Chinese Man Dies On Bauchi-Jos Highway, But He ‘Caused’ it

The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Bauchi State Sector Command has confirmed the death of a Chinese man in an auto crash at Tashan Durumi village, along Bauchi-Jos federal highway.

The Sector Commander, Abdulrazak Najume, who confirmed this to newsmen in Bauchi, said that the deceased was driving a Toyota Hilux along with three other Chinese nationals, whose identities are yet to be ascertained, when the accident occurred. He said: “The driver of the Hilux slept off and ran into an oncoming trailer. All the victims of the crash were rushed to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital, Bauchi, where the driver of the Hilux was confirmed dead while the three other victims, who sustained varying degrees of injuries, are currently receiving treatment.

“The trailer’s driver said the man driving the Hilux was sleeping when he veered off the road to his lane, adding that he tried to avoid him, but could not.”

The Sector Commander advised drivers to avoid excessive speed and cautioned drivers against indulging in acts that endanger their lives and other road users.
