She Bought $20 Fried Chicken, Now She Is Suing KFC $20m
A woman is suing KFC for $20million claiming the takeaway chain is indulging in false advertising because her $20 bucket of fried chicken was only half full.
Anna Wurtzburger, 64, was reportedly told by the fried chicken company the cardboard buckets appeared to be full in commercials so the customer can see the product.
But Wurtzburger, who lives off Social Security and made the purchase as a rare treat, says the business is misleading customers.
She said the chicken should of been advertised in a dish if it couldn't be seen properly in the towering bucket, The New York Post reports.
Wurtzburger, of Hopewell Junction, Hudson Valley, New York, is said to have hired a lawyer and filed a lawsuit against KFC.
She also returned two gift certificates the company sent her to ease her disappointment.
“I came home and said, ‘Where’s the chicken?’ I thought I was going to have a couple of meals,” she told The Post.
“They say it feeds the whole family … They’re showing a bucket that’s overflowing with chicken,” the 64-year-old widow griped.
“You get half a bucket! That’s false advertising, and it doesn’t feed the whole family. They’re small pieces!”
KFC called the lawsuit “meritless”, The Post reported.

Lecturer Busted For Collecting Bribe(Item) From Student
According to Politics Ng, the Rector thanked the ACTU team for doing a wonderful job of redeeming the image of the Polytechnic from maggoty personified Teaching Staff (Lecturers).
His words: “This is still unbelievable! This is pure extortion of students in disguise. It is lamentable and unfortunate that people enjoy it when the little ones cry. The Economy is not very good and as such, students should not be made to go through all these. I built Entrepreneurship and Skill Acquisition Centre for the Students to be taught on how to be self-employed after their Polytechnic Education and not for criminals. Students should be taught how to produce these items and not forced to buy them outside for marks. This situation must be thoroughly dealt with.”

Iraq Parliament Plan To Ban Acohol
Parliament in Iraq has voted to ban the sale, import and production of alcohol, with backers of the move arguing that its availability contradicts Islam and is unconstitutional.
Opponents argue that the vote infringes constitutional guarantees of freedom of religious belief for minority groups such as Christians. They say they will appeal against the surprise decision in the courts.
An official said that the ban was a last-minute move by conservatives.
Since the fall of Saddam Hussein, activities perceived to be contrary to the moral code of Islam have come under repeated attack, with alcohol shops targeted in Baghdad and other cities
The Church Can Bail Out The Country From Recession-Pastor Tunde Bakare
Pastor Tunde Bakare, said the current economic recession was an opportunity for the Church to bail out the country through God-inspired economic principles. Bakare, a Senior Pastor, Latter Rain Assembly, Lagos, stated this on Saturday in Abuja.
He spoke on the theme: “ The Church and Economic Recession , “ at the 14th anniversary celebration of Foursquare Gospel Church.
He said that the church had the ability to bail out nations, influence public policy through God-inspired economic principles and strategically position human resources to implement its principles.
Bakare, however, said that the church was yet to rise to the height mandated to it by destiny to bail out nations and to lead them to God’s will.
“ I am convinced that the recession currently being experienced in Nigeria is an opportunity for the Church.
“Therefore, I declare to you that the Scripture is about to be fulfilled in your hearing as God is stirring up the church to take responsibility for the destiny of Nigeria.
“ That is why we are gathered here today to talk about the church and economic recession.
“ If the church is also reeling from the impact of the recession, we must admit to ourselves that this is against the Scriptural pattern.
“ It is the best of times to take the tenets of the faith beyond the four walls of the church building to the marketplace and the policy roundtable, “ Bakare said.
He said that the nation’s economic recession was largely self-inflicted which could have been avoided, saying “unfortunately for Nigeria, our biggest boom experience fell into the hands of an unprepared leadership.

Dont Re-Open Forcados Pipeline-Militant to NNPC & SHELL
The Militant have warned the management of NNPC and Shell not to proceed in Re-opening Forcados Pipeline
The group in a statement on Saturday issued by its spokesman, Aldo Agbalaja, said, ‘‘Trans Forcados crude is under force majeure from operator Shell since a militant attack on the subsea pipeline in February and it is due to resume operation this week following the completion of repair works and maintenance.
“We do not have much to say to the oil companies than to just dare them to reopen the Trans-Forcados pipeline. We are aware that you are experts at testing wills, especially as you believe that you have a military shield. Please, go ahead to restart the facility and see what will happen.’’
They also warned the Federal Government not to go ahead with the October 29 meeting with Chief Edwin Clark-led Pan-Niger Delta Dialogue Team, saying the team must not negotiate on its behalf.
According to the militants, the Clark-led Niger Delta leaders lack both the moral right and trust to speak for the region.
Stating that it had nothing personal against members of the team, it added that it would be a grave mistake for the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government to discuss the future of the region with the same group of persons responsible for the “current parlous state of the region.”
It urged the Federal Government to await its list of credible and trusted community leaders, including traditional rulers from the various ethnic groups in the region for the proposed dialogue

In a chat with Sunday Sun reporter, Onwusuaka said: “It was around 7:00am when I discovered stains of blood on the floor and followed the trail to the door of Ogar. I shouted and called our neighbours. We then ran to the police to report what we saw. We started searching for the husband. Female Corpers Robbed and R*ped By Armed Men
It was a sorrowful nightfall for two members of the National Youth Service Corps last Wednesday in Asarama Community, Andoni area of Rivers State, as they were robbed and r*ped by "militants".
The ladies were said to be in bed at their unsecured lodge in an isolated part of the community when the gunmen broke into their rooms.
The operation which started at midnight lasted for more than two hours, with the two female corps members r*ped, and phones, food stuff, clothes, shoes, money among others carted away.
She said the "militants" hinged their actions on the failure of government to pay them their dues.
“The gunmen broke the door with their legs. No burglary proof or protector. We were about seven in the lodge. We had five serving Corps members, one ex-corps member and one other person. They entered my room and I was told to knock on other rooms. They came here with guns and cutlasses.
"They asked all of us out of our rooms and they led all of us into an empty room. Then later they came to ask if we had any male Corps member because the lodge is like a wing. It was the first wing they robbed in the first hour of the operation. In that first wing, we had just one male Corps member; so they took him to the other room and beat him with a cutlass. They asked him to pull his trousers.
"We, the girls were packed in an empty room and they told us to stand up one after the other and they led us to our rooms. Some phones were collected and luckily for some of us, our phones were not with us because we were charging it. I had my phone with me but immediately they came, I hid my phone because they did not come with a torch. It was our torch they were collecting. There has not been light in our lodge since we started serving. We have been using a generator set and we don’t put it on overnight.
"So there was no light and they didn’t come with any source of light. They asked me to put on my torch. They asked us how much we had as they led us to our rooms. As they were doing that, they were beating, slapping and hitting us. They searched the rooms and asked us to bring the money. So I think because I was fidgeting, I told them the amount I didn’t have. The one I had I gave them and they were asking for the remaining one. I was still checking when one of them came in to scatter all my stuff. And I was trying to tell him that was just all I had. They asked me to kneel down and went into other people’s room to do the same thing.
“When he came back into my room, he locked the door and asked me to look for the money, else he would kill me. I told them that I didn’t have any money apart from the one I already gave them.
"Then he (gunmen) asked me to pull my dress, and I was actually r*ped that night. I struggled but he overpowered me. He was beating and slapping me. The marks are still on my body. He was the one who had the gun with him and he had already locked the door on us. One other female Corps member was r*ped in our room too.
"After that, he told me to lie faced down on my bed, then also took some things from my room and left. He told me to lock the door when he left and warned that I shouldn’t open the door for any other person that when he wants to come, he would knock.
"Then I was hearing footsteps; I think they were carrying the food stuff that they saw in other rooms. They went to the other wing where they met two men and a lady and they collected their phones, foods stuff, clothes, shoes, and some plates too. All these lasted for more than two hours. They sounded local and they were saying “since the government did not pay us; no vex o. All these things, na hunger cause am. If government no pay us, then if we get gun, we go find our way.’’
Expatiating further, she said: “There is no police station in that area. And our lodge is bushy, so even if we called for help, no one would have heard us. If you are coming into the community, our lodge is the first house. It was my pastor who took us to a hospital. The hospital is in another community entirely, there is no health facility where our quarters is located.
“The local inspector, local government chairman and some other people visited us in the hospital and took care of our hospital bill. We were adequately treated and given drugs to prevent pregnancy or infection. They told us to leave the place.
“So, the place is under lock now. I feel very bad. It’s very heartbreaking and traumatising but I know God has just been helping me. And with the people around me, I’ve been so encouraged. I know God knows about everything that happened and I know those that did it will not go unpunished.”
Meanwhile, corps members have become apprehensive since the incident, especially the females.

Why We Re-Arrested Fani Kayode=EFCC
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission re-arrested former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode after he stepped out of a court room at Federal High Court Lagos.
According to the EFCC, he would face fresh charges over new evidence that he collected huge cash directly from the embattled former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki.
The EFCC has already slammed a 17-count charge against them for taking the money from the public treasury and retaining same without rendering any verifiable service to the nation.
“There is a fresh case of various sums of money traced to the suspect, which has nothing whatsoever to do with the N4.9 billion case we instituted against him and others in Lagos.
“We arrested Fani-Kayode because we need him to explain to our operatives why he took the money and what he used it for. It is clear from the records before us that he received the money directly from the NSA.
“From the record before us, the suspect signed and collected the sum of N26 million for undisclosed purpose and we want him to explain to us why he took the cash in the first place,” the source said.

The amount allegedly collected by Fani-Kayode
according to a source is different from the N4.9bn which he and ex-Finance Minister, Esther Nenadi Usman, Danjuma Yusuf and a company, Joint Trust Dimension Nig. Ltd., reportedly collected from the ONSA ahead of the presidential election.
