Ogun Police Nab 3 Suspected Car Thieves

Operatives of Ogun State Police Command have arrested three suspected car-snatching syndicate at Temidire area of Sango Ota.

The suspects, Kazeem Adeyemi and Jide Omotunde according to police source, were arrested on December 3, 2016 by operatives attached to Sango Divisional Headquarters while on routine patrol of the area.

Vanguard learned that the suspects were arrested when a Toyota Highlander SUV with number plate, KRD 168 EL, with two occupants was stopped by the police. According to the source, “the occupants were unable to give satisfactory account of themselves and on further interrogation, it was discovered that the duo conspired together to steal the vehicle. They were arrested and brought to the station for proper investigation.


The source also said, one Okoye Michael, who was seen with a KIA Cerato car which investigation revealed was stolen from a park, was arrested. The car with number plate, AAA 446 AX, was said to have been stolen through the help of a security guard of the owner’s company who gave the car key to the suspect and opened the gate for him to escape. According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Command, ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi, Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered full investigation of the two cases with a view to charging the culprits to court. He said the CP had equally appealed to members of the public to always screen those they want to employ as their domestic staff so as not to employ criminal into their domain.
