“Whenever I returned from a trip, my last child always told me that men came to pick and drop my wife,My wife starved me of sex for over five years." Man Beg Court to Dissolve His 21 years Old Marriage with his Wife

A pastor, Joshua Ibeneme, on Wednesday approached an Igando Customary Court in Lagos to end his 21-year marriage to his wife, Uzoamaka, for allegedly having sex with two of his church members who are top leaders.

“My wife had sexual affair with two of my church members — a deacon and a bishop. Both were boasting, telling my other members that they slept with my wife because she enticed them.

“Whenever I returned from a trip, my last child always told me that men came to pick and drop my wife. Even God told me to divorce her or else she will destroy my ministry,” he claimed.

The petitioner said that his wife denied him sex for five years.

“My wife starved me of sex for over five years. Whenever I wanted to sleep with her, she would give one excuse or another. In fact, she moved out of my room to a separate room.

“But she gives it to my church members freely,” the pastor said

The 53-year-old pastor said that his wife was always mocking and embarrassing him in public, telling people about his sexual performance.

He said that Uzoamaka always accused him of having affairs with any female church member who came to the house for counselling.

“She accused them of dating me and also went to their houses to fight them. Her behavior and attitude have chased members away from my church,” he said.

According to him, Uzoamaka instigated their children against him, they did not respect him and they refused to run errands for him except when their mother permitted them to do so.

He begged the court to end what he described as “the loveless union,” claiming he was no longer in love with his wife.

However, the respondent, Uzoamaka, denied having sex with their church members but accused her husband of infidelity.

“It is women that cause our frequent fighting; they are the problem in our home and my husband’s lust for them is very high.

“I never slept with the two men who claimed that they slept with me; they just wanted to tarnish my image.

“My husband is dating the wife of the deacon,” she said.

The mother of three said that she starved her husband of sex because she hated sex, adding that she married him because she wanted children.

The 45-year-old teacher said that her husband became sexually inactive five years ago.

“He calls me derogatory names in public such as ‘prostitute.’ I did not instigate the children against him,’’ she explained.

She begged the court not to grant her husband’s wish to dissolve the marriage, claiming she was still in love with him.

The court president, Mr. Akin Akinniyi, urged the couple to maintain peace and adjourned the case to May 10 for judgment.

WHO Reveals 500 Were Poisoned In Syria

Up to 500 people were poisoned in the Syrian gas outrage that killed 43 people including children, the World Health Organisation has revealed.

WHO demanded 'immediate' access to the victims in rebel-held Douma as it revealed the total number of people who reported to hospital showing 'signs and symptoms consistent with exposure to toxic chemicals'.

The atrocity, blamed on Syrian tyrant Bashar al-Assad's forces, has sparked a global outcry with the US and its allies considering taking military action in response.

While the WHO statement did not confirm outright that chemical weapons attack had taken place, it said more than 70 people sheltering in basements have died with 43 of those deaths related to symptoms consistent with exposure to highly toxic chemicals.

We should all be outraged at these horrific reports and images from Douma,' Peter Salama, WHO deputy director-general for emergency preparedness and response, said in a statement issued in Geneva.

'WHO demands immediate unhindered access to the area to provide care to those affected, to assess the health impacts, and to deliver a comprehensive public health response,' he added.

U.N. aid agencies do not have access to most of the enclave of eastern Ghouta, including Douma, where the alleged attack occurred. The Syrian government has denied responsibility.

Australian Jailed For Cancer Scam

An Australian woman who faked having terminal cancer before scamming money from friends of her family has been jailed for three months.

Hanna Dickenson, 24, accepted A$42,000 (£22,000; $31,000) after telling her parents that she needed medical treatment overseas.

Her parents had received donations from their friends, a court was told. It heard Dickenson spent much of the money on holidays and socialising.

A judge called the scam "despicable".

Dickenson had pleaded guilty in the Melbourne Magistrates' Court to seven charges of obtaining property by deception.

In sentencing, magistrate David Starvaggi said Dickenson had "engaged in conduct that tears at the very heartstrings of human nature".

"People's desire to assist and social trust has been breached. These are people who worked hard and dug into their own pockets," he said.

The court was told one person donated A$10,000 to Dickenson after being discharged from hospital following his own cancer treatment. Another person gave money on four separate occasions.

The ruse was uncovered when another donor raised suspicions with police after seeing pictures of Dickenson on Facebook.

Dickenson's lawyer, Beverley Lindsay, argued that her client should be spared jail because she had "turned her life around".

She also compared the deception to one involving an Australian celebrity blogger, Belle Gibson, who was fined A$410,000 last year after falsely claiming to have beaten brain cancer.

Ms Lindsay argued that her client's offending was less severe than Gibson's.

However Mr Starvaggi said the cases were not directly comparable, and that the court needed to deter others from engaging in similar conduct.

Ms Lindsay said her client was likely to appeal the sentence.
