The funny thing about this pic is that my grandmother's grandmother was still alive when this pic was taken. I lived with my great, great grandmother until her death in 1979, her daughter, my great grandmother, lived well into the 1990s and we often stayed at her house in Cluj Napoca anytime we visited Romania.

Her grand daughter however, which happens to be my grandmother, the lady in this pic, died in 1984! #BeautifulMemories!

US preacher who praised the Orlando gay club shooting banned from entering South Africa

Stephen Anderson, an American pastor who made headlines after praising the Orlando attacks at a gay club in June has been banned from entering South Africa along with his associates.

South Africa's home affairs minister said after consultation with leaders of the nation's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities, he decided Anderson is not welcome there.  Anderson had intended to visit South Africa this week, until he learned of the news.

 Americans traveling to South Africa don't need visas as part of a waiver program. Despite the program, the pastor and his associates will not be allowed into the nation.

 In a statement explaining the decision to ban Anderson, Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba said:

"I have identified Steven Anderson and members and/or associates of his church as undesirable persons. I have withdrawn their visa exemption status, enjoyed by all Americans ... on the basis that I am certain they promote hate speech as well as advocate social violence."

South Africa is the first African country to impose a constitutional ban on discrimination based on sexual orientation.

Anderson who leads the Faithful Word Baptist Church in Tempe, Arizona said in a message on Facebook and YouTube, Anderson that he's aware of the ban and is "sorry for people who live in South Africa."

He said he's moving on to his next destination: Botswana.

"Stand by for reports of multitudes saved in Botswana, where religious freedom still exists," he posted.

Worthy Advise To Ladies and Guys Seeking True Marriage

Marriage has been bastardize, with many now interested in the "cash" and "body" . And this goes for both ladies who think their boobs or butt means they can't marry a man who's not rich, as declared by one recently, and guys who leave their decent women for desperate ladies with 'assets'.

Its Raining Potatoes in Mzanzi

Potatoes are a favourite in Mzansi – popular as chips or mash as a side for meat, or even simply baked or boiled. And when they’re free it’s even better, lol.

So when a big truck carrying tons of potatoes overturned on the N12, south of Joburg, motorists, pedestrians and even truck drivers all stopped to score.

Many were on their way to work, but risked running late rather than to miss such an opportunity.

The truck from Grain Carriers overturned right after taking the off-ramp from the N12 going to Potchefstroom.


Motorists stopped to fill their trunks and those who didn’t have cars came up with innovative ideas, some taking their jackets off and fashioning them into bags, while others searched the nearby fields for plastic bags.

The scene looked like hyenas eating a buffalo as people bent their heads down to pick up the potatoes.

And in less than two hours, the road was clean!

Details have emerged on why America born preacher, Mike Murdock disappointed over 10,000 people over the weekend by not showing up at this year’s Excel 2016, a celestial church of Christ concert organized by Genesis Model Parish in Lagos.

Murdock, who was contacted to motivate participants at the event on Sunday, September 11, 2016, was nowhere to be found even though his absence was not really felt.

According to findings, Murdock couldn’t attend the event, which was held at the Grand Ballroom, Oriental Hotel, Lekki, Lagos, as a result of blackmail leveled against the Celestial church by some Pentecostal pastors.

According to the host, prophet Israel Oladele Ogundipe popularly known as Genesis, he alleged that on hearing Murdock’s coming some pastors in Nigeria started calling to blackmail him from coming.


“They called Mike Murdock, saying that he should not come for a programme by white garment church in Nigeria. According to the Pentecostal pastors, white garment churches don’t have integrity. They told him that if he attends their programme he would soil his reputation”, the prophet said.

He also said he wondered why some so called Pentecostal pastors would go to such extent to blackmail a man of God from coming to Nigeria or taking part in a programme for the work of the gospel, noting that most of the so called Pentecostal pastors are marketers and not serious men of God.

According to findings, Ogundipe was said to have invited the preacher to be part of Excel 2016, and in which the preacher agreed to as evident in the advert aired on Channels TV, a day to the event. But at the last minute, on his arrival in Nigeria, some Pentecostal pastors allegedly led by a Nigerian pastor who has the biggest church in UK, were said to have approached Murdock not to honour the invitation, alleging that his reputation would be soiled if he graces the event.

However, even with Murdock’s absence, the event was a success as there was plenty to take home for participants in terms of spiritual blessings, entertainment and motivation to excel.

On the entertainment stand, Lara George, Lanre Teriba, Big B, George Audu Sax and the Genesis choir performed at the event.

Excel is said to be a yearly spiritual event mixed with praise, worship and motivational talks to propel participants to keep on excelling.

Armed Robbers who attacked Onazi Ogenyi's house & beat up dad arrested in Lagos

Police in Lagos State have arrested the five armed robbers, who attacked and robbed footballer Onazi Ogenyi's family home in Jos, Plateau State.

The Punch newspaper reports that police officers attached to the Ilemba Hausa Division swooped on the suspects at their hideout and recovered a Highlander Jeep.

“Four of them are in custody as we speak,” a source told the newspaper.

Lagos state police command spokesperson, SP Dolapo Badmos, confirmed the arrest, adding that the suspects would be paraded at the Lagos command headquarters later today.

Two days ago, Onazi had announced the invasion of his Jos home. He stated that his father was also beaten up by the armed robbers.

The player stated that the men had claimed they came from a courier company and had a letter for his father:

Breaking News: Companies plead guilty to laundering “Patience Jonathan’s $15m

The four companies pleaded guilty to conspiring with Dudafa and the two others to launder a sum of  $15, 591,700 before a Federal High Court in Lagos on Thursday.

The companies are Pluto Property and Investment Company Limited; Seagate Property Development & Investment Co. Limited; Trans Ocean Property and Investment Company Limited and Development Company Limited and Avalon Global Property Development Company Limited.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had since frozen the $15.6m found in the four companies’ accounts in Skye Bank.

But wife of ex-President Jonathan, Patience, has sued the EFCC and Skye Bank, laying claims to the money.

Three alleged thieves who specialized in stealing telecommunication mast batteries were nabbed yesterday at Emenike street off Ngwa Road in Aba, Abia State and brutally beaten by angry mob.

The suspects were caught with 15 lister batteries which are the change over batteries that power the MTN mast. One of them have been identified as Bakassi. Police arrived the scene after the mob had administered street justice and took them to Cameroon road Police barracks.

Mary J. Blige’s divorce from her manager and husband Martin “Kendu” Isaacs has taken a turn for the complicated, with Isaacs financial demands coming to the light.

According to TMZ, Isaacs requested for spousal support and financial assistance for lawyer fees. The details were included in Kendu’s response to the singer’s divorce petition. Unity Bank Sacks 215 Workers

Unity Bank Plc yesterday reduced its over 2,000 workforce by sacking 215 members of staff, it was reliably learnt.
The exercise, it was further leant, was to enable the lender realign its operation and pursue a long term growth strategy.

Some of the downsized staff members were said to have opted to resign while management approved severance package for them in line with the bank’s policy.
The lender last May, forged a strategic alliance with Black Trituium, equity and investment fund manager.

The bank said it in a report on its website that it was driven by the vision to be the retail bank of choice for all Nigerians and “this is at the core of all that we do”.
Investigation revealed that the affected members of staff were those that achieved less than 40 per cent of their performance target, which affected the lender’s overall profitability in recent years.

The downsizing, which cut across all cadres including junior, middle and top management positions, happened at a time majority of banks are battling with poor profitability over harsh economic conditions and heightened business risks from the plunge in crude oil prices.
The bank is also said to have attracted specialist skills to its workforce since the relocation of its head office from Abuja to Lagos, which was in line with its plan to grow market share in viable clusters of the retail market.

A source close to the bank said the new focus of the business has led to significant enhancement of human capital in its various business units.
This was with a view to injecting fresh ideas, initiatives and energies to strengthen its various departments with capabilities to pursue the attainment of strategic business focus in the Agricultural financing, retail/Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and development of rural economy.

It was further learnt, the bank recently hired about 200 new staff to drive the transformation initiative while about 100 other staff were said to have been promoted.

Suspected kidnapper blames harsh economy for his act (photo)

According to Punch, while begging the mob not to lynch him, Ibeleme said he was forced into kidnapping because of the harsh economic condition in the country.
This middle-aged man Charles Ibeleme was caught yesterday by the residents of  Odi Olowo in the Mushin area of Lagos State while he was allegedly taking away a child he had just kidnapped.

An eyewitness, who gave his name only as Sunmibare, said Ibeleme pleaded with the mob not to lynch him, as he was only finding a means of survival. He said,

“We caught him in the afternoon. He was taking a child away from our area. People beat
him up and tore his clothes. The man was afraid that he would be lynched and pleaded that his life should be spared. He said he was looking for money.

“He explained that the harsh economy forced him into the act. This got people angry and they would have killed him, but for the arrival of the policemen.”

Ibeleme was thereafter handed over to policemen from the Olosan division.

EFCC Declares Former Katsina Governor, Shema Wanted

Former Katsina State Governor Ibrahim Shema has been declared wanted for alleged mismanagement of N74.6billion. EFCC operatives yesterday stormed his Abuja home to arrest him but he was not there.

Some top officials of Shema’s administration will have to account for N30billion security vote which was diverted monthly by local government councils, a source as been quoted to have said.

It will be recalled that the Katsina State government had petitioned the anti-graft commission, alleging mismanagement of about N74 billion by the Shema administration.

A statement however by EFCC spokesman Wilson Uwujaren, said Shema was “wanted in connection with a case of criminal conspiracy, inflation of contracts, abuse of office, diversion of funds and embezzlement running into billions of naira.

Buhari, Ministers, Others To Tackle Recession At Retreat Today

President Muhammadu Buhari will today chair an extra-ordinary retreat in Abuja to seek for ways of pulling the economy out of recession.

Expected at the one-day retreat are Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC), and heads of relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).

Private sector facilitators and some economic experts have been invited to offer perspectives during the technical sessions.

In a statement, the Ministry of Budget & National Planning said discussions on measures to revamp the economy will be the focus of the retreat.

The Peoples Democratic Party on Wednesday issued a statement calling for President Muhammadu Buhari to step down from office over his poor handling of the country’s economy.

Dayo Adeyeye, spokesman for the PDP caretaker committee, said Mr. Buhari had exhibited “crass ineptitude” since he assumed office last year, a situation that has “given rise to high rate of unemployment, fall in output and increase in government borrowing.”

The statement comes two weeks after the party released a similar one following news that the economy had officially slid into recession.

“Our call for the President to return the country to how he met it in 2015 is justified on the following grounds: a bag of rice was N7,000 and now it’s above N20,000; a mudu of beans was N150 and now it’s N500; one US Dollar was trading for N197 but now it’s over N400; a litre of fuel was N87 but now N145; cost of transportation and other services have skyrocketed,” the party said.


The PDP also slammed the Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, over her recent comment that “recession is a word.”

The PDP said Mrs. Adeosun’s comment had further established that the Buhari administration lacked the capacity to effectively run the country.

“The crass ineptitude and lukewarm-attitude of this APC government is no longer tolerable, and therefore, we are calling on President Buhari and his team to return Nigeria to its state of a booming economy before they assumed office in May 2015, and then quit immediately to allow other capable leaders recover our ailing economy.”

Nigerian troops on Thursday said it has killed four Boko Haram terrorists and captured one alive during a clearance operation around Jororo and Tombaeji villages in Geidam Local Government Area of Yobe State.

A statement released by the Acting Director Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, said: “Following reported observed activities of remnants of Boko Haram terrorists around Jororo and Tombaeji villages in Geidam Local Government Area of Yobe State, troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE carried out a clearance operation within the area in the early hours of Wednesday 14th September 2016.”

“The fighting patrol team sent came into contact with Boko Haram terrorists elements around Gajire village during which there was a firefight that lasted for about 15 minutes.”

“The gallant troops overpowered the terrorists and killed 4 of them and captured 1 alive.” “The victorious troops also recovered 2 General Purpose Machine Guns (GMPG), 2 AK-47 Rifles and 144 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition from the terrorists.”

“In addition, they also recovered 2 KASEA branded motorcycles.” “The troops have continued to patrol the general area in search of possible remnants of the Boko Haram terrorists that might be hibernating in the area.”

“The ever vigilant troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE have continued their routine operations maintaining vigilance to prevent further actions by the Boko Haram terrorists in their respective areas of operations.”

Let me quickly state here that I have no ties with any artiste he mentioned in his post but then again I'm going to speak like a fan of Naija music.

Calling people arrogant and saying their career is fast hitting the rock or has gone into oblivion and he went further to compare young artiste with those who I will simply call veterans is a plus. I must confess, your innuendos are weighty and you threw punchlines like an artiste you have refused to be even in your failed quest in music, you never gave such punchlines.

See the kettle calling the pot black has forgetting that it will still end up in same fire as the pot. Let's go back in time and catch up on your career as a comedian/artiste/compere or whatever you say you are...

I remembered vividly that you shone into limelight during the reigning era of Nite Of A Thousand Laugh and other comedy gigs organized by Opa Williams and some other veterans. Thank God for such platforms who gave you a facelift but you have refused to use that lift to your advantage. Where is your comedy career today?

When we talk of comedians you started with and looking at those in their prime, I'm sorry to say you aren't among the first 10 names to be called. Your fellow comedians are making bold moves on Comedy Central and selling out shows to their advantage and taking the pains off masses via their spontaneous vibes. Our bros is here busying himself with his children and calling them names smh. If you can't floor with the comedy industry tides, then let the tides take you away because bros, your jokes no funny at all. Gone where the days you come on stage to tell some sick stories that sound like comedy to your ears. Egbon, we don wake up.

Just like yesterday, you're no longer relevant like the names of the artistes you mentioned in your post. Find another career Bros.

Now, let's come to your music. That's a joke that's worth $1m in this present economy situation. You suppose don cash that money for bank. You have also started your own talk show like some good comedians who diversified their talents into other money making ventures. Don't get too excited, the difference is clear like 7UP. I saw a very popular actress' snap who was on your show and she laughed her head off only for reasons best known to her. I looked at the settings and all and found out why she laughed so hard. YOU DRESSED AS  WOMAN ON YOUR SHOW LOL. Why that I no sabi, perhaps that's a segment of the show huh. You tied headgear(gele) and made yourself up lmao. The actress even went as far as calling you a BALU.
We've seen comedy talkshows that are A class and above par. We have seen so many super guest on such show ranging from politicians to celebs to activists. Simple reason for that is they have a very good concept and the creators of such shows have in-depth analysis of what they wanted before bringing that to life. I wait to see your show on a cable platform or on terrestrial tv.

On a final note, it is said all hands aren't equal. When you're pointing accusing finger at others remember that other four fingers are pointed right back at you.

Leave all these young lads alone making names for themselves and selling out shows home and abroad and face your dying career as a comedian/artist/compere/host and make the best out of it and be at par with your colleagues. If an artiste decides to be arrogant, bros e no concern you Na your life? Na your career? Na your money? And you wey dey call people arrogant too dey arrogant ehn. Na wa o.

Photos: NEMA Officials Visit Scenes Of Multiple Earth Tremors In Kaduna

The National Emergency Management Agency NEMA, led by its North West Zonal Coordinator, Alhaji Musa Ilallah has led an assessment team comprising of the agency's staff and that of Nigeria Geological Survey Agency to the scenes of the incident.

Having taking round the affected areas by chairman of the local government area, Mr.Ben Kure and authorities of the community, the assessment team discovered that loud sound waves was reported.

According to Musa there was no physical crack. "We observed that there was no physical crack on the rock surface, the road or any earth surface but a number of buildings particularly mud houses were shatered by cracks as a result of the tremor," he said. More photos below...
