Parents Overdosed On Heroin Passed Out In Car With Child In Back Seat

These disturbing pictures show a man and woman allegedly overdosed on heroin , collapsed in their car with a toddler in the backseat.

The shocking images have been released by police in a bid to raise awareness of the drugs epidemic.

The pair were spotted driving erratically in the City of East Liverpool, Ohio, by officers before their vehicle came to a sudden stop near a school bus full of children, according to reports.

When an officer approached the vehicle, the driver James Acord appeared intoxicated with unintelligible speech and his head bobbing back and forth.

The 47-year-old claimed he was taking Rhonda Pasek, who was slumped over in the passenger seat, to a hospital .

When he tried to drive away the officer pulled the keys out of the ignition and spotted his four-year-old child in the back seat.

Police have now released disturbing images of the pair to counter the “strong grip” heroin has on their city and discourage users from taking drugs while looking after children.

Paramedics treated the pair at the scene and they were then evaluated at a local hospital.

Acord later pleaded no contest to charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and endangering children.

He was sentenced to 180 days in jail for each while investigators dropped a third charge of slowing or stopping in a road.

The passenger was charged with endangering children, public intoxication and not wearing a seatbelt.

She pleaded not guilty and is being held on a $150,000 (£113,000) bond before a September court appearance.

Her young son has been taken into the care of social services.

PHOTO: Fake Doctor Dupes Cancer Patient of N4million

A 38-year-old fake doctor, Charles Nze, has been arrested for allegedly duping a cancer patient of N4 million. Mr. Nze, who was paraded at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja, claimed to be a dentist from the Calcutta State University, India.

The suspect admitted collecting the money from the victim’s family but said it was meant for drugs and equipment to treat the patient. He said:

“The cancer patient is a family friend. I decided to assist them and bring the patient from another hospital. I was treating her as an outpatient. “When I commenced treatment on the patient, she was getting better. But suddenly the family discovered that I was a dentist and said I overcharged them.

Then, they requested that I refund N2 million out of the money they gave me for the treatment. “It was when I could not return the N2 million that I was arrested by military policemen at Obalende Barracks. The military police later handed me over to the police.

“Three weeks after I started treating the patient, she started getting better. Before I started treating her, she was weighing 33kilogrammes and could not walk, but now she can walk and weighs 47kg."

One of the victim’s family members, who did not want his name in print, told New Telegraph on the side line of the parade that Nze lied to them that he was a medical doctor, but they later got to know that he was a fake doctor.

He said: “When we first met he said he was an oncologist at 9 Brigade, Maryland and studied in India and London. My sister had been sick for some years. He promised to come and see her. “When he came, after diagnosing her, he told us that she had gastric cancer.

He charged us N270,000. He said he was going to get drugs.” But Nze, according to the family member, returned with pain killers. He added: “After 30 minutes, my sister, who was crying that she could not walk, started walking. That was what impressed us that he was actually a genuine doctor.

“He said to continue with the treatment, we needed to act fast because she might die anytime. That was how he billed us another $10,000.”

According to him, Nze later told the family members that because he had compassion for the patient, he was going to loan them N1 million, while they should look for the remaining. He added: “I sold my property and also took loans from my friends to raise the money because my parents could not afford such amount of money.

“After a while, he came back and asked for more money. Then, my wife told me that my sister was not getting better but I did not listen to her. I sold my wife’s car and gave him the money.

“Again, he came to demand additional money. It was then I told him to leave the patient alone. I said if she was going to die, she should die because we have exhausted our money.” The man said he later went to the barracks where Nze claimed he was working and made enquiries about him.

He said: “It was there I discovered he was not a doctor. The military police arrested him and handed him over to the police.”

The Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, urged Nigerians to beware of people they relate with.

How Can A Church Own A School And The Poor Can't Attend It..?" - Prince Eke

Nollywood actor, Prince Eke who recently welcomed a child took to his IG to write on how expensive schools are, especially the ones owned by churches. His words below...

"How can a church own a school and the poor can't attend it...? How can you be teaching people how they can make it to the kingdom of God when they can't enter your own earthly 'kingdom', built with people's tithes and donations...? How can Christian schools be the most expensive schools in Nigeria now...? How can one relate this to the term "Christianity" with regards to the "Early Christian Community" ?
Note: Most of the good people in the world now have nothing to do with christianity, just like most Christians are far from it too. Another academic session, and parents are paying through their noses to send the kids back to school. A word will always be enough for the wise! Happy a nice day!"

Court Deny Kashamu’s Fresh Application

The Federal High Court, Abuja has directed Sen. Buruji Kashamu, to execute the two previous court judgments he obtained stopping the Federal Government from extraditing him to the U.S.

Kashamu, had in a fresh application, urged the court to prohibit the police and the Department of State Services (DSS) from arresting and extraditing him to the U.S to answer charges on drug-relates offences.

The judge, Justice Okon Abang, declined the request, saying that the serving senator, representing Ogun West in the Senate did not need the order.

Abang held that if Kashamu was sure that police and the DSS were taking steps to arrest and extradite him, he should execute the two earlier judgments obtained against the Federal Government.
He said that it was not necessary for the court to issue a fresh order against the defendants in the matter since the same court had delivered two judgments in his favour on the subject matter.

Well, Hprtv is now giving us more details.

In a post, the outlet said:
.
"Genevieve Nnaji has lost her only chance of marrying this year because her secret lover has called off their wedding. Unknown to many, the pretty Nollywood single mother sparked off a secret romance with Ugochukwu Udezue, a wealthy NBA basketball agent based in Denver Colorado last year.

He reportedly proposed to her around the time she was seen flaunting a huge engagement ring on her IG page. They're supposed to get married in Milan, Italy about two weeks ago but the groom cancelled the wedding at the last minute and returned to Amsterdam, dumping the actress and her guests.

Udezue reportedly told his friends that he doesn’t trust Nnaji after she chose to make the wedding private. Secondly, his father has refused to give his blessing nor attend the event because of Nnaji’s suspicious demand of not wanting close family members at the wedding.

Months before the wedding, Nnaji reportedly begged Udezue to keep the wedding ceremony a low-key one. She even went as far as not telling any member of her family nor her colleagues. She only left Nigeria with her best friend Oluchi Orlandi and few other friends.

Udezue thought Nnaji has something to hide that was why she didn’t bother to invite her parents to the wedding ceremony scheduled for Milan. This and his father’s refusal forced Udezue to call off the wedding. The source said Nnaji was put to shame on her wedding day and was forced to return to Nigeria without the wedding ring she’s been dreaming of.

Udezue is the founder of African Basketball League. He is one of the most popular Nigerian NBA agents in the U.S. He has four kids from his previous marriages. It is still unsure if Nnaji and Udezue have called off their relationship. Meanwhile, she is currently in Canada."

See How Sony Music, Wizkid, Are Frustrating Davido’s Career

davido-sony-music-wizkid

These were the words of David Adedeji Adeleke, aka Davido, when the date for his single ‘How Long’, under Sony Music originally scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, September 9, 2016 was released. When the date was announced, the elated Davido took to Snapchat to express his .happiness.

But now, Davido’s fans who had been anticipating the new music will have to wait a while longer for the single, as Sony have moved the release date indefinitely.
Davido
Davido, understandably frustrated, again took to Snapchat to express his feelings and begged his true fans to bear with him; “I have done my part and my best… I’m sorry to all my true fans… My week just got ruined… The fuck shit life brings my way!! I am saying it loud and clear for the world to hear!! It wasn’t my fault.”
After winning African Artiste of The Year in 2014 and 2015 at the MAMAs, Davido, who had never released less than 2 songs in a year since he started in 2011 is now frustrated. Reason being that he is yet to release any for 2016 since he signed with Sony Music in January; a situation which may not be ending anytime soon.As of December 2014, Davido had received a total of 29 awards from 74 nominations but since his mouth watering deal with Sony Music,he has been overlooked for the nominations; most especially the recent Nigerian Entertainment Awards in New York.
Wizkid
In contrast, his Record Label mate, Wizkid has been the centre of attraction all over the world as the record label has deployed their full arsenal at promoting the talented artist.
The deal Davido signed puts Sony Music in charge of all his releases, production, supervision, monitoring, authorizing and promotions of the release of any music content from the artiste. A situation that might be affecting his career negatively, because, if he was still solely in charge of his music output here in Nigeria, he would have dropped more than one single this year.

"Yahoo Guys" Busted while Fighting For A $7000 Deal

The police in Lagos on Thursday paraded an aggrieved fraudster, Henry Ezechie with six others who allegedly specialise in internet fraud.

The suspects were all arrested on Saturday at Ajah, after Ezechie who felt cornered in a $7,090 deal he had with Kenneth Eric alias Biggie, petitioned the police alleging that the others were kidnappers and fraudsters.

The Nation gathered that ,detectives from the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence (SCIID) Panti-Yaba stormed Eric’s Ajah residence and arrested Stephen Onwunama, Jacob Chukwuka and two others.
However, Onwunama and Chukwuka have both denied being criminals insisting that they were just Biggie’s friends and usually visited his home.
Ezechie who admitted reporting to the police said he was angry that Biggie refused to give him his 80 percent share of the loot.

“Biggie is the one owing me. We had a $7,090 deal and he refused to give me my 80 percent share of the money and so, I took the payment slip to the police to report. We do yahoo business (Internet fraud). It was my deal. He is the picker and so, his share is 20 percent.
“Picker is the person who receives the money and sends to Nigeria. He has contacts in America who pick the money and send through money transfer. I have been doing this business for some years now to survive, but this was my major breakthrough and he refused to give me my money.  It is dating that we do. We use Match, Facebook and other sites,” he said.
But Eric, who admitted he was into Internet fraud, denied being a kidnapper. He also denied defrauding Ezechie, claiming that the deal did not click.
“Henry alleged me. He gave me a transaction of N300,000 which did not click and he went to the police to claim that I was a kidnapper and a fraudster. He left what we were doing and started talking rubbish. Whoever gave him that receipt he took to the police was just deceiving him. I do Facebook loto. We tell victims that if they pay $800 they will win $100,000. Most of our victims are white people because they are greedy,” he said.
Onwunama who denied being a fraudster said he only came to visit his friend and he was arrested.
He claimed that he was a government worker in Delta State,  adding that he laid somewhere in the room when the police came and searched everywhere.
“They found nothing on me. They searched my phones and laptop and they didn’t see anything that has to do with fraud in it. I was just visiting my friend and I have spent two weeks in his place.  I was to go back to Asaba on Sunday before I was arrested onSaturday. I don’t know how it is an offence to be a friend to a fraudster,” he claimed.
Chukwuka also denied being a fraudster,  insisting that he only went to Kenneth’s place after he heard the police were there.
“I was at my house when I heard that the police were at Kenneth’s place to arrest him that he was a kidnapper and a fraudster.  So, I went there with my younger brother to explain that I know him. That he was not a kidnapper. That’s how I was also arrested. I did not do anything wrong. I have never been a criminal in my life,” he said.
Parading the suspects, Police Commissioner, Fatai Owoseni said they will be charged to court at the completion of investigation.

Late Gov Audu's son arrested, charged with armed robbery

This family really need to work together. There was drama and disbelief at the Chief Magistrates’ Court 11, Lokoja, Kogi State on Thursday when Mohammed, the eldest son of a former governor of Kogi State, the late Abubakar Mohammed Audu, was charged with armed robbery.

Mohammed was arrested on Wednesday night when he honoured the invitation of men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad at the “A” Division Office of the Nigeria Police Force in Lokoja and he was subsequently detained.

The police charged him to court on Thursday.

Apart from armed robbery, other charges in the First Information Report filed by the police against him were criminal conspiracy, causing mischief and grievous hurt as well as attempted culpable homicide, all contrary to sections 97 (1), 248, 327, 298 and 229 of the Penal Code.

In the said FIR, Mohammed’s uncle, Alhaji Yahaya Audu, who was the complainant in the case, alleged that he was attacked by some hoodlums in his home at Ogbonicha on August 30.

Yahaya said it was by sheer miracle that he escaped from his assailants, who, he said, were shooting sporadically during the attack.

The police prosecutor, Mr. Otowu Gabriel, told the court that though investigation into the matter was still ongoing, findings by the police linked Mohammed and others still at large with Yahaya’s attack.

The lead defence counsel, Mr. Okechukwu Ajunwa, however, contended that there was nothing in the charge that linked his client to the attack.

Ajuwa urged the court to admit his client to bail in line with the provision of Section 36 (5) of the constitution, and in view of the fact that the police were still investigating the case.

He assured the court that his client would neither abscond nor interfere with police investigation if granted bail.

He said his client was a prominent member of the society, who had no reason to abscond, pointing out that Mohammed was not arrested but he voluntarily went to the police station to honour their invitation.

In his response, the prosecutor said he did not wish to oppose the bail application but would allow the court to use its discretion.

After listening to the parties, the Chief Magistrate, Alhassan Hussain, admitted Mohammed to bail, with a directive that he must make himself available for every court session.

The court adjourned till September 29, 2016 for further proceedings in the matter.

Why INEC Finally Agree To Postpone Edo Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission has postponed the Edo State 2016 Governorship Election to Wednesday, September 28.

The decision was announced to journalists on Thursday night, about eight hours after the commission had insisted that the election would hold as earlier scheduled for Saturday, September 10, despite warnings from security agencies.

But the factional leadership of the opposition PDP, led by Senator Ahmed Makarfi, has reiterated its earlier position that the Saturday, September 10, election date should remain sacrosanct.

Spokesperson for the PDP, Mr. Dayo Adeyeye, who stated this in a statement in Abuja on Thursday, said the postponement of the election was illegal and a coup against Nigerians.

As a prelude to announcement of the postponement of the Saturday poll, the police beefed up security around the commission’s headquarters in Benin with riot policemen frisking visitors.

INEC’s decision to postpone the election followed a security report written to the commission by the IG of Police, Ibrahim Idris, and the DG of the Department of State Services, Lawal Daura.

The National Commissioner in charge of Voter Education and Publicity, Mr. Solomon Soyebi, who broke the news to journalists in Benin, however, refused to take questions.

Reading a text, Soyebi who was with the Edo Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mr Sam Olumekun, said the commission had successfully implemented 12 of the 14 activities on the Election Timeline.

The National Commissioner added, “The commission has deployed over 18,000 electoral staff, secured and deployed all materials required for the election and mobilised over 1.9 million voters to exercise their civic responsibilities.

“However, at about 6pm today (Thursday), the commission received official communication from the Police and the DSS, drawing its (INEC) attention to the need to postpone the Edo Governorship Elections.

“Such a postponement, the communication indicates, is necessary in view of threats of terrorist activities in Edo and other states of the federation during the election and over the Sallah period.”

Soyebi revealed that the letter from the security agencies indicated that holding the election on that day would overstretch the police personnel.

“Consequently, the commission notes the request of the security agencies and, considering the security implications of proceeding with the election, the safety of eligible voters, electoral officials, including ad hoc staff, and other stakeholders, has decided to reschedule the Edo Governorship Election to Wednesday, September 28, 2016.”

Residents Find 9-Month Old Baby At Shodipo Crawling To The Road (Photo)

Residents of Shodipo Crescent in the Ikeja Government Reserved Area of Lagos State were shocked on Wednesday to find an abandoned baby boy crawling on the road.

Punch Metro learnt that the nine-month-old baby, whose name had yet to be ascertained, was seen crawling by residents, who quickly alerted some policemen on patrol in the area.

It was gathered that the child was picked up by the policemen and brought to the Lagos State Police Command headquarters, Ikeja.

The baby was thereafter taken for a checkup.

It was gathered that the nine-month-old was believed to have crawled out of his parents’ apartment, although no resident in the area had showed up for the baby boy.

A police source told Punch Metro that the child would remain in the police custody until his family showed up with concrete proofs of relationship.

She said, “We found the boy on Shodipo Crescent in the Ikeja GRA. He is about nine months old. He was found crawling on the road. Some residents thereafter alerted some policemen on patrol.

“The police team rescued the baby. So far, nobody has come up to claim the baby. He must have left the custody of his parents or guardian and that is how some children fall into the hands of kidnappers and ritual killers. He is still with us at the command headquarters.”

I acted under influence of an evil spirit - Gateman who murdered of Lagos bizwoman in Ajah

Vanguard Newspaper is reporting a new update on the 22-year-old gateman, Tanko Abdulateef, who murdered the General Manager of a bureau-de change company at her Victoria Garden City, Ajah, Lagos, apartment last month.

The remains of the 50-year-old businesswoman, Mabel Okafor, were discovered in her sitting room two days after the act, by her church members. However, her gateman, who bolted, was arrested in Bali, Taraba State, with three phones belonging to the deceased and some of her personal effects.

Tanko said:
“I stabbed her four times on the stomach. We had no quarrel. She called me inside andinstructed me to trim the flowers. Thereafter, I started playing with the knife.
Before I knew it, I was possessed by a mysterious force. Immediately, I stood up from my room and went straight to my madam’s sitting room. She thought I wanted to inform her that someone was looking for her. I stabbed her on the stomach.
She shouted for help and asked what she had done to deserve what I was doing. I did not respond, but continued to stab her until she fell at the fourth strike.
I removed the knife and cleaned the blood on her cloth before leaving the sitting room. As I stepped outside, the man at the boys quarter came out and asked why my madam was shouting, I told him it was because she saw some cockroaches and he went back to his apartment.
I later went inside and discovered she was dead. I collected the purse that was by her side and removed the N10,000 I found inside. I also collected her three phones and some of her clothes and went to sleep in my room. Next day, I travelled to my home town.”
Tanko said he sold the phones for N20,000 each in Taraba State, but kept the clothes with the intention of giving them to his would-be wife.

Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Police Command, Mr Fatai Owoseni, who paraded the suspect at the command’s headquarters, Ikeja, yesterday, explained that the suspect was tracked to a hideout in Bali, Taraba State, where the deceased’s stolen items, which include three phones, trinkets and clothes, were recovered.

During interrogation, Owoseni said that the suspect took detectives to a bush where he hid the knife he used to kill Okafor, adding that investigation showed that there was an accomplice in the murder saga and assured that he would be arrested.

Driver steals UNILAG lecturer’s ATM card, withdraws N2.7m

                                  • Yaba Magistrate’s Court File photo
A driver, Mayowa Adenuga, has been arrested by operatives of the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly stealing his boss’ Automated Teller Machine card and withdrawing over N2.7m.

Also arrested were suspected accomplices in the crime – Adewale Opeyemi, 18, and Jeremiah Iyitoye, 29.
PUNCH Metro gathered that 25-year-old Adenuga, who is also a computer expert, was employed as a driver by a lecturer at UNILAG, Prof. Simbo Banjoko.
It was learnt that the suspect had driven Banjoko to the Bells University on the day of the incident.
While waiting for his boss on the university premises, the driver found Banjoko’s Zenith Bank ATM card in the car and hid it.
Our correspondent gathered that when the victim did not notice that his ATM card was missing, Adenuga used software to uncover the card’s PIN code.
After withdrawing N200,000 from the bank account through the ATM, he allegedly bought four iPhones, valued at N495,000; one Macbook laptop, valued at N415,000; 10 wristwatches, a Blackberry and a ring.
It was learnt that a total of N2,728,255 was withdrawn from the victim’s bank account.
The theft of the ATM card was said to have been referred to the Rapid Response Squad, which later transferred the case to the Anti-Vice Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba.
A source said the prime suspect, Adenuga, perfected the crime by blocking his boss’ telephone line so that he would not see the alert of transactions conducted on his account.
He said, “The suspect is the lecturer’s driver. He is also a computer expert. He hid the ATM card for three days and when he saw that the man did not look for it, he used software to get the PIN.  He called Adewale (Opeyemi) and handed over the card to him for safekeeping, saying it belonged to his sister.
“When he drove his boss out again at another time, he had access to the man’s phone and deliberately entered the wrong PUK number three times which led to the blockage of the line.”
Our correspondent was told that having succeeded in blocking the line, the suspect contacted Opeyemi and linked him up with another friend, Iyitoye.
He allegedly asked the duo to make transactions with the card on his behalf.
The two men were said to have gone to Shoprite, Ikeja, and Mega Plaza, Victoria Island, where they withdrew N200,000 and purchased the iPhones, Macbook laptop, wristwatches and other items through POS transactions.
It was gathered that the loot was shared among the three men.
A police source explained that Banjoko, who noticed that his telephone line had been blocked, took it to a telecoms centre, where it was reactivated.
“At that point, he received 30 alerts that a total of N2,728,255 had been withdrawn from his account. He reported the matter to the police, and the case was transferred to the RRS.
“When the matter got to the Anti-Vice Section of the SCIID, the police arrested the driver and after interrogation, he confessed to the crime and named his accomplices.
“The police recovered two iPhones 6S Plus, two iPhones SSE, one Macbook laptop, seven GT Shock wristwatches, one Blackberry Z10, one ring and two bags,” the source added.
The suspects were arraigned at the Yaba Magistrate’s Court on two counts of stealing.
The charge read in part, “That you, Mayowa Adenuga, Adewale Opeyemi and Jeremiah Iyitoye, on July 2, 2016, on Olanireti Fesan Street, Magodo, Isheri, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did steal the sum of N2,728,255 only, property of one Professor Simbo Banjoko.”
The police said the offence was punishable under sections 409 and 285 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2011
The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Erinle, admitted them to bail in the sum of N800,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She added that one of the sureties must be a blood relation of the defendants, who must be a landlord within the jurisdiction of the court.

For seven hours, armed robbers recently  laid a seige to the apartment of a couple in Ikorodu area of Lagos recently.

The landlord who is simply called John, was ordered to lie face down for the entire period. At the end of the ordeal, and as the hoodlums were about to leave, they found the victim dead, possibly of cardiac arrest.
The suspect, who led the gang, Akin Ayotunde, recalled what happened in the seven-hour siege.
Ayotunde, who was paraded, yesterday by the Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Owoseni, said,” on the fateful day, about two weeks now. Ahmed brought information that we would get good money and other valuables from a family. I don’t know the family’s name. We were five who went there.
“We were armed with cutlasses, daggers and iron rods. When we arrived in the house,we scaled through the fence. As we jumped inside the compound, the owner came out and challenged us,but when he saw that we were armed and many,he surrendered himself to us. I told him to cooperate, as we won’t hurt him. We marched him to his sitting room, where we met his wife and children watching home video. The family did not wait for instruction from us as they lay face down.
“We took the children to one of the rooms where we locked them up while we marched the wife to her room and collected some jewellery, three phones and some personal effects. When we got to the parlour where the man was lying,he was snoring abnormally I was wondering what was wrong with a man whose house was under attack and he would be sleeping and snoring.
“I searched his pockets, and I collected N20,000. I don’t know why he should be having that kind of money in his pocket. Well, we collected the wife’s ATM card which one of us used to collect about N60,000 in her account. We came inside the house at about 9 pm, and thought that if we left at about 10pm we may run into the police or vigilance group.  We stayed back. We opened the refrigerator, collected some fruits. We ate to our fill.
“The unexpected happened at about 4am as we were about leaving. We packed some items like Plasma television, Laptops, shoes and many other things. We needed the key to his Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV), We  started waking him up, but the man did not respond.. I suspected danger. I checked his pulse, I did not need a doctor to tell me that the man has died of hypertension.
“I called him a coward, because,we did not harass the family. Why did the man die?Well,we saw the key to the vehicle and we packed the loot and drove off around 4.20am before the wife could discover and raise the alarm.
“I think it was the man’s blood that found me out. I took the car to a dealer,Enyojo. He wanted to sell the car and the buyer knew the owner. They called the police. They set me up. I was told to come for the money at  Ojota. When I got there,I was arrested.
“I have begged God for forgiveness. God knows that we did not intend to kill the man.I know he will forgive me, because I am an orphan. I lost my parents at the age of two. I am an Igbo man, but my grandmother, a Yoruba, brought me up. That is why I bear Yoruba name.” he said.
Owoseni said the suspect was helping the police on how to arrest the rest of the gang.
