Photo: Lagos Arrests 8 Prostitutes In Gen. Azazi’s House

The Lagos State Government has arrested eight suspected prostitutes and three men in the house of late National Security Adviser, Gen. Andrew Owoye Azazi in Ikoyi area of Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.

The arrest was part of the Lagos State Government’s clean up exercise in Ikoyi and Victoria Island which have been overtaken by illegal and abandoned structures.

Officials of the Lagos State Taskforce on Environmental and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit and the police from Ikoyi Police Station stormed Azazi’s abandoned house at 5 Club Road, Ikoyi and arrested eight suspected prostitutes plying their trade in the area, along with three other men.

Most of the young women arrested were from Benue State and will be charged to court by the taskforce for constituting nuisance in the area.

“I don’t know anything happening in the compound until Saturday when they came to arrest us by police from Ikoyi Police Station, they released us to come back and pack our things, when we were inside to pack our loads, they came back and arrested us again. Nobody has come to warn us to stay away from there,” said Patience Ajoke, one of the suspected prostitutes.

Mary Augustine, a 20-year old suspected prostitute from Benue State told Pm News she was arrested because she was staying at Azazi’s house, saying she was not a prostitute but a cleaner.

According to Anjo Blessing, 24, Benue State, “I work as a cook with Mrs Essie John. I was arrested because they told us to pack out of the house. We were packing our things when the police came and arrested us. Even if you go there now, my clothes are still on the ground.”

But Taskforce chairman, Yinka Egbeyemi said the women were prostitutes and had turned Azazi’s house into a prostitute den.

“We have been there once with the DPO of Ikoyi Police Station. They sell ‘paranga’ in that place,” saying that policemen and soldiers were always seen at the place patronizing them, adding that the people living in that place had been told to vacate the place long ago, but that they refused to leave.

“During the clean up exercise, we were asked to move there again. We saw policemen and military men there and all sort of human beings. They are doing prostitution business there. We are going to charge them to court,’ he said.

Egbeyemi said the clean up exercise was ongoing and would be total, adding that the state government had issued ultimatum to owners of abandoned properties in Ikoyi and Victoria Island to rehabilitate them or forfeit them to the government

PDP, Ijaw Killed My Husband, Not APC- Alameiseigha‎’S Widow

Mrs. Magareth Alameiseigha, the widow of the First Executive Governor of Bayelsa State, Late Diepreye Solomon Alameisegha, yesterday exonerated the leadership of the All Progressive Congress (APC) from the events which led to the October 2015 death of her husband.

According to Mrs. Alameiseigha, though the events leading to the last year death of her husband sparked off controversy between the PDP and APC ahead of the Governorship election, the killing of her husband started with his removal from office, arrest, trial and seizure of owned properties under the leadership of the PDP.

Mrs. Margareth Alameiseigha, the widow of former governor of Bayelsa state, Late Chief D.S.P Alamieyeseigha, while speaking with news men during the First Year Anniversary of his death, said ‎the controversy surrounding the death of her husband was not necessary, ” the PDP that frustrated and sent her husband to his early grave and not the All Progressives Congress (APC) as widely speculated.”

According to her,  “I can categorically say today that it was the PDP that arrested my husband, seized all his properties and humiliated him to the point of his death. It is PDP that killed my husband and not the APC. It was PDP that arrested my husband, it was PDP that humiliated my husband and killed him. At the end they seized everything that belonged to him.”

“It was the PDP that tormented my husband and he died as a result of the humiliation he suffered in the hands of the PDP. As far as am concerned, the humiliated me and took everything away from us.”

Mrs. Alamieyeseigha, described her husband as a man who wholeheartedly fought for the emancipation of the Ijaw people but that it is sad to note that the same people he fought for that sold her husband out to the PDP that eventually killed him.

Recounting how her husband was protested against and humiliated before he was arrested, she called on the people of Ijaw ethnic nationality to shun acts that may cause them to betray their leaders.

“When my husband took over the mantle of leadership, he saw how his people were suffering. As an intelligent man, he saw the need to fight for resource control as the way out for his people.”

“But at the end it is the same people that he fought for that betrayed him. They sold him out to the PDP that eventually killed him. I want to advise the Ijaw people to stop betraying their leaders, so that they can move forward.”

There are way too many RCCG branches and too many 'men of God' | OAP Freeze tells Pastor E.A Adeboye to cut down the number of Pastors in Redeem

The Cool FM OAP have reacted to the information he got on how a RCCG pastor Brutalized A teenage orphan living with him

Well, OAP Freeze has reacted thus:

Dear pastor Adeboye, I have a few questions for you and the Redeemed church of God, concerning an incident involving a certain pastor Clifford Ojugo of the Redeemed Church, who allegedly burnt the buttocks of an orphan.
1. Is this man truly a pastor with the RCCG?
2. If the answer is yes, how did this man become a pastor?
3. What are you doing to ensure that this act which has cast a huge shadow of doubt on your church, especially with regards to how pastors emerge does not go unpunished?
4. What steps are the RCCG taking to ensure the rehabilitation, welfare and protection of this child going forward?
-----------------------------------
In my humble opinion, there are way too many RCCG branches and too many 'men of God'. Is there any way these numbers can be cut down to enable you have more control over what these men of God are doing with the 'brand'? Because in the 1990's a redeemed church was opened under my father's hospital in Aremo, Ibadan and it had to be closed down after my father instigated a lawsuit against them, citing the way the noise pollution generated by the church, was adversely affecting the health and peace of mind of the patients on admission, especially those who were admitted for hypertension, who suffered tremendously from the noise resulting from the drumming, singing and mega phone announcement during, service, revivals and night vigils.
Thank you sir ~FRZ

Cattle Grazing, Roaming Banned In FCT

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has commenced fight against cattle grazing and roaming in the Abuja city centre. A Ministerial Task Team on Environment under the Chairmanship of Squadron Leader Abdullahi Monjel, has been inaugurated to keep the animals off the streets of Abuja.

The ban on cattle movement in the city came amidst protests by residents that the animals constitute nuisance and threat to lives.

The FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Bello, has met with members of the Miyatti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, FCT Chapter on the matter. At the meeting held in his office, the minister directed the association to nominate some of its educated young men to be part of the committee. He reiterated that herdsmen must move their cattle out of the Federal Capital City because there is no way, such animals can co-habit with the residents.

Malam Bello emphasized that even for safety reasons, cattle should not roam on the streets and highways in the city and this is not because the government wants to prevent cattle breeders from raring cattle in the Territory.

FG, EFCC Wants To Kill Fani Kayode-PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has released a statement on Fani Kayode’s re-arrest saying the APC led Federal Government and the EFCC wants the former Minister dead. The statement released this morning reads:

“It is common knowledge that in furtherance of its campaign of attrition against members of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in the guise of an anti-corruption war, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, former Spokesperson for the PDP Presidential Campaign Organization (PDPPCP) was arrested in the premises of the Federal High Court, Lagos.

“His re-arrest is the latest in a series of plans designed to further harass and intimidate our members and supporters using the security and intelligence apparatus of the Nigerian State.

“A few days before his arrest his wife, Precious Chikwendu and their 8 month old son, Aragorn, were arrested and would have been detained but for the timely intervention of Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State.

“What is not common knowledge is that at the time of his arrest, Chief Fani-Kayode was ill and taking medication. Since his arrest, he has been denied access to his medication and medical doctors who are conversant with his medical history.

“As at the time of writing this statement, officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have continued to deny Chief Fani-Kayode access to his medication.

“The only conclusion that can be reached is that the APC-led Federal Government and EFCC want Chief Fani-Kayode to die in EFCC detention. In the light of the prevailing circumstances where EFCC are detaining an obviously weak and ill man, this is an inescapable conclusion.

“These continuous violations of the constitutional rights and freedoms of the Nigerian people by the Buhari Administration must stop. The Federal Government cannot, and must not, be allowed to continually infringe on the rights of the very people it swore to uphold.

“We call on all well-meaning Nigerians to urge the Federal Government to desist from its path of human rights abuses.”

Tension As Over 200 Herdsmen With Families, Cattle Arrive In Enugu Community

Tension and protest, yesterday, greeted the arrival and settlement of over 200 herdsmen and their cows at Agu Obodo, Obeagwu Ozalla in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State.

The protesting community members said they were overwhelmed by over five trucks that off-loaded the herdsmen, their families and cows in the community and is asking the herdsmen to leave their land within three days as their people can no longer go to their farms.

President-General of Ozalla Development Union, ODU, Chief Afam Ani, who led the protesting women, youths and traditional rulers yesterday, said the herdsmen’s arrival, weekend, caused considerable anxiety and panic in the town, with his people living nearest to farm settlements abandoning their farms and dwellings and taking refuge in other parts of the town.

Ani narrated to newsmen that the herdsmen claimed they were evicted from their previous settlements at Maryland in Enugu South Local Government Area and decided to resettle in Ozalla.

He said they had informed security agencies, the local and state governments to help them evict the herdsmen, citing an ugly experience the community had with the herdsmen in 2012, when they attacked, raped and destroyed properties in the community.

The President-General disclosed that the herdsmen agreed to vacate the community within three days, but that he is pleading with the security agencies to help enforce the agreement.

A traditional ruler of one of the autonomous communities in Ozalla, Igwe C. O. Okafor, described the development as embarrassing, adding that they were not consulted by either the herdsmen or by any proxy before the invasion

He said, “Hunvu came to the Ajegunle, Apapa area on Monday to see his younger brother, Michael Hunvu. We did not know he came to bid us farewell. He had earlier told his eldest son, who is a teenager, to take good care of himself and his younger ones.

“He did not come out clearly to say he wanted to kill himself. Nobody knew the reason he killed himself. It is suspected that he was frustrated.”

Punch Metro learnt that Michael reported the matter at the Morogbo Police Division.

A police source told a Punch correspondent that after Hunvu left the Ajegunle area, he entered his house when his children were not around and hanged himself in a room in the house.

He said, “The children tried reaching him on the telephone, but calls made to him did not connect.

“It was after some days that his body was found in the room.”
