Nigerian Music legend, 2face Idibia, visited the troops of 3 battalions of the Nigerian army in Maiduguri, Borno State on Tuesday. He
was also at the IDP camp in Ngala/Gamboru in support of the United
Nations efforts to rehabilitate internally displaced persons and
refugees running from Boko Haram terrorists.
Five Star Music Artiste, KCee has given his opinion concerning the
Federal Government’s move to stop the production of Nigerian music and
videos abroad. This he did in an interview with Wotzup ONTV.
Minister
of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed had said during a meeting with
the Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON) that the Federal Government
will look in to ways they can help the local entertainment industry.
Part of their plan is to stop the trend whereby contents meant for the
Nigerian public is produced abroad and brought into the country for
consumption.

concerning the move. Five Star Music artiste, KCee sees it as a move
that will prevent the progress of the industry. He gave an instance of
how difficult it will be to bring a foreign artiste down to Lagos to

Currently, the
President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is away in London
concerning health issues. Nigerians have complained about the prolong
absence of the President whose nature of sickness they are not informed
about. The proposed move by the FG is seen by many musicians including
Peter of Psquare as an hypocritical one since most government officials
prefer overseas when they want to educate their children or get medical
attention.
While the President is away in London for treatment, a
wing of the President’s political party, All Progressive Congress
(APC), has suggested that Peter of Psquare should be arrested for
statements he made in reaction to the move by FG to ban foreign produced
contents. Singer also commented on the issue saying if Peter of Psquare
is arrested, then Nigerian Musicians will look for the President who is
away in London and tell him about the problem.
The singer also
spoke on the issue of social media fans always questioning to know the
source of his brother E-money’s wealth. He wondered why they never
bothered about them when they were poor and living in Ajegunle, a ghetto

It was 5:30 am when a neighbor came nocking on my door , SAATER!
Saater!! Saater , I asked mama what happen? . she answered, come with me
and see some thing. I followed her to a house where hundreds of
people were already standing . What has happened? , I was told two girls
from the same mother were burnt to death. How it stated. Three girls from the same mother have been staying in the same room . they leave the village to school in makurdi.
The elderly one often leave the room in the night to his boy friend
house . she always find it difficult to come back into to the room
quietly as it always take several nocks and time for the younger ones to
open the room for her. Some thing she is not at home with. So
yesterday, according to her, she locked the door outside with a padlock
around 12 something am and head to his boy friend house with the aim of
coming back early as usual. Like I told you earlier , I was there around 5:47am with mama , the the two girls where dead lying covered in there room.
Fire whose source could not be determined had burn the mattress where
the too other girls where sleeping . one of them lack oxygen and died
instantly why the other tried to open the door but couldn’t as the door
was locked outside. A good neighbor who came quite early spoiled the
door and found the other one dead why the other had little breath and
was rushed to the hospital but it was too late already. Her dead body were returned home immediately without delay and placed side by side to her late sister. The lady returned from her boy friends house close to six O’Clock and met hundreds of people in his house . A man asked, where have you gone? , the lady replied what I did not hear but later went in to found her two sisters dead.
The boy friend came around and receive the beaten of his life , the
girl whose age can not be more than 16 by my own assessment told the
crowed not to beat the little guy. The girls school mate visited and it was cry all over . what a tragedy.
The girls parents arrived later and the dead bodies have since been
taken to the village for burial. it is really a mystery how the fire
came in to the room.”
The staggering exposure of BBC salaries has revealed the top-earning woman earns £1.5 million less than her male counterpart.

This is the shocking moment a car driver was robbed at knifepoint in
broad daylight by a gang of thieves on mopeds. The incident took place
on Ladywell Road in Lewisham, London, on July 6, and was caught on
dashcam from a car behind.
Footage shows a white Porsche driver, a man in his 30s, come to a halt
in evening rush hour traffic. A motorbike, carrying two men, pulls up
next to the driver's window.
The passenger of the bike can be seen holding up a knife at the driver, while his accomplice appears to make demands.
Another moped, with two more people pulls up behind the first one, in an attempt to scare the driver.
It appears that the Porsche driver hands over his valuables to the bikers, before speeding away from them.
The two scooters then make a U-turn and make off in the opposite direction.
Passersby don't seem to notice what exactly has gone on, as many people
just turn their heads towards the incident without doing anything.
The woman in the car of the dashcam can heard shouting at the Porsche
driver: 'I've got you on camera. I've got it all on camera.'

The Chairman, Springtime Development Foundation, Dr. Deji Adeleke, has
secured the release of about 200 inmates of the Ilesa Prison in Osun
State.
The Vice-Chairman of the foundation, Mr. Banji Adesuyi, said this at the
Ilesa Prison on Tuesday when the group was donating 700 mattresses and
the same number of pillows to the inmates.
Adesuyi said Adeleke became aware that inmates of the prison were
sleeping on the bare floor when he went to pay a visit to an embattled
chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Alhaji Diekola Oyedele, who
was detained at the prison.
He explained that the foundation paid for the release of inmates, who
were incarcerated because they could not pay fines as low as N5,000,
stressing that the foundation did not secure the release of any inmate
convicted because of crime.
Adesuyi said Adeleke was not prompted to secure the release of the
inmates because of political reason but purely on humanitarian ground.
An Israeli-Christian man is accused of stabbing his teenage daughter to
death because, authorities say, he didn't approve of her relationship
with a Muslim man.
Prosecutors say Sami Karra, 58, killed his daughter in their family home
in the central Israeli town of Ramle, a day after she graduated from
high school.
According to a criminal indictment filed in Israeli district court this
week,the daughter, 17-year-old Henriette Karra, was in a relationship
with a Muslim man, against the urging of her parents.
In late May, Henriette left the family home after threats and abuse from
her parents.She stayed with her boyfriend's mother for part of the
time.
Henriette's family tried to bring her back home - using threats against
her and her boyfriend's mother to put pressure on her to return, the
indictment says.
The boyfriend's mother, called police to intervene on Karra's behalf.
But the teenage girl refused police help, and she refused to go home.
The next month, while Henriette was staying at a friend's house, her
father came to the house and began threatening her and slapping her, the
indictment says.
"Just like I sat in jail, I am ready to sit in jail my entire life, I don't care," Karra allegedly yelled at his daughter.
After a joint meeting with a social worker, Henriette returned home two
days later. She celebrated her high school graduation at a party on June
12.
But the next morning, she went to the post office to mail $100 to her
boyfriend. He was in jail for an unspecified charge and was scheduled to
be released at the end of the week.
When she returned home, Henriette told a family member she was ready to convert to Islam.
The family member told Henriette's father. Upon hearing the news,
according to the indictment, Karra went home, picked up a knife, and
stabbed his daughter three times, killing her.
Karra was arrested later that day.

A
22-year-old graduate of Agriculture from Kwara Polytechnic who was
arrested during a foiled robbery operation at a Lotto company in
Ajagbadi area of Lagos, yesterday burst into tears when he was informed
that his pregnant wife had been delivered of a baby. The suspect, Saidi Ayemojuba,
who confessed that he joined a robbery gang due to frustration,
explained that he went for the operation at the lotto company with the
hope of using its proceed to prepare for his baby’s arrival, after which
he would quit robbery. He disclosed that he started with a gang
which specialised in attacking passengers who were leaving early for
their respective places of work, four years ago. Narrating his gang’s
modus oparandi, Ayemojuba whose operational name is Aleeba, meaning I
can’t be caught in Yoruba dialect, said at times, members of his gang
would mount a motorbike , only to snatch it from its rider, half away
into the journey . Thereafter, the motorbike according to him,
would be sold at give away price to ready buyers with the proceeds
shared among those that partook in the operation. At other times, he
said that members of the gang would position themselves at Cassidy
bus-stop along Mile 2/Badagry expressway as early as 4.30am, pretending
to be passengers. They would board a commercial bus, only to order
the driver to stop half way , where innocent passengers would be
dispossessed of their valuables. Journey to prison However,
during one of the operations at Iyana Sashi, he was arrested three
years ago after members of his gang intended to snatch a bag from a
woman. Ayemojuba was arrested and charged to court , from where he was
sent to prison.
Upon his discharge, he told Vanguard that he joined another robbery gang which leader he met in prison. According to him “ I decided to quit robbery when I came back from prison. But I could not find any good job even with my certificate. One day, I got a call from an inmate I met while in prison. He
told me there was a job he would like me to execute. I met with other
members of the gang . One of the members of a worker at a Lotto company
at Ajagbadi, who told us that they usually left money. We stormed the
place at about 1pm . I stood at a vantage position, where I was given a
bag containing the money. But one of the ladies in the company ran out
and raised the alarm which led to my arrest. Others managed to
escaped. I was beaten until I passed out, only to find myself at the
police station. One regret I have is not to have welcomed my new baby to
the world. I don’t know what they would tell her. I thought of using
the lotto money to prepare for her arrival, after which I intended to
quit robbery finally. I am naturally not a bad boy because anytime
I came back from operation, a gush of guilt will overwhelm me. I went
into this out of frustration. No job, even after having my HND”
The
suspect who was paraded alongside other suspects at the Lagos State
Police Command headquarters, Ikeja, according to the command’s boss,
Fatai Owoseni, would be charged to court, even as he warned criminals to
leave Lagos state or have safe fate befall them.

The Niger State Police Command has arrested two suspects who specialised in kidnapping students of the Federal University of Technology, Minna.
They suspects — Abraham Jatto, 30, from Edo State and Idowu Mafe, 29,
from Ogun State — were said to have been on the police wanted list for
sometime before they were eventually apprehended.
The police said the suspects, who were said to have successfully
abducted three students, had been terrorising the neighbourhood for some
time, adding that were arrested at their hideout in the Sauka Kahuta
area of Minna by the command’s Special Anti-kidnapping Squad.
The police said they were still on the trail of two other members of the
gang, who were in the habit of dispossessing residents of their
valuables such as laptops, handsets, jewelry and money, besides
collecting huge ransoms.
One of the victims, Esther Okwe, 24, a 500-level student of Estate
Management, FUT, reportedly paid N500,000 to regain her freedom from the
abductors. The ransom, it was gathered, was paid by her parents.
Other kidnap victims were identified as Agbo Sylvanus, 24, of the
Department of Mathematics and Peter Adown, 21, of the Department of
Microbiology of the same institution.
Mafe, who claimed to be a graduate of the University of Ilorin, expressed regrets over his involvement in crime.
He said, “When the issue of getting a job in Dubai came up, my parents
could not afford the N750,000 being demanded and Abraham suggested
kidnapping which led us into this predicament.
“I have dragged my good family name in the mud; I pray my parents forgive me.”
Jatto admitted to Punch correspondent that he decided to go into kidnapping to raise money for a trip to Dubai to secure a job.
He explained that he rented a two-bedroomed apartment at the back of the
Niger State Trade Fair complex where he kept his victims.
“I was a successful businessman who never depended on people for
assistance; in fact, I cannot explain how I started kidnapping people,”
the suspect said.
The Niger State police spokesman, Bala Elkana, confirmed that a Honda
Accord car with an Abuja registration number, ABJ 583 AE, was recovered
from the suspects, adding that investigation was ongoing.
“We are close to apprehending the other two suspects; they can run, but we will get them and bring them to book,” he added.
