While the country was still discussing the outcome of the meeting between President Buhari some top Niger Delta leaders, to resolve the crisis in the region, a major oil pipeline has been sabotaged.
The attack breached a major crude export line that was commissioned on Monday. An official said the explosion occurred at the line that transfers stored crude oil to vessels for onward export.
No group has claimed responsibility for the explosion at the oil field in Delta, but the Joint Military Task Force, JTF, deployed to the Niger Delta confirmed the Wednesday explosion.
Olaolu Daudu, JTF spokesman code-named “Operation Delta Safe’’ said investigations is ongoing.
He said troops deployed to the area heard an explosion at the Bantan Flow Station run by NPDC, a subsidiary of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC.
“Troops of Operation Delta Safe located at Sector 1, in Delta while on routine patrol heard an explosive sound caused by suspected economic saboteurs at Bantan Flow Station around Ekweregbene, Bantan general area.
“The incident is however, being investigated and details will be made available as events unfold.
“Also, troops of Forward Operation Base, deployed at Bonny in Rivers, while on anti – crude oil theft/ illegal bunkering patrol, discovered two illegal refinery sites along Ogbunku Creek,” he said.
He added that they recovered three 40 horse power outboard engines and three pumping machines.
This may further affect Nigeria’s dwindling foreign earnings which have been blamed for the current recession. Sabotage of oil and gas facilities led to an almost 50 percent reduction of Nigeria’s crude exports and also worsened the electricity situation as gas powered plants could not receive gas
Swiss police arrested an imam at a controversial mosque near Zurich on Wednesday after he allegedly urged followers to kill fellow Muslims who refused to join communal prayers.
In a statement, the prosecutor in Zurich's cantonal government said the imam at the An'Nur de Winterhour mosque, who is an Ethiopian national, had been detained for incitement to violence.
During an October 21 sermon, the imam "called for the assassination of Muslims who refuse to participate in communal prayers in the mosque," the prosecutor's statement said, adding that a criminal probe had been launched.
Three of the imam's followers were also being held and investigated but the prosecutor said it was "unclear" what role they played in the alleged call to violence.
Separately, Zurich police raided the mosque early Monday and arrested three other men -- aged 23 to 35 -- over suspected immigration violations.
Swiss media have reported frequently on the An'Nur mosque, including on suggestions that it has played a part in radicalising young Muslims.
According to the news site 20min.ch, the Ethiopian cleric starting working at the mosque recently, replacing a predecessor who was forced to leave amid accusations that he was preaching extremism.
Swiss media have further reported that the compound's landlords do not intend to extend the mosque's lease, possibly forcing its closure by the end of the year

A man who has been parading himself as a female sex worker and robbing men at night clubs has been arrested in Kenya.
According to reports, the man, who has been referring to himself as ‘Grace’, has been stealing from men in clubs after seducing them.
However, his luck ran out after a man who paid for his services at a local bar had taken the alleged prostitute to a hotel room for fun only to discover the prostitute was not a woman.

A bride and groom wanted something "a bit different" for their wedding album, but this crude snap has landed them in a storm of controversy.
Gareth Ferguson, 29, and his wife, Toni, 26, simulated a sex act in a cheeky shot taken after their nuptials last month. The lovebirds, from Whitehaven, Cumbria, snuck off and giggled their way through their photo session after the main photos were out of the way and guests were seated.
But some people didn't see the humour when the picture was posted online and eventually removed from Facebook after a number of negative comments.
Plans for the saucy sex act simulation snap were kept secret until the couple of four years shared the picture on social media, but the stunt backfired when they were slated online.
Gareth, a bus driver, said:
"The photo was both of our ideas. We wanted to do something a bit different.
Nobody knew about it except the photographer. He found it hilarious when we told him what we wanted before the big day - he loved it.
We were in absolute hysterics. I'm glad you couldn't see her face and I had my back to my camera because we could not stop laughing.
Toni spent ages just staring at the floor giggling like a schoolgirl. I don't think she would have made it through any of the others I wanted to do. That was by far the tamest one."
The couple said everyone close to them had a laugh but the snap, which contains no visible nudity, received nasty comments and messages from strangers when it was posted online.
And the couple believe the image has now been removed from Facebook due to it being reported.

A Russian bride whose father is an oil tycoon has had one of the most lavish weddings of all time after sparing no expense for the fairy tale union.
Madina Shokirova, daughter of oligarch Ilkhom Shokirov, wore a jewel-studded dress made by British designers that was worth nearly £520,000.
Around 900 guests attending the event - including family members, friends and other members of Russia's elite - as Madina tied the knot with a man only identified as Sador.
The fancy wedding reception took place at Moscow's luxurious Radisson Royal Congress Park hotel, which features an opulent £4,500-a-night presidential suite.
Madina - whose new husband is reportedly related to Uzbekistan's president - looked stunning in a haute couture dress by British fashion house Ralph & Russo.
The bride chose the less prominent brand, dismissing a wedding gown from one of the leading haute couture houses of Zuhair Murad.
The gorgeous layered lacy gown was decorated with silver embroidery, organza petals, and hundreds of pearls and Swarovski crystals.
The wedding organisers also wowed everyone present with a giant nine-tier cake - around 10ft tall - made by celebrity cake maker and former boxer Renat Agzamov.
The room was decorated with fresh flowers and the bride's father reportedly spent nearly £386,000 on entertainment alone.
Prior the wedding, Madina spent her hen party at the Spanish resort town of Marbella.
She flew in with her girlfriends on a private jet and they partied in the sun on an expensive yacht.
Despite the bride’s family trying to stay out of the media spotlight, it was reported that Ilkhom Shokirov is the owner of the most luxurious hotel located in the capital city of Tashkent in north-eastern Uzbekistan.
In addition, he owns 65 per cent of the shares in one of the largest shopping centres called Demir in Uzbekistan and a couple of hotels in western Russia’s Moscow region.
The media personality shared a photo of her lying on a hospital bed with an inspiring message as she counts down to her birthday. Read after the cut...
"This week has been a real struggle. Been in and out of hospital and it's my birthday week. So emotional but I bless God in everything. I have learnt not to take my body for granted. As @kemiadetiba told me yesterday "of what use is the hustle if we are not here to enjoy it". As I reflect on that statement I hope someone out there takes a moment to breathe, we all want to be successful, we want to do more and more and more but life is fragile and the real wealth is health.

The incident happened along the Murtala Mohammed highway in Calabara at about 3pm.
A source said, “Mrs. Suleiman Offiong was going to deposit money into the bank when she was attacked on the highway in broad daylight.
"No security personnel came to her rescue when the incident happened for almost 10 minutes. There had been series of robbery attacks recently in Calabar. The situation is becoming alarming and we have police everywhere and yet nothing is happening.”
Police Public Relation Officer in charge of the command, Irene Ugbo, said no arrests had been made, but added that the matters were being investigated.
The Lagos State Police Command has arrested 17 policemen for acts of misconduct, including taking bribes.
It was learnt that the policemen, who were arrested between October 6 and 28, 2016, were undergoing an orderly room trial.
This is just as 26 armed robbery suspects and 18 suspected kidnappers were also rounded up by the police during the same period.
A source told Punch that some of the arrested policemen risked dismissal, while others could be demoted.
The state Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, confirmed the arrest, adding that residents of the state should not hesitate to report erring officers to the command.
He said, “A total number of 17 policemen were arrested in different areas of the state for misconduct. The necessary disciplinary measures are being taken against them.
“The command is alive to its responsibilities. We have zero tolerance for crime. Also, a total of 26 armed robbery suspects and 18 suspected kidnappers were arrested by the command. We recovered two AK-47 rifles, 14 locally-made pistols and 193 live cartridges from them.
“In the different police operations, 17 vehicles were recovered from criminal elements, while 11 mobile phones were also recovered.”
The Imo State Police Command has paraded over 40 suspects allegedly involved in various crimes ranging from kidnapping, robbery, murder, unlawful possession of fire arms and cultism.
A member of the National Youth Service corps, NYSC, serving in Oyo State, who gave his name as Ogbonna Godwin, said he came to collect his transcript from Federal University of Technology, Owerri, before he was nabbed for armed robbery.
“I was with my friends and they said I should go somewhere with them. When we got there, it was robbery they took me to participate in. They all ran away but I was caught by the police,” he said.
Police sources say they are on the trail of others.
Mariah Carey has demanded $50 million from ex-fiance James Packer because that is the amount she would have walked away with had they signed their prenup.
According to TMZ, they have just seen an email chain from back in mid-February going back and forth, from Mariah's team to Packer's. The billionaire was clearly itching to tie the knot with Mariah, and was upset that his people were not moving fast enough to nail down the prenup so he could marry
her on March 1st in Bora Bora.
Read their report below:
Packer's lawyers clearly felt the prenup was complicated, sending Mariah's team a 100 page document outlining the specifics. The details in the document are fascinating. Among the many conditions ... if Packer gave Mariah a piece of jewelry or anything else, she would have to give it back if they broke up UNLESS he sent her a signed note saying it was a gift.
The prenup draft also provided that Mariah would get $50 mil if they broke up. TMZ broke the story, that's exactly the amount she's demanding from him now.
Short story ... Packer's lawyers were telling him they could not get the prenup signed, sealed and delivered by March 1st. His response ... "I don't know who's working for who because there are a lot of names I haven't heard before on this email chain. The people who work for me -- message -- do as I say or f*** off. I want to get married on March 1st. James."
We're told at the time of the email chain, Mariah already had a dress, the flowers were ordered and all the flights for the guests were secured.
BTW ... there was no way they could marry, because Nick Cannon hadn't signed the divorce docs. Mariah and James knew this, but they were going to call the wedding a "commitment ceremony" and pass themselves off as husband and wife.
The prenup was never signed, and Mariah believes that's when his people started trying to tear them apart.
Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton has stepped up her attacks on rival Donald Trump, labelling him a "bully" for criticising women for their looks.
Mrs Clinton said Mr Trump had a 30-year history of "demeaning, degrading, insulting and assaulting" women.
Meanwhile, Mr Trump has branded Mrs Clinton "corrupt" and said she would "destroy American healthcare forever".
He told early Clinton voters with "buyer's remorse" they could change their vote in four states.
The clashes came as the fractious contest entered its final week, with opinion polls appearing to show the race getting tighter.
The prospect of a Trump presidency sent Asian financial markets tumbling - appearing to confirm some analysts' view that the markets believe a Clinton victory would bring more stability for the US economy.
Speaking in Florida - and appearing on stage with former Miss Universe Alicia Machado, who has previously claimed Mr Trump once called her "Miss Piggy" after she put on weight - Mrs Clinton said she had "learned way back in elementary school that it's not OK to insult people".
For her part, Ms Machado called Mr Trump "cruel" and said she had spent years "sick, fighting back eating disorders" as a result of the Republican nominee's comments.
Echoing Mrs Clinton's comments at a rally in Ohio, President Barack Obama said the Republican candidate had spent a "lifetime calling women pigs and dogs and slobs".
The focus on Mr Trump's treatment of women coincided with a new TV advert put out by the Democrats which showed archive footage of Mr Trump making remarks such as: "Putting a wife to work is a very dangerous thing."
The Republican nominee has faced a string of sexual harassment allegations in the last month, after a 2005 video tape that saw him making obscene remarks about women emerged.
He has denied any wrongdoing and threatened to sue those involved after the election

29-year-old Blac Chyna is currently expecting a baby girl with fiance Rob Kardashian and the pair could make "hundreds of thousands of dollars" by allowing cameras into the delivery room.
According to TMZ, Rob and Chyna are in talks for a baby special of their reality show, which will include footage of the birth, Chyna’s baby shower and the run up to the birth. It will also document the first few days of their daughter’s life.
It also claims Chyna – who already has a son, King Cairo, by ex Tyga, who is now dating Rob’s younger sister Kylie Jenner – is deciding whether to let cameras get really intimate footage of the birth.
The Kardashians are no strangers to giving birth in front of the cameras as Rob’s older sister Kourtney, gave birth to two of her children, Mason, six, and Penelope, four, for ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’.
Police operatives attached to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Obehie in Abia State have arrested a policeman identified as Sergeant Matthew Elah for allegedly snatching a motorcycle from its owner at gunpoint.
It was gathered that Sgt. Elah, attached to Department of Operations in Port Harcourt, Rivers State Police Command, allegedly committed the crime at Umuteke, Akwette in Ukwa West area with one Sergeant Isah Alhaji attached to 48 PMF, Ahoada, now at large.
In his confessional statement, the suspect said Sgt. Alhaji had asked him to accompany him for an operation without giving the details to him.
He said, “Sergeant Alhaji came to my house at Obehie and asked me accompany him to see somebody, but I saw him with a gun and asked him where he got the gun from and he told me that he got it from armed robbers who were arrested for snatching a motorcycle.
“So, he stopped one motorcyclist, who carried the two of us, but along the way, he asked the man to stop and help him to open one gate while I was holding the gun for him. But he later climbed the bike and zoomed off.”
The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Adeleye Oyebade, who paraded the suspect at the headquarters in Umuahia, said efforts are on to arrest the fleeing sergeant and recover the stolen motorcycle.
A Ghanaian, John Kojo, 22 has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly supplying a locally-made pistol to a suspected robber in the Morogbo, Badagry area of the state.
Kojo was arrested on Saturday when a robbery suspect, Banhusa Abujuny, identified the Ghanaian as the owner of the gun he (Abujuny) allegedly used for robbery.
The duo was being detained by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Ikeja. The police said the gun was “stolen from another robbery gang.”
Punch Metro reports that on Friday, October 7, some armed robbers came to Kojo’s area in Morogbo and unleashed terror on the residents.
Some residents put distress calls across to the police, while some vigilance group members mobilised against the robbers. As the robbers fled, they abandoned the pistol, while Kojo, who was reportedly around the scene, picked and hid the weapon.
According to the police, Kojo later gave the gun to Abujuny to rob. Kojo, however, said that he hid the gun abandoned by the robbers, adding that he was afraid to turn it in to the police. The Ghanaian said he was not aware that his friend, Abujuny, took the gun from his house.
He said, “I got the gun after the robbers, who attacked Oko Afo, fled. The robbers came to our area and were moving from house to house. Some residents confronted them and they fled. I was one of those who chased the robbers.
“As they fled, they left one of the guns by the roadside and I picked it. I brought the gun home and hid it. I did not give the weapon to the police because I was afraid. I did not show the gun to anyone. Abujuny is my friend. He did not tell me that he had taken the gun. I was at home last week Saturday when SARS officers came and arrested me.”
Abujuny, who said he had not robbed with the gun, stated that he was arrested during a street fight in the Alaba Market, Ojo.
He said, “I had yet to rob with the gun. There was a fight in the Alaba Market on Friday and I threatened someone with the gun.”
The state Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, said the suspects would be charged to court at the end of investigation
A new report has surfaced online detailing how Lilian Esoro and Ubi Franklin's marital crisis started. Kindly read the full report below:
-Via @misspetitenigeria
.
. 👂💔💑💍 My latest dirt is on music exec, #UbiFranklin and actress, #LilianEsoro 's one year old marriage .In 2015 I posted dirt on their engagement at the time (here)... Well, two months ago, I heard from authoritative sources that their #marriage has crashed and Lilian had ended the marriage. I felt it was just an issue of adjusting to a new life, which sometimes comes with motherhood.
Besides, some new mums suffer from #Postpartumdepression which can make them take out their frustration on their spouses. It's been almost four months and the couple is doing little to quell the speculations..Well, let's just say Lilian is making it quite obvious.
#Misspetitenaija can authoritatively report that Lilian walked out on her marriage immediately their son,Jaden was born and is adamant not to return. Their issues reportedly stem from #infidelity to domestic abuse .
If you recall, their relationship has always been rocky from the moment he proposed to her .Lilian rejected the #proposal and was literally begged to accept him. He even flew all the way to the USA to win her back .
This was because she was not expecting a proposal in such a short time and besides, she was inlove with an #actor who is now married so won't mention his name .
When she realized the actor had moved on to the new lady he is now married to, she heeded to friends advice and accepted Ubi.Her family also cajoled her to marry him as he was quite generous to them .
Even after accepting his proposal, they split once again and he begged her yet again before she finally agreed and got married .
In a year of marriage, they have welcomed a son and this has sparked reports she must have gotten pregnant before their marriage was official .
At the moment, Lilian has moved out of their house and is finding comfort in her family who are in support of her decision .Meanwhile, Ubi is doing all he can to win her back.He has also tried to keep their situation under wraps.
As if to add fuel to the fire, Lilian totally ignored the launch of Ubi's new lounge last week .She did not make reference to
chinnysblogShe did not make reference to it,promote it neither did she attend it.Rumour has it, he opened it to win her back.
To crown it all, today being their anniversary, she totally ignored it on social media and to pass a message across , instead uploaded a photo with her sisters.
After Ubi waited for hours , he decided to celebrate their one year anniversary with this photo collage and loving words to her.
1 year ago I married my lovely wife Lilian who is God Fearing lady and Super mom to our beautiful son "Jayden". My love for you both knows no boundaries and I will always find this event to be the happiest moment in my life. Through the good times and challenging times, our union would only continue to grow from strength to strength. Love you lots! Ubi. Onise iyanu 🙏🏾
One thing is clear, he loves her and wants her to stay ..Let's hope they work things out and find a level ground
