred while football enthusiasts tried to enter the stadium.

The fans, who were at the stadium to watch a match between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Chipolopo of Zambia  were allegedly beaten  by soldiers at the gates of the stadium with heavy sticks.

The stampede occurred as the crowd tried to avoid the soldiers’ sticks.


The bloodstains were around the gate of the stadium.

Policemen and personnel of the Federal Road Safety Corps were seen standing beside some unconscious fans.

A Punch correspondent, who lost N10,000 in the stampede, was also assaulted by one of the soldiers with a big stick.

Some of the fans who spoke with Punch correspondent and vowed never to go to the stadium again, said they escaped death by the whiskers.

A female fan, Aniema Ekong, said “I thank God that I’m alive. This is not the first time this kind of incident had occurred. In fact, in every major tournament, there is always a tale of woes to tell about security agents injuring or killing people.

Another fan who identified himself as Chukwudi, said his girlfriend was severely injured by the security personnel manning the gate.

 He said, “I don’t know why there is always trouble in this stadium.”

Ambulances were seen conveying injured persons to the hospital.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Elkana Bala, initially told Punch correspondent that he would find out what actually caused the stampede.

He later sent a text message to refute the claim that people died at the stadium.

“It is confirmed that nobody died. But some persons were injured while struggling to gain access into the stadium. The injured persons were taken to hospital for medical attention,” Bala said.

The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Charles Udoh, also said he would call his counterpart in the ministry of Health to find out what happene

Lady allegedly chops off neighbor’s tongue for rituals

;A lady identified as Ilerioluwa has been arrested at Ogudu, Lagos, for allegedly cutting off her neighbor, Suleman Babangida’s tongue.Incident reportedly happened last Thursday, October 5th around midnight. Ilerioluwa allegedly did it for rituals.The victim Babangida, while narrating how he was attacked, said:;

“It was around 11:30pm when I came back home. Then when I was about to go and urinate at the bathroom, all of a sudden I just saw this lady that I usually call Ilerioluwa, at my back inside the bathroom.I was like sister Ileri what’s happening, all of a sudden, she just choked my neck and I could not have the strength to scream out extremely. All I could see next was that my tongue had been cut down.”

“Right now I can’t even eat or take something. I am in pain. The tongue can’t be reattached any longer. I’m not in any relationship with Ileri.
I respected her a lot and took her like a sister. She has nothing to say about what she did to me. The case has been adjourned till the 16th of this month.” 

Ileri was later arrested and the tongue retrieved from her. According to Babangida, she is currently being detained at the Kirikiri prison, after appearing in court on Friday.

Unknown Gunmen Kidnap Kogi Magistrate

A magistrate with Kogi State judiciary, Sam Nwuchola, has been abducted by unknown gunmen. He was said to have been abducted along Itobe – Ajaokuta Road on Thursday.

A source in the state judiciary told journalists on Friday in Lokoja, the state capital, that the kidnappers had contacted the wife of the kidnapped magistrate and demanded N100m ransom.

According to an eyewitness, while abducting the magistrate, the kidnappers also shot at a man who sat beside him in the car. The bullet was said to have shattered the victim’s cheek bones while his left eye was grazed by the bullet. Reports said on Friday that the victim was still receiving treatment at a hospital in the state.


Punch correspondent gathered that pleas by Nwuchola’s wife that her husband be released had failed as the kidnappers refused to yield to her request, instead, they hung up on her.

When contacted, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ali Janga, said the police was still investigating the matter.

The Everton striker, who admitted being almost three times the drink-drive limit last month, is working there, as part of a 100-hour community service order he received, along with a two-year road ban.

The star is said to be desperate to convince wife Coleen he is turning his life around – after being caught with another woman while drunk in the car after a night out.

£150,000-a-week star Wayne Rooney was chauffeured to his shift, near his £6million home in Prestbury, Cheshire.

At 8.40am, he walked in wearing a blue jacket, blue hoodie, matching blue bottoms and black Nike trainers. Once at the garden centre, Rooney, 31, put on a green zip-up fleece, worn by colleagues and spent all his time inside.

He has already completed two days of work – at least 12 hours.
