Elderly couple get wedding shoot after 74 years together (Photos)

                                 

Way back in 1946 when Ferris and Margaret Romaire married, they could not take photos at the ceremony. 
                           

Fast forward to 2016, the 70th anniversary of their wedding, their granddaughter, Amanda Kleckley, felt it would be great to reenact the wedding pictures they missed out on the first time around. 

Everyone gets a second chance afterall, right?


You've got to admire these oldies who still managed to project the perfect image of love and flaming romance 70 years after it all began.

With the help of photographer Lara Carter, 90 year old Ferrisand his 89-year old bride, Margaret, got down to the shoot on Oct. 12 shoot in Pearland, Texas.
                    
Check him out looking good in a tux as his wife smiled beside him in her lavender gown and a veil.

The couple smiled ear-to-ear as they snogged and sipped on some celebratory champagne.

According to Lara, their photographer, “They are a beautiful example of what marriage is meant to be.”

Speaking to Huffington Post, she adds, “They still live in the same home they built for a growing family 65 years ago,” Lara said.
                        

“They didn’t have lots of money, but they had lots of shared values ― the love of children, a good work ethic, a strong faith in God and a sense of humor.”

70 years after their simple wedding, The Romaires now have four kids, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina has appealed to Nigerians to have faith in the present administration.

Adesina, who admitted that the current situation in the country is very tough, said the President knows where he's going.

Speaking on a Channels Television programme, the Presidential spokesman noted that the problem inherited by Buhari was underestimated, assuring hat the President will  "steer the ship in the right direction" eventually.

He said: "We all must agree that the enormity of the problem was underestimated. John Oyegun, chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has said that; Segun Oni, former governor of Ekiti state, has said that, too.

"Whoever thought that Nigeria had been run into a hole like we have now seen! There was façade that made you feel that everything was okay with the country, but the country was in a hole. As of November 2014, the average income of Nigeria for a month was $3.2 billion. By June, July 2015, it dropped to $500 million.

"You couldn’t have foreseen that because nobody knew that the crash of oil price would have such effect and when the crash came, the next thing was to say: ‘Where are the savings?’ But we looked and found nothing. So, it was real trouble.

"This administration is not the type that will manipulate, that will twist issues, whatever you hear us say, just take it that we mean it. The good thing about the president is his integrity. He also means well.

"If you have your doubts about the captain of a ship and you run into a storm, you begin to panic. But if you know that this captain is tested, he is seasoned, and he will not abandon the ship, then you will stay with him.

"I will like to tell Nigerians that the captain of our ship, the president is someone who knows where he is going. He knows where he is steering the ship to. It may be tempestuous for now, we will get to a safe harbour."

On the criticism of his performance as Buhari’s spokesman, Adesina likened himself to Jesus Christ, who was, despite being the son of God, accused and killed.

He said: "Well, even Jesus was accused. They even said he had a demon. So, if they say that about the son of God, it’s not surprising to me. Don’t they say that to the president? People will accuse people, but in my heart of hearts, I know that I am giving this assignment the best, and I will still continue to give my best to it.

"My job is to project the president, inform Nigerians on whatever he is doing, educate them, and then amplify what he has done, and when it comes to defending him, I also defend him.

"When you are a spokesman, you need to understand the person you speak for. You don’t go ahead of him, you either stay with him or come behind him. If you go ahead of him, you are a wrong person."

Ondo governor-elect, Akeredolu receives certificate of return from INEC

                   

Ondo State governor-elect, Rotimi Akeredolu has said his victory at the Ondo governorship polls was for the people of the state.

Akeredolu said this after receiving his Certificate of Return at the state headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Akure.

Aside from acting, try to get something to the side so that you can be financially independent and refuse to get laid by producers. Sleeping with producers won’t take you to stardom. There is a difference between a known face and a commercial face. Be wary of the crew because they are the ones to make you.

Some of the upcoming actors will just look at the crew like they are not human beings. You should know that it is the crew that chooses who plays what before the director finally decides. If you don’t respect them, your career is on the line because your chances to get any role is sometimes subjected to their recommendations”.

Gareth Southgate Appointed England Manager On 4-Year Contract

Stowaway found dead in Arik Air plane in Johannesburg

The lifeless body of a stowaway was on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 found in the main wheel well of one of Arik Air’s A330-200 aircraft at the Oliver Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg.

The aircraft operated the scheduled Lagos-Johannesburg flight that departed the Murtala Muhammed International Airport at 3:55pm on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 and arrived Johannesburg shortly before 11pm.

Engineers of South African Airways Technical facility at the Oliver Tambo International Airport where the aircraft was scheduled for a routine maintenance check discovered the body of the stowaway during inspection phase.

Investigations are ongoing to determine how the stowaway found his way into the aircraft’s main wheel well.

Victor Moses wins Premier League player of the month award

Nigeria's Victor Moses was celebrated by his team Chelsea as he won the PFA Fans' Premier League Player of the Month award for November, beating Sergio Aguero and Gylfi Sigurdsson, etc.

More than 40,000 votes were cast in the poll, which was held on the Sky Sports website and apps, with Moses claiming a landslide victory with 18,756 votes.

He said

 "Dear Federal Government, this regime cannot be all hardship. The suffering is too much!!! So far, It has been plagued by loss of jobs, hike in foodstuff, loss of value of the Naira against the Dollar, hike in petroleum products etc.

"Increasing the price of data will be seen by the masses as grossly insensitive, as this remains our greatest source of entertainment, information and education.

"Instead of this why don't you place a 30% tax levy on any church or mosque that collects offering, gifts and tithe and you will be amazed at how much revenue you will realize.

I don't know if this is true but it is currently trending. According to the stories making rounds, the lady in the picture you see below went to a club and took pictures without bothering to check them.

When she got home, she was going through the photos she took when she saw one photo with a tall, headless man in it, while the others who appear in the photo have their heads intact.

Meet son of Chapecoene coach who missed plane crash because he forgot his passport

Matheus and his dad, Coach Saroli who died in the crash

Matheus Saroli, 25, the son of a head coach of the Brazilian football club on board the doomed Colombia-bound flight has revealed that he was supposed to board the plane but couldn't because he had forgotten his passport.

The British Aerospace 146 plane plane, carrying nearly all of the Chapecoense football team, crashed outside the city of Medellin on Monday night killing 75 and leaving just six survivors – including three players.

Following the tragedy, Matheus whose father, Luiz Carlos Saroli, coached the first-division team and also perished in the crash, wrote a post on Facebook explaining that he had been scheduled to board the plane and thanking people for their support.

Mr Saroli wrote:

“Friends, my brother and my mother are all well. We ask that we are given a little privacy, especially to my mother, and thank all of those sending messages.

“I was in [Sao Paulo] today and I did not board because I forgot my passport. We are strong. We will get through it.”

Later on, in an interview with RPC, Mr Saroli described his final conversation with his father, saying something had felt “different”, indicating that he could sense what was to happen. Close to tears, Mr Saroli said:

“I talked to him several times about various things.

“In the end, at the last moment before we separated, and he left for the airport, it was different. It’s easy to say this now, but I felt something was different.”

The Avro RJ85 plane, which was carrying nine crew, suffered power failures while flying through the Antioquia Department on its way from Bolivia. 

The pilot of the flight had dumped fuel in the moments before the plane came down to stop it turning into a fireball on impact, saving the few who were pulled out alive.

Husband Files For Divorce: My wife got pregnant for her boss

A 48yrs old man, Yinka Ogundare, has told an Igando Customary Court, Lagos, that his estranged wife, Abosede, was impregnated by her boss. The 13-year-old marriage produced three children.

His said, "My wife called me when I travelled to Oyo for a course that she was three-month pregnant. I denied being responsible for the pregnancy because I left Lagos five months earlier.

"It was later I received a letter from her office that she was pregnant for her boss, but aborted it."

The husband tendered the letter as exhibit to the court. He added that his wife infected him with gonorrhoea on two different occasions.

“She infected me with gonorrhoea in 2007 and 2010, that I spent a lot of money in curing it."

He said that his wife was a drunk, as she was not alright until she had taken alcohol in the morning.

“Abosede drinks alcohol a lot; she takes it as a meal, especially early in the morning.’’

He also said his wife loved clubbing not minding the fact that she was a married woman.

The husband urged the court to dissolve the marriage because he felt he could be infected with HIV if he should continue with the marriage.

The Woman's Reaction
Abosede, a 33-year-old civil servant, also accused her husband of infidelity.

My husband had five girlfriends; he must have contacted the STD from his concubines.There was a day I saw used condom on our bed; I queried him, and he told me that I don’t have the right to question him because he did not pay my bride price,’’ she said.

The mother of three didn't say anything about the pregnancy but said her husband beats her.

My husband beats me a lot and he always targets my neck; he once attempted to strangle my neck, but I escaped. He always threatened to lace me with charms.

She agreed that the court should grant her husband’s wish, saying she was fed up with the marriage.

A crew member who survived the Colombian plane crash has revealed the dramatic final moments before the plane went down.
Erwin Tumiri said terrified passengers left their seats and started screaming as the CP-2933 plane, struck by catastrophic electrical problems, began to plummet into a mountainside.

He says he was one of only six to survive the disaster which killed 71 - including all but three members of the Chapecoense football team - because he 'followed safety procedures'.

              

 I put the bags in between my legs to form the foetal position that is recommended in the accidents,' Mr Tumiri told rescuers who hiked up the remote mountains of Cerro Gordo.

'During the situation, many stood up from their seats and they started to shout,' Fox Sports Argentina quoted him as saying. 

Another survivor, stewardess Ximena Suarez, told a government official the lights went off as the jet started to go down.

                       

'I don't remember more at the moment,' she explained,

 Doctors have been treating traumatized the survivors - three footballers, a journalist and the two crew members - as an investigation into the crash began. 

Hawaii Five-0’ Actor Keo Woolford Dies At 49 After Suffering Stroke

                             

Keo Woolford, best known for his role as Detective James Chang on Hawaii Five-0, passed away on Monday, November 28 at 49 years....
His Publicist confirmed the news to Hollywood Reporter that the actor died at a hospital in Oahu, Hawaii, three days after suffering from a stroke.

Woolford wrote, directed and produced 2013 independent film The Haumana and was working on a sequel. He also appeared in 1999’s Happy, Texas, 2006’s Falling for Graceand 2014’s Godzilla. In addition to his film and television career, Woolford was also a member of Hawaiian boy band Brownskin and starred in more than 300 performances of The King & I.

Why Nollywood Actors/Actresses Run Into Poverty

Nollywood actress Queen Nwokoye has blamed the act of trying to live up to people's expectation as one of the major reasons why Nollywood actors/actresses run out of money and start experiencing a form of poverty.

Speaking with Broadway Africa TV, Queen said:

“I don’t think it is because they are being extravagant, how many people are to begin with? The truth of the matter is a lot of people are known faces but they are not actually making the type of money people think they make.

Then again, it is an individual thing, it is either you are here or you are there but the truth is a lot of people don’t make that kind of money they think we have.

Some people think we get paid 10 million for acting {laughs}, so a lot of times, actors want to live up to false expectations from their fans and that is how they get into trouble.

As far as I am concerned, if you are paid in Nigeria and you want a Gucci bag and you convert your Naira to dollars to go and buy it because Kim Kardashian is carrying it, it doesn’t make sense because she earns dollars.

So for me it is not about being extravagant, everybody loves the good things of life but you have to draw a balance. It is about not truly making that huge amount that actors and actresses make.”

No point rushing to live a lifestyle that your resources can't carry; give it some time, you'll get there.
