Man impregnates housemaid, strangles pregnant wife
The Plateau Police Command on Thursday confirmed the arrest of a 40-year-old man, Victor Dashit, who allegedly strangled his eight months pregnant wife, Irene.
“Victor is in our custody and investigation is on-going. We shall soon take him to court,” its spokesman, Terna Tyopev, said in Jos.
He said that Dashit, a staff of the National Industrial Court, Jos who resides at New Abuja area of Jos, killed the wife, a 33-year-old teacher, at their farm in Kangang, on June 2. The investigation revealed that Dashit, after killing the woman, invited his brother to help him to convey her to hospital after lying that she slumped few minutes after she complained of feeling dizzy.
A family source said that prior to the incident, the couple had faced lots of problems leading to persistent domestic violence. He said that the situation got worse in May 2016, when the deceased caught her husband in bed with their house help, one Nora, in their home.
“The woman woke up one night sometime in May 2016 and did not see her husband on the bed. “ After combing the entire house, she peeped into the house help’s room and found her husband on her,” the source said.
He said that Irene sent the girl out of the house, but the girl came back two months later and told the husband that she was pregnant.

A Facebook user, Paul Baji, has shared the sad
news of how five grandchildren of one Mrs Dorothy Agbor died when
they reportedly ate a cucumber given to them by their great grandmother.
The tragic incident happened in Becheve ward in Obanliku in Cross River
State
yesterday.
Their great grandmother reportedly died on hearing the news that her
grandchildren had died. Here is what Paul Baji wrote;
"JOY OVERWHEM BY TRAGEDY. Sadness has taken over the land of Amana, and indeed the entire Becheve ward in Obanliku HAVe of Cross River State of Nigeria, as 6 grand children of one Mrs Dorthy Agbor from old ikwette village a.k.a Bottom hill residing in Amana have died after eating cocumber. Sources reveal that the children ate the fruit in absence of their grand mother, but under the supervision of their great grandmother as their grandma had attended the burial of one Mr. Emma Kechie.
On her return the next morning, she discovered that 5 of her grand children were unconscious, she then raised alarm for help. This attracted the attention of friends, neighbors, and colleagues who came to her assistance by rushing the victims to nearby clinics. Few minutes after one female child gave up the ghost. Two hours later, 2 boys followed. As if that was not enough, 4 hours later another female child died. As I speak with you now one of the victims who was undergoing treatment in the hospital has just died. On hearing the death of these children, their great grandmother under whose supervision the children ate the fruit collapsed and died few minutes after, bringing the total number of corpse to 6 from the same house. WHAT A TRAGEDY?. At the moment 4 of the corpse have been taken to old ikwette for burial. This is because the host community ( AMANA ) has objected to the idea of buring them in their land, as it is tragedy. They also say is to avoid future occurance as this kind of thing has never happened in their land before. The question one may be tempted to ask is, who must have destroyed the lives of these future leaders?. Man may not come by the answer anyway, but GOD alone. We pray that the souls of these innocent children rest in peace...... Amen"

It’s like Senator Adeleke’s death has made Davido’s father run mad’ – Osun state governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola
The Osun State Governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, has said Dr. Deji Adeleke may have gone mad because of the death of his brother, Senator Isiaka Adeleke.
Aregbesola said this in Ede on Wednesday at the campaign of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the Osun West Senatorial District by-election holding on Saturday.
Punch reports that the governor’s vituperation was in reaction to allegation that he owed Deji Adeleke money.
But Aregbesola said he did not borrow any money from Deji at anytime, saying it was the Adelekes that had been collecting money from him.
He said, “Deji Adeleke is a business man, he is not a politician but it is like his brother’s death has run him mad.” (O dabi pe iku egbon e ti da lori ru). It is a lie that I borrowed money from Deji,He said political office was not by inheritance, saying if it was so, Bola Ige family would have been ruling the state.
“It is to the glory of God that they got the Certificate of Occupancy of their university from our government. Why didn’t those who are their new friends give them C of O of that university? If Deji Adeleke had so much money, why did he beg me to waive the payable tax of his university? Why couldn’t he just pay?
“I am bold enough to say this over and over again, because I have never sought assistance from any member of the Adeleke family, even during the lifetime of Senator Isiaka Adeleke. Nothing of such occurred.

Sharing a photo of the cut she got from the ugly incident on Instagram, she wrote;
‘When the devil tries to ruin your shine…. so this happened over the weekend! I was attacked by strangers but my God covered me! Got 8 stitches but im ok!! Be safe out there guys ♥️ remember pray and thank God for your life its never promised’And then someone asked ‘What????? Why? So sorry.’ and she replied ‘no reason they just ran up on me’

From Welfare Road Warri, Delta State to the Silver Screen, it's been an often times surreal experience that anyone who has made it from a similar place of obscurity can relate to. I believe my journey, like most journeys to greatness usually start from self belief. It's hard for me to believe I have done 34 years post graduation. There's been struggles, uncertainties, living abroad seeking greener pastures, returning home, businesses have risen, flourished and some fallen.
There's been a marriage, a painful death, another blessed marriage, joyous births and more academic pursuits and degrees. There's been my sojourn in government for 8 years, the birth of my precious grandchildren and the return that was first scary till I felt the overwhelming love and support of my ever growing fan base. What a journey. What a packed 56years. I am indeed grateful and thankful. No, I didn't wake up like this (as RMD), No, I didn't always know that I would "make it". It's been Faith, Hard work, Self development and more work. But above all I have been more graced than my efforts could ever have done which is why in this journey, God is my ride or die and today I return all the glory to Him.

This young boy you see below was spotted at Aluminium village Suleja, Niger state scavenging for food from a refuse bin. He had seen a disposed takeaway pack in the bin, grabbed it and started eating the remains.
Photos were shared online by a Citadel Daily Nigeria correspondent who had visited the Northern state. He wrote:

Police arrest woman who helped billionaire kidnapper, Evans to escape in 2006

It was gathered that the woman, simply identified as Tina, is now a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP). She was unmasked by a Special Investigation Panel (SIP) constituted by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ibrahim Idris to probe Evans’ 2006 arrest, transfer from Lagos State to Imo State and eventual release.
After the suspect’s arrest last month, a senior police officer told reporters that his team apprehended Evans in 2006 after a bank robbery.
The officer had claimed that Evans and his gang members had a gun duel at the National Theatre in Surulere, Lagos Mainland after a disagreement in sharing their loot, adding that the kingpin was shot and left to die.
According to the officer, Tina, who was a Superintendent of Police (SP) at the time, mounted pressure on them to release Evans and two of his members but when her request was not met, she went through Imo State Command, where a signal was sent for the transfer of the suspects.
As a result of the revelations, IGP Idris constituted a panel to investigate the 2006 arrest, transfer and eventual release of Evans and his members.
The panel was to identify all officers who had a hand in the matter, whether serving or retired.
According to a source, the panel has made “reasonable progress” in its investigation because almost all the officers that took part in the “rape of justice” have been identified.
He said the police might soon release statement on the issue.
The source said:
“I can tell you that Tina is not the woman’s real name but I won’t give you her name. I can also tell you she’s now a CSP and still in service. So many officers took part in that 2006/2007 release of Evans and they are being investigated. The panel has made progress and almost all of them have been identified. An official statement might be release by the authorities soon.”
