The only solution to our problems in Nigeria today is religion-Gordons

Veteran Comedian, Godwin Komone, AKA as Gordons, has said that he will be the happiest person in the world if the federal government place a ban on giving of tithes and offerings. According to him, with that, Nigerians will know clerics who were truly called by God.
According to DailyPost, the comic merchant gave this advise in his latest comedy collection entitled ‘Comedy Clinic.’ The Delta-State comedian believes that the many problems currently facing Nigeria today boils down to religion.

“The only solution to our problems in Nigeria today is religion.
I will be the happiest person in the world if the federal government place a ban on giving of tithes and offerings from churches.
I tell, we will continue to lament as long as these people keep collecting the little one we have in the name of offering.
By the time tithes and offerings is declared illegal, then we will know those who were called by God and those who called themselves in the ministry.
I tell you, some people actually saw miss call and not calling into church ministry,” Gordons added.

Meet The Man With The Longest beards...Epic

Fuzzy faced Michael Legge has retained his title for the country’s longest beard at the British Beard and Moustache Championships in Liverpool.
Factory worker Michael, from Kimberworth, Rotherham, started growing his beard six years ago and it now measures 27 inches. Joked the father of two: “If I’m going out I can easily take longer than the wife to get ready because I have to wash, dry and oil my beard.”

Michael has been crowned Yorkshire beard champ several times and first won the UK's longest bear competition back in 2014.

He has even managed to bag seventh place in the international competition.
Michael has previously said he only started growing his beard as a bet with his mates.

He added:

"It was a bet with some mates to see who could go longest without shaving and one by one they all dropped out. I had no idea where it would lead.
The next step I’d like to take is to make it a career. I know I’m not going to be the next Brad Pitt, but there’s demand for background roles. It’s a niche market.”

Checkout How Angry Okada Man beat Wife Mercilessly For Waking Him Up From His Siesta

A 30-year- old, commercial motorcyclist, Tukur Paul today beat his wife, Mrs Jennifer Paul to stupor over her accusation of snoring.

It was the intervention by neighbours and passers-by that saved her from further attack. One of the neigbhours Lawrence Oluwanishola, who witnessed the fight, told NAN that the couple who resides at Masaka, Nasarawa State, were fond of constituting nuisance to the environment through constant query.

According to him, it all started at about 9 p.m. on Thursday when neighbours ran outside at the shout of the wife who was seriously beaten by her husband. “How on earth in this present modern world will a man beat up his wife over trivial issue?

It was learnt that the wife prevented the husband from sleeping just because he was snoring,” Oluwanishola said.

He said that so many cases of divorce in the society could be prevented, if minor issues like this are promptly settled by couples. “This is not a case of extra-marital affairs that usually lead to divorce, but a mere misunderstanding that could be controlled with little patience,’’ he said.

However, when NAN spoke with the husband, he said his wife prompted him to beat her after several warnings.

“She prevented me from sleeping after having a hard day, I pleaded with her but refused,” he said.

Paul said having gone through a hectic day, that he decided to have some rest but was prevented by his wife because he was snoring.

“What happened, I will say is the devils handiwork? I lost my motor bike which has been helping me to fend for the family.

“I immediately contacted the police who was able to help me get it back. I brought it back home and all these while my wife could not call to know where I was. I got home only for me to have some rest and after dozing off; my wife woke me up to tell me I was disturbing her with my snoring,” he said.

Paul who later apologised to his wife thanked the neighbours for the brotherly love they have extended to his family.

The wife said the incident was due to communication gap, which was misinterpreted. “I was angry because my  husband left me and the children without telling us where he went. "

The couple had been living together for past nine years and the union is blessed with three children

Freeze shares inspiring message of what he did during his first 6 months of work

Cool FM presenter, OAP Freeze shared the story of what he was doing during his first 6 months of working in a radio station in the 1990s.

The message he shared was triggered by a Twitter user who wanted to do an internship with him. Read after the cut...

I gave him an impossible task, but I love his spirit so please encourage him by helping him retweet so he can make the 10,000 retweets.
He has to earn it, most people don't understand what it takes to be a broadcaster, I have heard "is it not to talk on the radio?" It takes a whole lot more. For my first 6 months on air, all I did was "o'clock" six hours a day, five days a week on an AM station.
When it's 6pm for instance, the main presenter would say 'it's 6' and I would say "o'clock" that was all I was required to say for an hour, then again at 7pm he would say, it's 7 and I will say "o'clock", repeating this every hour, never saying a single word more till my shift for the day ended.
Was I sitting idle for the remaining 59 minutes 56 seconds? Of course not!!! I was buying zobo and buns, photocopying stuff and going to and from the news room running office errands, awaiting my next stint on the radio, where my services were needed to say "o'clock".
This was all I did for 6 months, in the 1990s before I was considered fit for the radio. Since we are in the social media era, let him say his "o'clock" via Twitter and earn his internship

EFCC Hunt Senior Lawyers For Bribing Judges

There is palpable tension within Nigeria’s legal profession as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Thursday grilled some elite lawyers alleged to have transferred huge sums of money to the bank accounts of some judges.

A source close to the EFCC identified the Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SAN), who answered an invitation to the EFCC Office in Ikoyi, Lagos, in the morning. There names are:

Paul Usoro and Chief Gabi Adetola-Kaseem, as well as Chief Felix Fagbohungbe.

The invitations by EFCC are a sequel to the recent interrogation of two Federal High Court judges: Agbadu James Fishim and Uwani Abba Aji, and one judge of the Industrial Court.

The source said that the commission had also invited another senior lawyer, Adeniyi Akintola, but he did not show up. When SR reached Chief Akintola by phone, he denied receiving any invitation from the EFCC, and claimed he had just met with the Attorney General of the Federation in Abuja.

Chief Akintola was said to be in Abuja to defend a judge before the National Judicial Council (NJC) following a petition by a litigant. It is unclear whether his meeting with the Attorney General has anything to do with any judge in trouble.

Our source said the EFCC chairman was shocked that prominent senior lawyers who have an official relationship with the EFCC may also be involved in corruption within the judiciary.

The source stated that the leadership of EFCC may have opted to invite the senior lawyers following suggestions that the commission was planning to cover-up their illegal activities to preserve their working relationship.

Up to 30 senior lawyers are under probe for bribing judges according to an EFCC source.

Most of the the SANs under investigations have mansions and questionable bank accounts.

The source said: "We have discovered that corruption in the judiciary is widespread. Some SANs who have assisted the EFCC in handling some of our cases in the past are involved. Some of these lawyers had assisted us with useful legal opinions on several matters. So, we are in a dilemma.

Buhari To Launch $10billion Niger Delta Reconstruction Fund

The President Muhammadu Buhari-led government plans a $10 billion infrastructure development fund for the oil-rich but restive Niger Delta, the Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, said yesterday in Abuja.

“We are launching $10bn infrastructural rebirth investment programmes in the Niger Delta region. This is not money that is going to come strictly from the federal government.

"It is going to come from investors, individuals who are ready to do private sector infrastructure, obviously states and federal governments as the case may be and international organisations who have shown interest to help,” he said at the unveiling of the Roadmap for the Petroleum Industry tagged '7 Big Wins to Grow Nigeria’s Oil and Gas'.

Before Kachikwu’s revelation of the mouth-watering goodies for theNiger Delta region, Buhari had, while launching the roadmap, said notwithstanding his administration’s much talked about diversification as the main tool for putting the economy on the path of sustainable growth, Nigeria would have to depend on oil and gas revenue to get out of the current economic recession, contending that despite the fall in oil price, oil and gas resources remained the most immediate and practical keys out of the country’s present economic crisis.

“As important as it is to ensure that agriculture, solid minerals and other critical sectors of the economy are supported to grow and contribute more to the nation’s economy, we still need a virile and efficient oil and gas industry to take care of our foreign exchange requirements,” he said.

According to him, an efficient oil and gas sector remains a national imperative and a core thrust of his economic policy, adding that the petroleum industry remained critical to the Nigerian economy of today and the future, despite current challenges.

He also admitted that oil and gas still remained a critical enabler for the successful implementation of his budget as well as the source of funds for laying a strong foundation for a diversified economy.

Mr president said the task before the Ministry of Petroleum Resources is to maximise the potentials and opportunities across the whole range of the oil and gas industry to stimulate the economy in spite of the current challenges.

He said: “There is also a dire need to instil a new culture of transparency and efficiency in the industry, streamline operations along best practices by championing and implementing strategic reforms at every layer of the industry.

“This will help us improve oil and gas production, explore our frontier basins, improve our local refining capacity and above all build sustainable partnerships with the oil producing communities.”

He told reporters a short time after he was released from jail on $20,000 bail, that he did it to show support for women who have accused Trump of groping them.

'He's a serial liar and misogynist and that's why we're here: to try to address that and help those women who told Mr. Trump they won't stand for it anymore,' Otis said.

Checkout The F ull List Of Soldiers, Police, others arrested for collaborating with Boko Haram

An exclusive list has been released of 30 people arrested by Nigerian military for allegedly helping the killer Boko Haram sect to sell rustled cows.

The arrested persons include at least four serving soldiers, two police officers, and some members of the civilian-JTF, who should be helping to fight Hoko Haram. Talk of deadly insiders...

The Theatre Commander of the Operation Lafiya Dole, Lucky Irabor, had confirmed the arrest of the 30 people at a press conference in Maiduguri on Wednesday.

According to General Irabor, “those who have been aiding and abetting Boko Haram by way of encouraging cattle rustling ; so far we have arrested 30 of them, many are civilians and we have among them four soldiers and two policemen. They are being investigated and the outcome of the investigation will be brought to your notice.”

What Mr. Irabor, a major general, did not say was that the Boko Haram rustled the cows in the territory they still hold and sneaked them into Maiduguri, the Borno capital, to sell and buy other goods.

The military has since suspected that the insurgents are able to do this and raise fund for their cause based on the active connivance of security operatives and relevant civilians. Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 30 people.

The four soldiers arrested include Captain A. A. Hussaini, the operations officer of 195 Battalion in charge of Mafa Local Government Area where Boko Haram still control some areas. The council is a major route into Maiduguri from the North and East.

Another suspect is Lieutenant I. H. Irro, a liaison with 152 Task Force battalion. The other two junior officers are Staff Sergeant Alexander Chiegwe, the guard commander of the main check point from Mafa into Maiduguri, and Lance Corporal Yakpon Dona.
The policemen arrested are Usman Mohammed and Stephen Odoh.

The suspects also include three members of the Civilian-JTF. They are Babakkura Ali, chairman of Kasuwan Shanu branch; Bashir Abbas, the chairman of Sector 2 and Modu 2Star, a member from Mafa town.

The arrested civilians include members of the Livestock Traders Association, some herdsmen and a representative of the Shehu of Borno.

All the suspects are accused of being involved in castle rustling.

Top members of the Civilian-JTF who spoke to PT confirmed the arrest of their colleagues. They said they do not have the full details of their arrest.

In the past year, kidnapping and cattle rustling have become another major security threat, aside Boko Haram insurgency which the Nigerian Army has been tackling.

Nearly a hundred kidnappers and cattle rustlers were either killed in shootouts or arrested by soldiers. Over a thousand cows rustled from herdsmen were also recovered.

Fulani herdsmen, accused of attacking communities using assault rifles, have complained that some of them resort to using guns like AK47 to defend themselves because cattle rustlers use similar weapons to attack them and steal their livestock.

The rustling of cattle has since become a major source of revenue for Boko Haram whose activities since 2009 have caused the death of over 20,000 people and displaced millions of others.

See Why Governor Ambode Sacked Commissioners

                      Image result for ambode

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos last Wednesday caused a rumble within the state Executive Council when he relieved Commissioners for Tourism, Mr. Folorunsho Folarin-Coker, Finance, Dr. Mustapha Akinkunmi, and Transportation, Dr. Ekundayo Mobereola of their appointments in a minor cabinet reshuffle.

The reshuffle came exactly a year after Governor Ambode constituted his Council, precisely on October 19, 2015. The sack, according to sources, could not be unconnected with poor performance, misdemeanour and inability to key into the goals, vision and mission of his administration.

Acting capacity
Vanguard reports that on September 19, 2016, Ambode sacked quite a number of heads of parastatals and agencies. Notable among them was General Manager, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Mr. Michael Akindele who was replaced immediately with Mr. Tiamiyu Muyiwa Adesina in an acting capacity.

Also, on March 14, 2016, following the collapse of a five storey building under construction at Lekki Gardens, Kusenla Road, Ikate Elegushi, in Eti-Osa area, Ambode sacked the General Manager of the state Building Control Agency, LASBCA, Engr. Adeigbe Olushola.

The governor also sacked the Head of Inspection and Quality Control in the Agency, Adeoye Thomas Adeyemi, the Zonal District Officer in the Agency, Dosunmu Gbadebo, while the Zonal Head of Eti-Osa West of the Agency, Mrs. Akinde Adenike Sherifat was compulsorily retired from the service.

Ambode, in a statement through the Head of Service, Mrs. Olabowale Ademola, said the affected officers were dismissed having been indicted of negligence, which according to the governor is an act of misconduct under the Public Service Rule 040401.

Reasons for the sack
Sequel to the eventual sack, facts emerged that the affected commissioners were reprimanded by Ambode on the need to raise their game on performance or face exit. According to the source, the affected commissioners were sacked based on issues ranging from lack of capacity to deliver, disloyalty and flagrant disobedience of the Governor’s directives on several occasions and lackadaisical attitude towards government’s goals

Some of the commissioners were also said to be indifferent to the governor’s directive on some major issues. The source said like any other Governor or President, Ambode relieved the cabinet members of their appointments based on political expediency, capacity to do the job, among others.

He recalled that many of the cabinet members were appointed a year ago based on merit and the need to put round peg in round hole, but in the last 15 months, it had become apparent that some of them cannot cope with the pace of the Governor, while some have demonstrated utter disloyalty.

They were also accused of flagrant disrespect to the office of the Governor with impunity, thereby undermining his authority coupled with unresolved disputes with some cabinet members.

The source said: “You see, one of them for instance, (names withheld) falls in this category. Having been in government for the past 16 years, his carriage was that of a man who believed that he cannot be touched. So, it was not a surprise to close observers that he was among those sacked...”

Yet another one was dropped on account of being arrogant and unable to work as a team player and above all, he was allegedly approving money without the governor’s consent.

Commissioner reacts
Meantime, Folarin-Coker, in a swift reaction to the development, denied being removed for poor performance but said it was in the interest of moving Lagos forward.

His words: “Governor Akinwunmi Ambode is my leader and boss. He is a visionary leader and understands well what Lagos needs best. He is also a close personal friend. There was no clash between us whatsoever. Lagos needs to move at an accelerating pace and my time to depart just happened to be today.

“I remain totally loyal to him and the party. Change is always a good thing and I am grateful to God to have been able to serve my state for 18 years.”

America Rapper Kevin Gates sentenced to Jail For assaulting a Female Fan

Image result for kevin gates in court

Rapper Kevin Gates has been sentenced to 180 days in jail after being convicted of kicking a female fan at a Florida concert last year.

A Polk County jury found Gates, who was sentenced Wednesday, guilty of battery after he was captured on cellphone video kicking 19-year-old Miranda Dixon at Lakeland's Rumors Nightclub, where he performed last August.

Dixon, who was in the crowd, testified that she tugged on Gates' pants twice to get his attention for her friend. After the second time, she says Gates kicked her so hard that she fell back and passed out. Dixon reportedly admitted herself to the hospital and had a CT scan.

Gates' attorney Jose Baez argued his client was battered by the woman before Gates kicked her and that Dixon has a financial motive in the case, saying that she had a civil lawyer.

Gates has been touring in promotion of his first studio album, which has gone mutli-platinum with hit songs like “Really Really” and “2 Phones,” both of which reached the top 15 of both the hip hop and rap charts.

The Baton Rouge rapper was scheduled to perform today at the Voodoo Fest music festival in New Orleans
