Burna Boy Reportedly Slammed With Court Injunction In New York
The injunction prevents him from performing at any event venue or any form of recording any where in USA & CANADA for the time being unless settle with the New York based promotion company Vibesland Entertainment, LLC founded by Promoter/Producer Niyi Fatogun.
Damini Ogulu, better known by his stage name Burna Boy, is a Nigerian reggae-dancehall singer and songwriter. Burna Boy is an independent artist signed under the Burna Boy Ltd and released his OAS LP under Spaceship Entertainment label that presently holds the copyright to all his music. He was sued in the Federal Court by Vibesland Entertainment, LLC on allegations that he signed a contract for 2016 USA & CANADA TOUR, failed to turn up, postposned the tour which put the promoter Vibesland Entertainment, LLC in serious debt in USA.
Vibesland Entertainment, LLC was said to have invested up to $25,000 US Dollars in preparation and facilitating burna boy postponed USA & CANADA. The issue started after the promoter Vibesland Entertainment, LLC obtained USA Work Permit approval visa for Burna Boy, then Burna Boy failed to honor the contractual agreement.
In addition, Burna boy's management invited the promoter to London from New York in order to try to facilitate the tour and discuss in person, the promoter traveled to London at the promoter's expense to meet up with Burna Boy's management all to no avail. Burna Boy tour was postponed by his management, regardless of all the efforts made by the promoter. Due to (failure to show up as planned and fulfilling his contractual agreement), and postponed tour, promoter's reputation was badly damaged to the extent of being publicly embarrassed/humiliated on social media by other fellow promoters.
Our source learnt that the promoter tried all efforts to communicate via email, text, and phone calls Burna Boy's Management for 5 months consecutively, Burna Boy's Management deliberately ignored the promoter, refused to answer or return his calls and emails. All efforts in trying to get this issue resolved amicably were to no avail.
Burna Boy's Managment claims were the Promoter didn't pay the deposit as stated in the contract between VIBESLAND ENTERTAINMENT, LLC & BURNA BOY LTD. Promoter who's the official tour agent for the 2016 Burna Boy USA & CANADA Tour travelled to London, England with a cheque of $75,000.00 to meet Burna Boy's Managment for deposit of 10 cities. The promoter said when he got to London, United Kingdom, Burna Boy's Managment brought up discussion of a third party company (AEG) which wasn't part of the initial contract signed on June 29th, 2016. VIBESLAND ENTERTAINMENT, LLC believed it was very risky to pay $75,000 dollars deposit to Burna Boy's Managment that's already declared they signed a contract with a third party for the same USA tour. At that point the promoter refused to release the payment (cheque) until everything is straightforward to avoid losing $75,000. As at the time of this press release. Promoter stated, "Why would I give a cheque deposit for 10 cities worth $75,000 to BURNA BOY LTD when I was told that a third party company (AEG) already took five (5) major cities out of 10 cities agreed in the contract.
Promoter Niyi Fatogun hired professional entertainment lawyer Takena Barango to represent VIBESLAND ENTERTAINMENT, LLC on Wednesday MAY 17th, 2017 at the Supreme Court in New York, The Judge ordered a court Injunction on BURNA BOY OUTSIDE US TOUR, until BURNA BOY LTD settle promoter for the financial loss VIBESLAND ENTERTAINMENT, LLC suffered due to breach of contract by BURNA BOY.
Witnesses comments that Burna Boy's Management failed to properly handle this matter, they disregard the contractual agreement with the promoter Vibesland Entertainment, LLC and showed no respect in responding to all his requests. How could you ignore someone's phone calls and email for 5 months consecutively one witness said. This is America where entertainment law is very effective, a contract is a biding agreement, you can't sign a contract and deliberately breach the contract. That sort of anomalies occurs frequently in Africa but not over here in United States....another witness explained.

11 To Appear In Court For Gang Rape Of Pregnant Woman
With gruesome crimes perpetrated against women across South Africa in the public spotlight, a 22-year-old pregnant woman has been brutally gang-raped in Joburg's inner city, while three Soweto women were murdered after apparently being raped.
The crimes took place during the past few days.
The pregnant woman was kidnapped and gang-raped while on her way home from work at a nightclub early on Monday.
The woman’s male colleague told The Star they finished work at 4am and were attacked on Lilian Ngoyi (formerly Bree) Street.
Their names have been withheld to protect the woman's identity.
“We were walking on Bree Street when one guy grabbed her,” the co-worker said. “I told him to stop what he was doing and we ended up in a fight."
"From there, all I saw were a bunch of armed men surrounding me. They started hitting me, until I ran to get help from a woman who sells newspapers around the corner,” said the 23-year-old bartender.
Some of the assailants proceeded to assault him, while the others stripped his female colleague.
The woman was then dragged into a dilapidated block of flats nicknamed Mnyama Ndawo, meaning "dark place", he said.
“When the police arrived, we heard screaming from the building, which has no electricity. When we found her, there were men standing in a queue waiting to have sex with her,” said the traumatised man.
Police spokesperson Captain Xoli Mbele said 11 suspects were arrested and were expected to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on charges of kidnapping and rape. The woman is in Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Hospital, where she is receiving counselling.

She picked it up and opened the purse and saw that there was money and ATM cards inside the purse. She discovered that the ATM is for First City Monument Bank( FCMB). She took the purse back immediately to the branch of the Bank which is at Akarigbo Road after First Bank Plc Sagamu.
When she got there, she told them what happened and requested that they should help her to trace the owner of the purse and should please call her so that she can hand over the purse over to the owner in person. The management did as she requested and called the owner to come over to the banking hall. The owner of the purse, Mrs Awofeso was shocked to hear what happened, she checked her money and confirmed that Eighteen thousand Naira inside the purse was intact and all her documents were intact.
This prompted the FCMB Branch Manager,Mr Omotara to write a letter of commendation on behalf of the Bank and brought it to her school on May 17th,2017. When the Principal of the School was contacted, Mr Oyenuga David, to ask him about who the student is in school, he said that, she is an indigent student and highly responsible. Mrs Yetunde Sodiya Isikalu the Vice Principal Academics stated that , Samson Omolabake is always neat and she has never be reported for any misbehavior acts. Her Class Teacher, Mrs Ajilore said she is a responsible girl and ever ready to learn.

Seun Egbegbe hits 100 days in prisons,reportedly abandoned by friends
The lanky showbiz promoter continues to wane in the general cell of Ikoyi prisons where he has taken residence. Family and friends of Egbegbe have not been able to secure his bail.
According to a source close to Egbegbe, friends and benefactors have abandoned him, leaving him to bear his cross alone;
“Now, the frequency of people visiting him in the prison has reduced drastically. All his friends and followers have deserted him.
They are afraid of being implicated. It is only his heavily pregnant girlfriend, Nikky Berry and his parents that visit him now.
They still prepare his food from home. Most of his girlfriends and those he supports financially have deserted him. Nikky is the only girl left with him now” the source said.
In addition, no one wants to stand as surety for Egbegbe due to the strict nature of the bail conditions.
According to the source:
”Things are not as expected at all. He earlier thought it was a child’s play. It’s now he understands better the kind of situation he is in. I learnt that his family has since been running from pillar to post to get him out of detention, but their efforts are yet to yield the desired results as nobody is ready to stand as surety for him because of the stringent conditions attached.”
Recall that Seun Egbege was arrested for allegedly defrauding some Bureau De Change operatives of over N40 million, between 2016 and February 2017.
He has been granted bail since February of N5 million with two sureties each in a sum of N2.5 million.
Justice Oguntoyinbo of the Federal High Court in Lagos ruled that Mr. Egbegbe be granted bail once he meets his bail requirements.
Chocolate City boss, Audu Maikori sues El-Rufai for N10billion
In a suit (FHC/ABJ/CS/385/17) filed by his lawyers, Ballason’s Chambers at the Federal High Court, Abuja, Maikori is seeking damages to the tune of N10billion.
According to details of the suit, which came up for hearing before the trial judge, Hon. Justice John Tsoho on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, Maikori is praying the court to enforce his fundamental rights against undue harassment and intimidation by the Kaduna State government, the State Governor and the Nigeria Police.
Recall that Maikori was arrested by the Nigeria Police on charges of incitement, based on a petition by the Kaduna State Government.
He was eventually released on bail and cleared of any complicity by the Police Force Headquarters.
He was, however, re-arrested and whisked to Kaduna, after Governor El-Rufai publicly vowed to prosecute him during the Social Media Week 2017.
Maikori was detained for four days, before he was charged to a Kaduna State Magistrate Court.
He was eventually released on bail on medical grounds

Victor Akagha, from Owerri, Imo State living at 20, Mustapha Kosoko Street, Ijesha, Surulere, was ambushed at the victim’s school, where he came to pick him with his car.
Akagha, a betnaija agent with several shops in Lagos had slept with three other teenagers before he was arrested by the operatives on 9th of May, 2017.
The suspect disclosed to investigators that he engaged his previous teenage lovers through facebook, adding that after meeting, he took them to eateries where he treated them specially to all sorts of meals.
Akagba disclosed that he had been spending fortunes on his teenage lovers in order to make them feel comfortable and accede to his requests whenever he needed them.
He added that he bought new phones for them whenever he met any partner online. He explained that he bought a phone for his new partner, one Ikechi, 15, a secondary school pupil in Surulere, Lagos.
Ikechi told investigator that the suspect was to sleep with him when he was arrested. The suspect has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba for further investigation.
TB Joshua Donates N6m To Libyan Deportees
According to a post shared on the church's official Facebook page, TB Joshua gave the deportees a total of N6 million and bags of rice, alongside his popular 'morning water'.
According to reports, the prophet gave instructions for the money to be released to the deportees, even though he's outside the country. Sharing the post on their official Facebook page, they wrote:
"On Wednesday 17 May 2017, 200 Nigerians who were deported from Libya rushed to The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) in search of refuge. When Prophet T.B. Joshua, who is currently in Ecuador for the opening of the new school donated by Emmanuel TV, heard of their arrival, he said that they should be attended to the same way as the deportees of the previous week. They were given a cash gift totaling ₦6 Million alongside two bags of rice and Morning Water to start their lives afresh. Glory be to Jesus Christ!

The 42-year-old recently welcomed a baby girl two months ago in Canada, and have reportedly died of a heart attack today.
Her death was confirmed by the founder of Best of Nollywood Awards, Seun Oloketuyi via IG.

Ex-Bayelsa PDP Chairman Assassinated
He was reportedly assassinated in his residence on the PDP Road, Yenagoa, the state capital.
Hobobo, who hailed from Agbere town in Sagbama Local Government Area of the state, was allegedly stabbed to death by unknown assassins in the early hours of Wednesday.
The assassination of Hobobo is coming within one month after a similar assassination of a Yenagoa-based broadcast journalist, Mr. Famous Giobaro.
Hobobo’s gate was forced open by the assailants before gaining access to his sitting room, where they allegedly stabbed him several times in the chest.
It was learnt that his killers refrained from using the gun to kill the former acting Chairman of the PDP in order not to attract the attention of his neighbours.
It was also learnt that after the incident, family relations and friends, who thronged the house as early as 7am invited police.
A team of policemen led by the Divisional Police Officer, Ekeki Division, was said to have removed the deceased’s corpse amidst wailing from sympathisers and neighbours.
Two family members, Mr. Desi Tambrebofa and Mr. John Gidi, expressed shock over the manner Hobobo was brutally murdered.
They described the deceased as an easygoing man, saying that the assassins had murdered sleep.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Amba Asuquo, who had visited the scene of the crime, assured the family members that the police would fish out the perpetrators of the crime.
The remains of the deceased have been deposited at the morgue of the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa.
