21-year-old lady allegedly commits suicide by drinking sniper after getting dumped by lover

In less than 24 hours after she returned from a weekend with her lover, a beautiful 21-year-old lady Miss Tawa Oshunuga, reportedly committed suicide by drinking sniper after her lover of four years dumped her via a phone call.

Eyewitnesses claimed that the late makeup artist got a call from her lover, and excused herself to pick the call. It was gathered that though nobody was sure of what went down during the phone conversation, however Oshunuga reportedly bought a Snipper, a local insecticide, drank it and died on Monday.

Just before her death, the deceased who was the first child of her mother, and the only female child, reportedly called her mother, who sells pepper at Alarape Market and begged her to come home. She told the woman that she was having excruciating stomach pains.

One of her friends, Tanwa Adekunle, who spoke to NewsTelegraph, described the death of Oshunuga as mystifying.

Her friend Jummy said: “It was in the process of trying to take her to hospital, they discovered a bottle of snipper beside her. It was then people realized that she poisoned herself. At the hospital, doctor referred her to Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja, where she was pronounced dead on arrival. That was how we lost our friend.”

It was after Tawa died that news filtered out, that she allegedly had a breakup with her boyfriend. Her mum who cried loudly, begging people around to wake her daughter up said she thought such crowd would come to her home on Tawa’s wedding day.

The incident had been reported at the Alade Police Station, Somolu, Lagos, after she was brought back from the hospital. She was buried at Atan cemetery

Meek Mill Cooks,Wash Dishes In Prison

                      

U.S rapper Meek Mill, worth $3million has reportedly been putting up a humble behaviour at Pennsylvania’s SCI Chester, where he is currently serving a 4-year jail term.

According to TMZ, Meek Mill has been washing dishes in the prison for 19 cents an hour.

‘Meek cleans the cell block, tidies up prison grounds and washes dishes,’ the insider said. ‘He also cooks food and serves it up, too.’And if he keeps up his good behavior he can get access to ‘electrical and carpentry shops’ as well as ‘therapy courses ‘ a source told TMZ.

The rapper’s imprisonment has reportedly set off a flurry of legal appeals, criticism of the criminal justice system, newspaper opinion pieces, rallies, billboards and bus ads.

Another Libya Returnee Recount His Ordeal

A 27-year old Libya deportee, Obehi Diamond, has described Libya as the best country where a young man can work and earn good money if there was a central government in the country.

Obehi said he lost all his earnings and savings in Libya because there was no way he could send money back to Nigeria.
He said he was tricked to Libya by a lady he gave N520,000 to take him to Europe in 2011 by flight but the woman abandoned him in Libya.

Speaking to The Nation  in Benin City, Obehi said he would not attend any training organised by the Edo State Government because he was already a professional.

He said the N20,000 monthly stipend Governor Godwin Obaseki promised to pay Libya deportees was not what many of them need but good tools to start life again.

His words,

 “I left Nigeria in 2012. I paid money for flight but the women betrayed me and took me through land to Libya. I paid her N520,000 in 2011. She kept on promising me that I will soon leave. She later asked me to go to Libya that there was somebody to receive me until I will leave for Europe. When I got to Libya, Richard told me I could not travel by air because there is on government in Libya.
“I started working in Libya and earning 1,500dinars every month but Richard was collecting 1000 dinars every month from the money. He kept collecting money from me for four months.
“I later told him that I cannot be working and he will be collecting the money. Richard told my boss to stop paying me. He told me to leave his house and I started sleeping in the street inside abandoned vehicles. I later met a boy who took me to his house in a mechanic workshop. I got a job somewhere and was earning 2000 dinars. From there I was sending money to my parents in Nigeria to take care off themselves. My friend found a job for me in Tripoli and I was working well.
“In 2014, I was going to take measurement for a job, policemen stop the vehicle I was in. I was the only black inside. After interrogation, they tore my papers. I spent eight months in four different prisons. I got a phone to call my friend and he told me to look for a policeman to bail me out. In Libya, there is no lawyer to bail you. A policeman helped me out and I paid him 120,000 dinars. I started working again in Tripoli till 2016 when fight started. I found another place to work in downtown due to fighting in Tripoli. After a month, I asked my boss to calculate the money and it was 4000 dinars. He wanted it pay me 600 dinars and I refused. I stopped the work because I am a professional. I could get work easily because people used to call me for work. The man pursued me and said I must work for him. He took thugs to pursue me and for my safety I decided to work for 600 dinars.

“When I was arrested in Tripoli, I spent 15 months in prison before I was deported. I was not planning to go to Europe. In Libya, there is work. Libya is the best country in aspect of money and work. There is no country to compare to Libya. The problem is the lack of government. Libya is the best place for a young man to work and survive. There is money in Libya if you are a good workman. There is future in Libya for those that are not lazy.
“Since 2015, there was no means to send money home. Libyans know that we blacks do keep money at home. When they caught me, they went to my house to collect my money. They took my property. I lost everything. They took huge money from me. If I had come home with that money, I would not have depend on government to help me, I will just open my shop immediately.
“If the state government help me to open my shop, I will not think of traveling again. The pattern of aluminum work in Libya is different so I had to learn from an Egyptian.
“There is nobody that go to Libya that does not have skills except the Benin boys. The Benin boys are lazy. I don’t play with my work when I was in Libya even on Fridays.
“The training from Obaseki is out of point. I don’t want to under go any training here in Edo. If I have my money, I will go to Lagos and start working immediately. I cannot collect N20,000 monthly from Obaseki. That is no money. That is what I work in Libya in two days. I don’t need any training. What I need is money to start off. My fiancée is still in prison in Libya. I am expecting her to be brought back soon.”

Man Arraigned in Lagos for Touching Police Woman B**bs

A 47-year old man Chijioke Okeiyi has been arrested for allegedly handling a police woman’s bre*sts at a police station in Lagos.

The incident happened at Isheri Oshun Division where Mr. Okeiyi was detained in the cell for fighting in the public with members of their house. 

He was charged for conduct likely to cause breach of public peace.

According to PM Express, Inspector Adesina Adefoluke was assaulted when she went to open the cell in order to rescue Mr. Okeiyi who was attacked by other suspects inside cell.

When Okeiyi came out, he found relief on Adefoluke’s bre*sts, grabbed it and in the process tore her uniform.

The arraignment turned into a mild drama at Ejigbo Magistrates court when the victim Adefolunke told the court that Mr. Okeiyi was under stress in the police cell and she went to bring him out.

However, when she opened the key to the cell, Okeiyi came out and landed his hands on her breasts for undisclosed reasons and she had to raise alarm.

In response, Okeiyi said he was attacked in the cell and was almost unconscious before his hand landed on her bre*sts and her uniform got torn. His explanation did not stop the police from arraigning him for the alleged offence.

He pleaded not guilty.

The presiding Magistrate, L.K.J Layeni granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum. He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.

Plateau PDP Chairman, Son, Abducted in Jos

The Police in Plateau state have comfirmed the abduction of the chairman, People’s Democratic Party PDP, Plateau state chapter, Damishi Sango.

A spokesman of the police command, Terna Tyopev, today in Jos said, some unknown gunmen kidnapped Mr. Sango along Jere-Abuja-Kaduna road. The state publicity secretary of the party, John Akans, also confirmed the incident.

Channels however says he was abducted alongside his son, a chieftain of the PDP, Mr Emmanuel Mangnin, the driver and one other person.

Moses Motoni, an official of a civic organisation, BudgIT, has narrated how his legs were chained and his hands handcuffed to a seat by some policemen who arrested him.

He stated that he was apprehended in Kaduna and brought to Abuja for holding a town hall meeting in Bida, Niger State, on budget tracking.

The victim, who was released by the police in Abuja on Wednesday, after uproar on the social media, said he saw hell in the hands of police personnel, who dehumanised and treated him like a criminal.

Speaking to journalists on his experience, Motoni explained that he was not informed about his crime, adding that the policemen simply said he was arrested for “inciting the populace and trying to impeach the Emir of Bida.”

Motoni’s troubles began when he visited Niger State last Saturday to sensitise residents of the Niger South Senatorial District to the zonal intervention projects awarded to their constituency in the 2017 budget.

The projects were the installation of transformers and electrification of Nowanya-Tawadzuru, Tiffin-Emitswachi-Tawadzuru and Tako communities in the Gbako Local Government Area, Niger South Senatorial District, Niger State as stated in the 2017 Appropriation Act.

Moroni was arrested on Tuesday after he was tricked into visiting the DHL office at Markafi Market, Kaduna, to pick a parcel.

He was reportedly forced into vehicle and brought to Abuja by policemen who disguised as DHL personnel.

The BudgIT worker explained that he simply enlightened the people about the constituency projects and how to track the budget, noting that he was surprised by the allegations that he wanted to incite the public and impeach the traditional ruler in the area.

He said, “I was arrested in Kaduna and our journey from there to Abuja was hell for me because I was handcuffed on both legs and my elbows were handcuffed to a chair, which dislocated my joints. 

“I wasn’t sitting; I squatted from Kaduna to Abuja, which was a journey of about two and a half hours. It was when I got to Abuja that I was told about the reason for my arrest.”

Motoni denied that his engagement with the Bida community would lead to a breach of the peace, noting that the idea of budget tracking was to encourage the community members to engage their representatives at the National Assembly and ensure that the projects were implemented.

 “They (policemen) said they got a complaint that I was trying to incite the public, create a breach of trust and impeach the Emir. But this is not true; I went to the community to educate the people on how they can engage their representatives on the implementation of the projects,” he stated.

The civic worker said he was not cowed by his detention, noting that he would still visit Niger State to continue his advocacy.

The team lead, BudgIT, Oluseun Onigbinde, explained that the budget tracking project was meant to simplify the budget and create citizens awareness about the fiscal document so they could demand accountability from their representatives.

He condemned Motoni’s arrest, which he alleged was instigated by the NASS representatives from the area.

He explained that shortly after the town hall meeting, a senator had made a phone call to Motoni, inviting him to a meeting in his house, which he declined “because BudgIT tracking personnel were not allowed to meet with public officials privately.”

Onigbinde said, 

“After this, we believe the senator reached out to the Nigeria Police Force and accused Motoni of plotting to topple the Emir of Bida following which he was arrested, handcuffed and taken to SARS’ office in Abuja.”“We condemn this abuse of power by the police and we plan to take up the issue with President Muhammadu Buhari and the Senate President; we will also reach out to the United Nations and the United States on this issue,” he added.

The police could not be reached for comment as the mobile phone of the Force spokesman, Jimoh Moshood, rang out.

He had also yet to reply to a text message sent to his phone as of the time of filing this report. (Punch)

The Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, has admonished his colleagues in the Muhammadu Buhari administration to stop blaming former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Mr. Amaechi said it is time for administration officials to concentrate on delivering good policies to the citizens rather than dragging the former president for Nigeria’s woes.

“I agree with those who said we should stop criticising the last government and that we should do our own,” The Nation newspaper quoted Amaechi as saying during a meeting at his office on Tuesday.

Porn Star 23, Found Dead

Adult film actress August Ames was found dead on Tuesday, according to police in southern California.  The Ventura County Medical examiner confirmed the 23-year-old's death, but had yet to issue an official cause.

Those close to Ames, however, believe that she had taken her own life, telling online publication The Blast that she was prone to depression.

A recent online incident may have triggered the suspected suicide, sources close to the Ames said.

Ames recently suffered a torrent of online abuse after posting on Twitter that she would not be doing a scene with a male performer who had previously done gay porn.


On December 3, Ames posted a message reading: 'whichever (lady) performer is replacing me tomorrow for @EroticaXNews, you're shooting with a guy who has shot gay porn, just to let cha know. BS is all I can say. Do agents really not care about who they're representing? #LAdirect I do my homework for my body.'

Camarillo police said that Ames was pronounced dead at the scene, noting there had been no indication of foul play.

Police did not give a specific location on where the 23-year-old had died.

'She was the kindest person I ever knew and she meant the world to me,' her heartbroken husband, Kevin Moore, told industry trade magazine Adult Video News. 'Please leave this as a private family matter in this difficult time,' he added.

Shortly after her death had been confirmed, an outpouring of condolence from friends and industry peers filled up Ames's Twitter page, many describing her as a kind person with a big heart.

'Rest In Peace to August Ames, one of the best, nicest people I ever knew in the business,' producer Jules Jordan wrote in a tweet.

Nigerian Government Seizes 55 Elephant Tusks

                           
The Nigerian government took a step in enforcing the global ban on illegal ivory trade as it seized dozens of elephant tusks illegally imported into the country.

Every year, hundreds of African elephants and rhinoceros are poached and killed for their tusks in the illegal multi-million dollar trade, with most shipped to Asian and Western countries, which endangers African elephants.

Last week, European and American conservation leaders called on governments worldwide to support African nations to put an end to the trade in elephant ivory.


Yesterday, the Nigeria Customs Service confirmed the seizure of about 55 calibre of elephant tusks along the Nigeria-Cameroon boarder.

Francis Adetoye, the Area Controller in charge of Adamawa and Taraba Commands, made the disclosure at a press briefing in Yola.

Mr. Adetoye said that the success was recorded following a joint anti-smuggling and drugs patrol in collaboration with sister agencies in the state.

Policeman Shoots Student At Checkpoint Over N1k

A policeman attached to the Igbuzo Police Division, identified simply as Sergeant Abua, is allegedly on the run after shooting a student at the Delta State Polytechnic, Sofia Ogogo, and a civil servant, Victor Emeagwai, at a checkpoint in the community.

The victims were in a Toyota Corolla, driven by an estate agent, Jerry Akinlabi, when the incident happened. Ogogo and Emeagwai are Akinlabi’s girlfriend and friend respectively.

Punch Metro learnt that a team of five policemen, including Abua, had flagged down Ogogo at a checkpoint along Igbuzo Market.

One of the policemen, identified as Nwokolo, was said to have demanded money from Akinlabi and the driver told him that he did not have N200 to give him.

Nwokolo reportedly said he would take one of the N1,000 notes Jerry had on him.

As Akinlabi drove off from the checkpoint, Abua reportedly shot at the car and bullets pierced the back of the vehicle, hitting Ogogo, who sat at the back seat.

The bullet also grazed the back of Emeagwai, who was at the passenger’s seat.

 Akinlabi told a Punch correspondent that four cops, including the team leader, one ASP Akhabue, were detained by the police, while Abua evaded arrest.

 He said, “On Sunday, November 17, 2017, I was driving to the Igbuzor Market and on getting to a checkpoint, I met the policemen. We knew one another some months ago when I had an issue concerning a property at the station. I sounded the horn to greet them, but they did not respond.

 “One of them used his gun to hit the boot and I reversed. He said I wanted to beat the checkpoint. I told him that I assumed that they knew me very well and apologised. He demanded money. I wanted to give him N100 or N200, but it was N1,000 notes I had on me and I explained to him.

“He said, ‘Am I too small to collect N1,000?’ When I declined to give him N1,000, he asked me to pull over, which I did. As the argument over N1,000 got heated, I entered my car and drove off. What I heard next was three gunshots aimed at my car.

“A bullet pierced into the car, hit my girlfriend’s body, came out and hit my friend in the back.”

The 22-year-old indigene of Oyo State said he took the victims to a general hospital in Igbuzo, from where Ogogo was referred to the Federal Medical Centre, Asaba.

He said he called a senior police officer at Asaba who notified the state Commissioner of Police of the incident.

He said, “The CP and the DPO of the Igbozo Police Station came to the FMC and deposited N100,000, but I have spent much more than that. Meanwhile, the policeman who shot at us had gone to drop the gun at the station and fled.  The other four policemen were detained at the command headquarters. My friend and I wrote our statements there.”

Akinlabi explained that a police officer asked him to drop his car key to aid investigation. He added that he handed over the car key, but activated the steering lock because he suspected foul play.

He said he met with the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 5, Benin, Edo State, who assigned a policeman to take his statement, adding that the policeman came down to the police command, Asaba, the following day.

 “As I was returning from Zone 5 on Monday, I received a call from the Investigating Police Officer at the police headquarters in Asaba and he asked for the steering key. The IPO and a policeman came down to the hospital and I told them I would have to look for the key when I got home.

“The policeman sent from Zone 5 invited my friend to the police headquarters in Asaba to write his statement too. When he got there, he saw some policemen moving the car. He called to ask me if I gave them the key to unlock the steering and I said no. When I called the IPO, he confirmed what my friend said and he told me that there was no cause for alarm.”

He said the command returned his car washed, with the bullet holes on the vehicle covered and painted, lamenting that he had not heard from the command and zone 5.

Akinlabi’s girlfriend, Ogogo, who spoke to Punch Metro from the hospital, said she was on the telephone when the bullet hit her.

“That was the last thing I remembered until I found myself at the hospital,” she added.

Emeagwai urged the police authorities not to sweep the case under the carpet, saying the policemen must be punished.

He said, “I don’t see any reason for the shooting. I have been going to the FMC to treat the gunshot injury for about three weeks now. The policemen should not go scot-free.”

Harrison Gwamnishu, the Coordinator of Behind Bars, a rights group, which Akinlabi contacted on the matter, said the group would institute a legal action against the police.

He said, “We want to charge the case to court as a civil matter. It is barbaric. Why did the police wash the bloodstains in the car and covered the bullet holes without the consent of the owner?”

The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Andrew Aniamaka, said the policemen would be brought to book if found culpable after investigation.

He said, “The case is being investigated. However, our utmost concern is that the injured victim gets proper treatment. The Area Commander and the DPO of the division in question are involved in the matter.

“The case is being investigated by Zone 5. Where somebody is absent from duty for 21 days without any reason, we declare such a person a deserter. So, there is no anxiety that the policeman is on the run. Rest assured that the right thing will be done.”

Judge Arrested For Alleged Demand Of N200m Bribe

The Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission has commenced a probe into the 24,325 government properties that were sold to government officials under the monetisation policy of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Also, the anti-graft agency has arrested a retired Appeal Court judge, Justice Mohammed Tsamiya, for allegedly demanding a N200m bribe in exchange for a favourable judgment in a National Assembly election case that was pending before the Imo State Judicial Division of the Court of Appeal.

The ICPC said in a statement by its spokesperson, Mrs. Rasheedat Okoduwa, that many, who bought government properties, had yet to make full payment while some others were secretly renting the properties to private citizens.


The anti-graft agency said most of the culprits were in the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation and the Federal Housing Authority.

The statement read in part, “In recent times, the ICPC has been inundated with petitions from patriotic Nigerians, drawing the attention of the commission to allegations of widespread abuse of the policy by beneficiaries and some government workers.

“The commission, while acting on the petitions, discovered through preliminary investigation that a number of civil servants in the OHCSF, who benefited from the policy had not paid for the houses since 2005. While some had completely defaulted, others owe the government a sizeable amount of the money.

“The investigation further revealed that 32,305 houses were captured by the committee on the sale of government properties while 24,345 were eventually sold to beneficiaries.

“However, civil servants in some government agencies, notably OHSCF and the Federal Housing Authority, have allegedly turned the policy into a shoddy business with the aim of defrauding the Federal Government.”

The ICPC said it also found out that some public servants and government agencies were concealing government properties and collecting rent on same without the consent of the Federal Government. This, the agency noted, flouted the intent of the policy that primarily focuses on divesting government’s interest from providing housing for its employees.

The commission said an employee of the OHSCF allocated some of the houses to undeserving beneficiaries who were not public servants at the time of the exercise and some of the properties had yet to be allocated.

It added, “The investigation has so far yielded fruitful result with the recovery of N18, 031,000 from some civil servants and a host of companies including Montgomery & Campbell Ltd. and SICCONS, which has been paid into the coffers of the government.”

The ICPC vowed that anyone found to have contravened the law would be prosecuted upon conclusion of the investigation.

Meanwhile, the commission says it has arrested a retired Justice of the Court of Appeal, Justice Mohammed Tsamiya, for allegedly demanding N200m bribe from one Mr. Nnamdi Orji, in exchange for a favourable judgment in a National Assembly election case that was pending before the Imo State Judicial Division of the Court of Appeal.

The ICPC said the offence, which violates Section 10 of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000, was alleged to have been committed in 2015, when the retired Justice asked Orji, who was the candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance for the Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, to give him N200m to enable him to influence the court’s decision in his favour.

Orji had approached the Court of Appeal, Imo State Division, to seek redress in a case involving an alleged inflation of the result of election in the Arochukwu Local Government Area of Abia State, which he had earlier lost to his opponent, Mr. Nkole Ndukwe, at the National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal.

The retired judge was alleged to have assured the appellant of getting a favourable judgment from the court upon the payment of the money.

“Justice Tsamiya has since been granted bail by the commission upon the fulfilment of his bail conditions even as investigation continues,” the ICPC added.

5th September 2017 was the day his fleshly remains was committed to mother earth .
5th December 2017 was the day it cumulated three months of my mourning him , for the purposes of observing rites of culture / tradition .
Raymond Joshua Chimaobi Chimnonso Ekwu , your mummy is absolutely distraught without you still . Our home is so silent now without you . Every time I still peep into your room to see if you’re there . When I drive back home , I long to see your smiling face radiating that joy of seeing me back . Cooking has lost it’s joy , because you’re not there to ask all those questions : mummy what are you cooking now ? What’s that ? Why do you put that ? Mummy please can I stir the contents of what you’re cooking ? Can I get a piece of meat ? No more will I hear you say : mummy my sleep mode is not activated yet , when I say : Chimnonso go to sleep right now ! No one to ask me : mummy how come am getting pimples on my face and you don’t have ? And I have to answer : Joshua , you’re in your puberty years and becoming a young man ? Aaaaah my son , my baby , the most considerate child , my six feet four inches ( 6ft , 4 inches tall ) adorable giant , I miss you oooooooo .

Serena Williams Gets Emotional About Breastfeeding

Serena Williams welcomed her first child just three months ago, and she's already dreading the day she'll have to stop breastfeeding her beloved daughter.

The tennis champion, 36, took to Twitter today to reach out to other mothers and inquire about their own experiences with nursing.

'Fellow moms: How long did you breastfeed?' Serena wrote. 'Is it weird that I get emotional when I even just think about when it's time to stop?'

Along with her tweet, she posted a sweet photo of herself with her firstborn, Alexis Olympia Ohanian.

The baby girl, who is named after her father, 34-year-old Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, can be seen looking just below the camera, enjoying a peaceful moment in her mother's arms (left photo above).

Meanwhile, Serena looks at her daughter with a loving smile, enjoying a few rays of sunlight with her baby girl.

Her message has garnered more than 4,000 likes, as well as words of advice from other parents.
