There are indications of hostilities within the camp of militant groups in the Niger Delta region.

This was as the Niger Delta Avengers berated the Niger Delta Greenland Justice Mandate, NDGJM, for claiming responsibility for most of the attacks carried out on pipeline in the region.

NDGJM has severally claimed responsibility for attack on pipeline installations across the oil rich region.

But Avengers spokesperson, Mudoch Agbinibo, in a series of tweets on its twitter handle @AgbinibiND, on Monday said NDGJM was making false claims.

Aginibo wrote: “Niger Delta Greenland Justice Mandate, NDGJM group blowing up of 3-inch and 6- inch flow lines shouldn’t give you wings.

“NDGJM, why not try your hands on major pipelines if you can. NDGJM, stop claiming responsibilities for bombings carried out by wannabes and aggrieved youths that are not part of your group.

Court Goes Against Monthly Lagos Environmental Sanitation

The Appeal Court in Lagos has nullified the monthly environmental sanitation in Lagos State, saying it is illegal and ordered the Lagos State Government not to restrict people’s movement on that day.

The court banned the state government from further restricting anyone’s movement within Lagos State at any time or day whatsoever on the basis of environmental sanitation as there is no written law to that effect.

Justice Ugochukwu Ogakwu of the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division held that in the absence of a written law prescribing the same, the governor’s directive for people in Lagos State to stay at home and not to move about thereby restricting movement of persons in Lagos State within the hours of 7.00am to 10.00am on the last Saturday of every month was unlawful, illegal and unconstitutional.

The suit was brought before the court by a citizen, Faith Okafor (Appellant) against the Lagos State Government (Respondent).

Kidnappers Abduct Newly Married Lady In FESTAC Lagos

Kidnapping for ransom on the increase. There is tension on E1 Close, 7th Avenue in FESTAC Town area of Lagos after gunmen invaded the area and abducted two residents.

The victims are a 45yrs old man, Remigus Igwe and a young married lady, 26yrs old Oluchi Jovita.

According to The Punch, the assailants, said to be four men in military uniform, went to the area in a speedboat around 10pm last Thursday.

The gunmen, who also wore masks, dragged the married lady out of her apartment.

The abductors, who sneaked into E1 Close from an opening created in a fence, also brought out Igwe, who lived close to Oluchi Jovita, and whisked away the two victims through a bush path.

The gunmen were said to have escaped in a speedboat through the river beside FESTAC Town.

The matter was reported at FESTAC Town Police Division, and operatives went to the scene, where they searched in vain for the abducted residents and the gunmen.

On Monday, Jovita and Igwe’s apartments were locked.

A resident, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said they did not shoot in order not to alert anyone.

He said, “It was around 10pm on Thursday. Most of us had locked our gates. The gunmen went to the apartments of their victims and ordered them out at gunpoint. They did not use the gates and they did not shoot so as not to arouse suspicion.

“It was after they had left that news got to me that two persons were abducted. The policemen came to this place, but the gunmen had escaped. We suspect that there could be an insider giving information to the kidnappers.

“The two residents have yet to return home. Their families may have been contacted for ransoms, but nobody knows.”

A police source at the division said the operatives saw the footsteps of the gunmen, adding that their escape was successful because they came on a speedboat.

He said, “The woman’s husband, Eze, came to the station around 11pm to report that his wife and another neighbour had been abducted.

“Policemen from the division mounted a stop-and-search points on the roads, but there was no result.

“We came across the kidnappers footsteps along the bank of the Amuwo Odofin river. That made the arrest difficult because the hoodlums came and escaped through the waterways. They broke the fence and attacked their victims.”

The matter had been transferred to the State Department of Criminal Intelligence and Investigation.

Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, confirmed the incident. She said, “The case is under investigation. Effort is in top gear to get the abductees freed.”

I couldn't hold back my tears - Zahra Buhari writes on the burial of our 7 heroes

President Buhari's daughter, Zahra Buhari shared her experience at the burial of the seven soldiers who died while fighting.
Read what she wrote after the cut...

"Today, I experienced a burial for the first time in my life. Right before my eyes I saw our 7 heroes laid to rest, I couldn't hold back my tears. I looked up and saw my mother wiping away her tears and then Lt. Gen. Buratai's voice shaking as he gave his touching speech to bid good bye for the last time. Lt Gen Buratai listed town after town, village after village that were recaptured by the army led by our 7 fallen soldiers.
Tears rolled down as though I had known them all my life. They sacrificed everything they had for us and gave it their all in every battle. I thought to myself "This is the epitome of patriotism!" .
All our fallen heroes shall not be forgotten. The patriotism I had in my heart before the burial was very much but by the end of the event it had doubled!! We have"..no country but Nigeria. We shall remain here and savage it together"
The bravery, courage and patriotism of our soldiers is an example to every Nigerian, it is the true definition of "leading by example" .
May Almighty shower his blessings and mercy on all our fallen heroes. You shall never be forgotten. ❤️ - Zahra MB"

Man who raped neighbor's goat to death tells why he did it

A man who was nearly lynched to death by an angry mob after he raped a goat says he had sex with the animal because he was rejected by women.

Gabrielle Simiyu was caught in the act by his neighbour late at night and angry residents claimed it wasn't the first time the motorcycle taxi operator had violated farm animals in their village.

They claimed the 26-year-old had previously engaged in sex acts with a cow and chicken.
Simiyu was arrested after the female goat's owner, Richard Wanyonyi, heard bleating and checked his shed in the village of Nangwe, Kenya, on Friday night.

He told KU TV :

"I thought my animals were strangling each other so I tiptoed to the cow shed and flashed my torch.I was shocked when I found the man but he ran away very fast.
"Since it was at night I did not see him very well so I took the shoes he left behind and began a search in the morning."
Kenyan media said Simiyu admitted having sex with the animal and pleaded for forgiveness.
He said:
"I have a serious problem and need help. Every time I approach a girl she refuses and it really pains me."I am appealing to well-wishers to take me to a doctor or a specialist so the problem I have can be identified."
Mr Wanyonyi claimed Simiyu told him he had been rejected by women at a funeral earlier that night.

The police in Lagos State have arrested a man, Adeyemi Adekunle, for allegedly brutalising his eight-year-old son in the Dopemu area of the state.

Our correspondent learnt that Adekunle, who was arrested by the Dopemu Police Division on Monday, allegedly fractured the boy’s two arms for missing from home for two days.
It was gathered that the boy, whose name was not disclosed by the police, had gone missing on Saturday from their apartment on Kolawole Street, Dopemu.
Adekunle was said to have gone to the police on Sunday to report a case of missing person.
PUNCH Metro was told that the victim was, however, seen on Monday wandering in the area, after which the father was informed.
Our correspondent gathered that Adekunle, who had reportedly divorced the victim’s mother and remarried, allegedly beat up his son, and broke his two arms.
A police source told PUNCH Metro that the police found four other siblings locked up in a room in Adekunle’s apartment after his arrest.
He said, “The man had confessed in his statement that he was guilty of beating his son, and the four other children, whom his first wife has for him. The boy was reported to us by the dad as missing on Saturday.
“However, when the boy was found on Monday, the father got angry, thinking that the victim played a prank on him and descended heavily on him. The dad caused serious fracture to the boy’s arms in the process.
“We also found four other children locked up in the man’s house when we got there. It was the suspect’s landlord that came to report the beating.”
Our correspondent learnt that the case had been transferred to the gender unit of the state command in Ikeja for further investigation.
A resident of Kolawole Street said the victim had been taken to a hospital, where he was recuperating.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, confirmed the arrest.
She added that the suspect would be charged to court at the end of investigation.
She said, “The father is alleged to have consistently assaulted his children after he divorced his first wife who is their mother. The gender unit is investigating the matter after which the suspect will be charged to court.
“The child with the fractured hands is in the hospital, while the command is liaising with the Lagos State Government to place the children in shelters until we see their mother. If the mother is able to take good care of them, the police will release the children to her.”
Meanwhile, the state command has arrested two robbery suspects – Ishola Dauda and Segun Idowu – who attacked some Automated Teller Machine users in the Apapa area of the state.
Our correspondent learnt that the robbery suspects, who came on a motorcycle, had a Beretta pistol with number, M1911A167, containing five rounds of 0.9mm live ammunition.
PUNCH Metro gathered that the suspects, at about 11am last Tuesday, struck at the ATM point on Liverpool Road.
They were said to have been arrested by a patrol team from the Apapa division, while attempting to dispossess a man of N300,000.
The police spokesperson, Badmos, confirmed the arrest, adding that investigation was in progress.
