Notorious Kidnapper King Solomon Arrested In Lagos

A kidnap kingpin popularly called King Solomon, alleged to have been responsible for the abduction of several residents of Festac Town in Amuwo Odofin area of Lagos and environs, has been arrested by police in Lagos.

One of his victims, as gathered, included the female Customs Officer attached to Tin Can Command SDV, a bonded terminal of the Nigeria Customs Service, who was abducted in the presence of her two daughters at an eatery on 22 Road, Festac Town, last December.

Other victims include a pastor of a Pentecostal Church in Festac, identified simply as Pastor Nwachukwu, and two traders at Trade Fair.

The suspect, whose real name is Chukwudi Solomon, used his apartment on 46 Canal View Road as a den, where abducted victims were kept.

Vanguard gathered that he was traced by undercover policemen from Festac Division, led by the Divisional Police Officer, Chief Superintendent Olukole Oladeinde, Tuesday night.

On noticing police presence, Solomon, as gathered, attempted to stab the DPO, but was overpowered.
Three suspected members of his gang, who also attempted to prevent his arrest, were apprehended by policemen, who had cordoned off the building, while two abducted victims were rescued.

During interrogation, the suspect revealed that some of his members, who had gone on a kidnap operation, were coming with a victim yesterday morning.

Police sources further hinted that the suspect had several boys under his control, with members of other kidnap gangs bringing abducted persons to his apartment.

Confirming the incident, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Police Command, Fatai Owoseni, said: “Police undercover agents have been working on information about this suspect.

“One of the victims rescued was traced to his house, which served as haven for criminal activities and den where kidnapped victims around Festac Town are kept.”

Nigerian man arrested in the U.S for masturbating in front of women in parking lot

A 22-year-old Nigerian man, admitted to police he exposed himself to at least three women in a Shopko parking lot at 55 Lake Boulevard in Redding.
Kawan Okoye Gaidowsky admitted to the Redding Police Department he was driving a gray, 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt when he pulled up next to a woman in the Shopko parking lot, pulled out his penis and began to masturbate on Wednesday morning around 8:42 a.m., police said.


The woman, Ashlee Libolt, reported the car's description and license plate to police.
 A police officer checked the car's records and found it was registered to Gaidowsky. He was feeling extra generous when he was interviewed by police and admitted he did expose himself to Libolt in the parking lot, but also exposed himself to two other female victims who were caught in his exposure spree, police said.

One exposure was last month and the other was not reported, according to Sgt. Les James.

Gaidowsky was arrested for investigation of indecent exposure and booked at the Shasta County Jail.

Police say there may be more victims, because Gaidowsky admitted this isn't the first time he's exposed himself in public

Court orders ex-Naval chief Admiral Ezeoba to forfeit N1.8bn to Nigeria

Justice Muslim Hassan of the Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the temporary forfeiture of the sum of N1.825bn found in the bank accounts of a company, Acquila Leasing Limited.

EFCC, which obtained the forfeiture order on behalf of Federal Government, said that the N1.825b was part of N2.387bn allegedly diverted from the coffers of Nigerian Navy by a former Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Dele Ezeoba (retd.), who headed the navy between 2012 and 2014.

An EFCC prosecutor, Rotimi Oyedepo, took an ex parte application, filed pursuant to Section 17 of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Related Offences Act of the 1999 Constitution, before Justice Hassan on Wednesday to obtain the temporary forfeiture order.

He urged the judge to urgently grant the forfeiture order in the interest of justice.

The judge granted the order and gave 14 days for the first respondent, Acquila Leasing Limited; the second respondent, Chwuka Onwuchekwa; and any other party interested in the money to appear before him to give reasons why the funds should not be permanently forfeited to Nigeria.

Hassan adjourned till March 29, 2017 for all the interested parties to appear before him.

And if nobody comes forward, like the Billions linked to Madam Diezani and some bank chiefs, it's going straight to Nigeria's account to serve all Nigerians.

Brilla Oil Boss Rowaye Jubril, sent to 10yrs in prison... to refund N963m

A Lagos State High Court in Ikeja on Thursday convicted an oil marketer, Rowaye Jubril, and his company, Brila Energy Limited, of a fuel subsidy scam of N963.7million.

Justice Lateefa Okunnu, in a judgment on Thursday, sentenced Jubril to a jail term of 10 years.

She said the jail term would commence from Thursday, the day of the judgement.

The judge also ordered the convicts to make restitution to the Federal Government by refunding the N963.7m, which they fraudulently obtained as subsidy on the false claim that they imported 13,500 metric tonnes of Premium Motor Spirit into the country.

The convicts had fraudulently obtained the money under the Federal Government’s Petroleum Support Fund between October 2010 and May 2012.

After uncovering the fraud, the EFCC dragged the oil marketer and his company to court on November 2012 and arraigned them on 13 counts bordering on conspiracy, obtaining money by false pretences, forgery and use of false documents.

The anti-graft agency had told the judge that Jubril and his company acted contrary to Section 1(3) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act of 2006.

They were also said to have contravened sections 467 and 468 of the Criminal Code Laws of Lagos State 2003.

In her judgment on Thursday, Justice Okunnu found the oil marketer and his company guilty as charged by the prosecution.

The judge sentenced them to 10 years jail term on count one.

She sentenced them to eight years imprisonment on each of counts two to 13.

She held that the sentences would run concurrently, hence he would spend 10 years in prison.

The conviction and sentencing of Jubril and his company came barely two months after Justice Okunnu convicted the Managing Director of Ontario Oil and Gas Limited, Mrs. Ada Ugo-Ngali, and sentenced her to a jail term of 10 years for a fuel subsidy fraud of N754m.

Also convicted were the Chairman of Ontario Oil and Gas Limited, Walter Wagbatsoma.

Police Called To Justin Bieber's Mansion In Sydney As Fans Threaten To Break In

He's the pop star with an extremely devoted fan base currently touring Australia. And Justin Bieber's Sydney supporters showed they're among his most eager in the world on Thursday night when they mobbed his rented mansion in Mosman, with some even threatening to break in.

Police were called to remove the devotees surrounding the rental property in hopes of catching a glimpse of their idol, who was enjoying low-key drinks at a nearby pub.

A significant number of officers were called to Justin's rented mansion in the affluent suburb of Mosman following complaints from neighbouring homes.

Large groups of fans had gathered outside the luxury house, allegedly trying to get in. They were told to move on before the singer arrived back at the property.

While the police were handling the dedicated fans, the Canadian-born singer enjoyed drinks nearby at The Stoned Crow pub and then the Crows Nest Hotel.

Scores of young fans were spotted outside the mansion and treated to special doughnuts made by popular local chain Doughnut Time.

The teenagers, mostly young women, were all smiles as they posed in front of the rental property for photos with their limited edition 'Justin Time' treats.

Police managed to clear the crowds while Justin, his Hillsong pastor Carl Lentz, actor and model Patrick Schwarzenegger and friends hung out nearby before he finally returned.

Lagos Wants Quuens College Shut Down Indefinitely, As Ministry Confirms Water Is Polluted

The Lagos State Government has advised that the Queen’s College, Yaba, be shut down indefinitely for a proper treatment of the water system in the school.

The state Ministry of Health said results from samples taken from water sources in the school showed that the water was “polluted,” adding that the school’s food handlers were also culpable.

This is just as some parents have threatened to take legal action against the school, saying someone must be held responsible for the two deaths in the college.

Punch Metro had reported that no fewer than 50 boarding pupils of the school were admitted in the school’s sickbay after eating spaghetti and drinking water in the refectory.

Parents and pupils told a Punch correspondent that two pupils of the school –Vivian Osuiniyi and Bithia Itulua–who were in Junior Secondary School two and three respectively, died as a result of the epidemic.

The school’s principal, Dr Lami Amodu, was later transferred to another school in Edo State.

The school had been shut for the past two weeks to enable a health team to conduct adequate investigation into the incident.

It was learnt that the pupils were to resume on Sunday, March 19, when the Lagos State Government issued a statement recommending an indefinite closure of the school.

The  state Commissioner for Health, Dr Jide Idris, who addressed the press on Thursday, stated that health records from the school’s sickbay indicated that the date of illness was January 16, 2017, adding that a total of 1,222 pupils presented themselves at the school’s clinic on account of abdominal pain, fever, vomiting and diarrhoea.

He noted that 16 pupils were admitted in various hospitals, adding that nine had been discharged, two dead, while one was still on admission at the Intensive Care Unit of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, and three in Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi Araba.

The statement from the ministry read, “According to the commissioner, the recommendation (for suspension of resumption) is necessary to ensure that all the sources of contaminants in the school, which had been causing the death of students, are properly handled.

“Idris said the source of the problem is the contaminated water. Water samples from six sources on the school premises were collected and analysed at the Drug Quality Control Laboratory of the Lagos State Ministry of Health in the Lagos  State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja.

“Other  water samples from 10 sources were also collected and analysed at the Microbiology Department of LUTH, Idi-Araba. The results from the two laboratories showed high bacterial content in the water samples from the kitchen behind the dining hall and Queen’s Delight, the school’s water factory. The bacteria range from Coliforms, Escherichia Coli, Salmonella, Klebsiella ozoana and Aeromonas hydrophila.

“Specimens collected from 40 kitchen workers revealed that cysts of Entamoeba histolytica were isolated in the stool of 23 food handlers; Salmonella Paratyphi, the causative agent of Typhoid Fever, was also isolated from three food handlers.

“All these together imply a common source outbreak, showing repeated or continuous infection from exposure to the infectious agent. Findings from the investigations were consistent with Enteric Fever. The infection was most likely spread through contaminated water sources and infection by food handlers.”

Some parents called for a sanction of the school’s management for failing to prevent the outbreak.

A parent, whose daughter fell ill during the midterm break, said parents might take legal action against the school.

He said he had spent about N70,000 on the treatment of his daughter, who is in Senior Secondary School two.

He said, “My daughter took ill two days after she came back from the school; she had acute typhoid. I have spent about N70,000 on her.

“The government cannot afford to play the ostrich. If they don’t secure the children’s source of water, the death toll may rise. And we don’t even know how many have lost their lives during this break. My daughter is still on the edge as I speak.”

Father Arrested For Sleeping With His Teenage Daughters

A 42-year-old plumber, Idowu Lasisi, has been arrested by the police in Lagos State for allegedly molesting two of his daughters s*xually.

The victims are a 15-year-old Senior Secondary School 1 pupil and a 19-year-old. The girls lived with their father in the Ketu area of the state.

Sometime in 2015, Lasisi allegedly r*ped the elder sister, who fled home after the incident.

The mother was also said to have separated with the plumber because of the incident and relocated, leaving the pupil and her 10-year-old sister in Lasisi’s care.

Lasisi, who was arrested on Wednesday after the victim raised the alarm, started having s*x with the pupil last year.

A police source at the Lagos State Police Command, where the suspect was transferred to, disclosed to Punch that the victim said Lasisi gave her N500 each time he had s*x with her.

“The girl is currently at the Mirabel Centre for medical tests. She said her father had had s*x with her three times and that she tried to resist it. He gave her N500 each time he had s*x with her.

“Her mother fled home two years ago when he r*ped the girl’s elder sister. The whereabouts of the other victim had yet to be known.

“But the suspect is still denying that he r*ped them even though his daughter insisted he did.”

Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, on Thursday at the command’s headquarters in Ikeja, confirmed Lasisi’s arrest, adding that the two cases were being investigated.

“The suspect was arrested for defiling his daughters. The elder one ran away and he continued to serially molest the younger one. The suspect will be paraded after the completion of investigation.”
