Court Orders Permanent Forfeiture Of Diezani’s $37.5m Mansion To FG
The court also ordered that the sums of sums of $2,740,197.96 and N84,537,840.70 realised as rents on the property should equally be forfeited to the Federal Government.
The orders were made today by Justice Chuka Obiozor, following a motion on notice argued before him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
Protesting Pensioners Are Public Nuisance, Says Osun Commissioner
The commissioner said this statement in reaction to last Thursday’s protest organised by the pensioners to press home the demand for the payment of their pension arrears and gratuities.
Baderinwa said the constant protest by the group of pensioners was a public disturbance, describing their conduct as misleading and unbecoming of senior citizens.
The state government explained that the N6.314bn second tranche of the Paris Club loan refund was used to pay the July and August 2015 salary arrears, balance of 2015 leave bonus and the July 2017 salaries and pensions which amounted to a total of N5, 131,680,567.59.
He added that this was done in line with the recommendation of the Hassan Sunmonu-led Revenue Allocation Committee.
Baderinwa also said that the state’s internally generated revenue was not up to N1.5bn, yet the pensioners, who he said had chosen to be a tool in the hands of the opposition, allegedly lied that the IGR and PAYE was N9.5bn.
He said the gratuities of pensioners in the state were over N9bn and the state could not afford that now.
The statement read, “It is crystal clear that the so-called 2011/2012 pensioners group are obvious liars with their incessant political protests, and unbecoming of a retired civil servant who ought to be placed and respected as a senior citizen.
“The 2011/2012 pensioners group are a fraction of those who retired from service in 2012 to avoid being part of the Contributory Pension Scheme.
“It is disturbing and unfortunate that the acclaimed 2011/2012 retires have chosen to be blackmailing the Osun State Government and persistently constituting nuisance on the streets of Osogbo to the detriment of the peace-loving citizens through sponsored protest on the payment of gratuity and not pension.”

An HIV/AIDS advocate, Ladybryd took to
instagram to celebrate 10 years of living with HIV after she was
infected by her ex-husband on their wedding night. According to her, her
ex-husband lied to her about his HIV status before they got married.

"10 years ago on this date was the first time I was exposed to his HIV. Before this date we had NEVER had unprotected sex. I was very adamant about it. Your wedding night is the time to consummate the marriage. Well my wedding night we did that but he also knowingly exposed me to his HIV. I trusted him with my life and he took my life into his own hands and chose to lie in the most explainable way! From that trip to the doctor when he said his HIV test was negative, to his mom telling me to ask him about HIV and he saying he didn't know what she was talking about just days before the wedding, to having unprotected sex with his WIFE on our wedding night, to the doctor telling me that I WAS HIV POSITIVE, to me finding out about other women and possibly men he was sleeping with, and ALL THE WAY UP TO SENTENCING he lied! when the judge said, "we have you on a recorded conversation admitting that you had HIV since 2002" the lies stopped! I was 24 years old on this day August 4, 2007 and on this day my body was introduced to HIV.

Amir Khan was filmed partying with an Instagram star in Dubai just days after splitting up with his wife in an explosive Twitter row.
The British boxer, 30, was cuddled up to Abu Dhabi-based beauty adviser Gulbahor Becknazar in the back of a taxi and dancing in a nightclub in a video which appeared on social media.

Badoo smashes woman’s head after church vigil
Suspected members of the Badoo cult disguised as worshippers on Saturday to attack the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, Okin Parish, Igbo Agbowa, Ibeshe, in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State.
PUNCH Metro learnt that a woman, who had attended a vigil in the church, was injured after her head was smashed with a stone.
It was gathered that three Badoo suspects had mingled with the congregation during the vigil, which ended around 3am on Saturday.
Shortly after the members slept off, the assailants reportedly struck, smashing the stone on the head of the woman whose name had yet to be ascertained.
Our correspondent was told that the victim raised the alarm, which woke up other church members and residents of the area.
A resident, who gave his name only as Joseph, said the crowd gave the suspects a chase and one of them was apprehended.
He added that the woman had been admitted to a hospital.
He said, “After his arrest, he told us that they were three that attended the vigil. They pretended to be members of the church. People were exhausted after the service and slept off inside the church. During that period, they attacked the woman. She was seriously injured in the head.An elder in the community, who spoke on condition of anonymity, urged the police to conduct adequate investigation on the suspect with a view to arresting other fleeing members and their sponsors.
“Two of them fled, but the third suspect was apprehended and taken to the Ipakodo Police Station. Some youths wanted to lynch him, but they were stopped.”

23-Yr-Old Beats Brother To Death In Ebonyi
David, aged 23, beat his younger brother, Onu, to death following a minor quarrel that had to do with an errand.
The incident took place at Ubia Amaetiti in Amoso Edda, Afikpo South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. It was gathered that their mother, Mary, had sent the deceased on an errand, but he refused to go.
The furious mother reported him to his elder brother, who then descended on him and inflicted bodily harm, which led to his death. A source said: “Last Friday, July 28, a boy called Onu was sent on an errand by his mother but he refused to go.
Eventually his elder brother, David, returned from a journey same day and his mother reported him to his elder brother. “His brother started beating Onu and he fell down. He was rushed to the hospital. The first hospital declined to handle him.
“They then rushed him to another hospital in Owutu Edda, where he was admitted. “The following day, being Saturday, the boy died. The family reported the matter to the Police Station, but the Police directed them to deposit his remains at the morgue.
“Strangely again, the mortuary department of the General Hospital in Owutu Edda rejected the corpse, saying they don’t have chemicals for preserving corpse.
They then took him home for burial, but the Police did not allow them bury him. They later took the body to another mortuary.”
Contacted on phone, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Jude Madu, said he would get back to Vanguard as soon as his office was furnished with details of the incident, but had not done so at press time.

Asibong stated this while delivering a keynote lecture at the 2017 Annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference of the Cross River State chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association where she said that the state is putting measures in place to return residents to medical facilities.
“Most times they prefer to labor for long and are taken to the hospital when they are on their last breath. Eventually when they die in the hospital, we are not allowed to prosecute because the leaders in question are pastors and they get away with it.”
“We are trying to break that culture by employing health advocacy centers and are also talking to the pastors who are ignorant, to let their patients be in the hospitals where they can always come and pray for them,” said Dr. Asibong.
Also, she pointed out that early detection of diseases and intervention was key to excellent clinical performance.
She said that: “Early intervention and prevention is better than cure as we live in a resource constrained setting. If we wait till the disease has progressed, we would have a problem treating that person.
“Take for instance cancer, we don’t have enough equipments in treating it but if cervical cancer is dictated early, it can be completely cured.
