Diddy, Photographer Settle Over Assault, But Not After A 5-Year Legal Battle

Diddy handled some legal business with a paparazzo who claims the rapper's bodyguards jumped him - but it took more than 5 years.

Diddy finally settled with photographer Gustavo Garces who was allegedly attacked on New Year's Eve 2011 after he snapped some pics of Diddy in his car at a downtown Miami hotel. The photog sued Diddy and his 2 security guys, claiming they held him and punched him while the rapper ordered them to take his camera.

The terms of the settlement are unknown, but this usually means the celeb coughed up some dough to make it go away. We are happy it's finally settled.#OurLoveForDiddyTho

Police arrest Lagos Baale, three others for killing, hiding body of policeman for 9-months

Baale
The Baale of Oshoroko Village in Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos State, Chief Olusegun Oyeri, alongside three others have been arrested by the Lagos State police command for allegedly masterminding the death of an inspector and hiding his body for nine months.
Inspector Musa Sunday of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) had disappeared mysteriously while responding to a distress call in the area, but his body was yesterday found at the Ibeju-Lekki waterfront.
Several months of police undercover investigations paid-off recently after an informant revealed that the community members swore to an oath of secrecy. After the tip-off, the informant took the police team to the waterfront where they dug up his decomposed body and his service rifle, an AK47.
When the body was found, the police immediately swung into action and arrested the Baale, alongside three others who were identified as Aroki Badiru, Nasiru Isiaka and Akeem Balogun.
Confirming the incident, the state police boss, Fatai Owoseni, said the deceased was declared missing on November 29, 2016.
“Inspector Musa Sunday disappeared from a crime scene in Ibeju-Lekki when he was, alongside other officers, deployed to that axis from Ibeju-Lekki Free Trade Zone. In the course of patrol, they were alerted by the community of a communal fight between two families over land issues.
“Dutifully, they joined the informant but on getting there, one of the community callously turned against the patrol team and at the end of the fight, the team returned without Sunday.
“The next day, I went there and met the traditional rulers and elders of the community to appeal to them to release the inspector if they have him in their custody. They denied seeing him.
“We put together a team of policemen with technical support from the Inspector General of Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) led by DSP Philips and they sustained investigations. Based on intelligence, nine months later, his decomposed body was found buried along the waterway with his service AK47.
“We swung into action and arrested the Baale of the community and three others. The law does not respect anyone and we use this to send a message to criminals pretending to be custodians of our culture.
“During investigation, we gathered that the Baale led the community in swearing an oath of secrecy to cover the crime and also refused to produce his two sons that were responsible for the killing.”
The Baale, when interrogated, denied involvement of the killing, adding that he had fingered the chief of the community but the police turned a deaf ear.
In another development, the police yesterday arrested five persons over acts of jungle justice after they lynched a yet-to-be identified man at Oshodi on Tuesday.
According to Guardian, the arrested persons are Ogbonna Nwankwo, Oyetunji Abimbola, Akeem Jimoh, Kingsley Okoro and Idris Adebisi. They were arrested for instigating the mob that lynched the deceased over allegations that he kidnapped two children at Akinpelu area of Oshodi.
By the time the Akinpelu Police Division got to the scene, the deceased was already clubbed to death, leaving his corpse for the police to take to the morgue.
Confirming the incident, Owoseni said despite warnings to members of the public to desist from taking the law into their hands, these suspects enacted same act.

Body Of Missing Toddler Found In Lagos Shrine

The lifeless body of a four-year-old missing child was, at the early hours of yesterday, found close to a shrine at Iwaya area of Lagos, with her throat slashed.

The toddler, Farida Ayomide Suleiman, who was suspected to have been used for ritual at the shrine, was last seen on Tuesday in the company of her siblings, going to a mosque around the area.

Form the mosque, they were said to have gone to a family friend’s house. However, apprehension set in when Ayomide was discovered to have disappeared, a development that led to a search around the area.

Hours later, an alarm raised by the girl’s mother alerted tenants of 28 Ogbe Close, who discovered the body of her missing daughter behind her window where the shrine is located.

Briefing journalists on the incident, Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Police Command, Fatai Owoseni, who visited the scene, said 10 persons, including parents of the deceased toddler, are in Police custody.

Owoseni said: “The DPO of Sabo Division alerted me at the early hours of this morning (yesterday) that a couple came to the station to say that their missing child’s body was found behind their window, near an Ogun shrine, with her throat slashed.

“I was at the scene till 4a.m. with detectives. We have recovered the corpse and also saw the tool with which she was murdered- a knife.

“Ten persons, including parents of the deceased, have been taken into custody for interrogation. We are not saying categorically that they killed the child; the shrine has been in the compound for years.

“If there is no conspiracy of silence, the tenants would have known that sacrifices have been going on in the shrine.

“The owner of the compound was worshipping in the shrine before he died. After his demise, we gathered that people used to come to worship at the shrine.”
Mother’s story

When Vanguard arrived the scene, it was observed that the building has been condoned off by policemen even as the occupants have fled.

The bereaved mother, Mrs Bunmi Suleiman, told Vanguard: “When news of her disappearance reached me, we started looking for her. At about 8p.m., I went to the back yard to fetch water for ablution before going to pray.

“That was when I noticed something on the ground, which I thought was a bucket of water. But when I flashed my torchlight, I discovered to my astonishment that it was my daughter. I screamed; my husband rushed out and alerted other tenants. We rushed our child to the hospital, where we were told that she had died.

“We moved into the compound three years ago. We usually see people coming to worship at the shrine, but never have we seen nor heard that they sacrificed human beings in the shrines. What they use as sacrifice are dogs.

“Yesterday (Tuesday), a man and a woman came with a chicken to sacrifice on the shrine. They called one of the children to help them kill the chicken, but he refused.

By the time the third child refused, they left only to come back at night to use my child to replace the cock that was to be used for sacrifice, with her blood spilled in the shrine.

“I don’t know those who usually come to worship here. After the death of our landlord, his children worshipped at the shrine, but they do not live here; they only come to collect house rent from us.

“Other people also come to worship and leave. There is no particular person that says at the shrine.”

No Sex Before Conor McGregor Fight- Mayweather

Floyd Mayweather says he's putting business before pleasure and all the ladies can wait for now. He is ready to dig but not after his fight with Conor McGregor which is much more important to him than SEX. Where is Usain Bolt?

It's an old superstition that's been around the boxing game for years. You remember Mick from the 'Rocky' movies famously said, "Women weaken legs"? Lol.

Well, Floyd seems to agree and that's exactly what he is about to do- staying off women.

Checkout Why This Lady drags Her parents to court

A 20- year-old Zimbabwean woman has dragged her parents to court for barring her from staying with her husband.
According to her, her parents were infringing on her right to have sex with her husband.
The parents are arguing that their daughter’s husband has not paid lobola (a bride price, usually paid with cattle).
Spiwe Kwenda(20), of Mutiti Village, surprised all and sundry when she dragged her parents to court for interfering with her marriage, ZimNews reports.
Kwenda told Buhera Magistrate Dennis Mangosi that her parents, Ian Kwenda and Violent Dhuvadhuve, were disrupting her marriage by forcing her to come back home.
She further argued she was being deprived of her right to have sex with her husband.
  • “The two are disturbing my marriage which is very bad. My mother confiscated my clothes and refused to hand them back to me,” said Spiwe.
Dhuvadhuve however argued that Spiwe ran away from home without informing her parents.
  • “We want our daughter to return home because her husband has never paid us even a single cent. We want her husband to pay lobola. We want three beasts from her husband,” said Dhuvadhuve.

Rare photo of Tiwa Savage smoking Shisha at a club surfaces online

You have seen all shades of Tiwa Savage definitely; the Queen of pop, the diva, the slay queen, the wife, the respectful Tiwa and Tiwa the dancer but you probably have never seen Tiwa enjoying life through the smokes of the shisha!
Don’t feel left out, we also never saw it until a camera sneaked up on the queen while she was puffing up some shisha recently at a club in Lagos.
Apparently, Tiwa Savage was oblivious to the camera, as the targets of the shot were two other Mavin stars; Reekado Banks and Dr Sid. However, Tiwa was somewhere in the background, head bent as she puffed!
Now we have seen Tiwa the shisha lover and this, we can add to our knowledge of her! Lol…

I Need To FEED My 15 Kids, Let Me Out.. DMX Begs Judge Over House Confinement

DMX is losing his mind under house confinement, because he's already asking a judge to let him out so he can support his fam.

DMX's lawyer, Murray Richman, fired off a letter to a NY federal judge Monday asking that his client be allowed to travel to Atlanta, Vegas, Philly, and L.A. for some August/Sept. gigs, the most immediate being Thursday in ATL.

The judge shot down the ATL request because it came in too late. The judge made it clear, all requests to leave the house must be submitted at least a week in advance.

As for the other requests, DMX's probation officers want the judge to turn thumbs-down, because they think it'll interfere with his drug program.

Murray says, he's negotiating to get DMX out for some of the upcoming dates, saying the guy's got 15 kids to feed and needs to make a living.

You'll recall DMX violated bail conditions in his tax evasion case by skipping town without a heads-up to the court and later failing drug tests. That's why he's now on house arrest. But he says he's got kids to feed and should be let OUT

Behind The Scene: Captain America Civil War Parts Shot in 'Lagos' (Photos)

Leaked photos show Captain America in his costume being surrounded by people in what looks like an Obalende or an Ojuelegba parts of Lagos, complete with the yellow danfo buses and the heavy foot traffic.

However, all of that was shot in Atlanta with special effects and African-American actors.

One wonders if the depiction of Lagos, Nigeria will be the stereotypical Hollywood story of suffering or it will be the true tale of hustle and flow.

Meanwhile, here are on some set photos. It is not clear which ones will make the cut yet.

Man Executed For Rape, Murder Of 4-Year-Old

Yemenis gathered today in the rebel- held capital to witness the putting to death of a man convicted of raping and killing a child, in the second such public execution in weeks.

Hussein al-Saket, 22, was found guilty of abducting, raping and murdering a four-year-old girl, who he later buried, said Rajeh Ezzedine, a judge who attended the execution.

Ali Ayedh, the victim's uncle, said Saket "took part in the search for the girl before being unmasked" during the police investigation. He said his public execution would act as a "deterrent for criminals".

Saket was placed face down on Tahrir square in Sanaa, which the Shiite Huthi rebels have controlled since 2014.

A policeman shot him dead through the back with five bullets aiming for the heart, before his body was strung up on the end of a crane.

On July 31, another man was executed in the same square after being convicted of raping and murdering a three-year-old girl.

Both executions have been framed as an example of the Shiite rebels' efforts to combat crime in their areas.

The Iran-backed Huthis have been locked in war with the Saudi-backed government of President Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi for more than two years.

Imo poly student steals N19m car, sells it for N300k to ‘have a good life and take care of his girlfriend’

Imo State Polytechnic
A 26-year-old student of Imo State Polytechnic, Umuagwo, Johnbosco Ashiegbu, and 34-year-old Chinonso Ewurum, have been arrested by operatives of Special Anti-Robbery Squad in Imo State for allegedly stealing two vehicles.

The police claimed that the vehicles stolen by Ashiegbu and Ewurum included a N19m Hilux van belonging to the Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State, adding that the suspects sold the vehicle to one Nnamdi Ejinkeonye in Onitsha for N300,000.
The other vehicle, a Toyota Camry, the police said, was stolen by the suspects in the Imo Housing Estate axis of Owerri, where it was parked by its owner.
The Toyota Camry, valued at N3.9m, was said to have also been sold to Ejinkeonye for N350,000.
The undergraduate, who hails from the Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State, said that he took to the crime so as to raise money to “sort out my results in school.”
He said,
“My desire to sort out my results in school led me into crime. After arranging my results in school, I used the remaining money to live a good life and to take care of my girlfriend.”
He explained that while he got N30,000 from the sale of the Hilux owned by the government, he realised N285,000 from the sale of the Toyota Camry.
A police source, who spoke to Southern City News on condition of anonymity, said the suspects were notorious for using fabricated keys to open peoples’ cars, which they usually sold at Onitsha Market

Police To Pay Muslim Woman $85k For Forcefully Removing Her Hijab

A California city has agreed to pay USD 85,000 (72,000 euros) to settle a lawsuit filed by a Muslim woman whose hijab was forcibly removed by the police.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations, (CAIR) which announced the settlement on Thursday, had sued the city of long beach on behalf of Kirsty Powell, an African-American Muslim, "after police officers forcibly removed her hijab in view of other male officers and dozens of inmates."

Powell, who wears the head covering "as part of her religious beliefs," was "forced to spend the entire night exposed in custody and described the experience as deeply traumatizing," the rights group said.

Powell was arrested during a traffic stop in May 2015 on outstanding warrants that were since cleared. Long Beach voted today to approve the settlement, CAIR said, adding that nearby communities have already adopted policies protecting religious headwear in detention following similar lawsuits.

Now female officers are required to remove the headscarves of female inmates "when necessary for officer safety," and away from male officers and inmates, Long Beach assistant city attorney said.

During the arrest officers told Powell that she had to remove her hijab.

Powell was denied requests for a female officer to search her, and was denied requests to wear her hijab in custody.

Mariah Carey Shares Photo With Serena Williams Backstage

She isn't adverse to flaunting her curves in a skintight ensemble. And Mariah Carey did exactly that when she exited the stage following her Fort Lauderdale, Florida, show at the BB&T Center yesterday night, where she was greeted by a very famous fan.

The 47-year-old singer squeezed her ample assets into a very low-cut green frock, before sharing a photo with expectant tennis ace Serena Williams.

Serena, 35 - who is expected to welcome her first child with Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian next month - beamed as she shared a photograph backstage with the Fantasy hitmaker.

Also in the image were Mariah's adorable six-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe, who appear to have already perfected their posing skills.

Checkout two beautiful UNILAG students that die in a Lagos hotel fire (Photos)

Two students of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) have died in a midnight fire at a Lagos hotel.
Roli Odogwu, a 200-Level Mass Communication student, and Linda Elegeonye, a 300-Level Law student, died of burns, days after they were trapped in the hotel room where they were guests.

Until their death, the two students were residents of Fagunwa Hall.
CAMPUSLIFE gathered that the duo left the campus on Monday to attend an evening event off-campus. When it dawned on them that they could not return to the campus late in the night, they reportedly lodged in the hotel to pass the night.
The late Roli’s friend, who did not want to be named, said she spoke to her mother to inform her of her decision to pass the night in the hotel.
It was gathered that the victims were asleep when the inferno started from a faulty air conditioner. CAMPUSLIFE learnt that the victims were trapped for several minutes before they were rescued from the room. They sustained first-degree burns. They were rushed to Gbagada General Hospital.
Last Saturday, Roli died at 4am and was buried at Atan Cemetery in Yaba. On Sunday, news broke that Linda, who had been in coma for six days, had also died.
A friend, who pleaded for anonymity, said she was informed about the incident by a policeman who picked up the late Roli’s call on Tuesday.
She said:
“The policeman told me that the owner of the phone (Roli) and her friend were involved in a fire accident and they were unconscious. I was told they had been moved to Trauma and Burns Unit of the Gbagada General Hospital. I informed other friends and we went to the hospital. When we got there, we were not allowed to see them immediately. Three hours after, we were allowed in with their parents and other family members.
“Roli was conscious and responding to treatment, but Linda was still in a coma. The burns were severe and we hoped both could make it. We are deeply hurt by their death.”

Internet Reacts As Italian Playboy Who Teases Them With Wealth Has His Yacht & Properties Seized By Creditors

He is the Italian playboy who flaunts his wealth to 11 million Instagram followers in a series of outrageous shots - often alongside a bevvy of beauties.

But Gianluca Vacchi, 50, had his yacht and several properties seized by creditors - much to the amusement of the Internet.

The tattooed, body-building heir to an industrial empire fills his social media with a cash-rich, work-free existence dedicated to the pursuit of pleasure.

But now his lavish lifestyle is being remorselessly parodied on the internet. Twitter users have posted pictures of themselves posing, Vacchi-style in front of plastic paddling pools and pedalos, while a Facebook page entitled 'Find Gianluca Vacchi a job' has attracted a huge following.

With his penchants for classic cars and private jet, he made '#Enjoy' his online catchphrase and the title of a self-congratulatory book he published last year.

He recounts after 20 years of hard work in the family business, he had had an epiphany and decided to give it up.

Instead, he choose to cavort pool-side with the likes of his current paramour, Ariadna Gutierrez, a former Miss Colombia.

So inevitably social media users were amused that Vacchi has had a yacht and several villas seized by banks demanding repayment of debts of 10.5 million euros.

His stake in a golf course near Bologna has also been confiscated pending an arrangement with creditors who fear other debts may have been hidden, the Quotidiano Nazionale reported.

Vacchi claimed, 'It is just a little debt,' when set against the value of the family business, IMA, a conglomerate with interests in packaging and pharmaceuticals.

The playboy's stake reportedly generates dividends of five million euros a year.

However, it seems that may not have been enough to sustain a lifestyle now being mercilessly parodied on the web.

An appeal for funds to pay off Vacchi's has not done so well: by Friday it had only attracted pledges of five euros.
