24-year-old girl set to marry 64-year-old fiance

A young woman engaged to a man 40 years her senior, and 20 years older than her parents has hit back at critics who assume he's her grandfather.
Erica Gower, 24, is set to marry her fiance Robb Taylor, 64, who she says is "sexy".

Besotted Erica gushed it was "love at first sight" after being serenaded by the performer Robb Taylor at a bar in their hometown of Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania, USA.

Initially she thought Robb was in his 40s, but even after finding out his true age she agreed to go on a date with the singer two years ago.

Within six months the couple were engaged, despite disapproval from people who say Robb is "old enough to be her grandfather".

The couple, who celebrate their two-year anniversary this month, maintain they have "no reason to be ashamed".

Erica said:

"I guess it was love at first sight. When I saw him, he was very handsome and a great singer, there was just something about him that drew me to him.
He looked so sexy, he had sexy eyes, sexy hair and then the cutest smile.
Robb doesn't look his age at all, I thought he was 40 at first and couldn't believe it when he told me he was in his 60s.
The big age difference is perfect for me because he is very mature and I don't have to worry about any games, he knows what he wants in life as well as I do.
People have told me it's wrong because 'he is old enough to be my grandfather, that it's gross and I must be sick' but I just ignore it.
I think it's a generational thing. Young people see it as 'disturbing' and 'gross' they can be pretty rude, whereas older people are happy for him.
I don't care what people think, Rob makes me very happy – there is never a day that passes where he doesn't put a smile of my face or make me laugh.
He encourages me and loves me more than anyone ever has, I know it because he shows me every day."

An accused, Abubakar Mustapha, who allegedly defiled a nine-year-old girl and also slapped her for refusing to be defiled again was on Monday arraigned at an Ogudu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State.

Mustapha, 28, of Agu-Fayo St., Mile 12 in Lagos State, is facing a three- count of defilement, attempt to commit rape and assault.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Ihiehie Lucky, told the court that the offence was committed on Dec. 29, 2016 at Mile 12.

He said the complainant; Mrs Salisu Dada, came to the Ketu Police Station to report a case of defilement of her daughter by the accused, also her neighbour.

He said that the victim told the police that the accused made love to her on several occasions in 2016.

The accused would ask his victim to lie on a mat and would then insert his manhood into her private part.

The prosecutor said that on December 29, the accused came back to her and asked her to lie on a mat; but when she refused, he slapped her.

Lucky said that as a result of the slap, the victim became angry and told her mother what had been going on between her and the accused.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the offences.

He said that he was always having misunderstandings with the victim’s mother in the past and that must have been responsible for being framed.

The magistrate, Mrs O. Sule-Amzat, admitted the accused to a bail of N100,000 with two reliable sureties.

She adjourned the case to Jan. 26.

Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill broke up during her birthday weekend

It's official that Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill have split, and now we may have some insight as to what led to their split.
A source has told TMZ  Minaj and Meek Mill broke up after a nuclear fight during her birthday weekend last month ... and it wasn't about cheating.

TMZ reports:
Sources close to the ex-couple tell us... they weren't getting along in Turks and Caicos, because he was hanging with friends and not paying attention to her. She went nuts on him, he got pissed and left the island without her, and she said, "Screw this," and ended the relationship. Just that simple.
There are reports Meek had been cheating with a woman named Sonye Rasool and that's what set off Nicki. Sonye claims she and Meek hooked up years before Nicki, but fully denies any cheating and adds ... she's about to file defamation lawsuits against several outlets.
She also says she understands truth is a defense, but has no fear.
It's interesting ... the breakup appears to be over the small stuff, which makes you wonder if the door is still open.

Herdsmen Kill Four Policemen, Five Others In Adamawa, Kaduna

Fulani herdsmen, on Saturday, attacked Kwahine, Gidan dadi and Karalahi villages in the Demsa Local Government Area of Adamawa State, killing four policemen and three villagers.

Also, a Senator from the Southern Kaduna Senatorial District, Danjuma Laah, on Sunday, said despite the presence of troops, suspected Fulani herdsmen attacked Tsonje village, near Kagoro in the Kaura LGA of the Kaduna State on Saturday and killed two persons.

Tsonje is in the crisis-ridden Southern Kaduna.

The Adamawa State Police Command on Sunday confirmed the killings in the state but claimed that only three riot policemen were killed while two were missing.

Lumsambani Dilli, a member representing Demsa community in the state House of Assembly, however, said he was reliably informed by his constituents that three villagers and four policemen died in the attacks.

Dilli urged the state government to fish out the culprits, especially “the herdsmen who carried out the atrocious acts.”

The lawmaker, who said five other persons, who sustained serious injuries, had  been taken to the state specialist hospital, observed that there was more behind the attacks.

“If it is about the cows, they had been compensated. So, why then the attacks after compensation had been paid?” he stated.

It was learnt that the state government had, after a peace parley with the herdsmen who lost 47 cows to  the villagers, offered the aggrieved herdsmen N4.7m compensation.

It was gathered that the killed policemen were among those drafted to secure Kwayine, Gidan Dadi and Karlahi communities after clashes that followed the killing of 47 cows in the area.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, Othman Abubakar, who confirmed the development to newsmen in Yola, said four rifles, belonging to the policemen, were also missing.

Abubakar, a Superintendent of Police, said, “Fulani militia attacked the three villages and we lost three of our gallant MOPOL while two are missing.

“We have constituted a high-powered search team and by the special grace of God, we are going to recover our men.

“On the side of the civilians, two bodies have so far been recovered.”

The spokesman said the police had succeeded in killing scores of the militias who were however able to escape with their dead colleagues.

Abubakar said more mobile policemen and military personnel from the 23rd Armoured Brigade, Jalo Cantonment, had been deployed in the area to restore normalcy.

The state Governor, Muhammad Bindow, condemned the attack, which occurred less than 24 hours after a government delegation on peace-building mission visited the area.

The governor, in a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mallam Ahmad Sajoh, directed security agencies to deploy more personnel in the area.

Bindow described the attack as unfortunate and sad, especially coming after recent peace and confidence building efforts.

He said, “The governor feels highly disturbed that after he had sent delegation on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday to interface with the different communities in the area, a clash could occur so soon thereafter.”

He assured residents of the government’s resolve to restore peace to the affected areas and protect the lives of every citizen.

Bindow applauded the gallantry of the police in confronting the attackers and urged them not to relent until normalcy was fully restored.

Laah alleged that two persons were killed while another two men, who he identified as Ephraim Ezekiel(19) and Joshua Ladi (41),  were declared missing after the Kaduna attack.

Laah said, “Today, as we observed the National Mourning Day ordered by the Christian Association of Nigeria over the unabated killings of law abiding citizens of Nigeria in Southern Kaduna, and the forceful taking over of their land,  I wish to sadly inform you again, that two persons were killed yesterday (on Saturday) by the same marauding Fulani terrorists.

“I have been reliably informed that after the terrorists retreated to their well known camp behind Pasakori community at the foot of Kagoro mountain, a few kilometres away, two other persons have also been declared missing.”

Pastor Adeboye Slam FG over laws against Christians

                              Image result for Pastor adeboye

General Overseer (Worldwide) of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has warned the Federal Government to stop meddling in church matters, Daily Post reports.

Adeboye, who spoke yesterday at the Redemption Camp, Kilometre 46, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State, expressed worries over deliberate anti-Christian laws by the Federal Government against Christians.

“The government has been showing increasing interest in church affairs. Unfortunately, for us in RCCG, it might not be very helpful,” Adeboye said.
He accused the government of not allowing the church (RCCG) to continue with its stipulated lifetime 100 per cent salaries to its pensioners.“For example, when I decided on what will be the pension of our pastors, what I decided is not done anywhere in the world. That somebody will retire and continue to earn full salaries all his lifetime.
This, I started, but government stepped in and made a law that we should be contributing to pension fund.
We have to obey and we started doing that. The result is that pastors don’t get as much as they were getting under our own previous arrangement. But, what can we do? We have to obey the law,” he disclosed.

Adeboye disclosed that other fresh laws had been enacted by the government to ruffle the feathers of the church in the country, with a particularly targeted at the RCCG.
Adeboye also urged members of RCCG to register as card-carrying members of political parties ahead 2019 general elections.
His words:

“Now there are fresh laws. We have a rough idea of what the law is about.
Some people believe that RCCG is becoming too influential and we’re going to be more influential. When you get home, tell members to join a political party.
Join a party and become a card-carrying member of any party. Just join any party. We shall decide issues right from the ward level.
If you are not active at ward level, you’ll do what they plan and say at the top. Enrol in any party of your choice and have a card. When holding meetings at ward level to choose delegates, be there.
One Muslim in Ibadan said years ago that he didn’t know what’s wrong with Christians; that we help them to occupy political positions and refused to capitalise on our population. That’s going to change from now,” Adeboye stated.

Police Arrest Redeemed Pastor Over Burial of Murdered Boy

The police have arrested a cleric, Pastor Timothy Adigun, of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Shere Koro, Bwari Area Council, Abuja, for allegedly assisting a couple, Mr. and Mrs. Olaoye, to bury a boy that died in their home.

The couple had reportedly fled with the body of Ayomide Samuel, who died at their residence in the Zone B area of the community on December 25 last year.

The primary four pupil was said to have given up the ghost after he was allegedly hit on the head with an object by the housewife on Christmas Day.

The police had embarked on a manhunt for the couple for fleeing with Samuel’s corpse after they were directed to report the incident at the Bwari Divisional Police Station.

A source who was familiar with the investigation told Northern City News that Pastor Adigun was arrested by the police for assisting the wanted couple to bury the deceased in an unmarked grave in Shere Koro at night.

It was gathered that the couple had earlier taken the corpse of the boy to a clinic, but the workers reportedly asked them to bring a police report before they would admit the body.

The source said, “The workers at the clinic refused to admit the body when they saw blood all over the vehicle. Mr. Olaoye then approached the Chief of Shere Koro community to purchase a piece of land for the burial of the boy, but the chief refused, so he contacted Pastor Adigun, one Kayode and two police officers who are members of the church to assist with the burial.”

But following rigorous investigation by the police, all the people that participated in the internment of the deceased were identified, leading to the arrest and detention of the cleric for allegedly leading the burial team.

The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Manzah Anjuguri, confirmed that investigators had arrested Pastor Adigun for involvement in the illegal burial of little Samuel.

He added that efforts were ongoing to apprehend the couple who, he said, were the prime suspects in the homicide case.

“We have a suspect in custody in respect of the case; he assisted the couple to bury the deceased. The police are on the trail of the prime suspects, we are working hard to get them.”

Suspected Fulani Herdsmen Kill Five Farmers In Delta

Suspected Fulani herdsmen again have reportedly hacked 5 farmers to death in two separate attacks in Abraka and Obiaruku, both in Ethiope East and Ukwuani area of Delta State.

The incident happened between Tuesday and Wednesday last week when the communities were allegedly attacked by the herdsmen who had been having a running battle with farmers in the areas over the destruction of their crops by cattle.

The incidents, which have reportedly sparked tension between local farmers and herdsmen in the state, according to Southern City News, claimed the lives of four males and a female as more residents in the state called for the ejection of the herdsmen from their lands.

According to a source, two of the victims, who were cousins, Akpovona Felix and Sunday Akpupu, were indigenes of Eku community residing at the Delta State University host community of Abraka.

It was gathered that two of them were killed in their farms as their lifeless bodies were discovered there on Wednesday. They had gone to the farm on Tuesday but failed to return home.

The deceased were said to have refused to allow herdsmen to graze their cattle on their farms.

Their corpses were recovered following a search on Wednesday afternoon in a bush said to be very prone to herdsmen attacks.

Akpovona, a father of five, was said to have been shot by the herdsmen while his brother was hacked to death and his fingers cut off.

The second incident happened in a farm around a forest reserve along the Abraka-Benin road, a boundary area between Urhoka-Abraka and Obiaruku. It claimed the lives of two males and a female.

The victims, according to sources, were indigenes of Obiaruku community.

“They had gone to the farm last week Tuesday and when they did not return, the next day, a search party sent to look for them found their lifeless bodies at separate locations by a river bank near their farm,” Progress Aganbi, a native of the area, narrated.

The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Andrew Aniamaka, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, confirmed that there were clashes in the two areas, but could not immediately confirmed the number of casualties.

Aniamaka added that security had been beefed up to prevent any form of reprisal, urging residents and herdsmen in the area to maintain the peace.
