Car dealer Assaulted by Nigerian Soldier for not finding car buyers

A car dealer was brutally assaulted by an officer of the Nigerian Army, for not finding car buyers for a car he wanted to sell.
It is alleged that the car dealer, who couldn't find buyers for the car he repaired with his
money, returned the car to the soldier, who accused him of spoiling the car. This led to the assault incident in Umuahia, the capital of Abia State.

As a way of encouraging people to work hard, successful music producer and also Five Star Music manager, Soso Soberekon, has advised young Nigerians not to get initiated to demonic cults or confraternities as a shortcut to success.
According to him, the mistake young people make is thinking successful people, literally
became successful overnight. He also stressed that hardwork, smart work, guts, determination, taking risks and consistency, is all you need to get to the apex of whatever field you're in, in his Instagram post.

There is no short cut to making it, getting rich or 'hammering' if you will.'

The mistake you make is thinking successful people literally become successful overnight. This simply doesn't happen.

Former U17 Captain Kelechi Nwakali honored by Prince of Maastricht

Kelechi Nwakali, who led the Nigerian U17 team to win a record fifth Fifa U17 World Cup title in Chile 2015, met with the Prince of Maastricht in Netherlands.
Kelechi met the royalty, after his club's 3-0 win over FC Oss on Monday. He played a crucial role in Ron Elsen side's win, before being cautioned in the 83rd minute.

Kelechi who joined the Dutch club, De Geusselt, on loan in mid-september from Arsenal FC, has been featured 16 times in matches played by the club. Nigeria's most decorated player, Kanu Nwankwo, was also present at the occasion.

Controversial journalist, Kemi Olunloyo is at again, and this time Gov. Ambode of Lagos is the victim of her "investigative journalism anger".

Kemi called out the Lagos State Governor, for being selective in his fight for justice for residents and pastors in the state. According to her Richard Nyong of Lekki gardens, has been charged with
manslaughter of 35 people who died in  collapsed building, while TB Joshua has not been charged with manslaughter, for the death of 100 South Africans, who died in his church's collapsed building. She also disclosed that the Pastor has not shown up for his court cases, nor compensated families of those who died in his church.

Nollywood actor, Uche Maduagwu has continued taking a swipe at actors in the Nigerian movie industry. In his new post, the actor claims that most single nollywood actresses don't wear pants while on set.
According to him, he personally knows 4 star actresses who do
that, and it is giving him headache. The actor also went ahead to share a story of what happened, while on set in Asaba.

"Its so shameful and disgusting... Why is it that most female celebrities, especially Nollywood actresses who are single have developed the habit of not wearing pants to movie locations?
I can tell you of 4 different star actresses I had personally confirmed, and this is really giving me headaches because, aside the very fact that it is suspicious, its also disgusting. 

That's why most of our directors are always losing concentration when they are directing on set, the worst is that these group of actresses are fond of spreading their legs wide unnecessarily just to seduce fellow actors and directors... 

Their aim and motives are what I am yet to understand, that's how I walked out of a shoot in Asaba when one actress was just misbehaving on set, someone said she just finished smoking marijuana, but that's not my own business, I am an actor and not her doctor, but what I frown at is when someone is opening her legs any how and misbehaving in  the middle of a shoot, distracting both the directors, actors and crews, that's what I can't stand, if we want to shoot a movie, let's be professional and let's not turn movie locations into strip clubs. Super Eagles Onazi undergoes surgery, pictured on hospital bed

Super Eagles of Nigeria and Trabzonspor midfielder Ogenyi Onazi had Haemorrhoids surgery in Turkey recently and, according to sources, it was successful.

Although the player has remained quiet over his ailment, he was advised to undergo an immediate operation to avoid further complications.

The club also confirmed the report by posting the picture of the surgery while wishing the player better times with them.

Details: Haemorrhoids are swollen veins in the lowest part of your rectum and anus. Sometimes the walls of these blood vessels stretch so thin that the veins bulge and get irritated, especially when you poop. 

Swollen haemorrhoids are also called piles.

Israeli Soldier Gets 18 Months For Killing Wounded Palestinian Attacker

An Israeli soldier who killed a wounded Palestinian attacker in a high-profile case that split opinion across the country has been jailed for 18 months.

Sgt Elor Azaria was found guilty of manslaughter for shooting dead 21-year-old Abdul Fatah al-Sharif in Hebron, in the occupied West Bank, last March.

Azaria had told a colleague that Sharif, who had stabbed another soldier, "deserved to die".

Military chiefs condemned his actions, but others praised them.


The offence carries a sentence of up to 20 years, though prosecutors had called for Azaria to be jailed for between three and five years.

Sharif's family had called for Azaria to be jailed for life.

Azaria, who was also ordered demoted, sat smiling broadly, embraced by his mother, as the judgment was read out, says the BBC's Jonny Dymond who was at the court.

The judge said his crime was mitigated by the fact that it was his first conviction, that it had occurred in an active military scene and that there had been no clear orders as to how he was supposed to act.

Dozens of right-wing protesters had gathered outside the Tel Aviv Defence Ministry headquarters, where the military court hearing took place.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had said he would support any decision to pardon Azaria.

The killing received widespread coverage after footage of the incident, filmed on a mobile phone, was shown on Israeli news programmes.

It showed Azaria cocking his gun and firing at the head of Sharif, who was lying apparently incapacitated on the ground after being shot and wounded following the stabbing attack.

The court which convicted Azaria dismissed his claim that he had acted out of fear that Sharif might have been wearing an explosive vest.

The case fuelled debate in Israel over when and how soldiers are entitled to use lethal force against attackers.

The killing occurred amid a wave of attacks by Palestinians that had killed 29 Israelis over the preceding five months.

Following the incident military chiefs and the prime minister came under fire from right-wing sections of society - including members of Mr Netanyahu's cabinet - for criticising Azaria's actions.

Mr Netanyahu later telephoned Azaria's father to offer reassurance.

NAFDAC investigates "NAFDAC Number" on imported Indian garri

As reports of an imported Indian garri sold in Nigerian supermarkets went viral, the The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), has reacted to the report, after being accused of supporting the product.
The food and drug agency, disclosed that preliminary investigation into the imported
garri product, revealed that it had no NAFDAC number.

Here's the official statement from the agency;

"This is the tweet that first caught our attention on Sunday 19th February 2017. It is about a certain pack of Imported Garri with the source given as India, which was found on the shelve of a Nigerian supermarket.

We knew we had work to do, and Monday 20th we did. Our actions and findings are outlined below: (Updates via @NafdacNigeria) -NAFDAC Officers visited the Supermarket in Ikoyi today -26 packets of 500mg each of the products were seized for analysis -The product has no NAFDAC number -

The product is said to be from Ghana but packaged in UK -The Management of the Supermarket have been invited for further discussion in our Lagos office Investigation continues."

Viki Odintcova, 23, was held up only by the hand of a male assistant as she leaned out into thin air from the 1,004-foot tall Cayan Tower in Dubai in a bid to get the perfect Instagram shot.

The Russian model first tilted backwards over the huge drop, before dangling high above the ground from the arm of her bearded helper.

Her video and photos went viral and was brought to the attention of the local police, who dragged her into custody and made her sign she won’t try it again.  

Plane crash into Melbourne shopping center, leaves 5 dead

A Beechcraft plane, crashed  into a shopping centre near the Australian city of Melbourne, killing 5 people on board.The incident which has been described as the state's worst air accident in three decades, happened

after a private charter from Essendon, north of Melbourne on its way to King Island, smashed into
the shopping center just 55 minutes to the south.

It came down on a major motorway, packed with the heavy traffic of early morning commuters.

Investigators have already been sent to the crash site by the Australian Safety Transport Bureau, while Essendon Fields had been closed, and all traffic diverted to Melbourne's two larger airports Tullamarine and Avalon.

Graphic photos of wife killed by husband for alleged rituals

A Lagos driver, Shakiru Bello, who was arrested for allegedly killing his wife, Sherifat, said he cut her remains into pieces to escape the wrath of her father, Akeem Atanda, and to avoid being prosecuted for her death.
Shakiru added that after hiding her remains in different uncompleted buildings in Lagos, he fled to Ibadan, Oyo State.
                    
A team from the Ijora Badia Police Division, led by the Operations Officer, ASP Talabi Segun, recovered Sherifat’s head and neck in Morocco, Yaba, while other parts of her body were recovered in another uncompleted building on Moshalashi Street, Somolu.

Punch reports that Sherifat and Shakiru, who were married for over nine years, were separated in July 2016.

The victim, who lived on Daramola Street in the Ijora Badia area, had, however, last Monday reportedly demanded money for the upkeep of their three children.Shakiru was said to have invited her to a location where they allegedly met.

She never returned home.The victim’s father, Akeem, on Tuesday reported a case of missing person to the police, leading to a search for the suspect.

A source said Akeem told policemen that an unidentified number called him that his daughter fell into a lagoon. The source said, “The police tracked the number, and discovered that the caller was in Ibadan. He was arrested and brought down to Lagos around 1am on Saturday.”

The suspect was said to have led the police to the two uncompleted buildings where the remains of the late Sherifat were recovered. Shakiru said,“After we separated, I secretly reconciled with her and we started meeting. On the average, I gave her N15,000 in a week. On that Monday, she called me that she needed money and we agreed to meet.

Task Force Officials Batter LASU Student For Videoing Operation

A 500-level part-time Business Administration student of the Lagos State University is battling with a broken arm and injuries allegedly inflicted on her face by operatives of the Lagos State Taskforce on Environmental and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit.

The student, 28-year-old Sewuese Matthew, was reportedly battered for using her foster sister’s mobile phone to video the operation of the officials on Durosimi-Etti Drive, in the Lekki Phase 1 area of the state.

The foster sister, Lilian Ifemeludike, told Punch Metro that she was also assaulted by the task force men.

It was learnt that Ifemeludike and Matthew had gone to repair a punctured tyre at a vulcaniser’s stand on the estate when a team of enforcement agents stormed the area, seizing the machine for allegedly causing environmental nuisance.


A Punch correspondent gathered that the vulcaniser begged the officials, while Ifemeludike also urged the officials to allow him to repair the tyre.

Matthew, in a chat with Punch Metro on Monday, said she decided to record with the phone when the scene turned rowdy, but was caught by an operative, who allegedly punched her in the face.

She said other officials joined in the assault, pummeling her and Ifemeludike and later seizing the phone.

The student said, “On Wednesday, February 8, my sister and I were going out of the estate in her car, when the car had a flat tyre. While we were at the vulcanizer’s place trying to fix the tyre, the task force officials stormed the area and packed wares displayed by the roadside.

“There was chaos and some people were filming what was happening. I also tried to do so while my sister was pleading with them. A tall policeman among them walked up to me, snatched the phone and started punching me.

“I ran to my sister, crying. He smashed the phone on the ground and she picked it. The officer and other policemen chased her and started hitting her until they collected the phone from her. I rushed there and pleaded with them to leave her. They punched me in the mouth, face and neck. I also broke my hand.”

Matthew stated that they followed the officials to the task force office in Oshodi and reported the incident to the task force Chairman, SP Olayinka Egbeyemi, who condemned the assault.

“But when the officials appeared before the chairman, they told him a different story, saying we insulted them. The chairman then vowed to deal with us and we were detained. The next morning, they charged us to court in Ogba. I could not meet up my bail conditions that day, so I was taken to the Kirikiri Prison without my injuries being treated. I was released on Friday when the bail was perfected and I went to the Lagos Island General Hospital for treatment,” she added.

Ifemeludike, a United Nations Women Empowerment champion, said the officials’ conduct was a breach of the enforcement ethics, saying her phone, a Samsung Galaxy S7, had yet to be released.

“What pained me most was the fact that they punched my sister in the eye. They could have arrested her if they felt she had done something wrong.

“Security operatives need to know when to use force and understand that they are dealing with humans. We were wrongly charged to court and my sister is still traumatised by what she went through in Kirikiri,” she said.

The Public Relations Officer, National Association of Nigerian Students, Idowu Odebunmi, said the association would hold a protest against the alleged assault on February 28.

“Police abuse remains one of the most serious human rights violations in the world. There have been several reports of unjustified shootings, unlawful arrests, extortion, unlawful killings and rough treatment meted out to students, with the most recent being an unjustifiable attack unleashed on one of our female students, Sewuese Matthew,” he added.

The spokesperson for the task force, Taofiq Adebayo, stated that videoing contravened the law of the agency, adding that the phone was being kept as an exhibit.

He, however, denied that the women were assaulted by the officials.

He said, “No responsible and responsive government will allow activities that contradict the state environmental law to go on. In the course of enforcing the law on the walkway on the estate, the machine of a vulcaniser was impounded. He had been warned several times not to position his machine by the roadside.

“The ladies in question were not directly involved in the matter. But because they wanted to gauge the tyre, they intervened. One of them started filming with a phone. In enforcement, we don’t allow such. She was saying all sorts of things against the chairman and the state governor.

“The case is now in court and the phone is still with the court as an exhibit. They were never assaulted. Members of the public don’t have the right to record enforcement agents performing their lawful duties without the permission of the authority.”

Heartbroken lover paints on bae's £100k Range Rover in London

The owner of a high-performance custom Range Rover, in Richmond, south London, seem to be a victim of a lover's heartbreak.

The yet to be identified car owner stepped out of his house to see 'cheater', 'heart-breaker' and 'rot in hell' visibly painted on his £100k car.
This same brand of car, was used for publicity stunt almost one year ago, outside Harrods in
Knightsbridge.

The car also had the words 'cheater – it’s over' and 'hope she was worth it' gratified on it.

A red paint was also used on the white diesel Range Rover Vogue outside the store in Basil Street, in May last year, with hundreds of people gathering to take pictures of the car, which turned out to be a publicity stunt.

Cristiano Ronaldo Makes Acting Debut With Angelina Jolie

Cristiano Ronaldo will join Angelina Jolie in a TV series about Syrian refugees. The Real Madrid star will be one of a number of celebrities who make a cameo appearance in the show.

The series will focus on a Syrian family who flees the war-torn country.

“We will begin filming in the first week of April, the series is about the plight of a refugee family and what they go through,” director Eyup Dirlik, told Turkish media.


"There will be appearances from actors and actresses from all over the world including Cristiano Ronaldo, Angelina Jolie and Nancy Ajram," he disclosed.

Ronaldo has spoken about the refugee crisis in the country before, telling children in Syria: "Don't lose your hope."

In a video message on Twitter last December, he said: 'The world is with you. We care about you. I am with you.”

He also made a donation to Save the Children.
