Dino Melaye reportedly buys N180 Million Rolls Royce from US (pics)

The current economic recession does not seem to be affecting flamboyant Nigerian senator, Dino Melaye, as he is reportedly in possession of a 93-year-old Rolls Royce estimated at N180 million.
The picture of the Rolls Royce was secretly taken in his garage, during a visit to his residence in the highbrow Maitama District of the FCT in Abuja, during a visit on Wednesday, October 5, 2016.

Mr. Melaye, a first-time senator who represents Kogi Central, owns a fleet of luxury and antiquated cars worth billions of Naira.

He has at least 28 of the expensive cars parked at his upmarket residence in Maitama Abuja, according to the news website, Sahara Reporters.

In February, Mr. Melaye, who once led a nongovernmental organisation campaigning against corruption, posed in a 2015 Slingshot estimated to cost about N4.78 Million.

A Trent source said, “Senator Dino Melaye is very smart, he actually got the car from Las Vegas two years ago. At that time, he was busy committed with anti-graft crusade as Executive Secretary of Anti-Corruption Network (ACN) but decided to keep it in secrecy.”

A Google check on the car indicated that the Rolls Royce is a rare collectible item that is not only scarce but very expensive.

Checks have confirmed that the Rolls Royce which is a 1923 model is 93 years old, and is used by only a few persons in a special grade.

           “Hello you,

Thank you for showing interest in me. Now let me tell you something about me. I am HaruHi MiWaKo (Himiwako) and am blessed by Mother Nature to look the way that I do. I enjoy life and I hope you do too! Gaming, anime, playing the violin and piano are amongst the favourite things I like to do. What I like doing most is making people smile, just by walking down the street, or by playing games with an audience.
My growth started March 2013 and it has been growing in varying stages throughout the years. It does not bother me that they are this huge, they are healthy and that’s what matters. Back pain is something I do not suffer from, and I do wear custom bra’s, so shopping for lingerie is quite the challenge. I hope you folks will follow me on my journey through life and I wish you get some insight in what it’s like to live with the genetic gifts that have been given to me.”

Ambode Berates Senate For Rejecting Bill To Grant Lagos Special Status

Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode has berated the Senate for turning down a bill meant to grant Lagos special status which will entitle the state to a special grant.

The Senate on Wednesday vote overwhelmingly against the bill sponsored by Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

In a statement on Thursday, Ambode commended Senator Tinubu for pushing the need for Lagos State to be recognized and rewarded with a Special Status and Grant into the forefront of national discourse even if the import of that request is lost on a number of her colleagues.

In a release signed by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde, Ambode said that history would remember Senator Tinubu kindly for her thoughtfulness and courage in promoting the bill that sought a special recognition for Lagos State as the commercial capital of Nigeria as well as one per cent of federally generated revenue in view of its socio-economic importance to the entire country.

Ambode stated that without prejudice to the decision of the Senate to stand down the bill, Senator’s Tinubu’s informed position and push will remain an important contribution as well as a reference point in the national economic discourse.

“At a time that our country needs courageous voices that seek solutions that can benefit millions of Nigerians irrespective of where they are from, what the distinguished Senator Oluremi Tinubu has done is to draw attention to how Lagos State can provide more succour to Nigerians being the home to the largest assemblage of Nigerians. She has drawn attention to how Lagos deserves to be assisted so that the state can further provide assistance to millions of Nigerians. It is a pity that this import was not seen from that perspective by the majority of her colleagues,” he said.

Ambode stated that in spite of the set-back the bill suffered on Wednesday, the fact remained that Lagos State has always played a special role to Nigerians as individuals and to the country as a whole.

“The truth of the matter is that as the most populous Nigerian state and the commercial heart-beat of the entire West Africa; a state that would have been the fifth largest economy in Africa if it were an independent country, Nigeria needs Lagos in order for other parts of the country to continue to benefit from Lagos.

“A special status and a special grant are fair requests that would have encouraged and rewarded Lagos State for what it contributes to the federal purse. A yes for the bill would have provided an opportunity to truly reflate the economy and empower Lagos State in serving as home to more than 21 million Nigerians and as hub to the largest volume of businesses and foreign direct investments in Nigeria. But clearly, a spectacular opportunity has been missed by ignoring this important bill,” Ambode said.

The governor added that in spite of the rejection of the bill, Lagos State would continue to be special and will not be deterred in continuing to play the important role of serving as a conducive and secure home for Lagosians as well as local and international visitors where opportunities are limitless and lives and property are safe.

Jail Kim If Robbery Incident Was Farce- Howard Stern

Howard Stern has reportedly claimed Kim Kardashian should face jail time if it's discovered her recent horrific armed robbery is in some way a "farce".

The reality star was left shaken after five masked men broke into her private apartment in Paris, held a gun to her head, and stole millions of pounds worth of jewellery.

But despite her rep and close friends confirming she's been left terrified by the ordeal, and Kim herself still in hiding in New York with Kanye, some fans are questioning what exactly happened.

Now Stern has waded in, and according to Radar Online , came out with some shock views this week.

Speaking on Sirius XM on Wednesday, host Quivers admitted he's "not a Kardashian fan" before allegedly adding: "Some people are saying it didn't even happen. People are speculating that it's become more elaborate as it's going on."

Hern reportedly replied: "If it is a farce, really she should go to jail for that."

But Quivers replied: "I don't think it is."

Rape suspect escapes from Anambra court

A 23-year-old rape suspect, Okpara Miracle, in Awka, Anambra State, on Wednesday escaped from a Magistrates’ Court through the window.Mr. Miracle of Awkuzu in Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra allegedly broke loose when his trial was about to start and his handcuff was removed.

He allegedly destroyed the window louvres and escaped into the nearby bush.

Miracle was arrested for alleged kidnapping, rape and cultism and was about to be arraigned for
kidnapping a minor, whom he kept in an uncompleted building in Awka for several days while having carnal knowledge of her.

Awana Amba, told NAN that the absence of protectors on the windows made it possible for the suspect to escape.

“The accused was brought to the court in handcuff, but the handcuff was later unlocked with the hope that he will be of good behaviour before the unexpected happened,” Amba said.
The Magistrate N.A. Onunkwo, mandated the police to intensify search for the suspect to be brought to book.

Stella Oduah fails in bid to stop her N255m Armoured Car trial

A Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday dismissed an application by ex-Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah, asking for an order to stop the EFCC and the police from arresting her with respect to the ongoing investigation into corruption allegation against her.

Oduah had filed the fundamental rights enforcement suit, asking the court to prohibit the Attorney-General of the Federation’s office, the EFCC, and the police from “inviting, arresting, investigating or prosecuting” her over the purchase of two armoured BMW vehicles at the cost of N255m.

Justice Abdu Kafarati in his judgment on Wednesday upheld the objection raised by the respondents, to the effect that the court lacked the requisite jurisdiction to hear the case.

He held that that no court had the power to stop security agencies from carrying out their duty.

He said, “It is not grantable by this court because the court cannot stop security agencies from carrying out their duties. There is no way a person can be investigated without being invited by the body charged with the responsibility of investigation.

“In most cases, the invitation is even in the interest of the invitee because he or she will have the opportunity of giving his or her side of the story.

“I therefore hold that the application seeking to stop security agencies from inviting, investigating, arresting and/or prosecuting any person suspected to have committed an offence does not constitute a fundamental right action.”

Angry Mob In Lagos Beat Up LASTMA Officials For Punching Lagos Driver Into Coma

There was pandemonium on Wednesday at the Costain area of Lagos State as an official of the Lagos State Management Authority and a bus driver were reportedly beaten to a pulp.

Punch Metro learnt that officials of LASTMA had allegedly apprehended the bus driver at the Costain bus stop, for allegedly violating a traffic rule.

It was alleged that an argument ensued between the driver, his conductor and the officials. In the ensuing scuffle, a LASTMA official allegedly punched the driver and he slumped.

A mob was reported to have barricaded the road in protest as the driver lay on the floor, foaming in the mouth.

The mob reportedly vandalised a LASTMA patrol car which drove into the protesters at the time, beating up the officials.

They were said to have mobilised and also attacked the LASTMA office in the area and vandalised vehicles in the yard before the intervention of policemen from the Iponri division.

A witness, Ibrahim Adisa, said the incident happened around 9am.

He said, “We saw that the LASTMA officials held the bus driver at the junction for breaking traffic rule. The man did not release the vehicle to them, which started an argument. The driver and the conductor then started fighting the LASTMA men.

“One of the LASTMA officials put his hand in the pocket and brought out a ring which he used to hit the driver. The man fell and started foaming in the mouth.  The officials then took his bus into their yard and left him on the ground.

“A mob barricaded the road and vandalised a LASTMA patrol car that came in that time. They beat up all the officials in the car. After that, they carried the man’s body into the LASTMA’s office and chased out the workers.”

Punch Metro learnt that the driver was later taken to a hospital after the police arrived to quell the unrest.

A motorcycle rider said the situation would have been worse but for the intervention of the police.

“Traffic was at a standstill and the hoodlums were looking for LASTMA officials or any government official to attack,” he added.

As of 3pm when Punch correspondent left the area, no traffic official was in sight as police patrol vehicles mounted surveillance in the area.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, confirmed the incident, adding investigations were ongoing.

She said, “Yes, I can confirm that LASTMA officials impounded a vehicle and the driver and his conductor engaged the LASTMA officials in fisticuffs, which led to two losing consciousness. The two are the driver and a LASTMA official. They were both rushed to the hospital where they are currently recuperating. Investigation has commenced into the matter.”

The spokesperson for LASTMA, Mr. Mahmud Hassan, in a statement, denied that the driver was beaten by an official of the agency.

He explained that some hoodlums, who were attempting to free the driver’s bus, invaded the premises of the agency and vandalised vehicles.

He said, “The commercial bus was apprehended for illegal picking and dropping of passengers in the Costain area. The commercial bus was subsequently taken to the nearest yard of the agency at Iponri for booking.

“However, in a bid to circumvent the law and retrieve the vehicle from LASTMA’s yard, the driver mobilised friends and hoodlums, who attacked the Iponri office of the agency. They injured our personnel and damaged vehicles in the yard. However, when the driver’s action did not yield the desired result, he stripped himself naked and created a scene in order to draw the sympathy of unwary members of the public.

“When the act failed, his friends and hoodlums put him in a wheelbarrow with a clear intention to cause commotion and breakdown of law and order.”

Hassan said two of the hoodlums had been arrested and would be arraigned in court.

The General Manager of LASTMA, Mr. Bashir Braimah, according to the statement, said no amount of violence would make the agency to shy away from its statutory responsibility.

This amazing love story of Micky and Faith who met and married through online dating site will melt your heart. Micky, a British man said that while people thought it was all a scam because lets be hones with ourselves, Nigerians have a very negative reputation. However, they persevered and today, their marriage is a testimony.

 Micky shares their inspiring love story;

'Love knows no colour or distance, our relationship proved that as my beautiful wife Faith is from Nigeria and I’m from England, we met online and the distances seemed impossible and we had people on both sides telling us is isn’t real, it’s a scam, and if it isn’t, that we are too different for it to work out. And we will only end up giving up and much more. But our love for each other grew so did our strength.

To the point that we were willing to do anything to be together, as my loving wife proved by waiting a
whole year for me to travel to meet her. As much as it was so difficult for her because she got mucked couple of times, but I am so glad she got support of her family that helped her through it.So we ignored everyone and I traveled to her. We are now married and we are about to start our beautiful mixed family. True love conquers all and will always prevail'.
