England Rugby International Danny Cipriani Fined For Assault in Jersey Nightclub

England rugby international Danny Cipriani has been fined £2,000 after an assault in a Jersey nightclub. The Gloucester player pleaded guilty to common assault and resisting arrest and was ordered to pay £250 compensation to a woman police officer.

Three other charges - assault on police, larceny and being disorderly on licensed premises were dropped.

The 30-year-old fly-half has seven days to pay the fine and compensation or face 10 weeks in prison.

Defence advocate Mike Preston said Cipriani was sorry for the "confusing situation" and was "mortified if he harmed the police officer in any way".

Jersey Magistrates' Court was told he "had too many drinks" at Drift nightclub in The Royal Yacht Hotel, St Helier, and police were called when Cipriani tried to grab a body camera off a doorman.
Mr Preston argued his client did this because fame had made him more sensitive to being filmed and he was confused by the situation.

He was later picked up by police but managed to escape from his cuffs and a second officer was needed to restrain him.

Cipriani is said to have sworn at the woman officer, telling her to get off him.

The court heard she was left with bruises on her bicep and red marks on her neck.

The former Wasps and Sale stand-off did not think he had done anything wrong at the time and did not understand why the police had been called, the court was told.

He was in the island with his club as part of a pre-season tour and was supported in court by Gloucester team captain Willi Heinz.

'Boo has some serious bowel control issues" Johnny Depp ‘Accuses Ex-Wife Amber Heard Of Defecating In Their Marital Bed

Amber Heard is accused of intentionally defecating in the marital bed she shared with Johnny Depp after a blazing row in the months leading up to their acrimonious separation and subsequent divorce.

Heard allegedly soiled the bed as a malicious prank after the Hollywood star arrived two-hours late for her 30th birthday party in April 2016, according to The Mirror.

Sources claim the warring couple’s housekeeper discovered excrement on the sheets after Depp, 55, stormed out of their Los Angeles penthouse following a heated row.

It’s understood that ‘strong photographic evidence’ links Heard to the reported incident, while the actress has since claimed the fecal matter was left by their dog, Boo.

A source told The Mirror: 'Boo has some serious bowel control issues. There was never a joke, it wasn’t something done to be disrespectful.

'It was an innocent thing, it’s what pets will do. We don’t have anything else to say. Ms. Heard is moving on and we do not want to engage in this nonsense.'

The dogs, Pistol and Boo, were last in the news when Heard flew them into Australia on a private jet without putting them through quarantine in 2015.

Depp's ex-wife avoided jail time when she pleaded guilty to falsifying border protection documents when when she imported the teacup Yorkshire terriers into Australia. Heard was handed a one-month good behavior bond and fined $1,000.

The couple also produced an apology video that was played in court, and later went viral. 'When you disrespect Australian law,' Depp deadpans in the video, 'they will tell you firmly'.

The incident sparked global headlines when Agriculture Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce said the dogs had better 'bugger off' back to the US or he'd arrange to have them put down.

It was alleged the pooches were not declared to customs officials on arrival.

The presence of the A-list canines was only discovered when their visit to a Gold Coast dog grooming salon was made public.

The dogs were quickly whisked out of the country before a 72-hour deadline lapsed when the canines would have to be seized.

45 Sentenced To Death In Libya Over 2011 Killings

A Libyan criminal court has sentenced 45 militiamen to death by firing squad for killing demonstrators in Tripoli in 2011, the justice ministry says.

They are accused of opening fire on dozens as rebel forces closed in on the capital during the uprising against former leader Colonel Muammar Gaddafi.

It is thought to be the highest number of death sentences handed out since the overthrow of the regime, AFP reports.

Libya has struggled to restore peace since the uprising seven years ago.

Aside from the 45 sentenced to death, 54 more were given five-year jail terms and another 22 were acquitted of charges relating to demonstrator deaths.

It was not known when the accused were arrested, charged or prosecuted.

The case, referred to by the Libyan Justice Ministry as Abu Salim No 2015-1477, is known locally as the Triq al-Sareeh case.
